Ensuring the continued survival of a village full of people in a harsh, war-shattered world is no easy task, and Luca Price is not a man to be trifled with. When he offers beautiful newcomer Victoria Davis the chance to earn a living competing against other women in extravagantly staged matches for the entertainment of the local population, he makes it clear that he will be taking charge of her training personally and he will expect nothing less than complete obedience.
When Victoria puts Luca to the test, the roughly handsome former professional fighter proves more than ready to spank her until she is sore and sobbing, and she soon learns the hard way that repeated defiance will result in even more shameful chastisements. But even with her well-punished bare bottom sore both inside and out, Victoria cannot hide her intense, helpless arousal, and when Luca takes her in his arms and claims her thoroughly she is left deeply satisfied.
Amusing the masses in this savage world is a dangerous game, however, and injuring a rival in an act of self-defense makes Victoria question her part in the decadent pageantry. But when it becomes apparent that something much more sinister than anyone realized is going on and Victoria is being targeted by a man Luca once called his friend, will he be able to keep her safe?
Publisher's Note:His to Train includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
“His to Train” is set in a post-apocalyptic America, where survivors work to reestablish organized society. While some survivors attempt to exist independently, hardship and criminality have forced many others to align together forming specialized communities engaging in wide-ranging commerce. Victoria Davis is one of those survivors who eventually makes her way to a village, led by Luca Price, specializing in female cage fighting as entertainment. Luca, a former MMA fighter, agrees to employ and train Victoria only if she follows his rules as well as surrender to his discipline. Professionally written, original, and fast paced the erotic story-line encompasses the main protagonists evolving relationship along with danger, suspense and human interactions within the community. Victoria’s character is portrayed as both strong as well as independent, and Luca is depicted as a compassionate but dominant individual who has experienced heartbreak in the past. Luca’s past resurfaces toward the end of the novel and duplicity provides the major plot twist.

All I have to say is WOW. This was my first read by Maria Monroe and I really plan on going back for more. I didn't know really what to expect while reading this one. I was pleasantly surprised how much I was drawn into His to Train. I love the feel of this book with such strong female leads. Victoria is wonderful. She is a survivor, a fighter and has been on her own for years since the destruction. Luca is strong and a swoon worthy alpha. You can feel the sparks from the start which makes for a hot read. I'm still fanning myself over Victoria's punishments. Luca is amazing with how he handles Victoria's fight training. Even when things a grim you can still find love you didn't know you where looking for. I can't wait to dig into more books by Maria Monroe. This one was sooooo good and I couldn't put it down.
This is my first book by this author and I will definitely read her other books. She has a easy flowing writing style.
This book was a bit different then other post -apocalyptic world books out there. It made for a fresh read.
There are plenty of strong woman in this book. Victoria is a real survivor and I loved how she pushed herself to make herself the best fighter, but also stay caring and kind.
I loved the scenes between her and Luca, those very steamy but also full of emotions.
As per usual, I didn't even read the blurb so I had no clue what I was going to read..so imagine my surprise lol when I found myself in this interesting scenarios..and I loved it. Victoria is so strong and independent, with great instincts that not only made her survive alone all this time, but she can also feel who to trust..and she can trust Luca. This man agreed to help her but at the same time he is waging a war against himself and his feelings. At the same time there are the going on of the community.. truly interesting!
This is my first book from author Maria Monroe and its a bit different then the books that I normally read. It has been a while since I have read a post apocalyptic story but I was so glad that it wasnt like the ones I have read. I was so excited to see that there were so many strong female characters in this story and not the same old weak woman who has to have a man to save and protect her. This was really a good read.
How did it get to be July already? Half of 2021 is already over and I'm still working on some of my older books I read and never reviewed. Will I get down to less than 300 books not reviewed on my GoodReads by end of this year? Looks like a 50/50 chance. I read this book years ago as an ARC and embarrassingly never wrote a review. Better late than never?

After years of barely surviving In a post-apocalyptic world - a chance encounter lands Victoria in the arms of Lucca - a commanding and dominant leader who offers her a chance to make a new life - all she has to do is follows the rules. I have mixed feelings about this read - If you remove the romance this would be a five star read for me - Do not get me wrong it was not the subjugation/humiliation I had trouble with - it was their relationship as a whole - for me there was no romantic connection between the two main characters. I wish the author had spent more time building up the connection between Luca and Victoria - If Luca was going to accept the responsibility for disciplining Victoria it needed to be meted out as a discipline I found Victoria's character for the most part very entertaining and as for the supporting cast I would enjoy reading their stories and I want to know what happens to you know who - Luca just did not do it for me
