Feared like death, worshipped like light;
He was my breath, and I was poisoned at first sight.

Just as the earth was round, I, Bianca Di Vaio, have always been sick. I’d spent most of my life confined in my room, secluded in my mansion, and off-limits to all the men who worked for my father, the kingpin of Manhattan.

Then one night, I heard his voice.

This novella is a part of the Prison Saints series. I absolutely loved the first book in this series (The Jack's Heart - previously titled Prison Promise), and have been so excited for more, so I was thrilled to learn that this novella would be the lead in to the next full-length book in the series, The Knight's Rose. It provides an introduction to the characters and their background, and set the scene for what is sure to be an emotional and intense read.

Ceifador X by Demi Vice is the Prequel to The Knight's Rose and is a part of the Prison Saints Series.
Bianca has been isolated due to her father's orders because she was a sickly child and know a young women. Only having a nanny to look after her and the nanny isn't a nice person. Bianca's father is a kingpin of Manhattan, so things are not good there. So when she starts getting visits from Antonio a older man who lives in the house that we learn is a hired killer of her becomes the

Soon as I put down the jacks heart I immediately got this one on my kindle download. Though it’s a novella, I enjoyed it even more and can’t wait for the knights Rose next year. It was pretty dark and even managed to make me feel a little uncomfortable with the age gap. But I like it when a book has the ability to make my skin crawl (contemporary romance who?). Give me raw, unfiltered filth over hearts and flowers any day. I think it’s best to go into this one not knowing anything so I won’t go ...more

Such a delicious teaser story, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. I LOVE books like this so, so much... they're my favourite, and it made me want to read the next book like NOW. I can't wait to explore full potential and vengeance these characters will bring.

Ceifador X will suck you in craving for The Knight's Rose!

Even though Bianca was dying I felt sorry for her being confined to her room when she should be out exploring the world. Her father may be the kingpin but I feel she is his secret and he neglects her.

Antonio is a lost and tortured soul who fights with his inner demons. A Knight of the kingpin of Manhattan.

A forbidden love that could give a dying girl and a lost soul of an older Knight hope.

Is Bianca Antonio's Rosa?

Can't wait for Knight's

I'm very intrigued by what I've read in this, a prequel to the Knight's Rose - its unusual and could be considered quite nasty / deviant / sick, whereas it just really made me want to read the next book pretty sharpish.

I haven't ready Demi's first book, Jack's Heart, so her writing is new to me, but considering how new an author she is this was a fantastic achievement that had be captivated and engrossed within the first few pages - but it won't be for everyone!

Ceifador X is a prequel to Demi Vice's Prison Saints #2 novel (coming in 2020) and is the backstory of Bianca di Viao and Antonio Castille. Bianca is the very ill daughter of a mafia boss. She is imprisoned in a gilded cage in her father's mansion seeing no one but her father and her nurses. Antonio is one of Mr. Di Viao's hitmen. Antonio sneaks into Bianca's room to learn about the caged bird that no one talks about and finds a very lonely, sickly girl.

This prequel is the type that makes you

When I read this blurb the first time, I was curious.
When I saw this cover, I was shocked.
When I read this prequel... I need more!

Ceifador X is a prequel to the Knight's Rose. It is a short story about Bianca and Antonio.
When everything started.

OK, I don't know what to write about this book. It was a 1hour reading, but pleasure was so big, that I remember every word in this book.
It was angsty AF!

Before I even get into this review please note the note at the bottom of the synopsis: *CEIFADOR X is a PREQUEL to THE KNIGHT’S ROSE and must be read beforehand* Ceifador X ends with a cliffhanger and will continue in The Knight’s Rose. This book contains steamy, graphic and taboo material between an older man and a younger girl that might be offensive for some.

Please be aware of this before you read. It is somewhat graphic and I am sure that the rest of this series will be as well.

This book captivated me from the start and I simply couldn't put it down. I found so much darkness in the book but I feel the author balanced it out perfectly with light and hope. Bianca broke my heart. Her dad has locked her away for her own protection he says but the poor girl lives a life of isolation and illness and her only daily contact is her "nanny" who is anything but and is, in my opinion, a horrible human being. When one night she hears a male voice outside her door she gets her first ...more

In the Novella, Ceifador X, author Demi Vice gives a taste of what's to come in the Knight's Rose. A quick and intriguing read, Ceifador X both sets the scene and piques the reader's curiosity. A sick and sequestered young girl, and a seemingly deviant man are introduced as the main characters. I enjoyed the descriptions of each character, and found Antonio in particular had me forming all kinds of theories and questions, as to where author Demi Vice may take this story.

When I first started reading this book, my thought was this is going to be a quick read somehow my brain miss the part where this was a prequel of the real book until I was into the second page. I had to stop and go back to read what was say about the book because that is all it took me to understand that this book was anything but a quick read.

I start and I could stop, with every page, every word I wanted more, so I keep checking how much pages I got left not wanting the book to be over yet.

Bianca is a young teen who has been hidden away from the world by her father. She’s ill and has been kept a secret from the dangerous men that work for her father. Late one night her voice is heard by a deadly man who works for her father.

