Divinity Warriors 1: Lilith Enraptured
Series One of the Divinity Universe
Alternate Reality Romance / Parallel Universe

Sorin of Firewall lives in a land forever at war. In fact, the Starian men are so busy fighting, their marriage ceremony has been reduced to a "will of the gods" event where they simply pick a woman out of a lineup and claim her as a wife. With women becoming scarce, it's necessary to trade the offworld Divinity Corporation for brides. Duty-bound to attend the ceremony, he has no intention of picking a bride, let alone one from another dimension. Duty-bound to attend the ceremony, he has no intention of picking a bride, let alone one from another dimension. That is, until he sees Lilith, the bewitching woman sent by the gods to reward--or punish?--him..

Lilith, a data analyst for Divinity, is betrayed by the Corporation and wakes up in a primitive, uncharted dimension filled with warriors who only know war and duty. But her initial fears of becoming a sex slave to a big beefy knight become all too real when a warrior of god-like proportions claims she's his new woman. As Lilith discovers, there are worse fates than being the focus of Sorin's skillful and earthy seduction.

Here's another series to enjoy by this author who cleverly manages to mix romance, sci fi and action all into one delicious package. There's great world building here with a steamy romance wrapped up inside it. Fans of the authors Dragon Lord books will no doubt recognise the format but I found the contradictions between the almost medieval type world that the hero Sorin hails from compared to Liliths futuristic expectations really added to my enjoyment. Genuine laugh out loud moments but there was a certain innocence about Sorin and it was almost painful at times to realise that he genuinely had no concept about love.
Now luckily Lilith is not exactly the bashful type and her experience as an analyst stands her in good stead as she awakens to this new world. Do not misunderstand it's no easy ride for her and boy does she protest at times but if I were claimed by a total stranger and then thrust into this warring world I'm not sure that I wouldn't cry for my mama! As Lilith grows to care for Sorin the passion between them is explosive and that alpha male does not care where or when! They are a great couple and I'm so looking forward to more in this series. Good pace, very hot scenes, great work building and I loved Sorin!
I was gifted a copy of this in exchange for an honest review

Lilith is an analyst from a futuristic, dimension-hopping company named Divinity. She wakes up in a cage and learns she's been sold by her company as a sex slave to a medieval, war-torn world. She's chosen by the leader, who until then has tried to keep himself apart from women, and has to adjust to her new life as his wife.

I liked it more at the beginning than I did later on. Once Sorin chose her, I had some pretty high expectations that were never quite met. It was a neutral read, but not painful like a lot of the others of this genre.

Lilith Enraptured was my first Michelle M. Pillow's book and I enjoyed myself tremendously. Don't go in expecting an epic tale with a detailed backstory because this book isn't it, but it is perfect for the kind of story that it actually is. This is not a criticism, I wasn't in the mood for a long and complicated book and I love to read shorter stories that still have interesting plots, well developed characters and a great romance. Lilith Enraptured had it all.

Not a novella but shorter than a full-length novel, Lilith Enraptured was a really nice start to this series. The story itself was quite interesting and pulled me from the start. I liked that the author didn't waste time, we are in the midst of things right from the beginning and it made for a captivating start.

I liked both main characters, Lilith and Sorin. I can't say I absolutely loved them because it was a shorter book and it was hard for me to connect with them but I did like them. I enjoyed seeing them together, I do think Pillow wrote their relationship in the right way, under the circumstances and with the length of the story, she did a great job.

I have to admit, the ending did surprise me. Once again, despite the length of the book, the author managed to throw a little twist in there and make us want to read the rest of the series. She also introduced the characters that will star in the other books and I am curious to see where each of their story will go.

All in all, Lilith Enraptured was on the shorter side and it showed with the characters development but it was also a great story with a good premise, the characters while not being my favorites were still very interesting, the romance was on point and the plot was surprising. A very entertaining book, I'm looking forward to reading the next one.

