I'll Be Seeing You

Rate this book
My mother once said that angels come in many forms: people, animals, insects, flowers or even objects. Some stay with us for just a short time, helping us through difficult times, others stay forever, deep inside our soul, carrying us from one moment to the next. I always wanted to believe it was true, that maybe in a world where there was so much bad, there was still hope for some good. As I grew older and the innocence of childhood waned, tainting my views on life, I was finding that perhaps it was just my mother’s way of feeding my young imagination. That all changed the day I met him.

You know that feeling you get deep inside your gut? The one that tells you something is dangerous, or something is meant to be. The one that sees the bad or good in a person before they even utter a single syllable to you. The one that rattles your very soul, making you question your own sanity because you know you must be completely mad for having such an intense connection to someone you’ve just met. That’s the feeling I had when I first saw him. It was so much more than his good looks, his charming personality and his caring ways. It was something unexplainable and unimaginable.

The first time we met, I felt it, and I was pretty certain he did too. Familiar strangers searching for someone, or something deep inside the other. Maybe I was losing my mind or maybe I was just caught up in a daydream of how I wished my life could be. But from the first moment I had gotten caught up in his gaze, I knew I had stared into those pale-blue eyes once before…maybe not in this lifetime, but perhaps a lifetime before.

Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed Creative Writing. There was always something about being able to travel to a different place or become a different person with just the stroke of a pen - or in today's world a touch of the keyboard. I love creating deep characters who you will love or love to hate.

My life is not as interesting as my books or the characters in them, but then again whose life is? My happy place is a seat by the ocean with my feet in the sand or on the busy streets of New York City. You will more than likely find one of these places as the setting for most of my books.

Thanks for taking the time to learn about my books and me! If you decide to read them (and I hope you do!) please be sure to go on and review it for me - yes, even if you don't like it!

Meu Deus!

Although I loved the beautiful concept of this paranormal book, it would have been a great read for me if it wasn’t soooo slow paced...

My luck just keeps getting better and better!
I read this one last night and I was actually into it, not that i believe in souls mates in past lives but the book was actually kinda ok until hero committed the ultimate betrayal for a safety girl like myself.
I did thought the hero lost his balls with how he let his family dictate his life. He had a girlfriend who he was supposed to marry because their family had money and they wanted them together. He didn’t loved her but he sure did stay and had sex with her after meeting his soul mate.
Heroine went out with hero’s girlfriend’s brother and kissed him and she almost went father than that until she stopped it because she was already falling for the hero.
Well hero couldn’t and wouldn’t stay away from the heroine but that didn’t stop him from having sex with his girlfriend, after doing the nasty with her he proceeded to dumped her because he didn’t want to marry her.
The OW, her family and brother, his family were against hero and heroine of being together because she was mixed and he was white. His great uncle and heroine’s great aunt were in love and were going to get married, they faced racism from his family in 1940s. They were killed. I actually liked their story more than this present couple.
Hero was weak and couldn’t find his balls and heroine was like omg he’s so amazing and beautiful.
Like I said it’s just my day!
Onto the next wreck!

4.5 stars. First I am going to post some of my reactions that could count as live comments that I was sending to Beth while reading lol

- Omg I just finished chapter two and my feels are all over the place already. I know something amazing awaits me and I know it’s gonna be a roller coaster ride for sure. If I didn’t have work in the morning I would have finished it tonight lol
- Honestly tho that prologue was so impactful!! Gave me easy silence feels and you know how I feel abt that book.
- “You’re here,” he whispered.
I got goosebumps ):
I hate that I have to be up at 5 tomorrow because that means less reading time today but seriously this book keeps getting better with every chapter I read.
- “I haven’t quite figured you out yet, August Fitzpatrick. But I think you’re a pretty good guy.” I knew I should’ve left it at that, but I couldn’t. “You remind me of someone I used to know.” “Who’s that?” He tilted his head in confusion. “I haven’t met him yet.”
Ahhhh this part. I can’t deal with the feels. Man I wanna devour this book but ugh real life won’t let me until the weekend ):
- I’m absolutely loving it.

