Wow finally a true alpha male. Hallelujah! Thank you Jane Porter. Damen Is without a doubt one of the most cruel, hard, cold and unfeeling heroes I have ever read in a Harlequin Presents. I simply adored him. He is such a complex and sexy dark hero! He was horribly abused as a child and my heart broke for him. I also love the arranged marriage theme so this book was perfect for me. Kassiani was my kind of heroine. She was smart, feisty and willing to fight for her husband. Loved the ending. Dame ...more

5 - "No more looking back..." Stars!

Jane Porter delivers up the full Mills & Boon reading experience with His Shock Marriage in Greece, expectations were met (and exceeded) with the story-line and the characters, brooding Alpha Gazillionaire versus Innocent, yet feisty Heiress, and I loved every minute of Kassiani and Damen’s story.

What's not to love about this book !! Seriously
A cruel jerk H
h Definitely not a doormat, she was very strong in my opinion
A marriage of Convenience which is one of my favorite tropes
And a sweet epilogue
What I loved the most is that she fought for him and he fought for her at the end
Loved it 🤗

H/h marry as a replacement for her sister who was supposed to actually be his wife

She had horrible self esteem issues due to her size, her attractive sister and her truly vile father's comments

The H was cold because he shut down his emotions and didn't want her to care about him. He'd been through something traumatic as a teen so one could understand his behavior

I loved his inner thoughts as he tried to fight the h's pull

One would think with her lack of self est

An arranged marriage between Greek tycoon and a virgin wallflower make for an unforgettable story.

Five years ago, Kassiani Dukas's father made a deal with Damen Alexopoulos, a Greek shipping tycoon. He could marry his daughter, Elexis, in exchange for a merger between their companies. But when it came time for the wedding, Elexis had disappeared. There was no way her father's business could survive without the marriage deal. So now, Kassiani was being forced to marry Damien in Elexis’s place.

Damen Alexopoulos is a Greek shipping tycoon. Kristopher Dukas needs his financial assistance to stay afloat. The marriage needs to take place so he substitutes brides. Damen is married to Kassiani, the invisible daughter. He won't be tricked. Someone must pay. Kass may be the unwanted bride but she's won't be ignored. She's a fierce adversary who will fight to have a real relationship with Damen. I admired her spirit and her intelligence. When she challenges her groom, I was impressed with how ...more

I enjoyed this book, but I had some issues with the dynamics between the main characters. I loved Damen, he was so broken, cold and broody, and Kass was good opposite him, feisty and unapologetic most of the time. I wished Kass would've felt happier in her skin.

His Shock Marriage in Greece is the third book in the Passion in Paradise series. The series is written by a variety of authors, this one is written by Jane Porter.

Damen Alexopoulos is a rich shipping tycoon who has worked himself up from poverty to where he is now. He had a horrendous childhood which has left him scarred mentally and he has sworn off being emotional about anything. He knows, however, that he needs to marry and who better to marry than a fellow shipping man's gorgeous daughter,

An enjoyably simple tale with heart

There’s always something comforting and pleasing about a Mills & Boon Modern romance. You know exactly what you’re getting - an alpha male hero (preferably rich), an innocent heroine, a misunderstanding of some sort and enough exotic locales that you will ache to be on holiday.

We get all that we’re hoping for with this book - all written in a style that pulls you in and makes you care about the story. And you can’t help but care for the characters

This is the story of Kassiani Dukas and Damen Alexopoulos.
Kassiani is the youngest daughter of a shipping tycoon.
Damen is a powerful Greek shipping tycoon.
Kassiani is supposed to be attending the wedding of her oldest sister, Elexis to Damen. Elexis runs off the day before her wedding to parts unknown. Kassiani's father would do anything to make the merger between his and Damen's businesses to happen, so he switches one daughter for another at the

Damen and Kassiani’s story was an emotional and wonderful story that began with deception and control issues. I really enjoyed His Shock Marriage in Greece by Jane Porter, book three in the Passion in Paradise series. Damen is a cold, ruthless businessman who is in need of a wife. Imagine his surprise, and anger, when his society bride is switched, at the last minute, for her innocent, socially inept, younger sister, Kassiani. Believing their marriage is to be strictly a business agreement, Dame ...more

His Shock Marriage in Greece by Jane Porter is a sensual marriage of convenience romance and the third story in the multi-authored Passion in Paradise series.

Kassiani Dukas never thought she’d be stuck in a marriage of convenience. But that’s exactly what happens to her when her sister, promised in marriage to Damen Alexopoulos to merge the two families vast Greek shipping companies, hightails off before the wedding leaving Kass to take her place. The Dukas family is in debt and they need Damen’

Providing you can see beyond the rather contrived titles of Mills and Boon romances, which don’t seem to keep pace with the 21st-century covers and themes, they are very readable, and a pleasant way to while away a couple of hours.

