My heart swells, a heavy feeling that heats up my skin with want. Want for a man I’ve never truly laid eyes on. A man who has yelled at me and been kind to me and made me confused all at the same time. A man who hurts the same way I do but is dealing with it in different ways.

After years spent being her step-mother’s punching bag, twenty six year old Lena leaves NYC in the dust in exchange for art school in Montana. An intriguing ad seeking a personal assistant sounds like it could be th

Patrick and Lena... They start out not liking each other, lots of phone sex, and finally hook up. I was shocked when half-way thru we meet his friends, the boys. I didn't make the connection between him and the previous book. I take a couple of the boys. Lots of family drama and angst. A little side hook-up between his friends that I wonder if it will stick or get it's own book.

What a gorgeous, angsty, slow-burn type of romance that reminded me of Beauty and the Beast in the way that Lena had to work for Patrick who was a grumpy recluse who eventually warms up to Lena’s wonderful personality. I loved this installment the most out of the entire series because it had all the tropes I adore, and I am just obsessed with Zoey Castile’s writing style and her ability to make have me hooked by the first chapter. This is definitely one of my favorite romances I’ve read this yea ...more

I really enjoyed this romance because Beauty & The Beast vibes. Straight up, it’s one of my absolute favorite tropes. I see anything hinting at this type of story and I’m pretty much one-clicking.

Picture this - a grumpy, reclusive, damaged hero with serious trust issues, a Mexican/Puerto Rican (represent!) heroine who’s intrigued by those very trust issues, determined to break through his protective shell, and force some proximity by isolating them in a glorious mansion in the middle of Montana.

4.5 stars!! Definitely my favorite of the series! I loved the Beauty & the Beast (and a little bit of Cinderella) vibes. Pat was an amazing tortured hero and I felt for him so hard! His heroine Lena is lovely and the perfect sunny balance to his grouchy ways. Flashed is much heavier and emotional than the previous two books in the Happy Endings series but absolutely a must read. Zoey Castile has yet to let me down and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next! ...more

*I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.*

After the second book in the Happy Endings series left me unimpressed, I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I started Flashed. Actually I wasn't sure what to expect period because I didn't read the synopsis so I didn't know which one of our guys was next up to get their HEA. But nonetheless, I was still excited to continue this series to see what was in stores for our sexy strippers.

This was Patricks book and it was sad. It was a little different from the first two books in the series and I hope you started with the very first one, Stripped that way you know some of the secondary characters and a little more of Pat. Due to an accident Pat is scarred and really depressed so he becomes a recluse and is in darkness (mentally) daily. His very good friend Scarlett hires someone to cook and clean and even though he fights it he eventually succumbs to allowing Lena to work for him ...more

The Delight
A new author with a series I haven't started, but it failed to grab my attention and keep it. I floundered reading this over a long time. Just no satisfaction.

I started this story without really knowing what it was about. While it was in the middle of a series, that didn't throw me so much as just plain not caring. Magdalena "L

Listen, I realize why the Beauty and the Beast archetype is problematic. Falling in love with someone who kidnapped or imprisoned you is icky. But…Belle was the Disney princess with the books, and therefore she is forever my #1, I’ll fight you while wearing my yellow satin ball gown. (Just kidding, I look terrible in yellow, I do not share Belle’s sun-kissed complexion the way I do her love of books.) Anyway, this is a contemporary spin on Beauty and the Beast, and the best part is the hero does ...more

This is the fourth book in the Noodle Shop Mystery series by Zoey Castile.

This book made me aggravated, but not in a bad way. Maybe frustrated is a better word for it. The tension between Patrick and Lena went on and on and on. Granted, the guy has a problem. He had it all. Didn’t appreciate any of it. Then when an accident nearly takes his life and the life of his brother, Jack he loses it. He can no longer venture outside. Panic sets in and he feels trapped in his Montana house. His b

Patrick had been forced to reinvent himself, but this time, he faced his biggest setback.

After a terrible accident left him disfigured, Patrick banished himself to the family ranch, and was living in relative seclusion, aside from visits from Scarlet, the author (and friend), who helped launch is post-dancing career. When Scarlet hired a new housekeeper, Patrick found himself yearning for more connection, particularly, with Lena, but would he be able to overcome his fear of rejection and let so

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

The last book in the Happy Endings series wasn’t my favorite, so I was a little hesitant to pick up Flashed. I waited for reviews from some trusted readers and since they all seemed to love it, I decided to give it a read. I’m so happy I did!

Flashed takes us to the quiet ruggedness of Montana, to a man who was once famous but now hides from the world. After a horrific accident, Pat’s once beautiful body ha

This series (which has been excellent so far) was about due for a grumpy, tortured hero, and Zoey Castile has delivered. Her writing is as open and heartfelt as ever, and she brings us Lena and Pat’s journey deftly. Lena is a delightful heroine with a clear, relatable voice. Pat is flawed, gruff, and irresistibly sweet. I deeply appreciate that when Pat messes up, Lena recognizes the severity of his error and doesn’t just forgive him without thinking.

