It was all a lie, though, a ploy to make him jealous—to see if I even could—and to make him mine again. It worked, but after that last time, he treated me like trash, and I walked away with a broken heart.
It was all flooding back. All the reasons why Tanner and I couldn’t be together. Mostly because I wasn’t his type. I was twenty years old, which meant I was at least twenty years too young for Tanner. He liked them older, had always compared women to well-aged wine. The older, the better was how he saw it. Age meant more experience.
“I’m thinking about taking the day off,” I told her as I sent the text and stood. I tossed my phone carelessly on the bed, knowing she would be able to see it. “But I’m a little bored with you now. Thought maybe I would get a little variety. Someone with some actual skills to come over and finish what you couldn’t.”
“Sorry, sweetheart. I need a shower. It’s not polite to have a girl’s cream on your cock when you’re expecting someone else.”
“Last night was fun, but it took for-fucking-ever for you to get me off. I need someone who knows what she’s doing. You can stick around and watch if you want, maybe learn a few things. If you do, we can try this again tonight.”
“Sorry if I’m breaking your heart,” I told her. “I thought you knew the score. This is why I don’t get involved with anyone younger than me. You young chicks get too clingy. It’s just about sex, sweetheart. No offense, babe, but no experience and following a guy around like a lost puppy is a huge turn-off for me.”
