Plant Based Beauty

Rate this book
The essential guide to detoxing your beauty routine.
Plant-based beauty is part of a growing global movement that is not just about the food we eat but the choices we make when it comes to what we wear and the beauty products we use. We are more aware than ever that our personal actions have an effect both on our own levels of wellness and the health of the world around us.
Plant-Based Beauty is a practical companion to your daily routine, helping you to truly understand the ingredients you are putting on your skin and replacing them with self-care rituals to look forward to.
Jess Arnaudin helps to de-code the language, myths and science surrounding natural ingredients and shares recipes and her favourite beauty foods as part of her philosophy of 'Inside Out Beauty'.

I'm torn. This book really does make me want to clean up my beauty routine more than I have... but i think the author is a little confused about the meaning of "plant based" as there's lots of honey and even milk products in her recipes. I also think it's a bit elitist as I've never heard of some of the ingredients and wouldnt even know where to source them ethically.

"This isn't a checklist to pressure you into perfectionism, but rather an invitation to view your body through a holistic lense, and cultivating more kindness toward yourself and your skin as a result."

Thoughts~
Jess Arnaudin, beauty expert and skincare therapist has written a gem of a book on plant based beauty. This guidebook is packed full of tips, recipes and valuable information on how you can change your skincare routine into a more holistic, natural plant based one using healthy foods like fruits, nuts, seeds and more plus essential oils to make your own masks, scrubs, creams etc. Instead of buying expensive chemically filled ones at the store. She has also added a constructive guide on reading beauty product ingredient labels to find the most plant based, natural options. There is so much great info on skincare in here! I loved the seasonal skin breadown and the daily self care beauty rituals section as well.

For the recipes I loved how most of them are just a few ingredients I had in my house already and if not they sell at most grocery stores.
My favorites were:
-Seeking Clarity Facial Toner
-Pinapple Enzyme Exfoliating Mask
-Super Hydrating Probiotic Mask
-Strawberries & Cream Face Mask
-The Sweet Treat Face Mask
-Pumpkin and Carrot Exfoliating Mask
-Oatmeal Body Soak
-Stress Free Tresess Warm Oil Ritual
There are also DIY clay face masks in here too.
I have sensitive skin and I was pleased not to have any reactions with the recipes I tried.

I really loved her overall Down-To-Earth approach.
Food is so vital to our overall health, we really are what we eat so why not incorporate that into our beauty routines too.

Thank you to the tagged publishers for #gifting me this book opinions are my own.

This book is a life changer. I have been trying to clean up my beauty routine for years but having recipes to make my own products is exciting. Jess is very knowledgeable and I look forward to reading her future books and articles on her blog.

It’s a quick read with a nice layout and simple explanations. However, there’s nothing in this book you can’t read online. And surprisingly, despite its focus on natural beauty and focusing on skincare nasties, it never once mentioned how skincare products can be absorbed by the bloodstream.

I found the book inspiring to look closer to nature for cleaner beauty as the title states.

I really enjoyed this book. It is beautifully written in a way that is both very informative and easy to digest (which, in my opinion, is not an easy task)! It has encouraged me to already change my skincare routine and be more mindful of what ingredients are in our everyday products. I look forward to trying more of the recipes provided!
