I love stories with characters who are down on their luck. It shows the resiliency of the human spirit and often shows how there are still people who help others. One person who needs that help is Micah. He didn’t have the worst childhood, but got into trouble and eventually went to jail. Now he’s an ex-con without a job and living with his best friend, who just happens to be the mother of his

First and foremost please read the trigger warnings. I will say some of the things are described in detail and will set you off if you get triggered by verbal, mental, physical abuse and domestic violence. I have to say that I don’t really get triggered by most things but in this book while Adrian’s family was treating him so horribly it reminded me of my family and then I just felt down in the dumps. People sometimes don’t realize how to

Micah is nearly thirty and recently released from prison for drug offenses. He’s moved into his ex’s guesthouse so he can be close to their son, Caleb. Micah had gotten his childhood best friend, Rhina, pregnant when they were in high school, but he realized in prison that he’s really gay–not that he’s “out” about that. Right now he only wants a job so he can pay his way and maybe contribute child support. Rhina wants him to find true happiness, and is an awesome mom and support to Micah, but he ...more

Second chances all around!

When we first meet Micah, he’s out on a scorching hot day, trying to find a job. Any job will do, he just needs something to help his best-friend and child’s mother raise his son. He hasn’t been an active parent in the kids’ life, because a part from being in prison for several years, he just thought the little family was better off without him. When his “baby mama” as she’s referred to several times in the story, talks him into moving in with her to save on money and b

Trigger Warnings First and Foremost: Triggers to abuse, mental and physical abuse, domestic violence. That needs to be stated first. Though these warnings are not based around the two main characters but memories of past experience. The mention of the abuse is short lived but is graphic in detail. So if you have triggers for this, then do not read this book.

I enjoyed this read. It is a book about two men that have had bad things happen to th in their past and both have been letting that affect t

Micah Grayson is sort of lost on the outside of his life. He's an ex-con living with his baby mama and his 13 year old son. When Adrian Darling gives him a chance with a job at his coffee shop, he finally feels like he's in a place to become part of his son's life.

Adrian has kept a secret about his dead fiance from everyone. He lives in his parents basement and owns his own coffee shop, yet he feels like he's lacking in the sense department. And his family is constantly telling him about his fai

Heartbreakingly real! A wonderful story about second chances, trust and true love!

I loved this story! It's heartbreaking and an emotional rollercoaster but Londra's writing style made these characters feel so real to me, I felt like I knew them. This story deals with some serious issues of depression, self-worth, drug use, domestic violence, trust, doubt and teen pregnancy, just to name a few. (Please be aware of your triggers). Londra shows such respect and care for thes

I liked this one. A new author to me , but I will definitely consider checking out more of their titles.

I will say that it caught me off guard when Adrien said he would be open to sharing another man with Micah in the future. That came from nowhere and really did not fit the vibe between these two. They felt more exclusive to me , not so much into an open relationship. Especially, with both of their pasts. It really did not fit the story and it was never brought up again. So, I was left wonderin

Living on the inside is a standalone novel by Londra Laine.

Micah is finally out of prison and is living in the guest house which his baby mama owns. Together they live with their son Caleb. Micah is struggling to find a job because of his record but one day, walking home from another bad interview, he sees a café looking for workers and applies. He is given an interview right away and gets the Job.

Adrien is the café owner. He has a big family who is very close with, and is finally somewhat bounc

Everyone who opens their hearts up to another person takes a risk.

Micah has had a rough past, including being locked up. Not having any luck with finding a job due to his record he was losing all hope. At the end of a long day of job hunting he comes across a help wanted sign at a coffee shop and decides what the hell, he’d trying again. He really needs a job, mostly to prove to his son, Caleb, and baby mama that he could make it, help provide, and be a better father to Caleb than in the past.

What a lovely story, with characters that the reader can fall in love with. The main characters Micah and Adrien are so well written it is easy to follow them on their world. The secondary characters are also so full that they add a great deal to the book.
Micah needs a job and a chance to be a dad again but he's struggling. He's not even sure who he is any more. When he meets Adrien he realises there are good people ready to help others. They work together and fall into a pattern that everyone a

This is a beautifully written love story. The characters are well developed and the story line is quite unique.

This is a story about two men who have been through a lot of hard times in their pasts. Adrian has been through an abusive relationship, along with feelings of inferiority from his family. Micah has made a lot of bad decisions in his life that almost cost him the love of his son.

These two broken hearts have a hard time with trust; both with each other and with themselves. This leads to

This is another amazing book from Londra Laine and I love everything about it. I could not put it down and I love how much it made me feel as I laughed and cried all the way through to the perfect ending. It is beautifully written, sweet, emotional, sad, funny, deals well with difficult issues and all of the characters are amazing and real. The author does an excellent job with the difficult s

This was pretty awesome. Loved Adrian and Micah. A solid story about an ex-con trying to get back on his feet and reconnect with his son, and a coffee shop owner moving on from the death and past abuse of his ex fiancé. Loved the pacing here. Very realistic. The relationship with Caleb was well done. Caleb was a typical teenager but his hurt was genuine and well explored. The angst was perfect. Nothing seemed manufactured. I usually hate when couples break up and then have to find their way back ...more
I loved the first maybe 70% and then the last 30 I liked but didn’t enjoy it as much I found a lot happened in a short space of time with not enough substance.

