A moving photographic journal follows the Sioux nation on their moving 1990 journey to retrace the steps of their ancestors who were massacred at Wounded Knee a century earlier.

Photo journalism about the centennial of wounded knee (the original over not the 70s one) in 1990. some of the photos were fantastic and moving even without words, especially the group numbers slowly growing along the way, the extreme cold frosting the people's faces and even animals' fur. Other images were empty or confusing because there wasn't much accompanying text. the mission/goal of the memorial is 5*+++ but the execution was lacking.
A gift from my friend Janie, this is a moving pictoral diary of the last memorial ride to Pine Ridge. I would have enjoyed more of everything: pictures, narrative and history. Still, it's a great addition to my coffee table book collection.