First of I really like the world the author build for the story. Our heroine is an analyst who travels to different alternate universes and documents everything about those. However one day she suddenly finds herself in an unknown kind of primitive universe where she is claimed by one of the lords. In this universe they still have knights and castles and don’t use electricity and the people are in constant war with a species called “cannibals”.
The main focus of the story is of course the love story between Lilith and Sorin. As for that I was kind of annoyed actually. They had their sweet and some steamy moments but Lilith often thought one thing and then did another and that really annoyed me.
But I also really disliked that in general it felt that they weren’t really talking with each other and for a culture in there woman are more treasured because of being rare, I would have liked him to explain thinks to her more and in general be a little nicer.
Thought like I said they also had cute moments.
I also really liked the end and while it was kind of ridiculous too, it made me happy to see them getting their hea.
Overall this was a good read and I could see myself reading the other books in the series one day too.

The first thing that I have to point out about Lilith Enraptured is the world. The concept behind it grabbed my attention from the very beginning. The book has a futuristic sci fi feel to it with a slice of historical fantasy. This world consists of numerous different planes/dimensions. Some are very technologically advanced while some are extremely primitive and medieval feeling. It is all one world. Each dimension has just evolved differently. There are even some similarities between the different planes.

Lilith’s job within the Divinity is to go to different planes and study them. She then compiles her data and analyzes it, compares it to others and moves on to another dimension to observe some more. She loves her job. It allows her to introduce new technology to multiple dimensions. There is just one problem with her most recent jump into a new dimension, she did not take it willingly and she has no clue as to where she is.

Sorin is a royal warrior in Staria. Staria is a dimension in constant battle against a monstrous war mongering evil. The dimension he calls home can be looked at as very primitive in their lifestyle. Their mating/marriage ritual can definitely be considered barbaric compared to modern standards. He is one of the few men that will be allowed to pick one of the otherworlder’s that has been presented before him and a few of his fellow knightly warriors. Lilith soon finds herself with a man claiming to be her husband in a faraway place that she does not belong.

I liked everything about this book. The characters all fleshed out very well. Sorin and Lilith work well as a couple. They both put forth a tremendous amount of effort to make their seemingly impossible situation work out. Readers are introduced very briefly to the heroines of the other three books, along with the males that have taken them. I cannot wait to read the next books in this series and I am ecstatic about the fact that they are on my Kindle waiting for me.

Please note that this is an erotic romance. There are numerous scorching hot sex scenes between a chest pounding alpha male that wants his hesitant bride to want him as much as he wants her. Lilith has some self-doubts about her desires. She wants to go home, but she wants Sorin even though it goes against what she thinks she wants. They make some intense reading.

A simply wonderful read, great characters and storyline that’s riveting read
This is a wonderful start to a new female orientated series that has been written so that there is just the right mixture of romance and action and adventure that you will simply enjoy every moment of in this book.
Lilith is not a shy or retiring female she will stand up to anyone and since she woke up in this new strange world and then she is also with a totally dominant male Sorin that she has never seen before.
However, as they are together, she realises that he is an honourable male and he is able to see that she is a leader, a brave female that would die to keep those she cares for safe.
This is a wonderful book that I am sure you will enjoy every single moment of this book and be left looking forward to future books in this series.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Unlike the Galaxy Brides of Michelle Pillow's :Dragon Lord Series, the Divinity Corporation's brides sent through their portals are not volunteers. In this new scify series, there are portals that transport people to different "planes" where the realms may vary from futuristic medical planets, to ones resembling medieval earth with a twist.

Lilith is an employee of Divity Corp. Often traveling to different planes for her job. Shocked when she awakens one morning in a somewhat primitive world called Staria, Lilith finds herself imprisoned with other females who have also unwillingly been sent there through a Divinity portal. Apparently her company has been sending brides (more like abducted females), for the Staria Warriors, as the women there have become scarce.

The world building is quite creative, captivating and draws you right into the story. Other than the Divinity portal the inhabitants of this plane have chosen to live with limited technology, no vehicles, no modern medicine, lots of primitive warriors who need a wife to come home to in between there unending war with a race of horrible creatures.

