Isaak “Ice” Koval is on a club mission when he sees a woman who stops him dead in his tracks. Soleil is a sweet, sexy, girl-next-door type. She’s an innocent who should be nowhere near the rough-and-ready world of the Torpedo Ink motorcycle club. But Ice knows Soleil belongs with him—and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her.

After a life of drifting from one thing to the next, Soleil Brodeur is determined to take control of her life. When her breakup with her manipulative fiancé turns ugly, Soleil searches out the stranger who offered her a lifeline and ends up in a Las Vegas biker bar where she meets a gorgeous, dangerous man straight out of her most secret fantasies.

Maybe, sorta semi-spoilery.....keep reading at your own risk.

I have been a fan of Christine Feehan for years. Nearly every single series that she writes is amazing and so intricately done. I've also read every single Torpedo Ink book she's put out and I have to say I'm disappointed in this one.

I will preface this by saying I didn't finish this book. I got to 57% and just had to give it up. The storyline isn't there and every single scene has some type of sexual situation in it and not for the greater of the book as a whole...it's just thrown in randomly. I understand that these characters are sexual in nature and have a very, unbelievably tragic past, but even the connection between the two main characters was absent. Their official meeting gave me the creeps on how it all played out. I see that they were both trying to do "this" but man oh man it made me nauseous for many reasons but here's two: 1. Soleil's guardian just died...like a month ago and she literally just fled an abusive situation where she found out that he didn't just die but was murdered and now they're planning on murdering her. You would think that since she's still grieving, just got the crap beat out of her, and found out her life is in danger that she'd be traumatized but no. She runs away and finds herself in Ice's lap, drinking so much alcohol, and getting it on with him even though she met him 2.5 seconds ago. I get sexual chemistry and that Feehan is a whirlwind of an author when it comes to it. Like I said, I'm a huge fan of her and I've read the other two books in this series, but this was just a little too much. 80% of what I read was sex and it would have been okay if there was even a little bit of an emotional connection between the main characters. There was none. Period.

Ice was repetitive at best. I didn't get the "it" moment when he fell for her. He just saw her, physically reacted to her, and decided to keep her. I desperately wanted more from this character. I wanted to really see the ins and outs of him but all I got was a washed up porn star.

The plot? What plot? I loved the opening scenes and it really pulled me in. I love watching the group work together to try and save others from a life that they had, but I just couldn't get past the main characters. I'm so very disappointed in this book. I expected steamy scenes, taboo situations, and lots of action (in and out of bed) but I can't get behind this type of "romance" because there wasn't an emotional connection for me at all.

Vendetta Road definitely brings the explosive sexual chemistry Christine Feehan is known for. The Torpedo Ink club heads to Vegas for a wedding only to find another member blindsided by a woman in a sundress. When Ice sees Soliel something changes, he feels.

Soliel is a trust fund baby that was orphaned at an early age. No one really wanted her more than what her money offered. Forced to Vegas by a strong arming financee, Soliel quickly realizes something is very wrong with the man who wants her to marry him. She is given advice by a beautiful biker babe in the casinos bathroom. Running for her life she finds herself in a bar surrounded by the same biker club the beautiful woman belong too.

Ice was shocked when Soliel strolled into the bar. He knew he wasn't going to let her get away again, she was his, now he just had to convince her. And boy did he convince her.

Warning: This story is a dark read that hits on almost every hot button. The entire club of Torpedo Ink was formed by abused children who where trained as assassins and sexual slaves. Now they fight for the woman and children being preyed upon. It is strongly described and not just implied.

I received this ARC copy of Vendetta Road from Berkley Publishing Group. This is my honest and voluntary review. Vendetta Road is set for publication Jan. 28, 2020.

VENDETTA ROAD by Christine Feehan is the third book in her Torpedo Ink series. Isaak (Ice) Koval is on a mission for his motorcycle club when he sees a woman that attracts him. Later that evening, she enters a bar where the Torpedo Ink club is celebrating. Soleil Brodeur is running from an abusive fiancé. What follows is an interesting, twisted and dark tale.

This novel has numerous trigger warnings including physical child abuse, mental child abuse, murder, kidnapping, murder, human trafficking, erotica, exhibitionism, family and much more. It also includes scenes that deal with the effect of childhood abuse on adults. While the novel had some plot elements to it, it was more about Ice, how his life was affected by his childhood abuse, and erotic scenes.

This series has great potential, but it needs better balance between story line, character development, relationship development and steamy scenes than occurred in this novel. Additionally, I recommend reading this series in order. This is a dark and disturbing novel, but many will love it while others will feel that it needed more balance.