Adrien owns a successful business. He’s got a loving, protective family. No one knows his shameful secret that his last relationship was an abusive one. When he hires a new employee he works at hiding his interest.

Micah desperately needs a job. He lives with his ex to be near his son. Every job he applies for is unsuccessful because of his criminal history. He is amazed when Adrien hires him. He also feels a definite interest for his employer.

Londra Laine's Living on the Inside is a book about second chances. A second chance with family, a second chance st life, second chance at finding love.

Micah is trying to find his way after making mistakes in the past- repair his relationship with his son, get out of his baby mana's guest house, and take a chance coming out to them both to find love. . Adrien is taking a chance on love after the mistakes of his past with exes. These two men are great characters and their story is filled with sw

Awesome story! Powerful, poignant, steamy romantic journey that will touch your heart. I really liked the Micah and Adrien and was very quickly pulled into this well written story. The characters are well defined and you will feel their connection and their pain. I laughed and i cried in this heartfelt story.

This is a sweet story about learning to believe in yourself and trusting yourself to make good decisions in live and in love. My heart broke for both of these men as they talk about the pas

This is a beautiful, emotional book that really took at my heartstrings. Its about 2 beautiful but broken souls , shattered in different ways, that need to learn to trust again and get rid of their inner demons of selfdoubt and insecurity.
Two man that find each other, and despite their insecuritys, take a chance.

The autor created wonderful characters in this book. Foremost ofc Adrien and Micah, but a magnificent set of "supporting" characters as well, not last, Micahs son.

Wow!!! Micah and Adrien’s story caught me completely off guard. They both have serious situations in their past that impact how they see themselves. Add in their respective families and it’s truly complicated.

Their story is one of facing the past and acknowledging the fact that they’ve learned from the mistakes that were made. Learning who they are now as individuals and as a couple. The growth of the relationship between them was sweet and then sexy as Hell. There’s serious heat in their sex.

Be forewarn that this is a emotional book and make sure to read the triggers. We meet two characters that feel like they don't belong any where. Adrien you see has so much to give, but at a lost with the abuse he went through. We start to see small change in Adrien when meets and hires Micah. But nothing is never ever perfect with always have to have that one thing that try to block you and that being their families. this is a must read book that we have to give things a chance and see where the ...more

I really enjoyed reading this book. Both main characters have a past they would rather forget but it has shaped the men they are as the book opens. Micah is a study in contrast which makes for good depth of character. Adrien is a character with many layers that are slowly exposed throughout the book. Both of these sweet men have been damaged but together they find a way to heal and form a lifelong love.

An emotional book the writing was good. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters wonderful. A story of second chances and rebuilding a life of love and trust. The characters were developed and thought out. Micah Grayson and Adrien Darling are the MC’s of this book. I can recommend this book as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

A really cute story that is a captivating read. Micah and Adrien are wonderful characters with great chemistry. They are great together but Micah doesn't feel he's good enough for Adrien and Adrien is cautious because of his past relationship. They both need to overcome a lot in order to get their HEA but they stand strong together. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Having adored Londra Laine’s writing in Curl Around My Heart, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Living on the Inside. For me, this was a much tougher read because of the subject matter. Between Adrien’s domestic abuse flashback scenes and the emotional penance Micah must pay (rightfully so) as he earns his way back into his son’s life, Laine ran me through the wringer. A word of warning, the domestic violence scenes are fri

This is the first book I read by Londra Laine. I have to say I particularly liked the writing style, I found it really easy to read, quick, no once I had to come back and reread a sentence. For my still WIP English, this fluency was a huge bonus.

I appreciated the MCs took their time to know each otehr, they became friends first, although the strong attraction, Adrien and Micah waited to act on it. Cause their pasts were too bulky to be easily ignored. But the connection between them was

While a quick read, the writing style is just not my cup of tea. The emotions don't run deep for me, a bit too quick to lust/love and saccharine, while current situations, the past strife, and the romance feel forced, stilted, and outside of the bounds of human nature's action/reaction.

On the surface, with the premise, it should have been a big hit for me. But I'll chalk it up to the writing style and my reading style not being a good fit, and toss in a bit of my mood

Londra has loved to read since she discovered The Baby-Sitters Club. As a child, her parents would ground her by taking all the books out of her room for several days. Londra began reading romance in 2008 and fell in love with the M/M romance genre after purchasing a book by accident several years later.

After decades of daydreaming, and jotting down story ideas, Londra decided to give life to the
