Pam Godwin is one of my few go-to auto-buy authors these days, especially for darker romance. And I love and adore this series. Thus, I was very excited to get my grubby little hands on this one.

This book started off really strong. Really strong. The H was deliciously and mysteriously alpha. And the ambiance, the plot, and the connection between the two main characters was off the charts. There was so much tension and chemistry and I was loving it.

Sadly, that tension dissipated way too early in the story (for me, anyway). And the relationship moved just a little too fast. I just found myself skimming a lot in the last fourth of the book (thus my just below four-stars rating); but nonetheless, the strength and deliciousness of the first 3/4 of the book made this still a really good read.

I can't wait to see what Godwin has in store for us next.

Pam Godwin's Deliver series are my absolute favorite dark romance books. There is something special about these books. I love the found family in them, and as dark as they can get, there is always an underlying message of hope.

Unshackle is Luke Sanch's book. Luke is going undercover as the thing he hates the most, but he has good reasoning. He's going to rescue Vera Gomez. Only things aren't as clear cut as he hoped. Along with Vera, there is a girl. She's a fighter, held captive by the La Rocha Cartel. She's been used, abused, and on the brink of death but there is something about her.

Luke has a connection to this girl, and he's not sure if this is going to help or hurt his mission, he only knows he's going to have to be careful. All of their lives are on the line if he's not.

I loved the connection between this couple. Luke could see something in her and even though she thought Luke was someone he wasn't, I think she saw it too. This was a hard book for me to read. Honestly, the older I get the less I like or can even stomach certain aspects of dark romance, but this series is so good and I feel so attached to these characters, I couldn't dream of stopping.

There are two books left in the Deliver series and I can't wait for them. The next one is one that was set up so perfectly, I can't wait to see where it goes. And the final book... well, it's about a beloved character and I couldn't' be more excited!

Unshackle was deliciously dark, full of the best kinds of twists and turns, and brilliantly written. I can't recommend this book and this series enough!

He wanted this tiny little warrior with a ferocity that felt foreign. Inexplicable. Completely out of his depth.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This is hands down, one of my favorite dark romance series to date. I'm absolutely obsessed with it and somehow it only keeps getting better and better with each book. Captivatingly dark and erotically charged, this story owned me. I read it with a pit in my stomach and a sense of dread with every turn of the page just waiting for the other page to turn. Because one thing about Godwin's writing, is the woman is completely unpredictable and isn't afraid to go to the very pits of human depravity and darkness. You never know what you'll get, and this book is proof of that. Godwin is an evil genius and I will never be the same again.
His stare wasn’t a stare. It was a labyrinth. All high walls, dark corners, and confusing dead ends.

Unshackle is Luke's story. As a secondary character, Luke was quite unassuming to me. He never really stood out as a character that I was dying to know more about. And then this book came around and tilted my world on it's axis because his story completely owned me. Luke's beauty and charm is widely known. This is why he's the one that's sent to infiltrate the La Rocha cartel and seduce answers out of Vera Gomez. If you've read Manipulate, then you'll remember Tula's lost sister, Vera.

Nothing is ever as it seems in this world, and soon Luke's mission takes a turn when his attention is grabbed by a fierce captive forced to fight in the ring for everyone's entertainment. He knows the dark reality of the captive women in the compound and knows he can't save them all, but something about this nameless beauty draws him like no other.
The feelings she unleashed in him were unwieldy. Monstrous. Impossible to tame.

I won't give you much more details about the plot, but prepare yourself for an all-nighter. Because this book is completely impossible to put down. With every twist and turn, with every new revelation and secret revealed, you get sucked deeper and deeper. My heart bled for these characters and everything they go through. Godwin spares no punches with her gut wrenching details that I found myself almost sick to my stomach reading parts of the story. It was devastating and never failed to invoke a sense of emotion; whether it was anger, lust, or absolute terror. I lived for these characters and I I live for this series. And the set up for the next one? I. DIE. I absolutely DIE. I need the next book BAD. Although not entirely as bad as the last book because OH MY GAWD. I feel like I've been waiting forever for the enigma that is him and I need my HEA!!!

I love me some "dark romance" every now and then, but I am very picky when it comes to them. There are only a few authors I trust with my "dark" reads and Pam Godwin is definitely one of them.