ARC provided by Netgalley. I read the first two so I knew I was in for some crazy, public sex scenes but this was just too much.

Set in Vegas, the heroine is just so ditsy. She escapes her homicidal, abusive fiancé and flees to the streets of Vegas. She stumbles into a biker bar and within 5 seconds she’s in Ice’s lap, their having drinks and he is already telling everyone she is his. Forgetting the evil fiancé chasing her she ends up spending the night with the gang and Ice drinking and playing games and before the night is over they are having sex in shop windows and getting married. Ice and his friends quickly kill her fiancé and everyone he works with and that’s it.

Barely any plot, a ditsy heroine with no personality, a possessive alpha male hero who doesn’t mind letting everyone watch them have sex. I’m over this series. It’s sexy but it’s also ridiculous.

Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan is book 3 in the Torpedo Ink series and it just keeps getting hotter and hotter , darker and darker and plenty more twisted.
I love that the character's get a book to themselves so we can find out about them and their childhood and the darkness that consumed them,to then see them as adults use their special abilities to make good for other children that need saving, also see them find a HEA 😍
This series definitely get more wild and kinky(did I mention they are bikers ??😉) but also more thrilling with each book I definitely recommend this series 📖

WELP.... this is one of the rare times in all my years of working in the publishing industry that I absolutely hate even rating a book. Ms. Feehan's writing, as usual, is some of the best in the romance world. And, while her books are almost always steamy and often ride the line between an amazing story and nothing but sex, I feel in this particular instance it tipped WAY beyond. It is not just sex, it is gratuitous skeevy, exhibitionism.

Now one might say that the whole point of this series is in exploring a group of people so traumatized that they may never fit into the "normal" world. BUT, while previous books in the series dealt with horrific things, this one didn't really "deal" with it at all. It just sensationalized it.

And, that is about all there is to the book! The rich and riveting previous plot-lines that dealt with ridding the world of the most evil sex traffickers was nothing more than a blip of a few pages here and there - in between the sex scenes - with absolutely NO depth or even enough word time (can't use page time because there really isn't any) to understand who the heck the real villains even are or uncover the reasoning. All basic surface gloss over.

HUGELY disappointing on so many levels for me. Still, even with just one star the writing skill, while misplaced, is still top-notch.

1.5 stars. This could have been such a great read if the following would have happened:
The page count was reduced by a 100 pages and that could have been accomplished by less "forced" sexual encounters. ( I don't mean rape, I mean where the author inserted a sexual scene where one didn't need to be.) Case in point, all were enjoying breakfast as a newly formed family and the heroine performs oral on our hero right there at the breakfast table with everyone just sitting there trying to eat. UGHHHHH. The storyline and writing were solid if she would have eased up on that ridiculousness. I like smexy times as much as the next person, but sometimes you need to let the people have real dialog and allow the story to speak for itself.

****Trigger warnings galore***If child abuse and we are talking graphic with pictures and details, then you might want to stay way away from this book. ***

This series is the first intro to Christine Feehan and so far I'm liking her writing. Because it is my first series with her and I believe this is a spin off series at times I feel lost. She does a good job trying to keep you in the loop but there is always that back of mind feeling that I'm missing something important.

This series is around a group of individuals who were once tortured with unthinkable acts and had to do many things just to survive but those acts have also developed them into men and women who are assassins and deeply broken. Together they are family and loyal but one by one they are finding love and getting a piece of themselves back again.

This time around this story revolves around Ice. For the most part I did like this story but at times it verged on more sex than substance during the story. Don't get me wrong the sex scenes were hot but I wanted more from them then just sex. Don't get me wrong I understood why sex was Ice's vice and his way to show emotion but I was still left wanting more from them to truly feel their connection.

Even though I was left wanting more I'm still hooked with this series and want all these broken men and women to find a sliver of happiness in their dark world.

The action isn’t the only thing heating up…

Abuse, murder, stalking. Heat, protectiveness, family. All these things stood shoulder to shoulder in the latest whirlwind instalment of the Torpedo Ink series. Ice was an enforcer, cool, deliberate, and ready to do what needed to be done. Family was everything to him and for the people he loved he would do anything. And now, that included Soleil…

Soleil was an interesting character. In some ways innocent and sheltered, yet worldly and savvy in others. When she was lucky enough to bump into Lana her circumstances, her life, took a dark, delicious turn…

This story was all about taking control. Of your life, of the dark world that comes knocking on your door. About trusting your instincts and tacking chances. Marry that with a courtship like no other and you have an unforgettable story… I can’t wait for the next step on this road! ~Diane, 4 stars

Solid read. Draws you into the story immediately.

