Here Comes Santa Paws by the wonderfully talented Laurien Berenson is set to release October 24, 2019!

In this, the twenty fourth book in the Melanie Travis Canine series, you will find Melanie and Claire wrapped in a murder investigation, with very little information to follow up on.
Of course Aunt Peg is calling the shots, but she has to do it from home, where she has her hands full with a very unexpected present left in a Christmas stocking.

Puppies and Christmas, it doesn't get much better than this.
Aunt Peg is livid! Okay, maybe reading about all of her escapades over the years this is not so shocking. This time I am 100% behind her. Some cretin left a letter of 3 innocent puppies in her outdoor Christmas stocking! Fortunately for the abandoned Australian Shepard puppies they were left with a fierce animal advocate that will make sure they are safe and well taken care of. Peg aka Margaret Turnbull is a longtime breeder of w

This was a quick read. It takes place just before Christmas in Connecticut. I adored the dogs, especially the Aussie puppies. Most of the humans were likeable. I was surprised by some of the connections, but this was the first book in the series that I have read. I enjoyed the mystery. I was surprised by a few things that happened.
Here Comes Santa Paws was a fun Christmas-themed cosy mystery with a well developed plot and characters. Dogs made it even more fun.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. "In my life, there's almost always a story. And this one was a doozy." That quote pretty much sums up Melanie's life in a nut shell! Lauren Berenson always writes a fantastic and, usually, hilarious mystery. Her books are extremely well written and easy to read. Melanie et al are fun, interesting, and funny along with the "herd" of poodles. Enjoy! 📚

I confess I am very late in coming to the A Melanie Travis Canine Mystery series. To be frank, if I’d paid better attention I’m not sure that I would have requested an ARC of the 24th title in a series. And to be further frank – I’m really glad that I made that oversight for I discovered a story that had me engaged with the mystery, enjoying the antics of the characters and not the least bit lost in a story that could be considered a standalone. I have had the pleasur

It's looking like Christmas in New Canaan, a haven for some of Connecticut's wealthiest and lucky Claire is in the cat-bird seat having created a personal shopper clientele list. Claire is the wife of Melanie's ex and they've managed to forge a friendship in spite (or maybe because) of their shared history. When Claire calls Melanie for help in a panic, Melanie doesn't hesitate to run to her aid.

Here Comes Santa Paws is the first book by Laurien Berenson that I have read; not realizing at first that this latest release is a continuation of a series about Melanie Travis. However, that did not take away at all from this novel and I did not feel behind or like I needed to catch up. It is a cute (for a murder mystery) Christmas story with some twists and turns, set along the backdrop of the holidays.

Melanie is a teacher on break for the holidays and has a knack for getting involved with lo

This book comes out of the starting gate at a dead run and doesn't slow down till the finish line.
Sometimes you have to wait a bit for the murder to happen in a book. This isnt the case here. Ms. Berenson offers up a body right off the bat here. We seem to be trying to figure out a couple of mysteries here. Who killed the victim and why are the obvious ones we expect to be presented with. But we also are faced with the question of who was the victim, really. Hmmm. The more answers that Mel

A fun Cozy Christmas Mystery...The background for this book was inspired by the story of Hugette Clark. I enjoy knowing the inspiration and background for a story even when fictional so, that made this one even more interesting. Another good installment in this series :) If you enjoy cozy mysteries, if you like reading holiday stories, and if you love dogs; you'll enjoy this book and maybe even want to read this series :)

Not very Christmasy. Glad I’m reading it well before the holidays because it will disappoint if you are looking for something with holiday cheer. I should know by now that I’m just over this series. In the beginning the books included a lot of interesting detail about dog breeds and interesting info about dog shows and judging and ribbons. But it’s really gotten hum drum in recent years. Melanie is just a mom and wife who likes to nose into murders.

This was just the kind of mindless little read I needed today. Evidently all the Melanie Travis are chock full of poodles. The mystery opens with foundling puppies in a stocking found by her Aunt Peg. Shortly this incident is followed by the inciting murder. Nice easy murder surrounded by puppy and poodle capers, with a little Christmas thrown in.

When Melanie's friend calls her for help after finding a body, she just can't resist trying to solve the mystery herself.

A light, cozy mystery with interesting characters and storyline....and pets, of course. I enjoyed it.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias.

Cute, Cozy Christmas mystery. A perfect read for this holiday season. This will be a great escape for those nights when you are stressed out from all the flurry of Christmas activity. As you can tell, this is number 24 in the series, but it stands alone and you don't have to read all the other ones. So grab a cup of hot tea and cookie, and grab a biscuit for your dog.