I have read and loved every single book in the "Deliver" series and while I loved some more than others, they were all freaking amazing, including this one.

I do, however, think that they should all be read "spoiler-free" and so I will do my best to keep any and all spoilers out of my review.

This time we get Luke's story. I have to be honest here and say that I didn't have any feelings whatsoever when it came to Luke when I started his story. I just didn't really know him that well. Thankfully that changed because he is pretty awesome.

Luke (and his sidekick) is going undercover in the La Rocha cartel, to feel out/rescue Vera Gomez (if you've read Manipulated you will know her name). Nothing is as it seems though in the "Deliver" world ...

I definitely had an awesome time reading this one, while sitting on the edge of my seat.

Everyone that knows this series also knows that these books are riddled with triggers, so beware. They should also not be read as stand alones.

Highly recommended and I can't wait to finally get Cole's story!!!

**** 4.5 Stars!!!!****

I am a lover of Pam Godwin’s work, and this series has captivated me from the beginning. I’ll admit, it’s not an easy one to read... it’s dark... VERY DARK!! So if that isn’t your jam, then don’t even try!!! If it is though, then you mustn’t pass this series by! Pam is brilliant and can make you fall in love with the devil!!! I kid you not!!

In this instalment, we are taken into some very sick sex traffickers quarters... Luke and Tomas are on a mission to find a missing sister of their close friends. What they find going on behind closed doors are horrific sights that they will never be able to unsee...and Luke ends up side tracked when he experiences extreme lust for one of the lady captives.
Will his mission be successful, or will he get caught and end up dead? 🤷‍♀️

This story isn’t for the faint of heart. There are a few scenes that are very hard to take.. but it isn’t all dark! The passion that develops between Luke and his lady is hot!!! ( and that is an understatement!!) Their love scenes are so intense and I loved every minute of them! This was a perfect addition to an already brilliant series! I can’t wait for more!

Thanks so much Steph for Buddy reading this one with me! I love reading books with you!!💘

"He wouldn't leave without her."

Unshackle is the seventh book in the Deliver Series. Although each book can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading this series from the beginning. The only way to truly grasp the depth of these characters and the full story of the series is to meet each and every one of them! Luke Sanch is a man on a mission. He has been sent undercover in La Rocha Cartel in order to rescue Vera Gomez. As soon as Luke infiltrates the compound and makes himself at home, things suddenly don't seem to be exactly what he had anticipated. An attraction is sparked with a very unlikely character and everything he is fighting for seems to be slipping through his fingers.

description
"Witchy woman."
"Filthy ginger."
Told in dual POV, Unshackle is a dark contemporary romance with suspense and raw passion. The world in which these characters live is dark and the only thing holding them together is their drive to make the world a better place. The relationship between the central couple in this read is thoroughly explored as they fight their way through a very dark and dangerous situation. As always, Ms. Godwin is a master with her words and she never fails to demand every ounce of emotion from her reader.
"You wreck me."
Overall, Unshackle will appeal to dark romance readers who like to live in the grey. I have been a fan of this series since the beginning and the loyalty, love, and darkness that exists in this ensemble is like no other series I have ever encountered before. I look forward to more Godwin goodness to come!

-He stopped before her and laid his gaze boldly on hers. He didn't move, didn't blink, as if caught in a trance. Or maybe she was the one entranced. His stare wasn't a stare. It was a labyrinth. All high walls, dark corners, and confusing dead ends. No way out.

-She felt heavy, hot, and under attack. He lay siege to her senses, wrecking her ability to think.

-Every skilled touch felt like a sledgehammer crashing into her carefully erected shields.

Unshackle (Deliver #7) by Pam Godwin is a captivating, alluring dark romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's intense, sensual, emotional, and full of suspense, chemistry and beautiful connections. It's a twisted thrilling story about vengeance, danger, survival, hope and trust. The books in the Deliver series are all standalones, but should be read in order. I love this entire series, and can't wait for the last two books! Pam Godwin is truly the queen of dark romance!

Luke and Vera ! What an explosive combination!!!!!