VENDETTA ROAD was a solid read, and had me involved completely by the end of the 1st chaper. Action, taking down the bad guys, passionate, and at times heartbreaking, as we learn about another Torpedo Ink member and his childhood trauma. Ice truly finds peace with the kindred spirit of Soleil. They both want to belong to that special one person. Soleil lost her parents very young, and hasn't had the connection of a loving protective family. She finds this with Torpedo Ink, and Ice. Soleli, and Ice's sexual needs compliment each other, and it works for them, leaving them both fulfilled.

We caught up with familiar characters. Pierce's still sniffing around Alena, and I hope he's working undercover to take down the Diamondbacks. I like him for Alena. I'm still suspicious of Bannister, and the possibility of him betraying Torpedo Ink because of his son's gambling problems.

I have loved Christine Feehan's Torpedo Ink series for so long and could not wait for Ice's book. I was obsessed with his obsession with Soleil from the beginning and loved that she was his gamechanger. This novel was sexy as heck and full of delicious banter. I loved their chemistry and connection and was engrossed from the first page.

I enjoyed Ice and Soleil's camaraderie and banter right away and loved Soleil's connection with the rest of Torpedo Ink. I did feel like she was a little too passive and would have liked to see more of a spark from her. I look forward to Lana's book as I am more and more intrigued by her and Pierce. 4 stars! ~Ratula

No one could ever call Soleil Brodeur helpless. Ever since the death of her parents, she’s taken care of herself and her sizable inheritance. A beautiful girl is always going to attract a certain amount of attention, but one with money has a target on her back.

A moment of dark despair leads her into the protection of Torpedo Ink and one member in particular instantly knows that he would tear down the world to keep her by his side.

He had to be careful not to fall under her spell. She was sweet. He’d never had sweet in his life. “Tell me the one thing you really want out of life.”
“A family.” She regarded him over the rim of her glass. “I’ve never had a family.”
“You had parents.”
“They died when I was very young, and I spent most of my life in boarding schools or hotels for holidays.” She smiled, but there was sadness in her eyes. Reality. Truth. “I think I’m really that proverbial poor little rich girl.”
So, she had money. He suspected as much, or she wouldn’t have been insisting on a prenup with that suit bastard who was going to die. He deliberately took a sip of his whiskey and she followed the action, but she didn’t really take that much of a drink.
“My club is my family,” Ice said softly and leaned in closer when Maestro stepped back and bumped him. His face was almost in her shoulder, his lips sliding along her skin as he spoke. She had the softest skin and she smelled liked heaven.
He kept his voice deliberately pitched low, intimate. “My brother and sister are my family. Never had parents that I really remember. Czar, our president, was my parent when he was ten. Looking for a woman who wants to make a life with me. Have my children. Make us a home. I’d die for my club, but I want my own woman, one worthy of living for.”

Isaak “Ice” Koval always had absolute control over both his body and his mind. It’s one of the qualities that made him so good at hunting human monsters. He could wipe out a child predator with all of the cool calm that his name implied and yet somehow there was something about Soleil that made him burn.

After just one night and an impromptu wedding, those that threaten Soleil still seek to harm her. But they never planned on the savage force of her new husband and Torpedo Ink. It’s a mistake that they wouldn’t live long enough to ever make again.

She turned to him and framed his face with her hands. “I’m terrified of falling in love with you.” She didn’t know why she’d told him the truth, but she had and now it was right there and he could push her off him and say there was no such thing. Their relationship was about sex, that bright, hot chemistry that sizzled and scorched, demanding they stay with each other until the attraction fizzled out.
“I’m terrified you won’t,” he answered.

Vendetta Road is Christine Feehan’s hottest book yet! She once again takes her readers on the ultimate thrill ride, but this time it’s seductively darker than ever before.

Ice and Soleil have a chemistry that literally takes on a life of its own. At times it’s completely out of control and then seconds later, it’s almost sweetly endearing. They are the perfect dichotomy – light and dark – grace and violence.

