This series is just too good and too perfect to be real

I've always loved series that are about royals getting together and having a happily ever after.
Call me a sap or overly romantic or unrealistic, I don't care, but a girl can dream of these fairytales stories to be real, right? 😍

This story is about Stefan, the second son of the kingdom of Durkham. Brother of Alex, who we saw the dramatic and heartbreaking story in "Dating the Prince"

Stefan is a very respectful gentleman, who mainly keeps himself, and avoids the media. Especially after the harsh treatments his brother is facing. But after rescuing a young woman who is drenched in mud and rain, limping towards his Cabin in the middle of nowhere, he is smitten

Jenna is a young scientist, yet she is one of the best in the field, and when she meets Stefan, she has no idea who he is. But finding out he is a prince who is looking for someone to help him run a lab back in his home country, this might be her chance to move forward with her research and spend more time with Stefan.

More time they spend together, the more they wish their relationship wasn't strictly business. But they are both afraid of falling for one another and losing their hearts too. Will they give it a chance ? Will their love bloom?

The thing that I love about this series is the characters. The Princes are all real gentleman and sweet to the love interest. But what I love the most that these wonderful authors have done is that the women in each story are not some damsels in distress. They are confident, they feisty, strong and intelligent
Jenna, is a great example of an intelligent woman who has become a success without a man telling her she shouldn't do it because of her gender.
Jenna is passionate about her job and she is capable of doing things her own way. Which I believe is a great role model for us readers, to know that woman are capable of great things too

What I would love to see more of is woman who don't exactly fit into the stereotype of beauty. For example, a woman who is insecure, or afraid of their looks or weight. A bit more diversity in characters would be amazing to see too! 😊

This is a great series! Highly recommend for all women to read, you'll fall in love ❤️

Received a copy from the author herself, for an honest review, thank you!

This Royal Secrets series has been so much fun! I don't know about you but I sure enjoy a good royals/commoners story. If anyone is looking for a fun book to escape with, try one of the books from this series. I don't know if I have a favorite or not, they've all been quite fun and a sweet escape type read.

Jenna is a researcher and Stefan is in a need of someone to help him set up a lab in his country to help continue the research for the cure of cancer. I loved the cute meet between these two and the mistaken identity that of course feeds some angst into the storyline. The best part is that if you've read the previous books (not necessary though) you get to see behind the scenes of the other stories. They're woven together in such a great way that you can continue enjoying the previous characters or you can enjoy "meeting" them for the first time! I love this royal family! And Stefan, yeah, definitely a swoon worthy prince to read about! Jenna, oh she was so sweet! Love, love, love them together!

Content: Clean

I received a review copy. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Cute romance, realistic conflict

I love reading how the love blossomed between these two. Sure things started out as a physical attraction, but then the characteristics of the characters shown through. Towards the end of the novel I also enjoyed the explanation behind the hurt feelings and assumptions. This enhanced the feelings and logic the characters experienced thus making those actions realistic and not just cliché.
On a steaminess level I would rate this a mild PG-13. A couple make-out scenes that were pretty steamy.

Forgetting the Prince by Kennedy Larsen ( 3 stars)

This is the first book I’ve read by Ms. Larsen. She’s a good writer and this was a light, clean, quick beach-read type novel. (Great cover!)

This is the only book I’ve read in the series, so far, and I strongly suggest that other readers read the series in order. Stephan’s older brother is mentioned numerous times and it feels like the characters all know something we don’t. Even though she gives us a brief overview, it just feels a bit disjointed.

There are some well-thought-out secondary characters who I liked and wished we, as readers, got to see more of...they added some nice variety to the novel.

I did have some observations/complaints:

Firstly, the prince occasionally used an American colloquialism or less than stellar grammar and that consistently popped me right out of the book.

Secondly, our heroine also would sometimes use grammar that didn’t seem in keeping with someone who has a doctorate...her grammar was an understandable character trait, though; his- not so much.

