Misty Beller yet again succeeds in captivating and enchanting with her beautiful redemptive love story set in the backdrop of wintery harshness of the Canadian mountains. Her previous five books in the Heart of the Mountains series all have similar setting but it never gets old; there is so much beauty and danger in the mountains during the winter and the struggle of the main characters to survive is real, tangible, and heart-wrenching at times. The story has a nicely paced plot, endearing chara ...more

Samuel Grant is on his way to get Henry Clark and bring him back for his sister's wedding, but when he gets to Henry's cabin, there is a ruckus going on. A woman is holed up inside and men out front are aggressively trying to take the cabin. Then Samuel hears a baby crying.

Moriah Clark's husband has died 6 months previously, leaving her with a newborn and a cabin and land to maintain. She is half Peigan and just wants to get back to her people, after being given to a white man in marriage by he

I can't imagine traveling in the rugged untamed wilderness on the cusp of winter with a brand new baby! Moriah had so much fortitude to leave behind the home she built with her husband and seek out her mother's people. I came to like Samuel in the previous book that focused on his twin, so it was wonderful to read his story and see him be the hero to Moriah and her baby girl. They are strong together and over time she learns to trust him by witnessing his actions and manner that reflect his inne ...more
What a beautiful, heartfelt journey these characters were on! This is book six in the Heart of the Mountains series, yet it could be read on its own, as well. The previous book, This Homeward Journey, would be a good one to read right before This Daring Journey, as Samuel Grant appears in both novels.

I loved the connection that developed between not only Samuel and Moriah, but also between Samuel and baby Cherry. Samuel’s character and gentleness came shining through in the way he cared for Mori

4.5 Stars. This Daring Journey is book 6 in the Heart of the Mountains series, but the first that I have read. I very much enjoyed this book and had no issues following this story. It can definitely be read as a standalone.

Moriah Clark's husband has been dead for 6 months. He died without knowing his daughter. She has been left alone with a cabin that is constantly being set upon by squatters and she needs to protect it for herself and her newborn daughter Cherry. That is how Samuel Grant finds

Misty Beller was a new author for me whenI reviewed the first book in this series and I fell in love with her writing! And this 6th book in the Heart of the Mountain Series in my favorite on yet! Moriah Grant has been living in her cabin with her newborn baby for months after her husband passed away, but how much more can she take of these horrible mountain men trying to take her home. When Samuel Grant arrives with a message for her husband from his sister, Moriah decide

Heart of the Mountains, Book 6

This is book six in Heart of the Mountains series. Moriah and Sam meet under less than ideal circumstances. They join together to travel to find family. They have to overcome harsh conditions while trying to survive. This book is filled with adventure, hardship, faith and growing romance. The descriptions of the mountains, weather, and characters bring the listener into the story.

The narration was well done. The characters were

Moriah is the perfect combination of fiery and vulnerable and she’s a great match for the quiet, patient, and protective Samuel. Moriah takes motherhood to a truly fierce level. She is seriously one boss mama! Samuel is chivalry personified and his physical endurance is truly impressive! Moriah’s inspiring bravery and fledgling faith blossom and grow in the safety of Samuel’s steadfastness and encouragement. I love indulging in these mountain stories over and

This Daring Journey is the sixth installment from Misty M Beller’s Heart of the Mountains series. I think this one may be my favorite of the series. I just loved Samuel and Moriah’s story. I loved reading their journey. I could not put the book down and had it read within hours. I highly recommend it.
Five plus stars.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.

This is book 6 in the Heart of the Mountains series and this book picks up directly after book 5 where we are on the journey with Samuel Grant. He is in search for his soon to be sister in law, Rachel's brother Henry Clark. He happens upon a cabin in the woods which he is guessing belongs to said Henry but there are men there and he can tell they are up to no good. Once he discovers it is a woman they are trying to gain access to he comes to her rescue.

I adore everything about Misty M. Beller’s Heart of the Mountain series, and This Daring Journey continues the story of family and friends in Canada’s heartland. This story can stand alone, but it’s great to reunite with previous beloved characters, such as Simeon & Emma, Noelle & Daniel, Seth & Rachel. Having met Samuel in the previous story, which focused on his twin and ended with him riding off to find Rachel’s brother, I was

THIS DARING JOURNEY is the story of a woman who has learned to survive on her own as she cares and protects her baby and the man who comes and helps her journey to find her family. A story full of sweet moments between the characters, the dangers they face, the friendships they forge, and their faith in God woven through. A heartwarming and inspiring historical romance.

I love this series with its strong women and trustworthy men! Moriah and Samuel were both characters I loved! Moriah was fierce,

How can he safely lead the woman and her newborn to her people?

My rating is 4.5 stars

Imagine traveling on a multiple day journey through the wilderness. In the Canadian Rockies. In the cold. With a newborn and a man you had never met. . . Without a map or GPS, and on an unmarked route!

This Daring Journey chronicles Moriah’s journey back to her people after the death of her husband. This amazing French-Indian woman had a strength and determination not often seen. The story of her tragic birth was

If you haven't read any books in this series, I would highly recommend taking the time to read each one. The story is full of adventure and danger as we get to follow Samuel on his journey. He is a strong character with survival instincts which come in handy as he faces trying to save Moriah and her new born baby. I loved how the author incorporated Moriah's heritage and found it to be fascinating.

