"There's no me without you"

This author is fast becoming an auto-read for me: every book to date of hers I've read has knocked my socks off and this one is no exception.
This second book in the deadly sins series focuses on reaper Maureen the keeper of Pride and Jackal an entity that hasn't been active for eons.
Jackal has been sleeping away his pain: A scourge upon mankind his only prior purpose was to pave the way for man's downfall by delivering disease and pestilence in his wake.
Upon annihilating a village with his particular talent a witch curses him with her dying breath to feel the pain and suffering of the 137 lives he has taken.
Unable to process the sheer depth of emotion from these hearts Jackal chooses to hibernate in his cave sleeping the pain away.
That is until Maureen with the intention of winning a bet locates and collars him taking away his free will.
So this was a fantastic second part to what is fast becoming a favourite series for me.
This had all the ingredients to capture and retain my attention and this was a worthy second instalment to the seven sins saga.
It also didn't hurt that this was also as hot as Hades.
Jackal was a real favourite of mine here: his lack of prior emotions and experience with them making for some very amusing situations and while Maureen herself could have been extremely irritating here with her prideful ways.
I felt the pair tempered each other ever so nicely: Jackal causing some much-needed humility in His little Monsters behaviour.
Jackal’s Pride also continues where bewitching Sloth left off with the battle for mankind's survival and that of the Reapers hanging in the balance: so you do really need to start this with book one.
Jackal himself bringing a whole new element to this particular fight joining the Reapers side in their now ongoing battle.
Can't wait to see what's on the horizon in regards to this series it's just that addictive.
This one gets a sure hell yeah from my camp.
I voluntary reviewed an Arc of Jackal’s Pride (Seven Deadly #2)
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

I can admit that I got hooked on the Grim Reaper siblings during book one so I was more then ready to get my hands on this new installment. This time we get to follow Maureen who's sin is Pride. She undertakes a bet that leads her to the infamous Jackal who will change her life as she knows it. While adapting to him she is still helping the sibs try to fix the upcoming end of the world. Full of incredible world building that will keep you intrigued as the full story unfolds. Perfect for fans of paranormal romance. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Made it to the 50% mark then found something else to read so I dropped it.
The heroine is a bit if a user and pusher which annoyed me at times. The H is the usual alpha growling macho, but he is definitely more likeable than her.
Anyways.. its a DNF for now.

Quickly become a favorite paranormal story line of mine.

You must read book one before you read book two. While this is about a new couple the setting and what's going on around these two is very important and super interesting.

Maureen, cursed with pride is a tough cookie. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about all her snark and attitude she through off in book one. We start the book with her being bet to find a collar and entity that hasn't been seen in centuries, Jackal. Not one to turn down a bet her, her mission is set.

Jackal has just taken a very long nap is awoken to world he doesn't know cursed with the same problems as he went to sleep with. Unable to handle all of the things going on inside of him he is drawn to Maureen but he can't figure out why.

So begins the battle of wills. Maureen bends for no one. Jackal...well...he's Jackal. Their introduction to each other is very much a hate/hate type of relationship where one threatens death upon the other at least once every hour. But around them the human world is still falling apart and there seems like no solution in sight. This book was filled with information. A lot of things were happening, new enemies surfaces, new problems popped up and it seems very much like the Reapers have an uphill battle before this is all over.

Completely caught up in the story I was engrossed in this book much like the last time. Maureen and Jackal's chemistry was literally explosive at times and I can't get over how perfectly they fit. I liked Maureen a lot more than I thought I would. While she is all steel and nails on the outside, she is still a women under it all.

I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This series is so freaking good and we are only 2 books in!!

The way this book is written you can't help but to dive right into this world and experience everything as though you ate there.
Pride one sin we all have and it tries to make us to things we normally would not do.
Maureen the Grim Reapers oldest daughter has that in spades and it brings her to Jackal and wow , I could not put this book down .