After that I got too eager and finished it that night lol. I went into this book expecting a lot because a) Beth never disappoints and b) the plot/genre is something I am crazy about for the past year or so. I love the idea of love transcending all obstacles (and I am going to say nothing more because it would be too spoilerish lol). My heart went out to Matthew and Grace and I was rooting for Olivia and August so hard because dang it they deserved love and their HEA. My only complain is I wanted more of Matthew and Grace and possibly a longer epilogue lol I know I am super selfish like that. Overall, it was a lovely read.

A non spoiler review!

WOW! what a story, so unexpected, so NOT what I thought, so unbelievably AMAZING! I was so INVESTED in this story.

IVE NEVER READ ANYTHING LIKE THIS BOOK! it truly is one of those books you read and just can’t stop. Your first thought is ok I see what’s happening but trust me you won’t.

It’s beautiful and sad, it’s happy and inspiring. it’s beautifully written. It’s full of hope and love, it’s full of then and now. It has intertwined lives and omg I didn’t see these things coming. Olivia and August, Grace and Matthew. They broke my heart and mended it again. So many people and the effect each had on another. I’m not sure how Beth wrote this story but I’m glad she did. I’m incomplete and utter awwwww! When you start reading it you become ridiculously intrigued. Your emotions go on overload. Angsty and suspenseful. Just gahhhh I have no words, I don’t know what to say. This book was everything I needed, I want more, I hate that it ended. So beautiful. If your looking for past, present and with a twist this is your book. But trust me. It’s not what you think.

Definitely 5 stars. I'm a romantic at heart and dramatic in nature and this book has pulled these two strings so hard that if it would have been possible, then all the stars that I'm seeing right now in the sky would have fallen for this book.
I was always fascinated with past lives and reincarnation but I never found such book that could shake me to my core. But today, my search has ended. Thank you Beth Rinyu for such a beautiful masterpiece. Grace and Matthew, Olivia and August showed me that true love and soul mates are real and they are not judged by skin colors, by jealousy, by deceit and most importantly by time.
I was hesitant at first to read it because I tend to get so much into the characters that I forget about myself and I knew that this book would had that kind of pull on meBeth Rinyu and it did. Grace and Matthew made me cry a lot and wishing I could save them from the pain they ought to be feeling and Olivia and August gave me hope that our loved ones are always there for us and that true love can tear through time just to come to you.
"Someday. Not in this lifetime, but someday, I'll be seeing you." ❤

Olivia is new to town and meets August, and they just feel that spark and connection. But the story is about so much more than a new romance. There is a lot of history in this small town. And as Olivia and August begin to learn more about the past, the story continues to become more layered and intricate. August and Olivia are drawn to each other so powerfully, that it is intense. And there is also a suspense subplot and multiple possible antagonists adding interest and more tension.

This is a beautiful, but sometimes heartbreaking story of two souls searching for each other. It makes you want to believe in destiny, fate, soul mates, and true love. August and Olivia are both likable, caring, and thoughtful. They are good people who just want to live life on their own terms, but seem to get judged or manipulated by those around them. And as they are trying to figure out what is really going on in their current lives, little glimpses from the past add complexity to the puzzle. It is interesting to see the story unravel and the ripple effect that actions can have. I enjoyed trying to put the pieces together as I was reading. This author always does a good job of creating well developed, complex characters and plots, and this is no exception. And though there is sadness in this story, it also brings acceptance, hope, and something special.