Luke is one of Van’s sex slaves, so obviously he is a Freedom Fighter. The freedom fighters are trying to eliminate De La Rocha Cartel, in the last book Tula killed the big boss in prison but now his sons and stepdaughter are running the business and the freedom fighters need to stop this sex trafficking operation and find Vera Gomes whom at the moment is seem neither as guilty or innocent, no one knows her involvements and Tula her sister refuse to believe she is guilty. So Luke and Tomas go into the belly of the beast infiltrating as sex slaves buyers to implode the operation from inside out and find the truth about Vera Gomes. And wow what a a very satisfying crazy journey that is. Vera is THE BIGGEST BADDIE OUT THERE, maybe only aside from Camilla. Omg I loved her and her fighting spirit. She has a set mind in protecting her sister the only way she can and she has the will to survive whatever they throw at her.
Luke is insanely gorgeous as all Van’s slaves are and he is brutal, talented and dependable, key word BRUTAL. Omg the things that man can do….. 🥵
No secret that this whole series have the most amazing, depraved, animalistic, painful, HOT smut ever. After all the slaves Van and Liv had were all expertly trained to give pleasure, they know every detail about it and they excel in it.
The final scenes in this book is so BADASS that gave me chills……
Now I am going to Tomas book…..

On behalf of the Freedom Fighters, Luke Sanch is on a mission to infiltrate La Rocha Cartel to find Vera Gomez. With traps at every turn, Luke must remain anonymous and go against his instincts to survive.

“In the space of one look, she roused the darkest, most twisted parts of his nature, stirring awake uncontrollable desires and stretching them beneath his skin.”

Steeped in action, the subject matter and tone is dark and gritty with some cringeworthy moments. As the plot develops, it’s unknown who can be trusted and that adds to the tension. With vying interests at play, it becomes a race against time.

“This was why she never subscribed to hope.”

What I enjoyed most about this book is how Luke battled with his natural instinct to protect. Plus, reading the friendship Luke shares with Tomas emphasizes how much of a bond they share. As for Vera, she managed to surprise everyone with her abilities. That said, I wanted a little more development between Vera and Luke and Vera and her sister. Regarding the secondary characters, all proved to be devious along with an interesting element.

Unshackle is a dark romance set in an underworld of corruption and greed. I look forward to reading the final two books of this incredible series.

Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Book 7 of 9 from Deliver series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Luke Sanch’s assignment was straightforward: determine whether or not his target Vera Gomez was friend or foe. But what he faced might not be as simple as it seemed, especially when it involved matters of the heart.

I’ve been following this series since book 1 from years ago. What I love the most about it is how the author never afraid to lay out the darkness and the grit. By book 7, I was hoping there’d be some novelty on a certain element of the relationship. But that didn’t happen and I rather the books stopped echoing each other.

She secretly harbored wishes about him. Recklessly whimsical hopes. The kind that only came true in fairy tales. Because there were no white knights in Casa de La Rocha.

I liked both of the characters. Though I have to say, the insta-love somewhat threw me off, especially from one of them. I liked that they’re badass in their own way, while still realistically showed their humanity.

Unshackle is a story of sacrifice and survival. It would appeal to readers who enjoy the grittier side of Dark Romance.

This was a much-anticipated book 7 of the Deliver series and was definitely worth the wait. The beginning of the book was gripping. I was hooked! Constantly piquing my curiosity about how the rest of the story would play out that I have to keep reading. It keeps me up way too late at night. But I loved it!

Unshackle was raw, dark, unapologetic, and beautiful. The characters were developed well with flaws and strengths. They were interesting and I found I was emotionally caring and rooting for Luke and Vera. The pace of the story was fast and really gave the reader an inside glimpse of what's going on at the La Rocha Cartel. Then there's the twist and turns that are superbly written and that I didn't expect. The writing was amazing and the storyline kept me engaged. In the end, you're still ready for more. Don't miss this riveting story. If you've read the previous novels all the better. I absolutely enjoyed this one and highly recommend it for those who are looking for a dark romance read.

