He is the one that never looks her way.
He is handsome and strong.
He is rough around the edges and mean.
He is everything she’s ever wanted.
He doesn’t even know she exists.
Her life is a joke.

She doesn’t step on cracks in the sidewalk.
She laughs at inappropriate times.
She talks when she shouldn’t.
She is clumsy and trips on air.
She is finally on his radar.
God help her now.

I’m obviously NOT with the majority on this but I just...can’t!

The heroine - while I knew she was going to be a mess - was just too OTT and the Hero was just too weak for me taste.

She pined for the Hero but never did anything about it..she NEVER even tried to be with anyone else. She preferred to be a wallflower but then got mad when no one noticed her. He was your typical popular jock in high school but I didn’t find him that much better as an adult. They worked at the same school - in a very s

I loved Raleigh and Ezra. Raleigh was clumsy and adorkable and Ezra was absolutely perfect for her once he realized she existed.

Raleigh has known Ezra for most of her life but until recently, she had been invisible to him. I love that there is no excuse for who they were as teenagers. Sometimes you’re a shithead and then you get to grow up and learn from life. Ezra’s growth was exponential and he became a loving, caring, mature person that suits Raleigh to a tee. Their chemistry was off the cha

Hissy Fit is the first in a new series by Lani Lynn Vale and I am very excited about it! Most of her other series are MC clubs or police, but the Southern Gentlemen is neither! Here are the top reasons I clicked with Hissy Fit:

The characters are teachers. Teachers are amazing!
Raleigh is a great name (and a town I lived in and loved)!
You can relate in some way to Raleigh's struggles-either her clumsiness or her invisibility will resonate with readers.

So, Ezra, our hero is a popular f

Raleigh and Ezra have such a cute, sweet story.

First off, I love that they are teachers. As a teacher, I feel that we rarely get written about in books (at least not in a good light)

Raleigh is such a sweet heart. She is clumsy. She makes mistakes. She is a real person. I love that she isn’t a “perfect” woman. That she is normal and has flaws.

Ezra.... honestly I was mad at him at first. He didn’t notice Raleigh before an incident at Target even though have have been working together.

But….I feel

GAH!! You guys!!! Hissy Fit is the perfect example of why I loveeee Lani Lynn Vale's stories. It was funny, swoony, heartwarming and absolutely addicting. Ezra and Raleigh were delicious and delightful and another reason why this author should be on everyone's #autoclick radar!!

When accident prone Raleigh Jolie Crusie falls at the feet of her lifetime crush, Ezra McDuff - town bad boy and now high school football and baseball coach, she never expects to get on his radar. But with every clumsy fa

Hissy Fit was everything and more. I absolutely adored this book. It was so addictive. I laughed so hard and smiled so wide. This book made me glow.

Raleigh is an absolute klutz. Everyone knows it. She is always hurting herself and sometimes she has casualties included in her clumsiness. One of those times, Ezra bears witness to the klutz queen in action. It is what gets her noticed by him. Although they are always in the vicinity of each other and have been for years, Raleigh was fairly invisib

I have to say that this book made me laugh and scream at my kindle all at the same time. Then there would be parts where I was like that is so cute. This is one of those books that you either like it or you don't. You may not like it because at some point being a dork and nerd gets old but it is who Raleigh is and she is sweet a little to sweet and naive at times but she fits this story very well. Ezra on the other hand made me mad and I did not like him at first but then he grew on me and I sta ...more

Quite seriously, why is the pining doormat heroine always a virgin - absolutely pathetic! And HE is of course a manwhore for years for her to witness in action with OW. Absolutely NOT a love story. A pathetic sexist story.

A dime a dozen.

A brand new Lani Lynn Vale series, woohooooo!!! Hissy Fit was much more than Ezra and Raleigh's captivating story, it's the introduction of SO MANY enticing characters and stories in this new LLV world of Gun Barrel, Texas!

It really was quite a introduction to this new series, the town beloved 'hero', ex-player turned coach falling for the town 'reject', the shy and clumsy girl that had always had harbored the biggest of crushes towards him, but he never saw, who

"I had this idea in my mind that maybe I wasn't quite as invisible as I always felt like I was at times. Apparently, if the football coach, who knew everybody didn't even know me, then I was a lost cause."

I couldn't help wincing every time she 'tripped on air' or injured herself. I wanted to wrap her in bubble wrap and heal her hurts. And then I wanted to have a girl's night with her and her bestie. I couldn't help finding her quirks endearing and her sense of humor entertaining. She doesn't l

An emotional punch that made me smile, smile, smile…

This author knows how, when and where to send the emotional punch arrow to have the most effect. With Hissy Fit, that arrow found its target over and over…

They grew up in the same small town yet popular, athletic Ezra was only now seeing Raleigh for who she really was. Who she had always been. Sweet, accident prone, with a compassionate heart that could see under the surface. Big man on campus and nerd girl grew up and suddenly the whole game c

This is my least favorite by Lani ): This one was a bit difficult to get through because of the bullying and how the h never really stood up for herself through it all till kinda the end but still was too much of a nice person to do anything more. There was OW drama that was quite annoying and didn’t get dealt with till the end of the book as well. The h and H knew each other in hs but the h was invisible to the H. She always had a crush on him and remembered every single girl that the H went ou ...more

This was a basic contemporary romance, I enjoyed it for the most part but I did feel like the h could have made the H work a bit harder to get her. She was in love with him forever, they lived in the same town, went to the same school, worked at the same place and he didn't even know who she was. She gave up the goods almost immediately to him all because he finally noticed her. h was a bit weak for my taste. There were a few other nit picky things but not worth getting into except to say there ...more

Raleigh is my spirit animal. Seriously, her adorable clumsiness, long time secret (maybe not so secret to some) love of Ezra and willingness to help those in need was so incredible endearing.
Ezra was completely clueless to all things Raleigh. Boy did he miss out on the prize when he was younger. BUT once he really notices Raleigh he ain’t no dummy. He knows she’s the ultimate prize and he wastes no time making her his.

