Capturing the Cavedweller's Heart

Archaeologist Hannah Clayton has the unique talent of clearly imagining the past as she unearths artifacts in the present. When she stumbles across a cave with a wall of hidden petroglyphs, she’s giddy with excitement. At least until a man dressed like a caveman appears out of nowhere and scares her witless. Inexplicably drawn to the cavedweller who calls himself Thor, Hannah has to decide if he’s involved in an elaborate hoax or if he’s a walking miracle. Thor is unlike any man she’s ever encountered. From the moment they meet, she knows nothing will ever be the same. He acts as though he adores her, makes her laugh, and fills her world with more joy than her heart can hold. But are the bonds they share strong enough to keep Thor beside her and prevent his return to the past? A sweet romance, Capturing the Cavedweller’s Heart takes readers on a lighthearted journey sprinkled with tidbits of history and wrapped in the hope of lasting love. With our 25th wedding anniversary rapidly approaching, I wanted to give my beloved Captain Cavedweller something special, something unique. But what? After several days of mulling over various options, the idea for this story popped into my thoughts. I hope, dear reader, it will bring you smiles and warm your heart.

Thor, clan chief from 10,000 BC, retreats into his hidden cave to fashion more petroglyphs when he stumbles upon the most beautiful woman he has ever encountered. She is wearing garments he has never seen before. Archeologist Hannah Clayton is searching the same cave looking for ancient artifacts and never in her wildest dreams does she expect to discover Thor, an artifact who is very much alive! Thus begins this romantic adventure of time-travel, discovery, attraction and eventually love. Hannah is portrayed by the author as lovely, intelligent, curious and very much take-charge. Cave man Thor, on the other hand, is impossible to categorize but everyone he meets in his quest for present day awareness is touched by his gentle and lovable personality. How author Shanna Hatfield interweaves Hannah and Thor together is a testament to her creative versatility. What initially should have been a lightweight read full of improbable fill-in-the-blanks whimsy turned out to be anything but that. I hung on every page full of humor, suspense, and the ever-growing love between the heroine and hero. For this incurable romantic this book now demands a sequel!

You know you’ve found an author with many, many talents when they can embrace any genre of writing, like it’s second nature.
Shanna Hatfield has an amazing talent and imagination. She can entertain her readers with historical stories that grip your heart, contemporary plots that have you laughing, make you scratch your head figuring out a mystery, and now an amazing love story with a time-travel theme intertwined.
Capturing The Cavedweller’s Heart, dedicated to her husband of 25 years, is such an inspiring book of fate, perfect timing, and powerful love.
Thor and Hannah have swept me away in this beautiful romance, honoring such a wonderful couple and the loving attraction that bonded them.
“He had a keen mind, of that she had no doubt. Her concern was whether he was a bad guy with the gift for acting, a man out of his mind, or by some miracle, a cavedweller from the past.”
This is the most amazing love story I’ve ever read. Truly heartfelt, mesmerizing, and all inspiring!!!!

I truly enjoyed reading this book.
It's a heartwarming & touching
time-travel romance.
10,000 BC, Thor, the leader of his clan, took a walk alone. He came upon a cave.
As he looks around, Thor hears a beautiful singing voice. As he followed the voice, he finds a woman. She was dressed different from him. Hannah, an archaeologist, was shocked to see a man in the cave. He looked like a cross between a homeless man or a caveman.
The story is about Thor & Hannah. Two people from different times. As they spent time together, & their attraction grows, Thor & Hannah, learn about each other's life.
I found how 10,000 BC was described, interesting.
I loved everything about the story!

Sweet and charming love story

While this book first made me think of the 90's flick, Encino Man, it is so much better than that goofy film! I enjoyed the great thought and depth of detail that Shanna put into having the lead character, Hannah, describing modern life to the prehistoric cavedweller, Thor. As a mom to a toddler, I can see some similarities between Hannah teaching Thor about everyday objects we often take for granted and how I teach my son about the world around us. As Hannah and Thor get to know each other, it's sweet to watch their love story unfold. This was another great read from one of my new favorite authors!

Sweet, humorous read

This book was awesome. I loved Hannah and Thor and their story was fun, silly, innocent and memorable. Although I’m not sure how I wanted the book to end, I was maybe hoping for a slightly different ending. It had a satisfying end that didn’t create any time-loop problems but I wanted something else. Without spoilers, that’s really all I can say about it. Regardless, I would recommend this book and will likely read it again!

Capturing the Cavedweller's Heart!

Oh what fun this book was! This is a Time Travel by one of my favorite authors, written in her usual style of a clean, sweet and humorous romance. Enjoyed the original storyline, along with the characters I grew to love. The ending surprised me, which brought tears to my eyes along with a sigh, knowing it was the perfect ending for this book. Well done, Shanna Hatfield. JudyE

Delightful

Delightful romance inspired by the author's own love. Some humorous scenes which prove human nature is consistent throughout time. A touching ending, probably the best part of the story.

To find such a love!

I laughed often and out loud reading this, but most of all I cried. Call me a sappy old lady but to find a love like Thor and Hannah did and then for it to end like it did my eyes didn’t just leak. They gushed. We all need a love like Thor and Hannah had.

As crazy as the story started, I loved the way it grabbed me. It dragged a little for me in the middle. The ending was magical though. It didn’t end like I thought it would, but it was fitting. Book gifted to me.

Wow!

At first I wasn't too sure about this because I don't usually read this trope. I was drawn into the story and was upset with the inevitable ending. As usual, Shanna left me with a happy ending. Y'all must read this book!

Fun, clean time travel romance

This was a fun, clean time travel romance. The last couple of chapters were both sad and good. I wish there had been some sort of epilogue.

Great book! This is a wonderful funny and sweet romance. Don't let the words "time travel" keep you from reading! Your heart breaks because you think you know how it will end. Shanna Hatfield has done a wonderful job in weaving the characters, emotions and history. Don't miss it!

Shanna Hatfield wrote Capturing The Cavedweller's Heart as a 25th wedding anniversary gift to her husband. While it is a light, fanciful romance, it does have a surprise ending. The story also contains interesting historical facts and several characters and locations from other books.

I purchased a Kindle and paperback copy of this book.