Hop the fuck on, on this crazy wild ride Of Freedom Fighters through Trauma, Bloodshed and solidarity
Each member sexier, hotter and more determined than the last. They're zealously dedicated to their cause, often putting their lives on the line. Mottled with battle scars and medals of love, it's such a joy to see a series that doesn't loose the tempo as it progresses. On the contrary, it keeps getting more intense, more daredevil and more dangerous. The series though is a continuous motion of restitution, a saga of redemption through retribution and destruction of Underbelly of the world, each book is a separate story in itself. Each tale brings fresh look at rusty, thorny situations, where Love has no business blooming, but Pam has mastered the art of finding elusive love in dark hovels of the underworld.

description

My heart was in my throat throughout this magnificent book, where Noble, Dauntless, Beautiful inside out Luke Sanch is on a retrieval and rescue mission to infiltrate La Rocha cartel. The most aggressive, most organized, most violent cartel in existence.

description

I can't give you any more details. Although I want to shout about it from the rooftops.
This 7th book in Vigilante Series Is simply THE BEST. Feelings were leaping off the pages and sticking in my heart like quills. They're sharp, stinging, cutting emotions, soothed only as the story progresses.
Pam is in her element, coloring, shading the story with dark hues, some downright barbaric scenes and obviously panty melting sex.

description

There's violence, subterfuge, bursting sentiments, lust, cruel retribution and cringe worthy punishments. Amidst it all is wild, raw bursting forth love.
Tighten your seat belts and takeoff your panties, it's gonna get hot, moist and ripping mayhem soon

Seventh installment in the Deliver series, Unshackled follows the breathtaking story of Vera Gomez and Luke Sanch.

"His stare wasn’t a stare. It was a labyrinth. All high walls, dark corners, and confusing dead ends."

Sent by their vigilante group, the Freedom Fighters, to free Tula's sister (cf. Manipulate, the previous opus), Luke and Tomas find themselves caught in the web of the Ramos brothers.

To say that that book gripped my would be an understatement, once started, I couldn't stop reading.

"The more you defy me, the closer and meaner I get.”

Frantic, twisted, hot, gruesome, suspenseful, their journey had kept me on the edge of my seat. I had my theories and suspicions, all the while trying to remain sane in spite of the fervor of the scenario.

When a ruthless alpha hero meets a badass resilient heroine, the atmosphere cracks with electricity. I bit my lip, cringed, smiled and screamed, being immersed in their world.

"Death would be waiting. At the bottom of the fall. At the end of his tongue. If she orgasmed, it would break her.

There isn't much else I can tell you really, spoiling this Mrs. Godwin would be a shame. But keep in mind that Luke's story became one of my favorites of the series.

This is another freaking amazing book to add to the series. I couldn't put this book down, I had to know what was going to happen next. This is the story of Luke with Thomas at his side trying to locate Vera and either end her or rescue her. There were a lot of twist and turns. If you have read the series then you know where and what Luke has endured which was so much but "Gina" has to be one of the strongest heroine that I have read in a long time. There were moments where I was holding my breath thinking OMG what is going to happen, how can she last. This story does have triggers of rape and spiders. Yes I said spiders and wowziers I will be thinking about that scene for a long time. Oh and Frizz made an appearance( really want his story). Pam in an author that can make you think you're in the story with the way she writes. Thank you Pam Godwin for allowing me to follow you through this journey. I think you and your stories are amazing!!!

Five dripping darkness stars

Unshackle is book 7 in the Deliver series and oh boy what deliciously sinful beauty this author delivers. Sometimes the label of dark romance is given out way too easy, but only a few can bring to the table the real stuff and you can always trust Pam Godwin to do it flawlessly.

If you’re familiar with this series you know what to expect, if you still haven’t read book one my question is “what are you waiting for?” If you’re a lover of dark romance this is a must read of epic proportions. I wish I could say the author takes you by the end and guides you into this dark web, nope, I won’t lie, she blatantly shoves you in but just as she is brutal in her welcoming she is a master at handling the situation, and you can trust her to get you safely on the other side.
Will she skirt the line? Definitely yes! But, trust me, you will thoroughly enjoy it! You will undoubtedly question yourself for enjoying this, but enjoy you will, and so did my kindle which caught fire a couple of times... so yes this story is as dark as is steamy, scorching hot.

Luke Sanch is on a mission his dark and brooding self is on his way to Vera Gomez, he has a plan and he’s confident in its execution but what happens when nothing is what it seems and what he thought he knew turns out to be a lie?