I received an ARC in return for an honest review. I want to start with a question. Why do we make the heroine seem undesirable from the beginning? Raleigh is literally a walking disaster. She falls all of the time, hurts herself and usually other people near her and is basically invisible. How are any of those traits desirable. I understand all women deserve to be happy but I was a little unsure with this one. I didn’t even feel the attraction between them. And how did his niece and nephews just ...more

This author’s book covers and titles never fail to grab my attention, folks, even though I don’t always see how applicable they are to the story line. What can I say? I still can’t help but giggle, smile, and often swoon a little just looking at them. The humor and personalities she injects into each one make them memorable, as well. She certainly has a unique writing style all her own.

Raleigh Jolie Crusie, is a walking disaster. Accidents and mayhem just seem to follow her, she's a magnet for mishaps. So when Ezra McDuff drops a box of condoms on her at the local Target, it really shouldn't come as any real surprise. When the said box causes her nose to bleed, well it's just par for the course. The fact that it's Ezra Doran McDuff, the guy she's crushed on since high school-the cherry on the humiliation sundae.

Hissy Fit kicks off Lani Lynn Vale’s new series, The Southern Gentleman, and I am hooked. Vale introduces a new town in her beloved Texas and a whole host of new characters, and I can’t wait for more of this series! Vale brings it all to the table in this first book, and fills the pages with a few swift kicks to the feels, her quirky sense of humor, an intriguing suspense arc and a steamy romance.

I mean when the first chapter has that in it you just know your in for a hilarious ride.

She's invisible, until she isn't.
He didn't know she existed. Until she bumped into him.

The queen of klutz and the town's heart throb. Raleigh and Ezra don't work on paper. Seriously they couldn't be any more different and yet somehow they work.

This story maintains Lani's usual sarcastic Witt, dysfunctional shenanigans and Hella crazy characters t

This was my kind of book... The nerdy clumsy, dorky girl and the hot sexy popular jock/coach...

Raleigh has been inlove with Ezra since high school, but he never noticed her. He was the popular guy and she was the clumsy dork. Now years later, she is the loveable teacher and he is the infamous coach, and even now he doesn't notice her. Until the day he gives her a bloody nose, lol...
Now it seems his eyes has finally been opened.

Ezra is the high school football/baseball coach and he lives with his

I'm going against popular opinion here, so it's probably me and not the book. But honestly I didn't get why after literally laughing at her (especially during that awful incident during their prom), not recognizing her after sitting in front of her for two years in different classes during high school and then working at the same school, knowing her family (even where they live) he just suddenly fell in lust/love. Huh? Did I miss 50 pages or so? Because if no

I Loved this book!!! Raleigh is a dang danger to herself and everyone else. She has crap luck, and is a klutz. She is super enduring and lovable. Ezra is really salt of the earth, the chemistry between the two is off the charts. This has to be one the best written books from a character driven point. The pace of the book is perfect for the type of book this is, which is more on the romantic comedy side.
The characters are well developed and I really had an easy time reading this. I didn't have to
Raleigh has had a crush on Ezra since she could remember, the only problem he never noticed her. Even now that they had gone to school and college together, he was oblivious of her especially since they work together. When Raleigh is assigned to take over Ezra's sex ed class she gets noticed. Of course the incident at the store put her on Ezra's radar and now Ezra is wanting to get to know the quirky woman who puts a smile on his face. Will Raleigh finally get the man of her dreams or is Ezra ju ...more

Ezra is a pretty popular guy in town. He is the football and baseball coach and was a pretty big deal back when he was in school as well.

Raleigh was a wallflower back in school and is pretty much the same now. She is teaching at the same school that Ezra is but he does not see her until she literally runs into him (which was pretty hilarious by the way). She is sweet and sassy but also SO FREAKING accident prone.

I’m an avid reader of Lani Lynn Vale stories and a huge fan of her story lines and characters, so when I saw that she was writing a new series - one set in a small town community that focuses on the lives of teachers - I couldn’t wait to be introduced to a new set of colorful characters and the interesting things that happen to them and to those around them.

Raleigh Jolie Crusie is definitely a heroine who readers will identify with; she’s a quite quirky, a total hot mess, and a klutz like no on

“I love you, Raleigh,” I told her. “I love you like a quarterback loves the feel of the laces between his fingers. Like a baseball player loves the feel of an old, worn glove that he’s put thousands of hours into. Like the goddamn sun and the moon. You’re it for me. You’ll be my wife one day. You’ll have my kids.