Their journey is raw. It’s fueled by desire, acceptance, and that special kind of revenge that can only come from Torpedo Ink. So prepare to be left breathless in the very best of ways…

Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan
Book #3 Torpedo Inc. Series
Release Date: 01/28/2020
Review by Slavica G Kukich

Isaak Koval also known as “Ice” to his Torpedo Inc brothers and sisters, met in Los Vegas for the wedding of Breezy and Steel. (Vengeance Road). At the same time Torpedo Inc plan was to take care of “business”; the monsters that presented a well dressed and proper image to their families and the world, yet behind everyone’s back defiled children.
Soleil Brodeur reluctantly came to Los Vegas with her fiancé Winston Trent. She was afraid that Winston had only one goal in mind and that was to marry her as soon as possible. Soleil could not think about getting married while still grieving over the sudden unexpected death of her longtime guardian and lawyer. When Soleil insisted on a prenup Winston becomes violent, and that’s when she knew she had to get away from him.
The moment Ice meets Soleil he knew she was the one for him, and from the time Soleil meets Ice she felt she could trust him to keep her safe from Winston. As I read this book Ice and Soleil made my heart ache.
I love Christine Feehan style of writing. She brings the importance of family and love into each story line and incorporates relevant topics that affect society today.
Vendetta Road is the 3rd book in Torpedo Inc series. Even though it can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the books in orders to get the feel of continuity and fluidity of the story line, and as you read this book keep a tissue box handy.

These torpedo Ink books seem to be my secret vice. So secret that I wear a mask when reading them.
They are full of sex, but in spite of page after page encounters, and maybe a hint of BDSM, seem curiously tame. I mean I've read regency romances with more inventive encounters. Seriously. Having women who need knee pads is not all that hot or unusual.
....and yet I fnd myself looking forward to other club member's stories.

4 Sexy and Thrilling Stars!!

Vendetta Road is the third book in the Torpedo Ink Series and it certainly kicks things up a notch!

Vendetta Road follows the story of Ice and Soleil. When we first meet up with Ice, he’s in Vegas with his crew and comes across a woman who knocks his world off its axis. Their meeting is fleeting, but makes an impact. Little did Ice know that this chance sighting wouldn’t be the last time he saw his mystery woman…Soleil has just been drifting, floating along. She has no family, no friends, no one in corner. She’s trapped in a loveless relationship, and when said relationship takes a violent turn, Soleil is desperate to escape. Before Soleil knows it, she finds herself swept up in Ice and his biker world. He offers her the chance of a lifetime: family, love, protection…she’d be a fool to turn him down….

I fell in love with Soleil and Ice from their very first meeting. Their chemistry was instant and definitely fits the bill for an insta-love story-line. And even though they fell hard and fast for one another, it totally worked. I loved how Soleil had this air of innocence about her, but she was anything but. When it came to Ice, all of her inhibitions went out the window and lets just say, these two were the perfect match. And Ice, I loved how quickly he was knocked on his butt by Soleil. He took one look at her and had to make her his woman. He was possessive and swoon-worthy at the same time. He totally fit the bill of alpha male and would do anything for his woman.

Vendetta Road kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. I couldn’t put it down. This book was dark and gritty and filled with lots of passion. This story deals with some tough issues, but the author handled those issues with care. This author doesn’t hold back and definitely keeps her readers hanging on each and every word.

Probably one of my favorite things about this book was just how tight the characters were with one another. You know they’ve all seen and done some terrible things. They all have that darkness that haunts them and are just looking for someone to shine some light and happiness on them. The crew of Torpedo Ink are the exact definition of family. They support one another, they look out for each other and will always have their backs, and their women are treated like royalty.

Vendetta Road is sexy, action packed and totally hits the ground running. This book sucks you in instantly and will leave you holding your breath and waiting for more. Vendetta Road checked all of my boxes when it comes to the biker genre. I had a great time getting lost in this crew and can’t wait to see where this series will take us next.

Ugh, I trashed my first review because it rambled on and made me dizzy when I reread it.
I loved this couple and the way their story unfolded from one of physical seduction to one of trust, care, and acceptance…love. Seduction, which wasn’t too difficult since both had the same goal and the Torpedo Ink brethren to help it along, was fun and something Ice knew how to do. Along with defending those younger, weaker, and in danger. Soleil provided him with the need to do both.

Soleil is a strong independent woman, maybe not of her choosing but the circumstances of her life made her. She was tired of being alone and not part of anything. The desires of her heart did make her vulnerable but the greed of those who would harm her and her strength to avoid it put her on a path into Ice’s arms.

I love seeing how the trauma they both experienced affected their lives. And as they grow as a couple and move through difficult and dangerous circumstances,to themselves and other members of Torpedo Ink, they learn physical sex, adrenaline rush is not what makes a couple strong. That communication was a two-way street.

Acceptance and understanding can only come when you share yourself and trust another person enough to do it. Love the moment Ice’s hand is forced, to keep Soleil and to protect his brothers, he must tell her everything. Her heart is much like his, protective and caring she just wanted someone to see it in her the way she saw it in Ice. He tells her and she understands and is there for him. In doing so Ice finally gets it, when you say you are all in you have to be all in...and that women are magic...and she finally feels she belongs and is a part of his life and all it entails. Both are accepted for being just who they are.