Shake off your fears and step into this dark world Luke will give something you didn’t know you wanted until now.

“Are you ready?”
“Fuck no.”
“Good girl. Stay on your toes. But know this…” He bent in and grazed his lips along her cheek. “No one will touch you but me.”
“Is that supposed to ease my fragile little rabbit heart?”
“There’s nothing fragile about you, and I’m counting on that.”

Man, did this book hit the ground running. This is another one that I devoured in less than a day, which is rare for me. I’ve now binged on three books from this series in a row, and I really don’t know what I’m going to do with my life when I’m done with this series.

Anyway…this is Luke’s story. The main thing we know about Luke is that he is the super hot one. Even more so than the other vigilantes which is saying a lot! He uses his looks to manipulate, connive, and slither into (or out) of whatever predicament he and the Freedom Fighters find themselves in.

This story starts off where Manipulate left off. Luke and Tomas are infiltrating the La Rocha cartel in search of Tula’s sister, Vera Gomez.

Right off the bat, nothing is ever what it seems in this dark and gritty world that Godwin has so beautifully created. Allies can be enemies. And seeming enemies may be more.

Luke is thrown into the chaotic and bloody world of the cartel where every decision is crucial. Appearances are vital, and to stay under the radar, he must truly take on the persona of a human slave owner, the thing he loathes the most.

“It seems every path I’ve taken, every decision I’ve made, all of it was meant to lead me here just so I could hear my name pronounced on your tongue.”

Do not underestimate my words when I say that this was one of the darkest installments of this series. There’s rape, brutal fighting, graphic bloodshed, and a scene with some spiders that I will be having nightmares about for a LONG time to come.

But Luke was also among the most romantic of the vigilante men. I adored how fiercely protective he was of Vera.

25564579

“Our souls match, and I don’t think it’s accidental. It’s as if they were merged together long ago, separated, and are finally reconnecting.”

The only issue I had with this one was the delivery of the female narrator on the audio. Her accent sounded so forced, like a bad impersonation. Now, being a Spanish speaker myself with many family members who speak English as a second language, I know I’m particularly sensitive to this. But I also know that NO ONE actually speaks English like this, regardless of how thick their accent is. It just took me right out of the story every time. Her internal POV was natural (no forced accent). I wish she just would’ve used it for the whole narration. I finally had to stop listening to her and read the chapters in her POV instead.

Other than that, this was another intense, unputdownable installment of this brilliant series. Dark romance GOLD!!!

I have to say this series just keeps getting better and better. Its been while since we had something from this series so I've been eagerly waiting and wasn't disappointed at all. Bring on the cartel and the darkness. These books get darker as the stories go on and sometimes it does get hard to read in parts but there are also parts that soften the blow. With the mixture of dark and lil bit of light it makes it a brilliant read.

I've been looking forward to Luke's story for a while. Things haven't been easy for him but he came out the other end and now is stronger than ever. Putting himself in dodgy situations like he did in this book. He has no fear no matter what he does. Until he finds the beautiful lil fighter who change everything.

I don't want to say to much about the story dont want to give anything away. But know if you have read this series your goin to luv this. The story is great from the start. It had me gripped to see how it was goin to work out. Its one thing this author is good at and it keeping you on the edge of your seat till the end. The characters are also amazing Luke is so sexy and knows what he wants. Once him and Gina start there lil war against each other they can't help the connection they have. Gina is a brilliant strong woman the things she has to go through is terrible and my heart breaks for. But no matter what is thrown at her she gets back up she has a plan and she will see it through no matter what.

I would highly recommend this book but do be warned there are dark elements through the book and I did find a few parts hard. There written in a great way like all this series is but if you luv dark read this book is amazing. I wouod recommend reading them in order though as recommended by the author. You will understand the story so much better.

Ahh! I absolutely loved Pam Godwin and her dark, depraved and delicious Deliver series. I have been looking forward to Luke's book for years and boy did this book deliver (no pun intended!) He is on a mission and his heroine was the mack truck that he didn't see coming!! I loved this story so so much!