Lilith is a highly educated modern woman who is by no means weak or docile. There is no way she is just going to accept the circumstances she is forced into. She is determined to figure out a way to to rescue herself and the other kidnapped women.
Lilith is not a whiny helpless female, but an enjoyable character and interesting heroine. I admired her intelligence and strength of character, she is no weak woman and is going to be quite a challenge for whichever Warrior chooses her for a wife.

Enter Sorin whose high rank affords him the privilege of being the first to choose a wife. Despite the fact that Sorin does not wish to remarry after being betrayed by his deceased first wife, he cannot help but be drawn to Lilith. The hunky, possessive, hot, alpha hero is not prepared for the spirited women he has claimed. I really liked Sorin, he has had a difficult past and is really a good man underneath the tough exterior.

Despite the circumstances, Lilith and Sorin make a great couple. The chemistry between them builds gradually evolving into not just a relationship but also a partnership, and of course lots of hot erotic love scenes.
The story flows seamlessly weaving together romance, cultural and time clashes, adventure, thrills, and humor. I love how the Heroine and Hero grow both individually and together. This is another exciting, hot ,romantic scify book and series by Michelle Pillow.

Audio Book Review
Lilith Enraptured is a fine example of awesome world building with a great story and steamy love to go with it. The book starts off as a futuristic sci-fi story, filled with medical and technological advances. Then thrust us back in time to a medieval love story. I loved the warriors of Starian. Loyal and honor bound to fight the ongoing war that is known to their land. They are Alphas all the way. All the know is duty, war and honoring ones family. Too many men in need of a loving woman.
Lilith, taken from all she knew and left to a race of warriors who “claim” their woman in marriage. Yes, I found her whiny at times, but then I know I would be too. She fought a battle within herself, while knowing that was not her home, she couldn’t keep herself from loving him. Then the battle became how do you love someone who doesn’t know the concept of love.
Sorin, is like a dream on a stick. The perfect Alpha male. He is big and built, a leader in battle, but war is all he knows. He says, the Gods told him that she was the one to be his wife. I believe that it was love at first sight. In a race that in so wrapped up in war and the females a few, preserving the race is a forbearer to love. He had a need to protect her at all cost and I believe that there was more than just duty and honor to it.
I had the pleasure of listing to Lilith Enraptured as an audiobook. I thought it was a pleasant listen. The narrator did a good job delivering this tale. She did a great job of distinguishing who was who and brought the emotions of the written word to life with voice.
Ms. Pillow delivered a great story with Lilith Enraptured. The more I listen to the book the more I wanted to hear. Super steamy love scenes with hot warriors will have you fanning yourself. Yes the book is HOT! A wonderful mixing of genres that gives the reader a very unique world to explore. Well done, Ms. Pillow.
I was given an audio copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I really liked the futuristic sci-fi feel and the touch of historical fantasy in this book.

Lilith travels to different dimensions to observe and record different aspects of their cultures. She wakes and finds herself trapped in a different dimension and to be "married" to whom ever chooses her.

Sorin is a warrior on Staria and chooses Lilith. He is everything Lilith doesn't want in a man. He is domineering and believes his word is not to be questioned. They are mated and faced with war in the dimension as well as their private life.

The characters and storyline are very well developed and there is never a moment that you feel lost while meeting other characters and learning about some of the other dimensions. There are hot sex scenes just as you would expect from Michelle M. Pillow but the scenes add to the story and aren't a distraction.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes some sci-fi, historical fantasy and sex wrapped up in one place.

I absolutely loved this start to the Divinity Warriors books! The world building in this book was fantastic, Ms. Pillow's story makes me want to read so much more about Divinity and all of the worlds or parallel universes that the Divinity Corporation can reach.

Sorin, our hot sexy hero, isn't interested in picking a bride, but he wants Lilith the moment he sees her. Lilith, our heroine, is forcefully sent to Sorin's realm by the Divinity Corporation and isn't very happy about it, but Sorin might make her change her mind.

