Shift Happens #5

Were We Belong

Rate this book
I need a new freakin’ job.

It’s not what you think. I’m desperate to resign from the Werewolf Treaty Federation aka WTF. Don’t judge. I didn’t name this crew of misfit Shifters so hear me out.

After investigating a deadly Jazz Cabbage outbreak, I discover we need a necromancing Demon to help solve the crime. As luck would have it, my gay Vampyre BFF, Dwayne, dated one of these gems several decades ago. Seems all we need to do is summon his evil butt into this plane of existence and poof, crisis solved. The question is, can we bring him back without causing a flesh-eating, end of the world Zombie Apocalypse?

With my hunky mate, insane Granny and flamboyant Dwayne by my side, we have no choice but to succeed. If we don’t, the reveal of our existence to the human world is imminent.

We are Shifters. Werewolves. WTF. Shift Happens all the time. But this time, we’re making sure only good shift goes down.

Were We Belong by Robyn Peterman
Shift Happens series #5. Final book in the series. Best read in order. Paranormal shifters romance / comedy.
Essie, Hank, Dwayne, Granny and the rest of the WTF crew need to solve a crime to prevent werewolves and the rest of the supernatural world from being exposed to the world. So naturally they need a Demon necromancer and they just happen to have the right connections.

Over the top sarcasm, hilarity and crazy antics. And that doesn’t even include Granny’s new romance! Add in the Bob’s and werecows and it’s all out bedlam.
Sad it’s over, but the author has lots of other series that I will be adding to my tbr.

Essie, Hank, and Granny are back in Chicago working for WTF. Dwayne is with them. They are assigned a case that involves demons and all hell is about to break loose. All this before Essie takes on the WTF and the three Bobs. We also get to meet some new characters… what a hoot! To solve this case and save the day, the gang will need everyone’s help.

We’ll have some fun moments too. The baby shower and WTF office scenes made my belly hurt from laughing. Seriously, this series is snarky, fun, and filled with wicked banter and over the top antics. You’ll even learn new words and phrases.🤣It has its tender moments too, even if they are laced in a bit of humor. I really love this motley crew. 😍

The story was fun with a nice little mystery tossed in. The characters make this series. You’ve got sassy weres, a dragon princess, a gay vampire, were cows, demons, and a granny to set them all straight. I wanna know how Granny carries all the stuff she has in her purse. 🤣

Hollie Jackson rocked Were We Belong. I love her interpretations of the characters and the unique voices she gives them. How she reads this without laughing is beyond me. I’d like to hear some blooper soundtracks! This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

I have never laughed so much while reading a book - ok, probably I have, especially if it’s from Robyn Peterman - this book left my sides aching from laughter. Ms. Peterman delivers a book with interesting characters, an entertaining plot, and endearing characters. There is mystery, action, suspense, and romance, something for everyone to enjoy. I certainly did.

Excellent book! I have read the entire series and love the characters! Essie, Hank, Dwayne( vampire), Granny (vampire and more), the crazy cows, even worse you have the three Bobs. Now normally the craziness would not bother me but you have to add the name of the group, WTF, and my laughter kept going.
Yes, we have a mystery and you add in new characters when you say their names phonetically the laughter begins again. The story has all the key things of action, lots of humor and very unusual romance. I am not talking about Dwayne and his partner, Belphegor , but Granny Sue and Zeernebooch which is another whole new level of courting and romance, lol!
You have plots twists and plenty of surprises, so I highly enjoyed and recommend this book and the rest of the book in the series! I refuse to do spoilers because I do not wait to spoil it for the reader! Robyn, you get 10 stars for this awesome book!

How much inappropriate awesomeness can an author pack into one brilliant story, I swear I laughed more in this book than any other Robyn Peterman book and that's a big call as I find all of her stories seriously hilarious.

Now there's the perfect epitaph for Hank 'He had a good heart and a great ass' I personally think that would look awesome on his tombstone not that I want Hank to die anytime soon especially as he finally got Essie to agree to 10...lol The Were wore her down...lol

Essie as just delightful her mind goes to the most awe-inspiring places that seriously baffle me when I stop laughing that is.

The wedding was wonderful and so were all the individual HEA's most books your happy to get one HEA I loved that everyone got one here it really was the perfect series finale.

Oh my hell....I adored this book. I am so sad to see this series end. Hank and Essie have given us a wild ride. We have met so many wonderful were’s in the stories and it was so great to see them all back for this one. We got answers to lots of questions and it was great to see so many happy endings. The laughs are abundant and make this a joy to read.
My recommendation is if you have a chance to read a Robyn Peterman book.....do it. They are lighthearted and fun and will give you great entertainment.

While this is the end of the series, Hank, Essie, Dwayne, Granny, and the rest of the crew go out in fantastic fashion. The story is snarky, sexy, full of fun, and wrapped up amazingly well. As always, you get a wild, wacky ride from this author. I absolutely loved this one! And as a bonus, I learned more new vocabulary words for various body parts. I also will never attend a baby shower again without thinking of this story. What a way to go out, well done!