Anyone that has read this author before knows what to expect: brilliant storytelling, shocking gut punches and thrilling and fantastic writing that is unparalleled. I loved this book so so much. Luke was everything you could want in a hero: sexy, edgy and full of the darkness we've come to love and expect from this author. I seriously can not wait for more from this author in the future! 5 stars! ~Ratula ❤

EXHILARATING ... THE MOST DARKLY ROMANTIC OF THE DELIVER SERIES

“By the end of this, his hands would be covered in blood. Vera Gomez’s blood.”

What if the love of your life is your sworn enemy? This made-to-order disaster in the making may have unshackled Luke in many ways, but the love story actually shackled my heart in the best way. It was the most whacked-out, sexy, dirty romance of the series. Absolutely nothing in the Deliver series prepared me for how hard and fast I would fall into the latest love match between cartel royalty Vera Gomez and vigilante sex traffic hunter Luke Sanch. Pam Godwin is such a brilliant writer. She crafts compelling stories that are so beguiling and original that I’m sucked into the vortex without even realizing it, so utterly and completely that I can’t stop reading in one sitting until the very last page. Everything in my life melts away as soon as I begin reading -- the addictive Deliver series is now literally part of my DNA.

This sexy and tortuously spine-tingling undercover mission takes place after Manipulate (#6) and had me a nervous wreck on pins and needles, but totally absorbed in a fatalistically dangerous charade. There would be no good outcome or quick rescue if things go south for the heroes. Put all the previous Deliver series books behind you and focus on a vigilante mission like no other where anything goes. Luke Sanch and roommate Tomas Dine go it alone on enemy turf when they pose as wealthy sex slave buyer John Smith and his bodyguard at the remote compound of the notorious La Rocha Cartel. Luke’s impossible mission is to locate and kill the cartel’s supposed ringleader, Vera Gomez, and escape with their lives. Vera’s a legendary beauty – a human Venus flytrap to all men -- and the half-sister of Tula Gomez who now belongs to the same vigilante group after her grisly incarceration in prison with Luke’s fellow vigilantes and bi-sexual lovers, Ricky and Martin. The trio survived that hell-hole prison together, exposed some dark secrets, and so much shit went down before they all escaped as a ménage couple.

On this mission, Luke is all business when they arrive. Without an exact GPS location or fast rescue, Luke and Tomas are literally on their own and could be in a world of hurt, even die despite all their covert training, if their cover is blown. Let’s face it, the ruse has a million potholes and Luke needs to keep his head in the game at all costs. It sickens him that that he has to do vile things that compromise his principles because the end justifies the means. Pam keeps things frosty and snappy all the way through and the reader is as much in the dark as the undercover pair about what they may face. This is one of the group’s touchiest and trickiest missions – to infiltrate enemy turf and assassinate the ringleader. WTF. La Rocha is the most violent cartel in existence. So OMG, if this setup doesn’t get your blood pumping in anticipation of some exhilarating action and bloodcurdling situations, nothing will.

The twist is there’s mistaken identity involved, among other things. Regarding who? It’s a killer problem, but my lips are sealed. The dark and intriguing mission swept me up in the unrestrained evil of the cartel and the family of vile siblings that run it. My mouth hung open in shock more than it was shut. Don’t worry. You’re in for a boatload of surprises, some stomach-clenching encounters, lots of mouthy banter, edgy dialogue, and characters sometimes too smart, or dumb, for their own good. As darkly dark as Pam’s romances can be, this one really took me by surprise. It is without a doubt -- in my humble opinion -- one of her most, if not the most, romantic coupling in the Deliver series. I mean seriously, seriously romantic. The kind of romantic where the couple is so in sync and impossibly in love that they’ll literally do or sacrifice anything for each other. A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G. For me, the swoon level was Max 10.

As always, the road is deadly and rutted with bad decisions. Surprises are littered everywhere like booby-trapped landmines, and there are so many costly setbacks that I lost count and was hyperventilating. The kinetic energy was off the charts and really amped up as the story unfolded. Hope was forsaken, then soared only to be dashed again, and ultimately I had no fucking clue where the outcome would lead. I hated, loathed, loved, reviled, and respected the hell out of characters, and Vera and Luke are on a pedestal of love right now as the couple to beat. If you haven’t read the previous books in the series or have forgotten them, never fear. Pam does a masterful job of reminding the reader of back-story connections in a way totally organic to the story. There’s a running play on words with the title, and the camaraderie between Luke and Tomas was special – he was also Luke’s voice of reason. But, kick-ass, intelligent Vera made me proud to be a girl. The impossibility and raw beauty of the romance was riveting. I need some decompress time before highly anticipated DOMINATE (#8) releases in January 2021. Reach out your grabby hands for this one and get your read on, now!

