Studelmeyer, the central character and narrator returns a year older (14), and a wee bit wiser. Issues Gus abuse and neglect, loyalty to family of origin, death of a parent, prejudice, physical rstraint, humor, and much more.

I read this for a class and I did not love this. The point it was trying to make was good but the writing didn’t lend itself to my enjoyment. It was an easy read and ok.