GIVE ME MORE! Like NOW! Jackal’s Pride is just amazing as book one in this series. The imagination and ingenuity is amazingly clever. This author has not only created a story, but they created a whole world that I am dying to know more about. Not only was this story amazing, but she set it up perfectly for the next story. If you like fantasy and romance, then you better get you this book now. You will regret it if you wait any longer.
The plot of this story is astonishing. There is the main plot that started in book one, but this story also has its own plot. This follows one of the reaper siblings who have been cursed. This specific character has been cursed with the sin of pride. The way the author is able to weave a tale that spans books, yet also tell us the story of each individual is inspiring.
Maureen is cursed. She is so prideful that it was actually painful to read from her point of view at times. I really wanted to shake her and maybe smack her around a bit. It was perfect though. Her character really encompassed her sin, yet also showed that you are not only one thing. Then you have Jackal. He also proved that you create your own destiny. He is a special character with which I really enjoyed.
Do you like heat? If you do, then this book is for you. I mean you have two beings of another world. If that doesn’t scream HOT then I do not know what does. Add in the fact that the first meeting between these two is not as smooth as one would hope, and you have the recipe for an amazing chemistry.
The writing style of this book is great. The pace is steady. The story is told from a dual point of view. We get to meet and see other characters. What I think I loved most about this story is that there are many twists and turns. Most that I didn’t even see coming. That is an accomplishment on its own.
Overall, I freaking floved this book. Seriously, this book is amazing. I highly suggest this book to others who enjoy a good fantasy/paranormal novel. This series will suck you in and leave you begging for more. I am in awe of this series and cannot wait for the next one.

“I’ve been sleeping for so long, waiting to find you all this time, just so I can love you.”

I was genuinely blow away by this book. It’s hard to find a good paranormal book so I was pleasantly surprised when reading this gem.

Maureen is one of the daughters of the Grim Reaper. The sin she was cursed with is Pride and we all know what they say about Pride......
She is one bad ass chick who does what she wants when she wants but will drop all of that to help the humans. She doesn’t believe she will ever find love because of her sin. She cannot submit to anyone. She also cannot back down from bets. She accepts all because of her sin and one of those bets lands her Jackal. He is pestilence. He has been out of action for a very long time and is greatly disturbed and furious and this dark haired vixen who finds him. What starts off as contempt and sanguinary hatred soon morphs into lust and possessiveness. Jack (Jackal) is surprised at how much he feels especially when it comes to Maureen. He accepts it. He wants her to accept it too but that is a little more difficult because of her sin.

“In the crook of my arm, pride fell asleep. It didn’t mean it would always sleep, but with me, my Little Monster found reprieve.”

Where has this author been hiding?! This has been one of my favorite reads of 2018. This book did not bore me. It kept me interested right until the very last page. Both the characters were badasses. Every strong woman needs an even stronger man (in this sense I mean physically). Prise submits to no one...... unless he’s Jackal!

Jackal’s Pride by Michelle Gross
“Setting pride aside, 5 stars”

Maureen’s sin is pride and it sometimes gets the best of her. When she took on a bet, she knew she would win. What she didn’t know is that finding Jackal would set off a chain of events. Is she in over her head? Will she submit to Jackal or will her pride keep her from doing so?
Jackal has been asleep and all he wants to do is go back to sleep. But there is something about Maureen that calls to him. Once he figures it out its game over. Jackal doesn’t know how to lose and always gets what he wants. Will he get Maureen?
I feel like I have waited forever for Jackal’s Pride! I loved the story not just the love aspect between our couple but also the scenes with Maureen and her family. I fell into the story and didn’t want to come up. I hope, I pray, that Gross gives us book three soon because I need more NOW.

Michelle Gross outdid herself with Jackal's Pride! Don't get me wrong, I loved Sebastian and Izzy, but it seems like everything got turned up ten notches in this one! Maureen had me curious from the get go, a girl cursed with Pride. I think her portrayal of Pride was dead on, now of course it got annoying at times but Maureen can't help it. A bet that Pride can't turn away has her in the sights of one of the most dangerous entities. Jackal. Pestilence. Disease. Death. Maureen's Pride won't let her give up with Jackal, and the newly awakened entity won't give up on his own curse being quiet in the presence of Maureen.

I loved all the new secrets revealed this book and caught myself getting enamoured pretty quickly with Jack and Maureen. The race is on to stop the end of days and this family will die to protect humanity. Through some truly awful bumps we finally get to see the real Maureen, she's tough and kickass but she can also be soft and loving. Add that in with Jackal learning how to feel and be humanish, THEN add in this kickass family and you have a five star book you'll be telling all your friends about!

4.5 Stars of awesomesauce!

I wasn’t sure what I would think of Maureen. I really didn’t like her from Bewitching Sloth, but I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I thought she was a little full of herself, but now see exactly how her sin has affected her and that started to change the way that I saw her. But my greatest surprise in the story was Jackal. I really ended up being empathetic with him more than I was with Maureen.