Lilith Enraptured is one hot story that is very well written, and I like sexy books with sexy scenes! I also really enjoyed both Sorin and Lilith and really liked their story. Not only are the main characters great, but there is a glimpse of some other sexy warriors that need a bride and we got to meet their ladies that are coming up in the next books. Highly recommended!

This was a great story. It is a sci-fi romance, but most of the story is set on a planet where wars are fought with swords. Toward the end, we do get to see some futuristic science fiction, but then there are some silly interactions at the end.
Lilith is a woman from a scientific world, used to working as someone who goes from dimension to dimension via a machine to study cultures in the dimensions. She wakes up in a cell in a castle with several other women in an environment that seems almost medieval. Then she is chosen by a gorgeous warrior who wants immediate sex. Which she refuses.
She figures out she was kidnapped and then traded to this dimension because they lack woman. She figures out how to deal with the gorgeous warrior, and she doesn't refuse the love making for very long.
The last thing she needs to figure out is whether they love each other and whether she will stay with him in his war-torn dimension.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. So often a writer will write a story to please the readers and not be true to her characters. we all love a strong female lead, and Lilith no doubt is one, but by nature she is a facts and information girl. She stayed true to that character trait through out the book. It was one of the things that the Hero liked about her and drew them closer to one another. I found this world that was created interesting. I am interested in this enemy and their Queen. I am interested in our fighter Jayne. I can't wait to see how Paige fairs. It is just a wonderful mixture of sci-fi, erotica, and fantasy. The alpha males are very alpha and the scenes flow well. I would recommend this book to anyone and am personally looking forward to getting the next book in the series!

Michelle as caught my attention once again and I can't wait to read the rest of this series. Similar in concept it seems so far to the Dragon Lords series but definitely a new world to explore and enjoy. Her writing is different then any other author I haven't encountered and I read a lot, a must read but be prepared not to want to put it down.

Too much time spent on Lilith refusing to accept her situation, but otherwise I quite liked it. I wish I had seen some of Sorin's playful side before the last page, but it was appropriate. Not really interested in the other Divinity stories if they're all located in this dimension.

Lilith Grian finds herself waking up in a dungeon with a handful of other human women on a primitive planet, Staria. She learns from one, that they are there to be selected by shifter warriors in a mating ceremony. She had been on a mission as a historical and cultural analyst for the Divinity Corporation, a job she loved as she got to travel the universe and research other cultures. It hadn’t ended quite as she would like and she was at home awaiting the result of an investigation, when she found herself in the dungeon suddenly. It seems whoever was behind the incident has tried to cover their tracks by sending her far away without any way of getting home easily. The Starians are medieval warriors who have a severe lack of females and had made an arrangement with the Divinity Corporation for brides, in trade for their blue water that never goes cold. The servant who brings them bread, tells them to please their man and give them a release, to make them have to spend as little time as possible in their presence. A couple of the women can’t cope with that news and being where they are, so are taken away. That leaves Paige, who knows exactly what is about to happen and is already taken, Jayne who wants to escape at the earliest moment, and Karre. The shifters thought all the women for their mating ceremony were willing participants, who wanted to be there, and any not up to the task, were drugged and sent back with no memories of where they had been. Lord Sorin of Firewall hated wasting his time at these breeding ceremonies, having sworn he would never take another woman as a bride, after his first one betrayed him whilst he was away fighting! The whole planet is seemingly made for war, with the warriors constantly battling against a sorceress and her army of monstrous creatures and the Caniba tribes.