Antonio is drunk and wandering around the mansion is places he doesn’t belong. He hears the voice of a young girl hollering behind a closed door. Little does he know that this young girl could be the end of him if her father ever discovers his interactions

Part of the Prison Saints series. While book one, The Jack's Heart can be read as a standalone, Ceifador X is the stunning prequel to The Knight's Rose, and you must read them together. I adored book one , and have been looking forward to this story, knowing that Antonio had a small, mysterious appearance. The prequel introduces us to sickly Bianca, and her sheltered, isolated world, from childhood to young adulthood. She's got precious little to look forward to, and the illicit visits from the ...more

This felt like a fast emotional take-down.
I am still reeling a bit from the events and the abrupt ending that just left me grasping for some semblance of sanity ...
I get that was the point but I am terrible when it comes to waiting.

Vice tosses us into the murky depths with absolutely no guidance with this one.

We meet the players -
Antonio so deviously unstable
Bianca the innocent little girl with so many secrets

We get some bricks on which to begin the foundation -

I shouldn't have read this. I knew before I started it that I shouldn't have read it. Not because it's awful, but because now I want to read The Knight's Rose and I have to wait until next year.
This is a short read and I read it fairly quickly. After I'd finished The Jack's Heart I couldn't resist reading the next in the series, even if I knew that this was a prequel to the next 'proper' book.
Despite all my moaning, I really enjoyed Ceifador X. It's a very dark story but in a good way. I have

I was blown away by Demi Vice’s debut novel Jack's Heart, which is also the first book in her Prison Saints series. When I heard about her new novella, Ceifador X, (pronounced Say-fah-dur) I became so excited, I couldn’t wait to read it! I fell in love with Demi Vice’s words last year with Prison Promise (new title is The Jack’s Heart).
Ceifador was the perfect novella- teaser for the new series.
Antonio and Bianca have my heart. They were so wrong for each other that it made them right.
I can’t wait to dive into the series and get the answers to the questions this one left me with.

This is the first book i've read from this author. She does a nice job painting a picture of this taboo love affair.
There is no sex in this short story but a slow teasing affair. Bianca is a 15yo very sick girl that is a prisoner in her own home. Due to her sickness she is not able to go outside into the world for fear of getting worse. Biancas dad is a very dangerous powerful man and his " employees" live in the same house. So without giving to much away, A man, a very much older, dangerous

You’re going to Hell. Not just Hell, but Hell’s Hell.

Ceifador X is a dark romance about a sick fifteen-year-old girl and a very dangerous twenty-nine-year-old man. It's a novella-length, prequel to Knight's Rose, so it actually just gives us the information on how the characters met and why there is this hate/love relationship. Also, it skimmed the surface of character development as well. The plot is intriguing and there are moments that are quite

Well that was kinda weird. It was hard to get past the whole she’s 14 and he’s 28 thing (both having their bday coming up soon). Even when Bianca just turned 15 and him 29 still made it creepy. I maybe would’ve been a little more receptive if they didn’t get physical. Also Antonio’s and Lorenzo’s relationship is weird. It seems at times like they could’ve crossed the line and had their own physical relationship in past or present. I REALLY enjoyed Demi Vice book Prison Promise (before it

This was the first read for me from this author. I founding it oddly interesting. Its an age thing working and let me tell you, the wide span between them big tabooish but its also the draw kind of.

I found myself very sad for Bianca and her life's circumstance. So it was almost like yeah turn away and pretending it's not happening. Then because double standards are what they are, I wasn't really happy with Antonio, his only saving grace? was that we know he is a bad guy.

This is a beginning so

This is the second book within this Prison Saints series from this author. The first one I absolutely loved, this one not so much. I felt that it was written in a bit of a confusing way. I personally felt that it was a bit all over the place. It's just a prequel to the next book coming in the series where it looks like we will be getting Antonio's whole story which I'm hoping is just as good as the first full book in the series. Now having said that, just because this one book wasn't my favorite ...more

Well, I thought this would be an intriguing read and it was to a point. The hero was a mysterious 29 yr guy who had many creepy ways about him, but he did seem to want to brighten our heroines day a bit. Now here’s where I’m not happy, our heroine is a sick, trapped, bratty 15 yr old girl who insists on throwing herself at him. There’s no actual intercourse between them but things get pretty hot and I felt it was unnecessary for her to be so young and the character should have been older, it ...more
Bianca is a fifteen year old girl locked behind a door by her Mafia Kingpin father. She has been sickly all her life and has no connection to the outside world. Antonio is twenty-eight, one of her father's hit men, an alcoholic and has anonymous sexual encounters with women. Great novella! This is the prequel to The Knight's Rose. You meet Bianca, the sickly sheltered mob boss daughter, and Antonio the deadly assassin he employs. Her father never tells anyone he has a daughter and her wing of the house is off limits to everyone. Antonio, while drunk to drown out his demons, finds himself at her door. This is a dark, yet touching give and take between the two yet he knows she needs to stay away. It's not just the huge age difference, or who her father is, but his ...more

Ceifador X is the prequel to The Knight's Rose, book one of the new series from this new to me author. We were given a glimpse to its main characters, Bianca and Antonio. Bianca was mostly caged her whole life because of a sickness. She wanted to live, even for a moment. While Antonio wanted to find a meaning to his life, a reason for living. These two are touched with darkness, whether by their own making or a product of their surrounding. This is an age gap, taboo romance and end in a sort of ...more

I’d never had guilt eat me from the inside out. But falling for the dying girl who was far too young for me made my whole body, my heart, my soul, hollow inside.
Wow! This book was intense. This was my first mafia book and I loved it! I get that some people will be turned off with the taboo subject of a younger girl/ older man but for me it really brought out the torment you feel Antonio go through. He wants Bianca but he can’t have her because she’s too young & his bosses daughter. I cannot