I'll Be Seeing You is one of those stories that I never saw coming as it knocked me for a loop. I mean, I love Beth Rinyu's talented writing style, and the description intrigued me, but the actual story was so much more than I ever imagined to be honest. So now, I have to decide how to play this review, because I want everyone to experience the absolute beauty that I did because I didn't know what I was getting into. First of all, I was transported into the story physically, so it truly felt like I was watching it all unfold live & in person from Ms. Rinyu's descriptive genius with words. Then there were August & Olivia, who I loved instantly. They had one foot in the present, & one foot in the past seamlessly, not forced at all so the paranormal undertones were perfect. Obviously, this brought on a ton of twists, which not only had my f-bombs dropping, but kept me on the edge of my seat because I could kind of see where it was going, although not quite to the degree it did. There's a cast of secondaries who had me 50 shades of suspicious, as they made up the good, the bad, and the very ugly. I couldn't put this story down until I finished every last word, so trust me when I say that I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I went into this book with very little knowledge of it, and I'm so glad I did.

This book was honestly what I've been looking for, for so long. Romance with a hint of almost an paranormal quality. It felt like I was in a dream while reading. It's a unique story that will have you crying your eyes out one second and smiling like a crazy person the next.

I absolutely loved the characters. Olivia was so strong and very noble, she knew what and who she was, despite her past. And even though she got to doubting a little, she never wavered in strength and she never let that bring her down or change her.
August.... What can I say about August? He was so sweet and yet very determined. He had to deal with so much on his own, I felt for him.

Beth managed to create a book with drama, angst, a historical element and a dream-like paranormal quality.

Highly recommend this!

I’ll Be Seeing You by Beth Rinyu is a very unique story, as it intertwines lives from the present, but also from the past. We are introduced to Olivia who at 27 years old is feeling alone after losing the woman who raised her and August, whom she meets when she begins to care for his grandmother.

When Olivia and August first meet, it’s as if they have known each other for years, but they don’t understand the attraction and familiarity. Both have vivid dreams of scenarios from the past and are not sure if they actually happened. Throughout the book their story seems to parallel past experiences of others and the words and sentiment are beautiful.

“When someone we love dies; they never really leave us. They live on in different ways all around us, and if we’re lucky enough, we’ll cross paths with them again. It may not be the person we knew in life in the physical sense, but their soul that leads us back to them.”

I’m not usually a fan of paranormal books, but I truly could not put this book down. Ms. Rinyu is correct when she states “This is very different than anything she has written”. I did figure out where the story was heading, half way through, but it did not take away from the experience at all. The two worlds colliding made this a wonderful story and one I would highly recommend. The author’s message at the end spoke loudly to the world today, “We love who we love.”

Definitely a book, not to be missed. I look forward to the author’s next release.

This was such an exceptional and unique love story. The love between these characters transcended over years; beyond belief. Olivia and August were wonderful characters and their unexplainable connection stems from a past that seems familiar but strange at the same time. Yet, their connection is undeniable. This story has a paranormal feel to it but it's so much more. Race plays a major part of this story and in a town with a dirty, dark and ugly past, secrets can only stay hidden for so long. Two souls are meant to reunite and have their second chance because love does conquer all in this one. This story is full of suspense, romance, drama, love, dark secrets, a second chance at love and finding piece. I'll definitely be recommending this story to family and friends because this is one that should not be missed. I absolutely loved it!!!!

Title: I'll Be Seeing You
Author: Beth Rinyu
Genre: Contemporary Dramatic Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
This is the first book I have read by this author and I was impressed. I admit it took me a moment to get into the book but once I did you could feel the warmth, the love, the desire to reconnect.

The writing in itself was not overly technical or complex. It really felt like reading a simple narrative. Yet, as the characters interact and the drama unfolds you naturally feel the tensions, expectations, excitement, sadness, and every other emotion evoked until the end.

At the end end of the book the author addressed how difficult it was identifying with her character because she is not of mixed heritage and has never lived through that race discrimination but it was important to her to try and identify with her character as she wrote the book. This was evident in the book.

Yes we feel Olivia's pain and despair as she desires to belong after she endures an act of discrimination but it needs to be noted the disconnect in the acts of discrimination by a select few and the population as a whole. Southern, rich, white people...only like 4...who say she doesn't belong. She grew up in Philadelphia, current times, sure she may have experienced discrimination but not to the extent she was an outsider. The race aspect that is playing is based on a storyline from the 1940's that is important to the story as a whole. Hence the disconnect. You feel the disconnect a lot. At least I did. As a side note before anyone asks, yes I have identified as white my whole life. I may identify as white but I do understand discrimination in my own way. But enough about me.