This Daring Journey is the sixth book in the Heart of the Mountains series by Misty M. Beller. Although it continues the story of Samuel Grant from the previous book, it is easily read as a stand-alone book as the author does a great job filling in enough of the backstory the reader does not have a lot of questions regarding what has gone on before. It is a beautiful and captivating story of unexpected love, the importance of being able to trust family and friends (and sometimes strangers) and a ...more

I have read all the books in this Heart of the Mountains series, and I think This Daring Journey may be her best so far. There are plenty of obstacles to thwart Moriah Clark and Samuel Grant as they journey together through the harsh winter landscape in search of family. Loss and trust both play major roles in the tale. How will this new mother and her baby survive the winter elements and the dangers of the wilderness? The author crafts characters well and places them in exciting adventures, whi ...more

The next installment in the series and as good as the rest. In this book. Samuel meets Moriah, Henry's wife, when he goes to their cabin to get him to attend his sister's upcoming wedding. Circumstances, aren't what he expects, and he ends up taking Morah and her infant daughter into the winter wilderness to find her Indian tribe.

Along the way, they encounter unforeseen hardship and their paths cross with a young boy who becomes a traveling companion. Fighting the elements, an accident, sicknes

This was my first book that I read by Misty Beller and oh, what a lovely little gem was this! I was immediately captivated and held hostage to the very end! I read it without difficulty as a stand-alone, however I enjoyed Misty's writing so much that I wish I had started at the beginning. Looking back at the descriptions of the other books in the series, the main characters shift to different people, so it wasn't as difficult to jump-in later in the series. Having said that though, even though m ...more

Another winner by Misty M. Beller! This book is full of action, adventure, love and faith. The way this book is written you feel all of the emotions and can "see" everything happening. Just be warned, once you start reading you won't be able to stop. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.

Heart of the Mountains series continues with brave, compassionate Samuel Grant traveling to give a message to Henry Clark. Samuel finds Henry's widow, Moriah Clark, and her newborn baby at the rough cabin. Moriah has not been treated kindly by whites and doesn't trust this burly white man.
Moriah is a strong half white and half Peigan woman but knows she cannot stay alone and protect her baby. You will admire both Moriah and Samuel as they travel through snow to find Moriah's tribe only to find

My review today is on the Western Romance, This Daring Journey. This is book six of the Heart of the Mountains Series. I have so enjoyed this series. I like revisiting the characters from the first five books. I love the characters. This story is well written, action packed, and full of faith. I warn you it's not a book to read on a cold night, you will freeze just like the characters do. You are going to love this book.

Like all the books in this series, this one does not skimp on plot line, interesting well-developed characters, obstacles, danger and devotion. I think of the people who won’t venture out-of-town with a young child and compare that to leaving everything you know, in the middle of winter, with a stranger and to top it off a new born baby. Misty M. Beller always brings such strong characters to her books. It is always a pleasure to get a new book. I can highly recommend this book and the others in ...more

Another fabulous book in the Heart of the Mountain series that you won't put down until you finish! The details of their journey were so well described that I could almost see the narrow mountain trails, the clear waters of the streams and even the campfires beside the rough shelters made to block the wind and weather. I loved the way their faith and trust grew as the story continued to the point of believing that the Lord would bring them safely to their destination. The author has once again c ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Misty Beller has become one of my favorite Authors regardless of genre. And is definitely is my favorite authors when it comes to Christian Historical Romance especially that set in early North America either the United States or Canada. I also love the way she organizes her books in the "Heart of the Mountains" series of books. In the case of this volume it is as if you are reading the diaries of Moriah Clark and Samuel Grant. This is a wonderful story of courage and fortitude. Samuel and Moriah, with baby Cherry, are trying to get to Moriah's family. The story tells of the hardships they endure along the way. They also meet up with Matisse and he starts traveling with them. I'm usually not a fan of historical fiction, but this book, and actually the entire series, have kept me enthralled. You just feel like you are on the journey with them. I did receive an ARC, but that in no way influenced my review. If you love hi ...more

I can't say enough about Misty M. Beller's books.  I have loved each book in this series.

Misty M. Beller has a way with words that makes me feel like I am a part of the story.  I can visualize each step of their journey.  I just don't read the story.  I actually live the story along side Moriah and Samuel.

Moriah is a strong women with the determination to find her birth family.  She learned along the way that a family is so much more than sharing a bloodline.

Just like the other books in the Heart of the Mountains series by author Misty Beller this story captured me from page one. In fact this story might be the one to capture the readers attention the quickest. In the opening chapter I was captivated by the standoff between main character Moriah who is bi racial and we soon find out a brand new mother. Samuel Grant enters the scene quickly as he was sent on a mission to find Moriah’s husband on behalf of his twin brother and soon to be sister in law ...more

My Thoughts:

This book is number six in a series. I did not read the rest of the books in the series though I do now want to. I'm sure they are now going to be in my list of to be reads. Even though I did not read the first five in the series I did not feel lost within this book. So, while they are a series and I'm sure I'd have more inside information from reading in order, I do feel this book can be a stand alone.

I loved meeting Moriah. In fact, side note, Moriah is a name I had chosen to use f