‘Marriage of Convenience’, and ‘Mistaken Identity’, are the predominant tropes in this story, which involves Kass agreeing to be the last minute, stand-in bride, to save the family shipping firm, when her socialite sister runs away.

Ignored by those who should love her,

Wow that was some story. A Greek Billionaire is marrying the daughter of another Greek shipping magnate but she runs away so the Father forces his younger 'ugly duckling' daughter to take her place. And that's what her Father calls her. She's curvy and not as beautiful and blah blah blah. She does it and the hero is not happy. Her attempts to seduce him so they would stay married were a little weird but it worked and there were some pretty steamy love scenes. She keeps

Abandoned half way thru. Not my cuppa joe. Kassiani has traded in herself in place of her sister for a business- merger wedding with a Greek tycoon. Her sister ran away the night before the wedding and the h's dad has to keep the deal and present a daughter to avoid public humiliation and scandal.

Kassiani wanted this marriage as a way out of her controlling father and being the ugly duckling of her family. Apparently her sister (originally engaged to the H) is a beauty and her brother is the so

The hero of Jane Porter's latest HP was one tortured dude as we come to find out later in this story. To say he had deep emotional baggage is to put it mildly. This deep seated inner torment overlayed into his personal and everyday life which in turn affected his relationship with the heroine who has issues of her own to contend with.

Damen chose his bride and an arranged marriage for many reasons, not the least of which was to merge his bride’s family shipping company into his. When his intended bride disappears, her father convinces her younger sister, Kass, to take her place and fulfill the contract. Kass has always been on the outside in her beautiful family. She is smart, and is convinced she can’t hold a candle to her sister. She agrees to the marriage, hoping to please her father and knowing it will save the family’s b ...more
This was a very interesting story. An arranged marriage - sort of. When the bride to be takes off right before the wedding and doesn’t return, her father substitutes her younger sister in the wedding. It was all about business for him and for the groom, as for the bride, she saw it as a way to escape her family.
But still, Kassiani was determined to be a good wife, even though she knew she was the “wrong sister”. Damen had shut himself off to emotional attachments, so it was going to be an uphill
An arranged marriage, or should I say a substitute bride. Kassiani steps up as a bride to Damen when her sister at the last minute changes her mind on her marriage. Damen states the marriage will only be a business marriage but the sexual chemistry can not be denied. Damen has a big secret from his past and has trust issues, plus he is pure alpha. Kassiani is very smart but has low self esteem but she might be the first person to break the shell of Damen.

Loved this book, packed full of emotion

First things first:
A prologue AND an epilogue! I felt like Christmas. This author truly loves her readers. 😁

I adored both the hero and the heroine.

The ultra alpha Damen with his sexy darkness and need for pain with his pleasure was a delightful change from the HP heroes we’ve had recently.

And Kass was also a wonderful change. I pictured her with an average sized body and looks. Not ultra skinny or plastic surgery gorgeous. Just a girl. A smart, sassy, warrior who was willin

Broody Damen married the wrong bride; it was a business decision. He's not cut out for emotional attachment. Curvy Kassiani sees the marriage as an escape from her family and a way to live life on her terms. Damen likes control, and Kassiani's determined to be a traditional Greek wife, in her own way. Little by little, she's breaking down his walls. As the nights become more passionate, the days together bring understanding, is it enough? When her heart is on the line, she walks out. They'll for ...more

This is an arranged marriage story, but with the wrong sister! I love hooks that have you wondering right from the start, and this didn’t disappoint.
I liked Kassiani; she’s got hang-ups, but doesn’t wallow in self pity, and her strength, character, and insecurities had me firmly on her side.
I wasn’t too sure about Damen at first though. He’s the kind of typical Alpha male that immediately gets my back up, domineering, arrogant, hard. However, he did become more likeable as I got to know him thro

Surprise...It's not the bride you thought you were getting, but it is at least a bride.....
What a story! I loved that Kassiani wasn't some perfect figured woman and that wasn't a factor for Damen. I hurt for Kassi knowing that she was just the daughter who wasn't first choice to marry Damen. She was smart and had a caring heart. Damen's story was heartbreaking. I thought he showed true signs of caring, even though his past made him feel hard hearted. Not letting anyone too close. A great story!

His Shock Marriage in Greece by Jane Porter. A story of a arrange marriage that starts off not as expected. I enjoyed everything about this story; the setting, characters, dialogue and plot. This author has never disappointed me with her books.

Oh how I loved this book, of course I love Jane Porter’s writing so its a given I’m going to enjoy but this one was enchantment with some little twists when Damen would act totally wonderful or totally unexpectedly different than you were wanting him to and my heart would just ache for Kass.
The best of being taken away, do not miss this one.

Right off the bat, TW for mentions of child sexual abuse in this book (nothing graphic though). Heroine fat-shames herself constantly because she has always been told she's hideous. It gets downright painful after a while. I like the steps the hero takes to change, but his turnaround is so abrupt it's unbelievable. Overall a pretty mediocre Presents.
