I give the concept of cycle syncing 5 stars, but the execution of explaining it in this book 2 stars. I read this as a follow up to Vitti’s Woman Code, hoping that it would have more specific, practical steps about introducing foods and exercises according to each phase of the menstrual cycle. But, this book falls into the same pitfalls as Woman Code: too much of Vitti telling you that her steps will make your life perfect but not enough of her actually telling the reader how to implement her st

I was really excited to read this book after listening to the author on a podcast. She mentioned it was lengthy because of all the information. My opinion is that is was lengthy because it was full of stories of how it could change your life. I was looking for hard evidence and details on the protocol. I think it could be summed up in 6 page document. The recipes are good and there was definitely some interesting info on how women’s bodies are different, but too much fluff for me.

I read WomanCode first — and am a big fan — so that may have colored my experience with In The FLO but it felt like a poorly organized regurgitation of WomanCode with strong addition of advertisement for her program and app.
It felt like the book spent a lot of time telling you what it was going to tell you and little time actually going into the method.

great book but the whole "patriarchy" thing wasn't mine. I am not a victim and don't like to be portrayed like that.

This book is a great introduction to women's health awareness and presents a lifestyle designing method that is based on the predictability of female hormonal patterns. While there is a certain amount of practical advice inside, it is largely similar to the information in the author's other book, WomanCode, and I believe it is not the main takeaway from this one. Rather, the underlined framework's strong points are in it being intuitive, flexible and gradual.

To be clear, I didn't finish this. I got it on audio, and found the first chapter immediately compelling, but then the information going forward was a little scarce with a ton of self-promoting sentences explaining how this program will change my life! without much explanation (at least in the first half of the book) about HOW to go about doing that. There seems to be a ton of supplemental info on her website, but again, when I'm hoping to listen to something helpful while driving, this doesn't

I read this bc I am interested in hormonal biohacking and wanted to access the content on Alissa Vitti’s website but it’s v expensive. Would say if you do a bit of research aside what’s in the book, then the book plus the app (£1.99) are super helpful. BASICALLY the science is v interesting, the book is a good intro to biohacking esp if you’re already committed to the idea and ready for some practical guidance. It’s a shame all the extra materials mentioned in the book are sooo expensive tho!!

3.5. Good info. I really like the practical information on food, exercise, and time management. Most important is the mindset shift to not thinking that every day is supposed to be exactly the same (tbh this is a good thing to learn whether you menstruate or not, which points to one of the potential issues with the way Vitti puts hormone fluctuations on a pedestal). There is a lot of fluff that I skimmed through in the latter half.

I wish I would have had this book 20 years ago! The Cycle Sync Method makes so much sense for women. I am so glad that I found this while my daughters are still young enough that I can help guide them through their first menses and model this method. We've always tried to make sex and biological functions normal conversation rather than something they have to be embarrassed about, so this book just adds even more normalization to those topics. I'm so excited to get started syncing!

5 stars to the concept of cycle syncing, though this book gets 2 stars. I appreciated her breakdown of the different phases of the cycle and how that corresponds with different energetic needs, moods, creative practices. Throughout this book, the concepts she presented were helpful, though I felt I had to keep a bit of an eye out for her selling her program to me.

Initially wanted to give this book 2 stars, but added an extra because while I don't think I'm the target audience for this book it could be helpful for some.
I listened to Alisa talking about this book on the Organic Olivia podcast and was super intrigued. I then quickly downloaded her app and it quickly became my favorite "period tracking" app yet and ordered the book.

This is groundbreaking information that I think many women will find immensely useful. Seeing as I'm due to reach menopause any month now, I'm mostly thinking of how it might help younger relatives.
The book is a difficult read, though, because it's filled with an awful lot of fluff, as Alisa rambles on about how great this knowledge is going to be and how she'll tell us about it elsewhere in the book, and needless repetition of ideas. I resented the vague promises and the repetition, and I kept ...more

This book has some useful advice about how to understand and take advantage of the different phases of your cycle through nutrition, exercise and schedule planning. The best point the author makes is that no one can do everything all the time, and that by trying to do so, we're constantly running down our energy levels. It gave me a new perspective to think about what I would need to do to build energy throughout my cycle instead of draining it. I think I already got most of the same information

Awesome book! It's opening my eyes to new ways of thinking about my cycle. In fact, I am discovering my female superpowers!
There's a chart about creativity that blew my mind on pages 166-167. I plan to post it on my wall so I see it every day. The thing that’s so powerful about the book is that it removes all the confusion. You focus on one area of your life you want to improve and implement a handful of the suggestions. Some decent info, you can read the Woman Code and probably get the info you need. These books are not well-written, it's mostly a sales pitch to get you to subscribe to their online services. If you can look past that and use the book as a, very, rough guide, then it's worth browsing.

This book gave me a lot of actual advice on balancing my hormones and leading a healthier life with my monthly cycle in mind, I highlighted a LOT throughout the book. It also makes you love and appreciate your unique feminine body. I didn't read her first book WomanCode, so the topic was new for me, maybe that's why I keep reading the 2-star reviews and I don't get them... The book is amazing! Yes, the author mentions a few times that you can visit her website for more info, but I don't see that

“women have a second biological clock, and it is equally as valuable as the 24-hour clock. The 28-day clock can be measured; it is predictable; and it demands the same respect, attention, and priority as the 24-hour clock.”

“IN THE FLO MANIFESTO I acknowledge my cycle has four distinct hormonal patterns. Each of these phases requires different nourishment and self-care. Supporting each phase is the key to optimizing my health. Syncing with each phase allows me to tap into creativity to optimize work, motherhood, and relationships on my own terms. Living according to my biological rhythmic timing restores my sovereignty and makes me more free.”