Were We Belong is and was phenomenal! The snarky, sassy, twisted humor was so good and seriously funny and outright amusing. The characters really keep you guessing on what they will do next and the story flows at a fast humor filled paced with all sorts of adventures that get crazy entertaining. Its full of surprises and energy and was everything I was looking for, especially in this Shift Happens series.

Goes out with a bang!

Say it ain’t so! The ending of this fantastically, eff’d up series?! Love, love, LOVE Zeernebooch, Belphegor, and Reginald!! I laughed way too hard at the baby shower scene and pretty much the whole book. Best in the series so far!

Tis a silly book. Don’t get me wrong, I like silly, I like punny, I like to laugh and the previous books were all like this.... but this one was over the top. I just got ridiculous at times. I even stopped reading and picked up another book. Contemplated not picking it up again.

I feel a bit like Monty Python... on second thoughts, Camelot is a silly place, let’s not go there.

What do you do when you are working for a council that consists of the initials WTF and there is a case which includes a demon and some jazz cabbage . You call your best vampire friend , you crazy grandma , and the rest of your friends and colleagues . Welcome to Essie's world and they are going to try and stop the world from finding out they exist .
I am so sad to see these characters go . I love Essie she is such a kick butt sassy woman . She takes no prisoners and will take down anyone that is even thinking about harming anyone of her friends and family. Her mate Hank is still so sexy and alpha . They make such a great couple . Granny is back and just as crazy as ever and she has been bitten my the love bug with the demons father that they are trying to save. Dwayne well lets just say you will love this vampyre he is so flamboyant and you will totally love him . But when push comes to shove . He will kick some butt and take no prisoners . There are new characters demons father and son . I am not going to try and spell their names cause I might end up summoning them lol . They are so much fun to read and trust me you will laugh at pappys antics around Granny . The dragons are back to help out and we also have some demon hunters psst Essies's parents and godfather . You will laugh out loud when you read these characters and also fall in love with a few of them .
This book is such a fun fast read . the author takes us on such a fun journey . The characters are such a hoot to read . It is hot smexy and laugh out loud funny with each turn of the page . I have never laughed so hard as the cheese scene in the Bobs office . you have to read it to find out . You will never look at brie the same way again. So if you want a great series to read check them out . I suggest that you read the other 4 books so you know what is going on before reading this one .

A great finish to a great series! When we last left our motley crew, things were settling down. You knew it couldn’t last! Now everything is coming to a head, and the Hung crew needs to save all shifters. Werewolves, Vampyres, Demons, (oh and the Demon Hunters who love them), Dragons, Werepigeons, and a cast of hundreds join in the fight to keep the humans in the dark, and get to the bottom of the problem. With Hank and Essie leading the charge, it’s bound to be a slick and efficient campaign – NOT!

The WTF council (yes, a name change is in order) is being shaken up, and Essie is bringing them into the present. However, cleaning up the past and current messes has got to come first. When Weres are being found dead, the team needs to figure out what is going on and stop it for good.

I highly recommend reading the entire series so that you know the story. I’ve loved this series, and am sad to see it come to an end. However, the threads that we’ve seen in the previous four books are all tied up in pretty bows, and good shift happens!

This is a great book; this is the fifth and final book in the Shift Happens series written by Robyn Peterman. This book is just as good and funny as the other books in this series. I don’t know how this author does it, I had my husband looking at me like I was crazy because I kept laughing. We have all the crazy characters that we love in this book. I sure am going to miss these crazy characters. This is a great book with well-developed characters. Once I started reading this book I didn’t want to put the book down until the end. I can’t wait to read then next book by this author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

So sad!

I hate to see this series finish, but we all know good things come to an end.

A fantastic ride, a fight and a faboo wedding, what more could a reader want.......lots and LOTS of lmao moments!!!!!

Which we got in spades thanks to Zeernebooch and his 'privates' erm monologue.

Trying to read it in bed next to a snoring hubster? DON'T! 😂😂

He will wake up every time you TRY to stifle a snort, snicker or outright belly laugh 😯😁 Death glared thrown in for free 😅

The 'budding' romance is one of nightmares and hilarity 😉😂😂

Would LOVE to revisit this lot few months/years down the line to see how things are working out, world war three etc etc 😁😉

Thank you for a wonderful ride Robyn xxx

I loved this book and the finale to the series. Ms. Peterman did a wonderful job at giving everyone the ending they deserved.

The times they are a changing! That is Essie's new motto. She is now on the council and making lots of changes to make things better. Now other species will benefit from WTF, well until they change the name that is.

The whole gang shows up to show support and defeat the evil that is threatening the Were way of life. Dwayne is still fabulous! Granny is still over-the-top and finds love! You find out more about mom and dad, the Bobs, and Jr. & Sandy have a surprise!!

You will love this book!!