Christine again weaves their story with heat, action and all the emotions that illicit both tears and laughter. Truly a story of redemption, acceptance and karma delivered. While traveling this Vendetta Road we also get great insight into members of Torpedo Ink as the family they forged and the traumas they faced. How the relationships being made around them may just be opening them to hope and the steps they need to take to find themselves. And how they work as a unit delivering their brand of justice. Can’t wait to see what Absinthe’s book, Desolation Road, brings him and the club and the little thread woven through the books building the series.

Ice is a member of the motorcycle club Torpedo Ink. Like the other members, he was trained as a sexual slave and an assassin. Torpedo Ink rescues children from pedophiles. They are on a mission to rescue a six-year-old boy when Ice sees Soleil across the street. He stops tailing two suspects to look at this girl-next-door, sexy woman. Soleil is in a bad situation with her fiance. She meets Lana, a member of Torpedo Ink, in the women's restroom. Lana programs her number in Soleil's phone and offers her Torpedo Ink's help. Soleil goes up to her hotel room and confronts Winston Trent, her fiance, and tells him she breaking it off. He hits her in places that will not be seen and tells her to go to the bathroom and clean up. They are going to be married. Soleil goes to the bathroom, but leaves the door cracked. She overhears Winston on the phone talking about murdering her attorney and planning on murdering her. Soleil makes a run for it and ends up, eventually, in a Las Vegas biker bar, where she meets Ice and the Torpedo Ink bikers. Ice knows she is the woman for him. Now to convince her.

Soleil likes peace. She likes creating peace. She is also a runner from problems. Soleil has panic attacks. She is also a drifter -- drifting from one situation to the next. Because of his training, Ice can't get a normal erection, but when he sees Soleil, it happens naturally. Soleil is a sexual exhibitionist and Ice gets off on others seeing his woman in sexual ecstacy. Needless to say, there is a lot of sex in this book. Most of the story has some sexual activity written into practically every scene. I feel this novel touches on pedophiles and the abuse of women and children. Torpedo Ink is a family and Soleil longs for a family. Ice longs to give her a family, but he holds himself back because he doesn't feel Soleil will accept his past. The emotional baggage each character carries keeps them apart, though they are a couple. The HEA is an emotional and sexual journey. I only hope the next book in the series has more of a character plot and less of a sexual plot. I enjoy Christine Feehan's writing. Her character sketches and arcs are terrific. She understands character backgrounds and motivations. The characters in this novel does connect with this reader, but the overabundance of sex scenes draws this reader occasionally out of the book.

And that is being generous.
If you love repetition on Every Page and Every Paragraph, go for it.

This book is the end of my Christine Feehan journey. I give up. I should have know better. I read one of her books years ago and refused to read another due to the INCESSANT repetition. This is her style of writing. Every thought and action is continuously repeated throughout her books. Not only that, but every book in the series has TONS of repetition from the books before it. So, in this one, we get repetition of various characters and actions from bk#1 & bk#2. Add to that, we have every thought of every character and action in this story repeated CONTINUOUSLY.

Were the sex scenes erotic and steamy? Yes, BUT, Dear God! Even THAT area was so repetitive it got Boring and Annoying!

I give up. I will NOT be continuing this series nor reading any of her other books.
Interesting premise, world and characters, But Not Worth the Ceaseless, Unabating, Interminable. Endless, Persistent, Relentless, Recurrent Repetition!!!

I think I have made my point.

I have been a huge fan of CF for many years and devoured everything she wrote. Her books have always featured sex scenes but in the last couple of years she has included more and more and some of her books just have too much.

In this we have Ice & Soleil who meet and within 3 hours she knows she wants to be with him and he knows she is 'The One'. He the performs fingering and oral sex on her in a bar whilst playing snooker, she goes down on him in a dress shop and can be seen through the window and after that they go off and get married. This is all done within a 1/3 of the book and frankly I am bored because when he wasn't hiking up her dress/skirt and touching her, or telling her he is gonna make her scream he constantly keeps telling himself how amazing it is that his erection is as a result of her and not because he 'commanded' it like he has had to do with every other women in his life....Of which there has apparently been thousands!

ENOUGH....I'm off to find something interesting to read!

Ice is a member of Torpedo Ink, a biker gang that seeks out pedophiles so they can save the kids and kill the pedophiles. All the members of Torpedo Ink are messed up mentally because of how they were raised. This is the first book of this series that I've read and I was a little lost as to what happened to them to make them the way they are until we get a glimpse at Ice's memories or what he and the others endured as children. Let's just say that it was worse than bad.

