Addie really wants to go to Max's birthday party, but it is a BAD day. Addie won't take her hat off. And she won't tell Max why. Can Max convince his best pal to throw off her cap and join the party?
Robins, J. (1993). Addie’s Bad Day. New York: HarperCollins Publishers. A bad hair cut for a young girl makes it for quite an interesting day. This young girl has to deal with what she feels is a bad hair cut, on a day that her best friend is having a birthday party. The two friends figure out a way to get around the hair problem to attempt to enjoy the party. I like how the story is from the standpoint of a young girl that perhaps gets her first hair cut ever. This is definitely a story that young children can relate to a “hair cut” and their appearance.
I read Addie's Bad Day by Joan Robins. Max had a birthday party but Addie said he couldn't go because he had a bad haircut. Then his hair grew back so he went to his party. The book shows adversity because he had a bad haircut. I give it a five star rating because I thought it was funny when the dog chewed up a jacket. I would recommend this to anyone who likes funny stories.
Addie gets a haircut and she doesn't want Max to know that she has a haircut. She is nervous. Then Ginger got the present and started to open it. And then Max opened the present some more and Addie was mad, but then Addie has an idea. Addie's idea was that when she wore her jungle suit, everyone would not see her haircut. So she could go to the party. Max wore his jungle suit too, so they had a good time at the party.
This is a silly story about a little girl who gets a bad haircut and doesn't want to take her hat off or go to a birthday party. Her best friend, Max, finds a way to make his birthday the best day ever.
