This book is the fifth in a series, so I won't comment a lot on characters or plot because I haven't read the previous four and would be speaking from a position of incomplete understanding. As a sci-fi adventure, it works in the abstract. The first part can be a little slow, but once first contact is made with alien life forms on earth, it gets more interesting.

However, as a reality rather than an idea, I have to say that this book isn't very well written.

Essentially, it's a script. There's

** Full Disclosure: I was an ARC reader for, and received an ARC of, “Pandora’s Eyes” for review purposes. The author requested a review but made no conditions for it. I am writing this review based solely on my enjoyment of this story in particular, and the author's writing overall. **

This is an amazing tale from the author. He develops complex characters (mostly human), creatively complicated relationships, various locations (many here in Washington), and wonderful cloak-and-dagger

A pulse pounding adventure!!

James M. Corkill's Pandora's Eyes comes out as an exceptional tale of science fiction with nail biting incidents, adrenaline surging episodes and breath taking scenarios- it has it all!
After securing an alien spaceship and four alien artifacts Alex realizes that his adventurous days are far from over, when news of two of the four hidden relics' disappearance reaches him. Trying to secure them before they fall in the wrong hands, Alex's search leads him to SV1- a

This is another very well written thriller featuring Alex Cave, our famous and beloved Geologist. This book is the fifth one on the series. Although they are stories that can hold on their own independently, in a couple of times there are references to situations that happened in the previous books. So I would recommend that you read the previous books in the order they were published, so you can savor this one better. The sequence is: "Dead Energy", followed by "Cold Energy", and then "Read ...more
I would like to thank the author, James M. Corkill, for providing me with an electronic copy of Pandora's Eyes, in exchange for an honest review.

Geologist Alex Cave has now moved to Groom Lake, Nevada, to be firmly in the middle of the action surround the alien spacecraft that they found. As his job was dangerous and with a desire to reduce collateral damage, Alex has decided to focus solely on his work. The recovery of four alien artifacts, capable of destroying life on Earth, and the

Blue is the colour of her eyes!

Once again I’m sat here thinking I should be getting on with things, like go to bed? But I will just hold off until I finish the next chapter, or the end of the book, whichever comes last. Our hero is at it again as there seems to be yet another threat on the inhabitants of earth, back with his friends, both old and new, he has a whole new set of hurdles to overcome before all hell breaks loose. It all starts with something found and stored away, stolen by an arch

"I never should have downloaded the instruction manual..."
When I first received a complimentary review copy of Pandora's Eyes from Book Review 22, I was unaware that it had been preceded by four other books in the series so, initially, struggled to make sense of who was who, their relationship to each other and, quite simply, what was going on. By about one third of the way through, however, with some of the background information gleaned, I was able to immerse myself in this very fast paced -

“Another Irresistible Adventure For Alex Cave”

This thrilling novel is action-packed from cover to cover. Each book in this series is stand-alone. However, I highly recommend each book in the series because they are truly dynamic! Millions of years ago, several alien airships had come to Earth and mostly are buried in ice. Leave it to Alex Cave to discover another spacecraft … but this time he's in for a big surprise. There is life on this one, very similar to humans as exhibited by a beautiful

I have to warn the readers at this point. I started reading in this series with this book, #5. So, I was at a disadvantage that most fans wouldn't have worried about. There was very little review, but it was enough that I was able to catch up quickly. There were a number of characters, but I was introduced to them skillfully and it didn't take long to sort it all out.

The action was fast paced, in a way that made sense as the characters were shuffled around and advanced the plot line. The sub

Alien Invasion?

I had forgotten how much fun the Alex Cave stories are, an amalgam of time travel, science fiction, and speculation about man's overarching greed versus the natural balance of the planet. Massive weather disruptions also figure large. This is the fifth in the series and builds on the events of the previous four novels, but though they enrich the context and background, this tale stands quite nicely on its own. Excellent narration by Paul McSorley made listening a pleasure.

Pandora's Eyes (Alex Cave, #5), my fifth read from author James M. Corkill. Well-written and captivating with well-developed main characters reminding one of Christopher Cartwright’s Sam Reilly writings. I received an Audible copy of Pandora's Eyes (The Alex Cave Series, Book 5) back in March of this year & am voluntarily reading & reviewing it. Paul J. McSorley’s narration adds to the book's enjoyment. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

I was hoping this would be a stand-alone book and it certainly is a good read all by itself, but I believe it would have been better had I read the first four books in the series. I would love to go back and read them now. This is an awesome series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Thrilling, adventure, tense, exciting interesting and fun. Two big things I really like about James Corkill books are: The story never drags and you like the characters
The book is SciFy, contemporary time, with aliens, right up my alley.
Was a big fan of MUFON, now I'm holding a grudge.