This book contains a lot of passion … surprising because of Jackal. Gotta read the book to understand that comment. But when it comes to claiming, Jackal does not do anything half measures! But what I didn’t expect was the roller coaster that the plot went on. I didn’t see the end coming, but I was pretty impressed with how it played out.

Overall, freaking awesome! Again, I got pulled into the story and enjoyed the characters more than I thought I would. The storyline was well written and very engaging. Two thumbs up for me! Happy reading :)

Jackal’s Pride is book 2 in the Seven Deadly Series, you’ll want to go back and read book one so you are caught up and because it’s amazing! I enjoyed Maureen and Jack’s story and watching each of them fall. We are facing end of time and it’s up to our Reapers to stop it. But during it all we get steamy and hot scenes along with just about everything else. I really enjoyed Maureen and how strong she is, of course her curse doesn’t help but watching her surrender to Jack was the best. Jack is just the cutest, trust me and read this series!

5 heart wrenching stars!!

This series is so awesome!!! I enjoyed Jack and Maureen’s story so much that I read it within a day!! Of course Pride drives you nuts throughout the book but Jack is just so sweet and innocent that you have to keep reading. I believe her sin was very difficult to deal with and made her strong. I’m looking forward to the next book but I really want to read Kitty’s book, she is the comic relief of these characters. I know she will probably be last but her book I’m sure it will be filled with very dark humor.

OMG!! I want more! I think this book is even more intriguing than Bewitching Sloth but you need to read it before tackling this book because the main plot is set up in Bewitching. Each book follows a Reaper sibling this is Maureen’s book. Maureen is cursed with being prideful. She comes face-to-face with Jackal who is created by the Devil himself. Jackal has been asleep for a very, very long time and has no intentions of ever waking but Maureen stumbles upon him on a bet. She collars him and that takes his free will away. Their chemistry is explosive, but will they be able to prevent the fall of all of mankind? This book has so many twists and turns in this book I couldn’t put it down!! I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!! I highly recommend this book!

great read, In love with Jack and his primal energy

I really enjoyed this book. The plot and story line continue to get better. From the first book I wasn’t so excited to go to Maureen (pride) but after her story I’m glad I did. Especially because of Jack, but it also helped me realize issues within myself. Jack suddenly having to deal with his emotions and everything that comes with being alive was marvelous, and hot. I was worried at first that pride wasn’t going to overcome her pride, it felt like for most of the book she was excusing herself. But after a much needed talk with her mother, and bright baron, and her own feelings she came too. Which, I was glad to see I like when characters have faults and try to fix them, really makes them relatable. Michelle, baby, I can’t wait until this damn series if finished because I know I’m going to devour the next three books.

Pride really is a freaking bitch, just ask Maureen, she grew up with her and changed a sweet and loving young girl into someone that she did not want to be. You could feel Maureen's struggle and it was very heart wrenching not to be able to truly say/do what you feel. Then she gets into a bit of a pickle and ends up with a pet, The Jackal, who has been asleep for thousands of years and is cursed. How is it going to work out with an almost feral immortal and one that her sin won't allow her to back down? Read and see!

Dangggg if you thought the first book was hot, this one was a freaking scorcher!! I loved how everything played out here and how it all flowed. Michelle Gross might be a fairly new author to me, but she has a freaking fan now!

There was a lot of humor and hotness throughout this story. The steam between Jackal and Maureen was definitely up there. As both struggled with their own sins and natures, I rooted for them to move beyond that. There were some moments of emotions as they worked together and got to know each other. This was an enjoyable book, and I recommend it. I look forward to the next one, Conjuring Wrath.

I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.

Maureen is the daughter of the Grim Reaper. She gambles because of her sin of pride. She meets Jackal, an entity created by the devil that no one has seen for thousands of years, when she takes a bet to collar him and lead him around. Jackal is cursed by a witch to feel the emotions of those he's killed so he sleeps to avoid it. Now that he's awake, Maureen will pay for all she's doing to him. Oh my pride is a downfall and Jackal will collect.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love this series! Pride is such a hard thing to control. I loved how understanding jack was, even though he had a hard time understanding his own feelings. This author did an amazing job at showing the characters growth. The inner struggle they both went through and overcame was beautifully executed.I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Hell. Yes.
I really like this series. Can't wait to read about all characters. Especially Kitty.
I couldn't give this book 4 stars because I didn't like Maureen that much. She was great and all but also kind of annoying. Really liked Jack though.

But overall it's an amazing series.