Soliel got mixed up with Winston who only wanted to marry her for her money. When Soleil overhears Winston's plan to kill her after they're married, she runs right into the arms of Ice. When he finds out what happened to her, he vows to keep her safe but after just a few hours together they end up a lot closer than either of them imagined would happen. I kinda thought the quick way they end up together and push things so fast was completely unbelievable. She's jumps out of a bad relationship and right into one with someone she doesn't even know which I thought was dumb.

Ice and his team go after the pedophiles and when they look into Winston and the people who he works for, they find a correlation between him and the people they are already after. I found this to be another instance where it was such a big coincidence that was too much to be believable.

The guys of Torpedo Ink are rough, rude, crude and dangerous. I would say this is definitely a dark romance. If you're looking for a nice guy, well-mannered men, or guys who will melt your heart...you won't find that here. Yes, Ice falls madly and deeply for Soliel but I had some problems with the way he treated her and problems with the fact that she let him or rather that she didn't mind. He likes it when his friends watch him have sex with her and while she didn't seem to mind, I had a problem with it and it happened frequently. I don't think this is the series for me because there's so much rape, abuse, torture, and murder. I usually really like this author's books but this one just didn't do it for me. I love the writing style, the story flowed effortlessly, the danger was exciting and the story was an engaging one but there was too much murder for me to really enjoy this book. But while I had some problems with parts of this book, I did enjoy the overall story and read it in one day because I wanted to see how this story would end. I think if you like this type of story then you would probably like this series.

Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan should be read with caution as it is a landmine of triggers. The story is dark and filled with the worst of human kind. Consider yourself warned.

Ice and his fellow Torpedo Ink members are hunting down a pedophile ring which has led them to Las Vegas. While there, Ice sees Soleil and knows instantly she is the one. Their romance is quick and dirty (seriously, this book is 5 flames for sure). Their sexy love story is woven between Soleil running from her ex-fiancee who wants to kill her, and Ice torturing some members of the pedophile ring. Ice's background (as well as the others in the club) is tragic and informs why they hunt pedophiles. The story is certainly dark due to the serious nature of the topics, but I was enthralled throughout because the mystery deepens regarding this ring of pedophiles. Vendetta Road has a touch of paranormal as well, as most/all of Feehan's stories do. The psychic abilities of the club members is fascinating and is just sort of a background to who they are; it doesn't define their character.

From Las Vegas and a quickie wedding back to the California coast, Vendetta Road delivers on the blood feud vengeance quest! Feehan does a wonderful job of deepening the characters and allowing the reader to understand the trauma of their past and how differently it affects them. Soleil could have easily been a flat character who was just naive and wealthy, a classic poor little rich girl, but Feehan doesn't leave us with that characterization. She manages to make Soleil both vulnerable and assertive. She and Ice are perfect for each other and Vendetta Road brings them the love story they deserve!

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceI received this book for free from Berkley Publishing Group in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

*Contains Some Spoilers….so readers be aware”

In the newest installment of the Torpedo Ink series by Christine Feehan. I have really been in love with this series and seeing the connection with this series with two of her other series, its been pretty exciting and of course I just love a great motorcycle club set up and Christine Feehan has done a beautiful job in writing these books. Now this book Vendetta Road was a bit different than the previous books but in the end did slowly work for me. It might not work for everyone though so just fair warning.

Vendetta Road begins with our hero Ice who is out on a run with his brothers to follow a lead on a young boy who has been sexually abused but on his way to tracking the key players he stumbles across a young woman, who is so not his type —-the “girl next door” beautiful, sweet and has class. But he has a mission to complete and never expected to see the woman who has made him feel more in one look than any other woman ever has. Soleil is a woman who has almost always lived a lonely life. Her parents had wealth and when they passed she inherited everything. But now she is engaged, but her fiancée is proving to be difficult, controllingand a bit abusive and has no desire to marry him. But wonders how she could get away from him when she meets up with a woman “Lena” who offers her phone number and help if she ever needs it. When Soleil’s fiancée beats her and she overhears him in a phone conversation with the intent of killing her once he gains access to her wealth, she runs away and finds herself in a bar and meets Ice. Both Ice and Soleil can feel the sexual chemistry between them and both ironically realize they need each other. And even though mentally they think alike in how they acquire each other and end up married, they also want to do everything to make this work despite the danger that Soleil’s ex fiancée is bringing on the Torpedo Ink’s doorstep.