When she is dragged into the hall for the ceremony, the highest lords and warriors are first to choose, and Sorin was the third man in the line of warriors to walk past the three women remaining. She can’t take her eyes off his intense face, unable to move or breathe. When he saw, all he could say was ‘Mine’, and couldn’t take his eyes off her, completely lost! He has announced his claim and can’t take it back, even his brother Ronen, who was behind him was shocked. Sorin tells her to follow him and she tries to refuse, but that doesn’t really work too well. Ronen also chooses one of the women, against his advice and even his own actions! All Sorin wants to do is to ride to the battlefields, but the king hasn’t called for them, so he must stay at Battlewar Castle, having lost his own castle at Firewall. When Jayne manages to escape from Ronen, Sorin joins him on a search party, wanting to be away from Lilith who seems to fear him and believes he would take her by force, which he would never do! The servant Sera and the other women don’t like her and whilst Sorin is away, she gets loads of hostility and unkind words, all because she hadn’t slept with their beloved heroic warrior. Some even call her a witch and warn their children away from her, saying she would curse their sword hand! On his return, the two of them finally manage to connect in bed, with her admitting her fear of his size and her lack of experience. Word soon spreads about their union, embarrassing her, but changing the way the other women treated her in an instant! When he finally tells her he is leaving the next morning, he also tests her loyalty, to see if she will run and try to escape. She fails his test and he has no other choice but to take her to battle, as most women accompany their men unless they are pregnant. She is left with Karre and other women at a fortress, as the warriors prepare to move further south to join the battle against Sorceress Magda.

He is prepared to maybe not return from the upcoming battle, but his only fear is that Lilith won’t be there when he comes back, that she will leave him and never come back. They are surprised and their army split apart by the enemy, leaving him having to fight frantically, also knowing that Lilith won’t appreciate anyone returning and singing his praises or describing his honourable deeds. He can’t get her out of his head and he loses track of the battle, soon finding himself almost surrounded and closer to the sorceress than he has ever been. He hears shouts of ‘to a good death’, as he has once chance to strike at the sorceress and he takes it. He is soon overwhelmed and badly injured, almost dead under the enemy forces. Lilith has been left at the fortress for two weeks by now wondering how he is. She wants to see Sorin and will do everything she can to make sure he recovers. But that action will leave Sorin misunderstanding her actions in his weakness and needing to find her. Her mission director is quite taken with Sorin’s build and is a bit of a perve, seeking out images from Lilith’s mind of her in bed with him! Good bit of humour at the end, with understanding and acceptance coming to both of them, as they settle into their own HEA ending and a future rebuilt together.

I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.

Lilith Enraptured is an awesome read. With a fully developed world and parallel dimensions.

Lilith is an analyst for Divinity and regularly travels between dimensions and accrues knowledge and data. On her last mission she was accused of a crime she did not commit. She returns to her apartment and awakes... in a cage on a medieval world!!!!

To the warriors of Starian, loyalty and honour are everything. They are in an ongoing war with the Caniba. They are Alphas to the core and they only know duty. There are few females in the realm and they are forced to begin trading with Divinity.

Sold against her will with other females that Divinity had problems with, she is claimed by Lord Sorin and hurled into a marriage by claiming. She is struggling to fight her attraction to the man and her repulsion of all things barbarian and her plight at being here against her will.

Sorin is the perfect Alpha male. He is strong, a fearless leader in battle, but war is all he knows. His first wife was a ightmare and this has put him off claiming another. With Lilith, he claimed her as a total compulsion. There develops an interesting tug of love internally for Lilith, she loves the man but does not want to be forced into a marriage she had no choice in.

Lilith is a bit whiny at times but who wouldn't be when thrust into another world and married off against your will!!! Sorin is great as the physically strong but emotionally scarred warrior.

The love scenes are steamy and there is a wonderful mixing of genres that gives the reader very unique worlds to explore.

