I loved this volume. Everything about it was perfect. They changed a lot around, but nothing big enough to make me upset and it was funny and heartwarming to see so much heart in Organization XIII when they don't in fact have hearts. Axel is my favorite and I love that he got some time to shine towards the end of this one. He also got some time to talk to Kairi which was a new and welcomed development in the arc. Demyx, Sora, and even Pete were the comic relief in an otherwise rather serious volume. Other than volume two which had the most heartbreaking scenes with Roxas, this one is my favorite so far.

As a Kingdom Hearts fanatic, one who has played almost every single game (with te exception of 0.2 and FM versions of the games), I really enjoyed this novel. I didn't get to read the first novel out of this series (since books 1 and 4 were stolen from the giver before Christmas) though.

When I first got these books, I was unsure whether to be excited or meh about them because I've played KH2 about 4-5 times, so I already knew the storyline. However, in the first few pages, I saw and read scenes that were never in the game (aka behind the cutscenes)! After those few seconds of my eyes glancing those first few pages, I was hooked! Now I got KH2 No. 3 to look forward to! :)

10/10 recommended for ANY Kingdom Hearts fan, or for those who can't afford to get the games but want to catch up/get started on the KH series! But plz...if you are in the latter position, start out with the KH1 novel series first! You'll thank me later! :)

I'm always impressed that this artist is able to draw in the classic anime/manga style, while also accurately emulating the art styles of various Disney films. The juxtoposition of the two art styles make this a fun manga series to look at.

Also, this Spaceballs reference really caught me off guard.

I thought the graphic novel was very well put together and it tells a really entertaining story. You have to read the first volume before you read this one because the story will be very confusing at the start. The book likes to jump around a lot and is very frantic and fast. I liked this book and it is one of those books you can just pick up and read whenever you like.

Being and avid fan of Kingdom Hearts, I was quite looking forward to reading the manga version of the game, despite claims of poorer quality art work. Yes, it is not the style of manga we have become used to. But Kingdom Hearts isn’t the type of game everyone was used to. Where else could you find what basically amounts to an official crossover fanfiction?

I rather liked this volume, especially how the art changed for certain worlds, for example Timeless River. Sora is rather clueless and is often enough the comedic relief, and so full of energy you can just see him jumping off the page. Each of the worlds from the game are visited, though obviously shortened without the need for leveling up present in the game.

It has a nice long length without being so long that you constantly worry about breaking the spine, and the printing quality is good. As far as I can tell, the translation is good as well, without any unusual wording or topic jumps.

I can't believe they stretched this out into three books. And that the third book is not even coming to America. Just about the only value this has is recapitulation. A partial recapitulation is a what? Reneckulation? What is it?

Not super satisfying.

Things are still happening in his book but the whole thing probably should have been rewritten to make Axel the main character. As a game, I'm not sure that's an interesting game. But here his story is the only one with even a glimmer of emotional weight.

Whoo! This volume went through the bulk of the worlds from the game, excluding Halloween Town as usual, and also Port Royal (understandable) and couple others. There’s also neat little bits from Organization XIII and Kairi that are expanded. Basically, the story has been condensed and yet intensified. IT’S AWESOME. Again, it’s amazing how there can be so many different styles – even Timeless River!

This one felt extremely rushed, even more than past volumes. I think part of that is the set up of the original source material (they had to fit two world visits into one two-to-three chapter story).

I liked some of the bits (especially Mushu's search through the KH1 manga for any mention of him), but the whole was... disappointing.

(Though, it seems I won't have to worry too much about whether I should get Kingdom Hearts II omnibus 3, since nothing's listed on the Yen Press site)

Sora, Donald, and Goofy are still looking for King Mickey and Riku as they travel to different Disney worlds that are in peril because of the Heartless, and now to the added threat of the mysterious Organization XIII. What do they want? Why do they tell Sora to keep killing Heartless?

Why don't they make this into a tv series? I would totally watch it! Axel is one of my favorite characters and I want to hug his pain away. Why couldn't the game series be this good? It's fun to play, but the story is all over the place. Thank goodness for the manga:)