This BOOK was just intense and crazy at times, but with typical Christine Feehan delight….you fall in love with it. Now this is not the book I would recommend if you have never read this author before. But if you love her writing style especially in how she writes her alpha males and type of romance she delivers...than this book is definitely going to win your heart. She has done a delightful job in doing these more contemporary style romances. Now there is a small paranormal element, but its pretty light. It’s much closer to Contemporary/Romantic Suspense in my book with some darker elements at times. But I wouldn’t categorize it as a dark romance either.

Now the beginning of the story was a bit off putting and I wasn’t sure if I was on board with it completely. Both Ice and Soleil once they meet in the bar, both as it turns out plan on getting the other drunk to coerce the other into marriage. So yes this set up where they actually are using each other (even though there is a obvious liking and sexual attraction between them) BUT what I did like is that they are both doing it. So that did help but it was still an element in the beginning of their relationship I really struggled with at times What we do see is the way they really do like each other though, and the sense of family that Soleil is introduced to. Their romance isn’t the most conventional of beginning but what we do see happen with them is that sense of true connection and how they build it together throughout the story. Of course we get plenty of intense and thrilling moments with the dangers that come across the Torpedo Ink Club BUT we see the essence of this story is focused solely around Ice and Soleil and the intimate bond that forms between them.

Vendetta Road is a compelling installment that will have your heart beat faster, tingles explode all over your body and a swoon worth romance to delight in you every way!!

What’s a girl to do when she’s in Las Vegas with a guy who is pressuring her into marriage? That’s the dilemma facing Soleil Brodeur in Christine Feehan’s newest book, Vendetta Road.
Losing her parents at a very young age and growing up in boarding schools, Soleil has no one close to her but the attorney who manages her trust fund. She meets Winston Trent on a trip to London and falls into a relationship with him. Winston’s attitude toward her slowly changes until Soleil finally wakes up to the fact that this man is not for her. After one of Winston’s less gentle attempts to force her to marry him, Soleil meets a woman named Lana in one of the hotel’s restrooms. The ensuing conversation confirms that Soleil would be out of mind marrying a man who treats her the way Winston does. Later, after an even rougher confrontation leading to Soleil overhearing a conversation not meant for her ears, she runs off and end up at a motorcycle bar.
Torpedo Ink is in Las Vegas for Steele and Breezy’s wedding along with taking care of some “other” business. Isaak “Ice” Koval and some of his family have remained in Vegas to let off some steam when Soleil enters the bar they are partying in. Ice’s attention is completely taken by the vision he had seen earlier in the day.
Ice and Soleil start their adventure by trying to get each other drunk. Eventually it is revealed that Soleil is running for her life and Ice is determined that she is “his” and he is going to do anything he has to do to keep her safe. It is also revealed that Soleil has connections to the “other” job they were in town for. Each member of Torpedo Ink has a special tale to tell and Ice is no different. Each story is different but also manages to grab your heart.
Ms. Feehan masterfully weaves the threads together and brings this story to a satisfying conclusion while leaving enough openings for future stories. I will add a warning here that Vendetta Road follows the others in this series and is not for the faint of heart. Yes, there is a lot of sex in this series but consider how these people were raised (trained). They lived that way for so long that there is no undoing their past. They need to find a way to live with what was done to them and not become the monsters who created them. Somehow, each member manages to come to terms with what was done to them and find the one person who can anchor them and give them what they need. These stories are not for everyone. If you don’t do lots of sex and violence then it is not for you.

Isaak Koval has a heart as hard as his nickname “Ice”. A member of the Motorcycle Club Torpedo Ink, he is rough and rowdy. There is no gentleness in him. His family is all he has, and he lives only for them.
On a mission in Las Vegas, Ice sees a vision of beauty that stops him in his tracks. Sun shining on her face, she is like an angel.
Soleil Brodeur is what some people would classify as a poor little rich girl. She lost her parents at 4, lost a loving aunt at 8, and has since drifted from school to school, country to country, having no one to depend on but her trusted lawyer who has been the only stable person in her life.
After losing her lawyer in an accident, Soleil finds herself in a dangerous situation. Her fiancé is not as wonderful and kind as he first appeared. Frightened and upset from an argument with him, she has a chance encounter with Lana, a member of Torpedo Ink in the restroom of her hotel. Lana programmed her phone number into Soleil’s phone, telling her that “He’s not worth it”.
Soleil ran from her hotel after her breakup with her fiancé turned very ugly. Running in the opposite direction of where she knew her fiancé would look for her, she found herself on the seedier side of town, and seeing motorcycles, thought of her new friend Lana, and went looking for her, knowing she would be safer with Lana.
Ice watched his vision of beauty walk through the doors of the bar. He didn’t know why she was there, but knew he needed to save her, both from the man in the suit who had laid his hands on her, and the rough and wild bikers in the bar.
Soleil, recognizing the design on Ice’s vest as the one on her new friends’ vest, allowed Ice to escort her to the bar, and even scared, somehow felt she would be safe.
Ice and Soleil’s adventures take you from the loud and wild streets of Las Vegas to the quiet town of Caspar, a beautiful town near the ocean. Can a man as hard as world wise as Ice, and a woman so innocent of the world’s evil, find a middle ground?
This book is a page turner from beginning to end! I didn’t want the story to end. The characters come to life in great detail, and you find yourself seeing them all in your mind, fighting for love, and fighting against evil.