Thirdly, all either of them could think about was how they couldn’t be together. I got really tired of the martyred inner dialogues. It was certainly a valid plot device, but overused.

That said, this was well-edited and clean, enjoyable and light. Keep writing, Ms. Larsen I strongly suspect your books will just keep getting better!

Prior to starting her seven mile round trip hike in the Washington forest Jana Owens checked her weather app. She is heading back to her Land Rover when the twenty percent chance of scattered showers upgraded with a bright flash and a loud boom into a heavy thunderstorm downpour. Jana started running down the Manza Trail hoping to make it to her car. She loses her footing and is caught in a mudslide down the trial. Jana, mud head to toe and with injuries, sees a cabin and is hoping someone at the cabin can help.

Stefan, prince of Durham, is enjoying a quiet secluded weekend in a luxury cabin in the forests of Washington. Because his brother Alex, Crown Prince of Durham, is having PR problems and going through serious political and social drama (Book 4 Royal Secrets: Dating the Prince) he chose the cabin over an upscale hotel to avoid all media.

Stefan wants to bring cancer research to Durham. After pouring through research magazines Stefan is led to Dr. Holland who not only made amazing strides in cancer research but was willing to share his research. He would like Dr. Holland or his lead research scientist to come to Durham to help setup a research lab. After previous communications he was scheduled to meet with Dr. Holland and his lead research scientist the coming Monday.

Jana receives aid at Stefan’s cabin; even against the bodyguards’ wishes. There is definitely an attraction but Stefan does not pursue it because of his concern with what is happening in his brother’s life. Jana gets a lift back to her car, and tries to convince herself she will quickly get over her crush.

At his meeting with Dr. Holland Stefan discovers Jana is the doctor’s lead research scientist.

Will Stefan concern for the turmoil to his family and Durham that could result if he dated Jana and it failed end what could be. Or will he follow his heart. Will there be enough ice cream in the freezer?

Jenna was a scientist who loved doing research to try and find a cure for cancer. She lived in Washington and one day, while on a hike, she was caught in a serious downpour and injured herself in the process of getting to safety. She knew she couldn't make it back to her car and hoped she could find someone who would help her in one of the cabins nearby. Little did she know, she was intruding on a prince's private solitude and escape from royal life. Stefan was fascinated by Jenna and wanted to get to know her better. The more time he spent with her, the more he recognized that she was unlike any woman he had known before. Most women wanted to be around him because of his money and his title. Jenna didn't know any of that about him and still seemed to interested in him, just him.

Stefan was a prince from Durham, a small country in Europe. He had come to the US to try and convince a renown scientist to help him set up a research laboratory in Durham continuing the doctor's work in his country. It turns out that Jenna was the doctor's top research assistant and Stefan was determined to try and convince Jenna to come to Durham to help him with the setup of the lab. Stefan knew he had to do what was best for his country and being involved with an American certainly wasn't what was best, but his heart seemed to tell him that stuff didn't matter. His head, however, seemed to say, keep her at arm's length. Was it even possible to make this relationship into more and find a forever kind of love?

I have read several books by this author and have enjoyed each of them immensely. I was given an arc copy of this book and I enthusiastically offer my honest review.

Forgetting the Prince is a wonderful story. Prince Stefan is on hiatus in the U.S. when a woman, injured in a hiking accident in a Washington forest, approaches his cabin. His bodyguards jump to intercept her, but the Prince brings her inside to assist her. With the help of Nanna Grace, Jenna's injuries are quickly attended. Due to the poor weather, she is forced to stay the night, during which time Jenna and Stefan get acquainted. Unaware of his royalty, she returns to her lab as a cancer research assistant where, days later, she is introduced to the man who is interested in setting up and expanding the cancer research center in his home country. That man, of course, is Prince Stefan of Durham.
I love a plot that centers on a strong independent woman whose life is dedicated to making the world a better place. In this case, finding a cure for cancer. The author writes an excellent book, not only clean, but one that advances the belief in the goodness of humanity. With all the negativity associated with world news, it is refreshing to read about good people with huge hearts.

