I have enjoyed this story...and I do keep reading it, I love the time jumping, but it is starting to get a bit convoluted. I love all the different characters...and where the story "seems" to be going...but it needs to get there...like in the next book. It has been dragged out enough!
I have loved reading this series of books, all of which have been read in about a month. Magnus is the a magnificent book boyfriend, second only to Jamie Fraser from the Outlander series (I do love a Highlander). Kaitlyn is a strong, emotional woman, whom Magnus loves above all else and travels across time to protect her and his extended family. I had a inkling that Hayley’s new boyfriend might be the infamous General Reyes, but thought he would find Magnus earlier in the book. Despite the fact that she is a supreme bitch, and would like nothing more than to kill Kaitlyn, I’ve missed her interference and hope we find out what has become of Lady Mairead in book 7. Diana has given us lots strong, intelligent, brave yet feminine women in the guise of Kaitlyn, Hayley, Lisbeth, Beaty and the unassuming Emma, who underneath her soft and quiet exterior is a badass. Magnus has some serious shit to sort out in the next chapter of his life and if we’re lucky, he might need more than one book to achieve it. I also hope that Magnus’s little soldiers managed to give Kaitlyn the Christmas present she so desperately wants. Can’t wait for book 7, so get your skates on Diana, we’re a waiting...!

It’s been a minute since I read the last book, but it was so good to be back. And it was fairly easy to catch up. I am loving this series because it’s such an epic romance with plenty of unpredictable adventure. And it isn’t formulaic like many romance novels.
Kaitlyn has really grown as a character. She has become so strong and brave, while still remaining down-to-earth and relatable. Now, please excuse me as I dive straight into the next one...
This book is a rollercoaster of feelings ad of time periods. If you haven't read any of the Kaitlyn and the Highlander books before this is not the one to strt with. You'll need to start at the beginning and even then it is confusing. Diana Knightley takes the reader from the past to the future to the present and back again. Included in all this travel is much heartbreak as Kaitlyn attempts to help the Magnus of the past and the future. Just when things seem to be at the worst - the book ends - ARGH! Not only do we not get a Happily Ever After, we are left wondering how things can ever be saved. This whole series is enough to cause a reader to drink - but meanwhile, I'll just have to wait for Book 7.
Cudos to Diana for another part of this awesome story.
I am dumbfounded at the way each and every one of these characters have developed so far. Kaitlyn is growing up from the scattered brain girl of the first book to a woman, even if she keeps forgetting she's a queen. But soon she will grow into that person too. She's funny, loving, sensitive and yet is growing a pair of tarriwag. I just love it.
Of course, if Magnus weren't married to Kaitlyn, I would want him for myself! I just adore those crusty ol'warriors that are so sweet and soft for their family. Magnus is also growing and becoming a better man.
The main character is a spoiled self absorbed girl so it was hard to get into it. However Magnus the highlander has an enduring character. I keep reading because I know there has to be a reason for all this time traveling and I want to find out how Magnus handles keeping his kingdom, but seriously his immature wife makes it hard to stay with it, Maybe that is what the author is trying to do but when you have to tell people how great you are then you probably arent.
This time travel roller-coaster is getting wilder and crazier with every book, that's for sure and I certainly can't get enough of it.
From going to the 1700s to going to the future in 2300s and in the present, 2019...ahhh...this story will keep you totally hooked start to finish.
So much is happening in this one, that to even summarize, seems like a lot because this action packed, adventure ride doesn't leave a single dull moment for you, instead just as we think one thing is done, another wild twist is sprung up upon us.
There's a new enemy that Magnus and Kaityln have become aware of, Major Reyes, who has been searching for them through the passage of time and this makes it impossible for them to get back to their current time and be with their family.
Kaitlyn and Magnus have a bond that is stronger and beautiful than any other. These two have fought so many battles, some actual ones and other emotional ones and always fought to find their way to each other. I had tears in my eyes in certain scenes, because these two evoked such strong emotions in me.
I have really become attached to all the characters in the book, our mains - Magnus and Kaityln and also Zach, Emma, little Ben, Quentin and Magnus' family from the past, his son, Archie... Ahhh... I find myself absolutely terrified when some curveballs were thrown, thinking what was going to happen.
And in this one, we have a new character, Beaty and I found her silly and cute with the way she clings to her husband but it's also apparent how freaking different and difficult it was for women in those times.
Then this terrifying turn comes out of nowhere, and I was so shocked and scared thinking how were they going to get out of this situation and I felt like I was watching a movie with the way things play out. I was glued to the pages. But... Ahhh... We need answers because that cliffy left a huge question mark and also... What the heck... I'm nerve wracked but can't wait to find out what happens next. Loved this one.