Vendetta Road

Eighteen kids forged a family in the fires of Russian hell, now as adults they are doing their best to assimilate into a ‘normal’ life. Their idea of normal is forming a biker community in Caspar and covertly rescuing children from the dregs of humanity. The wedding of Steele and Breezy (Vengeance Road) in Las Vegas coincides nicely with the rescue of a young boy being sold on the internet. Ice, Storm, Lana and the rest of Torpedo Ink are here to take him back and take down the trafficking ring hard.

When you lived in hell, you can immediately identify heaven when you see it. That is how Ice Koval member of the Torpedo Ink MC feels when he sees Soleil Brodeur on the streets of Las Vegas, jerking his focus back to his mark he smirks thinking he would never have a chance with her but at least he isn’t planning ‘death by cop’ for himself any longer.

Soleil, the quintessential ‘poor lonely rich girl’ always on the outside looking in, always aware that it is her money that draws people has reached the end of her rope. Running from an encounter with her fiancé that has left her bruised and shaken, she meets Lana of Torpedo Ink. Seeing the bruises, Lana takes the time to give Soleil a kind word, a bit of advice and her phone number to call if she needs help in the future.

With Lana’s words ringing in her ears, Soleil ends her engagement resulting in a violent encounter and a sure knowledge that had she married, her life would have been forfeit. Running for her life she runs into the bar where Torpedo Ink is celebrating.

Ice sees Soleil walk into the bar, recognizes the girl from the Vegas streets that was responsible for his loss of focus earlier in the day, the chemistry between the two of them is instant and explosive. The bar scene is hysterically funny with Ice’s brothers playing wing men, whiskey shots and innuendo fly fast and furious. Both Ice and Soleil run with the attitude “when you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot and swing” and boy oh boy do they!!!

While the Torpedo Ink series deals with dark subject matter, this story has it all, humor,
heavy emotions and action all rolled into one of the best story lines so far in this series. I loved it!!!!

I keep buying this author’s books when they come out because I used to love her stories. But I need to make a mental note and just stop. Because like this one, her recent books are more about the MC’s having LOTS of sex than about their love story. Moreover, there’s barely any plot. It’s thin, at best. Sigh. I’m not a fan anymore. Sorry.

Have you ever been having a conversation with someone when they say something completly crazy, so off the wall you have a hard time wrapping your head around it, and they fully, seriously believe it? You want to dispute it, argue against it, but it's so in the face of all knowledge, sense, truth you don't even know where to begin? Yeah...that's pretty much this book. This book takes itself so seriously, but there's no way I, as the reader, can. I'm not even going to try and summarize it or rationalize why I read this series. In my favor, the prior 2 books had much better, more developed plots. It's this unbelievable mix of pedophile human trafficking, abuse against women and children, rape, snuff films, murder but also an erotic romance. Before you freak, I should point out the biker gang heroes fight against those things and were once victims themselves. They don't participate in those things. It's still impossible to go from a torture scene of a pedophile to a romantic interlude between the H/h. My mind can't make all that work together.
This is nuts. I'll definitely read the next one.

An unconventional start to a romance mixed with lots of explosive action and suspense turned Vendetta Road into an unforgettable wild ride. But what else would we expect from Christine Feehan, right?

I have a feeling that Vendetta Road is one of those Christine Feehan books (like some of her GhostWalkers books) that will not work for some readers. In this case it wasn’t the alpha hero, Ice, that was the issue, unlike some of Feehan’s other stories. It was that the subject matter touched upon dark subjects like murder as well as the Torpedo Ink crew going after a pedophile ring, plus there was the harrowing childhood Ice and his brothers and sisters in the club somehow survived together. Much of which we got see through Ice’s eyes as he remembered his past while explaining it to Soleil. Read More
