Disorder in the Court

Rate this book

Here is storytelling at its finest by two well-known North Carolina boys who are no longer with us Bob Terrell, author, columnist, humorist, and reporter who usually wrote his stories down and Marcellus Buchanan, who more often told his verbally.

These are tales about people at their best and worst both simple folk and people in high places. Mostly, the stories concern those men and women who were in the public s eye because they worked in our legal, judicial, or political systems. Disorder in the Court! contains dozens of hilarious stories from courthouses, lawyers offices, and police stations all across the great state of North Carolina.

Had some entertaining stories but some long ones and for some people who do not know about all titles, divisions of the US court system these were a bit boring after sometime. For me Disorder in the Court: Great Fractured Moments in Courtroom History by Charles M. Sevilla was more entertaining probably because it told specific situations like dialogue and not a narrative about someone else. But it had its moments.

I had such high hopes for this book, but in the end it just wasn't that funny. Maybe someone more versed in law will appreciate the humor more than I will. Frankly some of the stories though are a little troubling and suggest what seems like illegal activity on the part of judges and lawyers.

347.1 Legal humor - "Great fractured moments in courtroom history." Not great but a humorous quick read of courtroom quotes.