“We fit, and not just on a physical plane. It’s molecular. Indescribably elemental.”
“He was a language without words. Unshackled in love and united in war.”
“In that defining moment between love and hate, heaven and hell, life and death, she lost her heart, definitively, irrevocably. It was his.”

'Unshackled' is the seventh book of the best selling series 'Deliver' by the author Pam Godwin. Told in dual perspectives , get ready to finally read Vera and Luke's story!!

I have read a few books with a plot twist like this one. I knew what was coming but that didn't make it any less thrilling!! The way the author has written this book was amazing and I was hooked right from the start and didn't stop reading until the very end. This series is my new obsession and I am not even ashamed!

Luke and Vera's story was not an easy one. Just like every other book in this series , this one was also dark and had a lot of triggers. Triggers like non con and Demeaning behaviour was involved. The one thing I loved about this was that the heroine in this book was definitely one of the strongest characters of this series! She was a trained fighter and I loved the way she never gave up even after so many hardships through her life.

Vera is the woman Luke is assigned to get close to. He has to talk to her and get her back to her sister. What he finds odd is her behaviour. She is not the one who entrances him. It is the Broken fighter who has caught his eye and not the woman he is supposed to trap. His easy job is suddenly the most difficult one now. Gina has not had an easy life. Now she is bought by an unknown man and there is no way she is letting him break her. She will survive because that is the one thing she has always done no matter what life threw at her!

The storyline of this book was so amazing! There were dark parts that had me gulping back shudders but then that was the best thrill about this book. A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there! Like I said before , this book is not at all contemporary and has a lot of triggers like human salvery , non con , physical torture and abuse.

So I tried to read books 1 and 2 of this series in the past and DNF'ed both of them bc I didn't like the hero/heroine in book 1 and the heroine in book 2. Ultimately I just decided that the vibe of this series was not my jam and never thought about it again. UNTIL I found out that Cole from One is a Promise was getting a book, and I said yes pls

description

So in preparation for that, I dived back in mid-series to see what these characters have been up to, and consider me pleased to read that they're no longer propagating sex slavery, but instead are a team of Freedom Fighter's (yes the name is pretty cringey and on the nose) but at least they're working against the practice so let's give it up for Van for growing a conscience after years of vile immorality

description

Love a king that's scraping the bottom of the barrel of human decency. I'm not even being sarcastic, sometimes that rly b what I like. Moving on, when we first met our heroine for this book, she is this tiny feral thing going up against a guy twice her size in a fighting pit. She's less skilled, much weaker, but dominates through sheer rage, determination, and cleverness. I don't know if anyone watches The Boys but this heroine was giving me Kimiko vibes

description

and I'm *obsessed* w Kimiko so I was hooked and v excited about this story. But then we talked to her.... and she was kind of blah :/ And Luke (H) is blah. So together they're blah blah. I didn't feel their connection and I didn't feel connected to them as individual characters. Also the plot fell flat. Their adversaries were stupid and I swear the whole purpose of the lackluster plot was to lead us into undoubtedly one of the most fucked up sex scene I've ever read.

description

And I've read some shit so I don't say that lightly. There was one good twist tho!! That I really didn't see coming but I can be pretty dumb about things like that and in retrospect it made a convenient amount of sense. Even though this was a let down, I still have faith in 💘Cole💘 and hope he gets a badass chick and an action packed book

Wow! I’ve just finished another awesome reading experience in the Deliver series courtesy of Pam Godwin!

This series wrecks me more with every book I read. It doesn’t get boring, it is never the same and the MCs are all hot, dark and dirty which equal the best components of a great book.

Everyone should enjoy the totality of this book so I’ll be brief and vague in my description.