This book is set in an interesting paranormal power-level universe, and the core idea of the plot definitely had potential. Unfortunately, that potential never really gets the space it needs to unfold properly.
I don’t have an issue with spicy romance in general, but here the spice felt gratuitous rather than purposeful. Many of the intimate scenes were written in very similar ways and appeared again and again without adding anything new—neither to the characters nor to the story. Instead of building tension or deepening emotional stakes, they repeatedly stalled the plot.
The biggest issue for me was the female main character. She felt passive to the point of being frustrating. Rather than making decisions or actively shaping her own path, she mostly just lets things happen to her. She rarely steps up, reacts meaningfully, or drives the story forward, which made it hard to connect with her or root for her.
Pacing is another weak point. The story often follows a pattern of tiny plot movement → smut scene → repeat, which makes the book feel bloated and redundant. Had this been tightened into a short story or novella, the plot might have worked much better with a more balanced rhythm.
Overall, this felt like a case where smut overtook storytelling. There’s a solid idea underneath, but it gets buried under repetition, weak character agency, and an uneven pace. An okay read if you’re here purely for spice—but disappointing if you were hoping for a strong paranormal romance with depth.

Lilith wakes up in a barred prison and discovers Inter dimensional travel has brought her to a primitive plane. She and 3 other women are displayed before a small group of warriors who have been chosen pick a bride.

Sorin is a warrior and determined to never claim another wife, but the moment he sees Lilith he hears himself shout ‘Mine’! Now he has to claim his uncooperative wife.

A good portion of the storyline deals with Lilith’s disbelief of her circumstances and wanting to leave this plane. After being kidnapped in her sleep and arriving with no explanation about the local customs she overhear servants talking about her and several frightening possibilities in her future. Lilith reacts to her surroundings based on numerous false statements by servants and misunderstandings between her and Sorin.

This is an interesting and imaginative story that quickly captured my attention. My only real complaint is the chaotic and frustrating path Lilith and Sorin’s relationship takes because of miscommunication.

From reading several books by this author, this is her go to plot device and it just adds unnecessary angst and delays the couple from developing a connection. I’d personally prefer the characters argue or have disagreements due to their differences in personality, expectations, culture or something else a bit more organic and interesting.

LILITH ENRAPTURED is the first installment in the Divinity Warriors  series by Michelle Pillow. This is a great start to the Divinity Warriors series!
The characters and the world descriptions seem to come alive while you read.  Ms. Pillow's stories make me want to read so much more about this world and all of the other worlds or parallel universes that the Divinity Corporation reaches.

Lilith, as an experienced cultural analyst she was used to jumping to new dimensional planes to observe and learning about other cultures. But she's totally unprepared when she wakes up in a medieval and barbaric world without a warning, no support, and no way home. This is not how her assignments work!  Soon she finds herself in a line-up in front of men and one them is pointing at her and saying mine. With no technology or electricity to aid her she has to survive on her instincts.

Sorin is an honorable warrior and attends the marriage selection with mo intention to accept a bride. But somehow he's saying   "mine" and his arm points to the blond woman. It's going to take every bit of patience he can find to deal with this contrary woman.

Get ready for hot physical attraction and a total clash of cultures.

The three other ladies that arrived with Lillith will get their stories in the next installments in the series.

This book absolutely captivated me from beginning to end. It presents a heartwarming story about Sorin from Firewall, a genuinely nice and attractive man who claims Lilith as his second wife, despite a history of troubled marriages. As he sheds his fears, he discovers joy and love with Lilith, ultimately becoming a better man.

Sorin’s first wife, Bianka, was completely self-centered and toxic, but Lilith recognizes his true worth, leading to a deep and fulfilling relationship. The ending is a gripping surprise, giving Lilith not only redemption but also the answers she seeks about her unexpected arrival in Sorin's world.

What truly stands out is Lilith’s realistic perspective on her new life. While she yearns for the conveniences of her advanced previous world, she realizes that true happiness lies with Sorin. They both show remarkable courage in sacrificing everything for their love.

The character development is exceptional, significantly enhancing the overall experience. In summary, this book is extraordinary, packed with humor, redemption, action, and romance. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read it yet; it is absolutely worth your time.

This will grab your attention right from the start. Several women wake up kidnapped and in another dimension, not sure how they got there or how to get back. Imagine going from far in the future back to medieval times. That would be quite an adjustment, even if you had gone willingly.

Lilith works for Divinity Cooperation and ends up in Starvia, a medieval land. She is claimed by Lord Sorin in the breeding ceremony. Divinity made an agreement with the Starvians to supply women in exchange for their blue water always stays hot and contains many minerals. The agreement was that the women had to be willing. Guess they forgot about that part!