I have to be totally honest here, I have a little bit of a love hate vibe going... I hate that the series is going to end because I love these characters and the completely off the way story-lines. I will miss them, but what a way to go out with a flare of outrageous fun.

As always Robyn Peterman brought here very special kind of crazy to this totally outrageous story. ( I adore her kind of crazy stories in case that is in question) She makes me giggle and sometimes snort with laughter, she makes me wake up the hubby when he is sleeping because I tend to read in bed and her stories leave me feeling like I can go back to the real world a little lighter.

It's always so bittersweet to finish a series, but Robyn Peterman definitely ends this series on a high. After a mysterious Jazz Cabbage outbreak, the gang has to call in the demons to get to the bottom of this latest case, before the Were community is exposed to the human world.

I found myself laughing throughout this book - Peterman always knows how to bring the humor. And the characters are just priceless. This group of crazy supernaturals are so very funny, but also care so deeply for one another. The characters, and species...Robyn throws together bring about the most hilarious plots. I will sorely miss the characters that taught me Jesus's middle name!

A perfect ending to a great series.

Were We Belong was amazing. Hilarious, smexy, loving with a great deal of fun. I will never look at a baby shower the same. Lol.
With this being the last book in this amazing series it was the perfect ending.
This makes me sad and happy.
Mrs. Peterman has a way of making you fall in love with all her characters and to say goodbye to Hung Island make me a little sad, but I know she will bring us new ones to fall for in the future and that makes me so happy.
Make sure you don’t miss this one.
10 stars all the way!

Definitely no disappointments here! The snarky humor this series is famous for is in full force, and every character truly captures your attention. Vampire, werewolf, demon, there are no favorites to be chosen! I am still in a state of disbelief that this is the last in this series! The blurb is a perfect description yet I can tell you the book delivers way more than you will expect! This series is a keeper so make sure to get a copy of all five books! All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

I laughed so hard reading this book! It contains all the usual Peterman elements -snarky humor, lovable, off the wall characters, a bit of sexy heat and a !ot of mayhem. Baby showers and weddings will never be the same! We learn the other names of the Bobs and which is worse, transport by dragon, homing pigeon, or demon. There are a lot of surprises, and a lot of fun. I am sad that this is the end of the series, but what an ending it is! It helps to read the other books in the series first but can be read as a stand alone. I am voluntarily leaving a review. This book is a keeper! Loved it!

I love Essie, Hank, Junior, Dima, Granny and Dwayne. It feels like it’s been forever since the last book. I was so excited for this story to be released and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved having the whole group back together. Essie and Dwayne kicked butt while making me laugh so hard I started to get teary-eyed. Granny was her wonderful crazy self. There were some great characters introduced to the group, old love rekindled and new love found. I seriously couldn’t put Were We Belong down. I really love how the book ends even though I’m sad it’s the last one.
Definitely a book I’d recommend.♥️

I love this series!! I am so sad this will be the last book! This book is just pure fun! Essie and her gang that I have come to love are back in this edition and there are a few new friends. There are several parts where I laughed out loud for like 5 minutes. Ms. Peterman's sense of humor is unparalleled!! This book does wrap this series up nicely and who doesn't love a happy ending. I want to be friends with these characters and will miss them terribly! I recommend this series to anyone, not only is it hilarious, it is action packed and exciting and fun!!

Who knew lettuce could be bad for your health?

Book five of this Author's series sees the story of Essie, Hank, Granny and all bought to a satisfying (if rather bloody) conclusion.
Throw in Demons, were cows and a gay vampire with questionable fashion sense. Stir in dangerous lettuce, the terrifying three Bob's, and magnificent dragons and you have all the ingredients needed for a fantastic story. Ms Peterman,s imagination never fails to amaze me!

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
It was a great book!
This is the final book for this series. ( Sad Face )
As usual, Essie finds herself in trouble.
A lot of drama + action happens.
The whole gang gets involved, and you cannot stop laughing.
Loved the characters + the storytelling!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
Is there going to be a new series ?

So with one last hurrah these sarcastic and witty characters once again set out to kick ass and make things happen. Fast paced and super fun this newest book will keep you turning the pages and laughing until the end.

I will do my best to leave no spoilers. I can't believe this the last book in the series... Once again Robyn hits it out of the ballpark. I laughed, I cried, and I did both at the same time. For me that is the mark of a great author. If you haven't even started the series do yourself a favor... Start! I LOVED this book.

It's the final of the series but that's not a bad thing is it. Robyn wraps up this one with some laughs a bit of smexy and a bunch of well I wont spoil anything.
I do see, hint hint, a new series to come out of this with one of the many characters.
Laugh, tear up as this is the end but as any of her books read them.

Love love love this series! This book wraps up everything and everyone. All the nutty crazies, some new nutty crazies and love and romance and shifters and new demons. Granny and Dwayne find happiness too but not how you'd expect! Highly recommend the series for sexy fun and throw in hilarious encounters. The author has outdone herself.