Cute, clean, quick read. Kind of a twist on a Cinderella plot. Could be another working girl meets prince Hallmark movie except in this one the working girl is a brainy scientist. And because both she and the prince are looking for a cure for cancer you can't help but root for them. I would have enjoyed more development in their romance but I didn't really need the play by play kissing scene. I get bored with that and usually skim forward to the rest of the story. It is a short story so there isn't a lot of time to delve more into anything. Just a quick feel good story.

No sex, language or violence

A Different Kind of Royal

Prince Stefan's guards are astounded,,and less than happy, when a bedraggled American winds up in their vacation lodge during a horrendous storm. A week later she turns out to be one of the lead researchers in the drive to cure cancer.
Someone from the American lab needs to go to the small European country of Durham to set up the research lab there. Jenna is the only choice.
It wouldn't be quite accurate to say that a romance blossoms. But it also wouldn't be quite accurate to say that it doesn't.
Bastian presents another chapter in the royals of Durham.
Recommended for all readers of clean royal romance.

Awesome

Another Prince finds his Princess. Stefan was in America to talk to a laboratory about getting help to set up a laboratory in Durham to do research on Cancer. He took a week and staying in a cabin in the woods. Jenna was out nature hiking and was talking back to her car when she felt and was injured. She was to get to a cabin. The first time she met him, the second was at the lab & she found out who he really was.

Aside from the whole "the knock-out that stubbles into the prince's secluded cabin during a major storm is the scientist he needs for his lab back home" thing, the characters, dialogue and plot were believable.

The characters fell in love against their will, which is a favorite trope of mine. She was sure she didn't deserve him; she didn't fit into his world. He manned up and directly spoke to her to clear up misunderstandings and to let her know how he felt.

A sweet, clean and fun story about Prince Stefan and how he accidentally happens to meet Jenna when he is in the USA. Lots of twists, turns, and enjoyment as the two work to set up a lab to do further research on a cure for cancer in Stefan's home country. I thought Ms. Larsen did a very good job on this book.

I really enjoyed this book in the Royal Secrets series, and it is always nice to read a book with characters from other books that I recognize. Good

I really enjoy books with some worthwhile and serious aspects to them, with intelligent and committed characters. This book covered it all, and more. I liked that the main character was "down to earth" and had a passion for her research, and no high expectations regarding a relationship with a prince. It was well done. Look forward to reading more if they are like this.

Prince Stefan and Jenna accidentally meet when she is caught in a major storm in the woods. Neither realize they will meet again later when the prince looks for someone to help set up a cancer research laboratory in his country. As feelings begin to grow, will he follow his heart or follow the path he feels is his country needs? A sweet, clean HEA romance!

Aww, this was a cute story, I read another in this series and while it mentions characters from the other it could be a stand alone. Liked reading about Stefan's story. Sweet and I hope a cure for cancer is soon coming like this book was hoping for...

Moral Note: I don't recall anything bad in it besides some passionate kissing.

I used Kindle United to review this book. This is a new to me author. She did an excellent job of keeping Stefan true to the other books in this series. There is some comedy in this romance. Really enjoyed the way this story kept me wondering what was going to happen next. Yes, I knew it is a romance and will be happy at the end. Very enjoyable.

Ms. Bastian brings her solid writing once again to craft a romance that keeps you turning pages.

I really enjoyed the contrast of their worlds as the MCs came together to work for the greater good but struggled to bring their lives in alignment.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

An excellent book to read

The story was very interesting. I especially loved the cancer research and getting others evoked to make this worthy cause better. The couple seemed so compatible, but it was a hurdle to go against the countries expectations. Love always wins

FYI- I do not usually read romance novels.

I like the idea of a female scientist heading up the opening of a new labratory, a prince in modern times and sweet stolen moments. I did not like the predictability and constant rehash of "can this work?".