This story has great depth and the emotions Lilith goes through as she realizes that she isn’t going to get home and is stuck with Sorin are heart wrenching. But there is also humor and laughter at what Lilith and Sorin go through to adjust to each other. Seems they are used to their women being a lot more complacent. A great start to the new series!.

This book is a lot of fun to read and I enjoyed it immensely. Michelle M Pillow is terrific at combining genres like science fiction, big hot barbarians, fated mates and more along these lines. She loves to flip the expectations that you might have in those genres and produces very fun readable stories. This book follows Lilith, a researcher with the Divinity Corporation who ends up kidnapped and then taken as a wife by Sorin. This planet where castles and constant fighting are all Sorin knows is very different from Lilith’s modern life. Neither of them understand each other or what the conventions of everyday life they are use to. This leads to a lot of confusion and unhappiness. Still this is a romance so you know things get better. Ms. Pillow does a marvelous job with this story that begins a new series. From the hints in this book the romances in the rest of the series look to be just as interesting, difficult and fun to read.

I was not even a little sure about what I was diving into with this series, but I LOVE Michelle Pillow's writing and this was no exception. I did find myself frustrated with Lilith fairly often through the first 3/4 of the book because I wanted to shake her for not just SAYING things out loud... also for someone whose job it is to observe and analyze new civilizations, which would conceivably call for some interaction and diplomacy, she seemed to lack any skills in conveying her needs, thoughts, concerns, interests, etc, and that is why I wanted to shake her. So much of the "drama" in the relationship between Lilith and Sorin could have been avoid with simple conversation, but alas, that would have made this quite a short story. As it is, it's actually really great, and I'm glad I stuck with it despite a bit of eyerolling. It's an interesting world that Michelle has created, and I'm definitely interested in seeing what happens in the next installment.

I feel like a lot of the problems in this story could have been avoided if there was just some more communication.
Plus she said she was an employee of Divinity and the fact the Sorin and his people were trading with Divinity didn’t come up until later. I mean COME ON! Ask more questions.
Plus the fact there was more than one guy who came originally so the one guy that was handled off screen at the end felt like a cheap excuse because the author was so intent on building the very shaky relationship between Sorin and Lilith (that was very unstable start to finish to a point if felt more like Stockholm syndrome not romantic love.)

A lot of potential wasted. I’ve read books with similar ideas as this and they handled it WAY better with psychological, emotional and physical aspects of what the characters would hypothetically be experiencing explored more thoroughly and in a more depth.

“In one second he knew. Lilith was for him.”

Totally unexpected. That’s what this book was. I’ve read Michelle’s Alien shifter romances but this is something totally unique. In a universe where people can travel to different dimensions, Lilith finds herself in a land where men fight wars and are much too busy to care about love.

I liked Lilith. She acted pretty much exactly like a normal, civilized woman would act when suddenly thrust into the situation she finds herself in. Sorin was a pleasant surprise. The last thing he expected was to claim a wife but, despite even his own determination, he knows she’s what he needs.

This world is wonderful and so unique. I’m excited to begin it and look forward to the other books in the series. Once again Michelle has surprised me and I’m blown away by her unbelievable imagination.

I don't have a lot of time. I think if I was Lilith I would have found something heavy to knock some sense into the man or at least get him to listen to me for a little while to get my point across. I'm happy things worked out for them but things would have worked out a lot smoother if he would have just stopped & listened to her for a few minutes instead of just of just trying to bulldoze over her & expect her to fall into his customs like all the other females from his area. I liked the story but I think I might have shoved one of his daggers some where uncomfortable the way he kept expecting her to know how he felt about her & not telling her. Then get mad about her thinking about leaving when all she thought he saw her was as a plaything. Yep, he'd be walking kind of funny until he could get the castle medical person help him get it out. Even if he he was kind of a jerk at the start, he got the idea. I really did like it.