This does not cloud my review of this wonderfully sweet, romantic, and poignant book. The author is correct: love is blind and the soul is all that matters. I'LL BE SEEING YOU

This book . . . their story. . . this new to me author. . . There are so many things about this story and the skill the author uses to relay it. Having relatives that have and continue to live this life and identity makes the story more personal. The way the author introduces us to the characters and lays the series of events out pieces from the past mixed and mingle into the present, drawing us in, having us go thru time past and present to right a wrong. I loved the story, then I hated it. I wanted to just get to the point but I didn't want to miss anything. August and Olivia, Grace and Matthew so many impacted by one action, the sins of the father, it seems to come to light time after time. It's a brilliant story with characters you'll love who will pull at your heartstrings, and ones you just pity for their ignorance while others are just a waste of space. This novel is so much more than a love story, it's so much more than rectifying a past injustice, it's a promise kept. She swore with her last breath to Matthew, "I'll be seeing you."

WOW I’m so completely blown away right now! I’m a huge fan of this author but this book right here is a masterpiece and something so different to what I’ve read from her before. This story takes your heart and soul on an intense journey that spans lifetimes. Blending obstacles not only faced years ago, but in ignorance, some still faced today. I was so invested in these characters, not just the main characters of today, but the ones of yesteryears as well. Rinyu blended the two in such a magnificent way, one that at times had my heart bleeding with sadness and at other times filled with hope. There are so many twist, turns and revelations that see you angry as hell at times, but in true Rinyu form she delivers them at just the right moment. August, Olivia, Matthew and Grace leave you breathless and touch your soul in this book, one I know I personally will never forget.

I was captivated from the moment I read the prologue, I knew this was going to be a special book, one very different from anything Beth has written thus far. With so many twists and turns, this book as it all … suspense, sadness, happiness, tragedy and romance, and if you enjoy the paranormal then you are in for a real treat.
I instantly fell in love with Olivia & August (and Grace & Matthew), cheering them on the entire way. It’s a beautifully written story about the past and present, heartbreak and love, discrimination and beating the odds.
Grandma Fitzpatrick is one of my favorite characters and the mystery behind how she became entangled with Olivia & August and Grace & Matthew. Oh, the heartbreak (have the boxes of tissues by your side).
I’ll be Seeing You is a MUST read!! The story will transform you into a believer of fate, destiny and true love.

Where to begin? I really enjoyed reading this book. It was not what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised.
“When someone we love dies; they never really leave us. They live on in different ways all around us, and if we’re lucky enough, we’ll cross paths with them again. It may not be the person we knew in life in the physical sense, but their soul that leads us back to them.” This quote just got me in the feels. I am a true believer in souls finding each other when it’s meant to be. Whether it’s in this lifetime or the next. This story also deals with discrimination and a sense of not belonging. I am latino and have experienced some of the same. It’s a great read you won’t be disappointed.

This is a beautiful unique love story that will tug at your heartstrings. From the synopsis you get the feeling it's going to very different and it Is in a really good way.

The two main characters August and Olivia are a delight to read. You want to keep reading to find out how their story will unfold. The author did an amazing job writing the story, where past and present are intertwined. It could have got confusing with this fusion but it didn't the whole story flowed perfectly.

If your looking for a love story full of romance with something different you'll love this book.

Outstanding character development - absolutely connected with each individual - the good and the bad. Really like Olivia and August's story and the twists and turns to get to the bottom of what had really happened.
As with all of Beth Rinyu's books - beautifully written - story just perfectly flows.

I loved how this story unfolded. August and Olivia experiencing memories from Matthew and Grace. Finding each other, two souls who were denied their happily ever after in one life finding it in this one. I enjoyed how interconnected the whole community was in this story. Discovering so many truths by the end of the book. This was an incredible book and I highly recommend it.