I was lucky enough to receive this book in a giveaway from Nisha Sharma! I am a lucky girl!!!

This was an absolutely exceptional story. I finished it essentially in one sitting. It has a Beauty and the Beast vibe and the characters essentially falling in love before ever meeting. I absolutely adored it. This is definitely Zoey's best so far and my favorite!!!

I can't wait to see what's next!

People are going to have a lot to say about these covers but I love this damn series. It’s got witty banter, thoughtful stories with a diverse range of characters, just the right touch of soap opera, mad steam (especially this one despite its slow burn / beauty + beast thing it’s got going on), and they’re just so fun. Here for wherever Castile wants to take me next.

Aspiring artist and college student Magdalena "Lena" Martel takes a job as a housekeeper for a mysterious man in a mansion hidden away in the wilds of Montana. She needs the work because her step-mother stole her identity, threatening her dream of finishing school by landing her in loads of debt on top of her student loans.

Flashed grabbed me from the beginning and how could it not? A movie star who secluded himself from the world because of an accident he caused and he young art student who was trying to make her mark on the world while protecting her sister. The premise had a Beauty and the Beast feel because our hero, Pat, was covered in scars and incredibly grumpy. The two communicated mainly via text messages, but their relationship didn't progress in a way that their chemistry felt authentic and long-lasting. ...more

This was the last book of the Happy Ending series and I’m very Sad, but also not really, because this was fantastic. Ay, dios how I love Zoey’s romance. Her characters are so sympathetic, their fears and dreams so real, and to see them grow is a wonderful thing.

Flashed is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and just EXCELLENCE. I do like retellings but I have always felt very meh about Beauty and the Beast, so I was surprised how much I enjoyed the classic moments here. I guess, it does make all t
2.5: This book has kind of a Beaty & the Beast vibe to it, and while I liked the characters, romance didn’t really work for me.

The Beaty is Lena, a Latina art student from Queens, NY who is finishing college in Montana after some family & financial setbacks. The Beast is Patrick, a former soccer star turned stripper turned bad boy actor who got badly injured in a car accident. Patrick is struggling with severe PTSD/possibly agoraphobia and his friend Scarlett hires Lena to help clean Patrick’s

Ay yi yi, you guys! It took me three books or the entire series to figure out why these books cannot surpass 3 stars for me! Since taking a creative writing class, I’ve learned a lot about different writing methods. Creative writing classes make you a stronger writer, but also a more cognizant reader. Maybe too cognizant.

I didn’t realize it before, but a huge portion of these books are written in narrative summary! Which basically means the reader is told about events that have happened to the c

Another strong entry in Castile's contemporary romance series featuring members of a male exotic dance troupe and their heterosexual romances. Our protagonist here is white party-boy Patrick Halloran, who in previous books in the series made a less-than-stellar impression, coming off as uncaring and shallow. But after a car accident for which he was responsible takes away his burgeoning film career, his brother's ability to walk, and his own beautiful looks, Pat has turned into a surly recluse, ...more

A hot slow burn, Flashed is emotional and heartbreakingly romantic. The story follows Pat, a former actor and stripper who has lived most of his life believing that his appearance defined his worth. He was the life of the party, experiencing his first taste of success until a car accident left him scarred and hiding from the world. His friend hires Lena to act as his live-in housekeeper/chef for the next few months in an attempt to get him to start caring about his surroundings again. Pat refuse ...more

I devoured this and was so engrossed that I never even updated my GR status as I was reading. lol. I can say without a doubt, Pat and Lena's book is my fave. I figured no one could top Fallon and Robyn buuuut here we are! This was is sort of a Beauty & a Beast retelling. I got that vibe immediately. Lena goes to work for Pat in his big house, cleaning and cooking for him but he keeps himself hidden because of his scars from the car accident. He even gives the rules

Patrick had it all ... fame, fortune and any woman he wanted until he got so cocky and thought he was invincible. Then the night of his first movie premiere he blows it all and takes his younger brother down with him. Six months later, he doesn’t leave his glass house afraid someone might see how disfigured the accident left him. Patrick’s friend Scarlett hires Lena to cook and clean for him ... basically a babysitter because she’s worried about him. Lena is a student who needs the money to pay ...more

FLASHED was wayyyyyyy better than STRIPPED and HIRED! I don't mean this in a bad way because I enjoyed all of them, but FLASHED is my favorite book in this series! I love the writing style of Zoey Castile and the storyline was SO good. Like I've said before, you can feel the characters turning into life with Castile's writing style. You have no idea how excited I get every time I see a latinx character in a book, and there has been a lot of latinx characters in this series (YAY!). But in FLASHED ...more