Book #7 in the Deliver series is all about Freedom Fighter Luke who is travelling under the pseudonym of John Smith to infiltrate the La Rocha Cartel that is holding Vera Gomez (the sister of Tula from book #6) captive. He is travelling with Tomas who was the 3rd captive held immediately before him by Van and Liv. ‘John’ is looking to purchase a sex slave from the Cartel and is accompanied by his assistant/bodyguard Tomas.

Luke meets Vera when he arrives at the Cartel compound. She is as beautiful as he has been led to believe but he is distracted and immediately feels something tug at him when he sees the passion and tenacity of a girl who has to fight for her life as part of the evening entertainment. Luke gives her the name Gina. She is not part of his plan but after spending time with her Luke vows that he will not leave her behind.

Luke tries to retain his stoic, impassive facade and asks Tomas to help him stay on track. At times I felt Luke was definitely channeling Van! Gina breaks down his barriers and the chemistry between the 2 is explosive.

This book like it’s predecessors contains some dark elements that may be triggers for some such as rape, torture, murder and spiders (yes I meant spiders that is not a typo). Pam Godwin a master of her craft weaves these twisty dark elements into a story of hope, passion, strength and love which certainly made me fall in love with this series and the individual characters featured in each one.

Can’t wait for Book #8 Dominate about Tomas which is due for release in January 2021.

For all my GR friends that love this series this is another must read and for all my friends that haven’t read it yet - what’s taken you so long I’ve gone on about how much I love it for ages.

This woman… She was the living reality of the only dream he’d ever dared to want for himself, the most precious, indestructible, viciously beautiful creature in and out of any fantasy. She was an impossible possibility in the flesh.

I absolutely, completely loved this book! Totally devoured it from beginning to end. First, this is one of my most favorite series by one of my favorite authors. Pam can write dark, twisty and filthy delicious like no other. She’s a total master at this, and this book is no exception. After reading Manipulate, I was dying for Luke and Vera’s story. I was definitely intrigued about Vera and what was going on with her after the events of the previous book.

I completely loved the twists and turns of the story and that nothing was what it seemed! It completely caught me off guard and I was totally into it. I totally loved Luke and Vera and their story, it was fantastic. It’s really hard to keep me interested, especially with such long series, but Pam is totally a master storyteller and the stories keep introducing new and fresh plot lines. I’m also super hooked on the backstories, and all the ins and out regarding the Freedom Fighters and their enemies.

Like I said, this is one of my favorite series! It’s dark, twisty and extra hot. I love the plots, the characters, the pacing, everything. I can’t wait for Tomas story and of course my baby Cole. His book is absolutely one of my most anticipated ones.

“Our souls match, and I don’t think it’s accidental. It’s as if they were merged together long ago, separated, and are finally reconnecting.”

“Maybe we were born for this exact moment. Deliberately designed to find each other and bind on a level that we can’t comprehend.”

“Fated. You believe that?” She slid a hand beneath his shirt and touched his chest, the muscle there hard and ridged with definition.

“With you, anything is possible.”

Another OUT-fucking-STANDING book in one of my favorite dark romance series!!

Deliver Series fans...
You’ll want to read this one!

This dark and deliciously twisted saga continues with all the nail-biting goodness that Pam expertly delivers with each book.

I love the way this author pushes boundaries, makes you question your morals, yet makes you fall fast and hard for the main characters.

Not gonna lie, I have a girl crush on the heroine, Vera. Which is not surprising, because Pam creates the most badass heroines who get caught up in the worst situations, but they can, and will, fuck you up.

And Luke Sanch... I’ve been intrigued by him from earlier in the series. To finally experience him up close and personal, to get inside his head, was a beautiful thing.

In an evil world of sick, depraved, and heartless men, Mexican cartels, and sex trafficking, I couldn’t help but devour this book. I didn’t want to put it down. It was an emotional roller coaster I didn’t want to get off of.

So wicked.
So intoxicating.
Downright painful to read at times.

Some scenes will make you cringe, some will definitely make you want to close your eyes, maybe even set your kindle down for a break.

And yet, within the crazy whirlwind of a story, wrapped up in a nice wrinkled and disheveled, little bow, is a fierce and powerful love story. One that hooked its claws into my heart and didn’t let go.

I can’t recommend this book enough.

Have you read the other six books?
If not, you should.
Then come dive into this one. If you’re a lover of dark romance, you will be glad you did.