One of the things that makes this fun to read are all the here and now references that 2020 readers would relate to such as the mentioned restaurants. I was thinking though that These current day references would be lost on People reading it in the future.Ha-ha "pun" intended. Since I'm an older reader the songs she mentions I don't really relate to. Ms. Knightley Could add a section Like The Gailic one, explaining these current references. For instance she could name the song name and singer Which a reader could look up and listen to if they wanted or include the words in her reference section. She could Describe the type of Restaurant McDonald's or Cracker Barrel is since over time these items will disappear into oblivion for the reader. That way these books would be more understood in the next generations. If it's a great series it'll last.
I love the series. They are addictive. Not sure that love conquers all though. By book 6 Katelyn is definitely a better person than I am. Bella would have a choice- leave Archie and go away or take Archie and go away. Either way Bella would be gone! Like I said- Katelyn is a better person than I am. Can’t wait to see what happens next with Katelyn and Magnus, but I’m just as anxious to see what happens to their extended family. Much respect for Emma! This would be a great television series!
This is an amazing series, I mean this is really good.. this is book 6 of the series, while it held my attention all the way through, a couple of times I had to speed read through the love making cause there was so much of it.. it got annoying and got a little heavy handed on the jumps.. I was shocked that Ben was taken through a jump.. that didn’t sit well with me.. while this one was my least favorite of the series so far, it’s still a really good storyline and deserves a 5 star ⭐️ From me...
It’s unfair to categorize this as a romantic series, it’s so much more than that. While not great literature, the books are full of adventure and sci-fi time travel, from 2019 to 1703 to 2365 or something like that, sometimes all in the same day, mixed with battles and a love story. It has a bit of Stranger in a Strange Land mixed in as folks grapple with a different time than their own. And the books read quickly, I often finish a book in one day. And what a fun romp they are!
I’m halfway through this series and each story just gets better. The character development is just fantastic and I feel as though I know these people and I care about them. I live in the Savannah area so it was especially fun to see that included in this story. I imagined Magnus and Kaitlyn dining in the same Cracker Barrel I have went to several times!
The plot just keeps giving. Now we are fully invested in so many characters, solid development. You have the complicated time travel elements (in a good way) to constantly wrap your head around paired with the very real human experiences that keeps you hooked. There are also very poignant moments sliced in narrative that pull on your heart strings. The end of each book successfully has you asking, what happens next!!?
I have loved reading this series, I have fallen in love with all the characters and how they have all evolved between book 1 and book 6. The enduring love between Kaitlyn and Magnus is so addictive. That being said, I am ready to see how it all ends. We have been teased with a chance for a happy ending and I am really ready to read about that. I look forward to book 7 and hope that there will be a finale worth fighting for. And if not, then long live K&M!
This series is totally worth all the waiting in between:) I love the series the characters are like my family. I would definitely recommend this for anyone that’s looking for a new series to read. It’s not only romance but thrilling, dramatic with some sci fi to add a twist. So if you read them bc of my recommendation then your welcome
The series just gets better and more interesting !
This story will make you cry, laugh, and make you want to kill people who are trying to hurt Magnus Ang Katie. !! Its a heart warming story and deserves to be read . I truly enjoyed this book and I think you will also. I recommend it with a 5 Star review
Not a lot of moments of peace and happiness in book 6 of this saga. Kaitlyn and Magnus are reunited and travel from present, future, past trying to out-run danger. A couple of new family members and an up close meeting with General Reyes.
Another awesome addition to an incredibly unique and consuming love story!! You are literally at the edge of your seat through the entire thing!! I can’t wait until the next installment!!
Another fantastic journey with Kaitlyn and Magnus..... I love how unpredictable their love story is. Even the heart breaking moments. I hate waiting on the next book but they have been worth the wait. Anxiously awaiting.....
Another great segment of this series. Seriously, I don’t know how this gets better and better. Great storyline and hard to put down. Constant on the move, never knowing what will happen, good reading. Do yourself a favor and read this series!
I'm happy to see growth in Katie's character. Magnus is still wonderful and the story is still fast paced. I am ready for them to conclude though. Will be interesting to see how it happens.
Another great book from the book series. While this is probably my least favourte in the story (because there’s less action) I still get that it’s needed for the characters to get some happiness too. The ending was REALLY good, and I can’t wait to see what book 7 has to offer!
Intrigue; deceit and that forever love. Will it survive? There are glimpses of what could be with access to the future but can they get back? The treachery is heartbreaking but the love remains constant. Enjoy
I love this series of books, anxious to read their continuing story. The author has gently introduced some new characters. We’ll be reading the next book shortly!
I mean, more of my guilty pleasure series. It’s a great, fun read. This book continues the drama and the time travel. The characters stay true to who they have been throughout the series. Great mindless read!
Led this book as with all of them in the series. Can't help but read and reread them all. Now on to the next in the series while I try to wait patiently for the newest book to be released.
