Dragonkeepers #4

Claimed by Fire

A dragon shifter sworn to vengeance. A headstrong woman who has sworn off shifters for good. Giving in to their white-hot passion could send everything they hold dear up in smoke. When dragon shifter Loch Brandhart comes to a remote, Yukon gold-mining town, his mission is clear. Take out the last of the line of tiger shifters blood-sworn to wipe out his kind. It should have been simple, until he meets the tough as nails and drop-dead gorgeous Ash Yeager. Loch knows right away he’s met his match and his fated mate. The trouble is, Ash’s father is the tiger Loch was sent here to kill.

One of the only humans in a town full of shifters, Ash Yeager has always worked ten times harder to get half as far. She means to prove to her tiger shifter father that she’s more than ready to run her own gold mining crew. She takes a chance and hires drifter Loch against her father’s wishes. There’s just something about him that draws her in even though she knows he’s dangerous.

Falling for Loch could put everything Ash has worked for at risk. Claiming his mate might mean Loch must turn his back on his family for good.

As a civil lawyer, I spent many, many years writing complex legal briefs for unappreciative bosses. To keep from stabbing myself (or them) in the eye with a fork during all of that, I also started writing down the stories in my head. All on my own time, of course ;) Turns out, I'm a sucker for hot, alpha male shifters and kickass heroines.

Now, I've thrown away my shingle (er - more like burned it in a fire pit) so I can devote my time to bringing you sizzling, erotic, paranormal romance stories. If you like hunky, bad boy shifters, women who know what they want in and out of the bedroom, panty-melting sex scenes, and edge of your seat suspense, I've got you covered! We'll put the rahr in erotic romance (okay, okay, that sounded better in my head).

To soar with dragon's!

Review of Dragon keepers series by Kimber White

I finally took the time yesterday to finish the Dragon keepers series written by Kimber White. I had finished books 1-3 months ago and have had books 4 and 5 in my Kindle Library for some time. Yesterday was a rainy  day in Missouri and rather then do housework or nap, I settled down with a cup of tea, my fuzzy blanket in my recliner in front of my big picture window. With the dogs napping at my feet, the gentle rain falling outside and the birds performing for the Birdfeeder Olympics on my outdoor deck I finally clicked on Book 4, Claimed By Fire.  Before I knew it, several hours had passed , my husband was calling me to dinner and I had completed book 4 and was more than halfway through the final book, Freed By Fire. I was so engrossed in the world of dragon shifters, magic and finding true love, I had no idea where time had gone. The house could have been on fire, zombies could have invaded my lower 40 acres , the world could have ended, and I would have never known, as I was far away on the West Coast in another dimension!  This is exactly why I love reading anything Kimber White writes! She has the ability to transport you to another place and time, with the magic of her written words.  Since this is why I read, a brief escape from everyday life, Kimber White has earned a special place on my bookshelf. The Dragon keepers series by Kimber White is a wonderful way to spend a lazy rainy afternoon.

The series consists of five books that follow the five billionaire dragon shifters, The Brandhart brothers, whose very successful enterprise is based in the Gold Coast of Chicago. Of course, the brothers are sexy alpha billionaires as we all know that dragons love their treasure!   The brothers are a dying breed, their mother the Dragon Queen, Avelina, having survived the shifter and mage war, brought the brothers to life over 300 years ago.  As far as the Brandharts and the world are concern, dragons are extinct. However, Avelina, continues to search for other dragon survivors who may be living in hiding. She sends her sons on quests throughout the world, following clues that might lead to finding others like themselves. The brothers are all beginning to show signs of “mating sickness” and are in danger of losing control of their dragons. Thus, finding their “fated mates” is imperative but to the brothers it may be as unlikely as the chances of finding anymore dragon shifters.

But there is more to this series then alpha males trying to find their “little woman”. Kimber’s heroines are not your submissive victim type females. Everyone of her female characters prove to be some  bad-ass women who know how to kick -ass and take names. Its torture to a protective alpha male, but it adds a little spice to the relationship. And boy is the sex spicy and just a little bit on the dangerous side given a dragons propensity to bursting into flame when worked up!

Like many paranormal romances, there is plenty of steamy love scenes. What I especially enjoy about Kimber’s writings is that the sex does not dominate the story. There is plenty of action, mystery, magic and intrigue to go along with the passionate love story that makes this a romance. There are twists and turns in the plot that you never see coming. And of course, there is always a happily ever after waiting for you at the end.

Each of the five books are listed as a “stand-alone” novel. I would recommend reading the books in order they were written in order to get the full gist of the story. Also, it would be a shame to miss out on how masterfully Kimber weaves the storyline together and how her characters develop and grow as the series progresses. I am convinced you will come to love all the individuals in the tales and hate to leave the Brandharts behind.

I loved all five books and gave each 5-star rating. Unlike other series I have read, Lord of the Rings in particular, where one or two of the books are very well written and another just leaves you flat, in the Dragon Keepers collection, all five books are excellent. I found myself unable to put the books down. I lost a lot of sleep and my house looks like a tornado struck it, but it was well worth it. The books held my attention from page 1 till the end. And at the end I found myself not wanting to say goodbye to my new book friends. I hope this is not the last time I see or hear from the Brandhart dragons. If we are lucky, Kimber White has a sequel or two in mind.

So, if you are looking for your next good read, fall in love with Kimber White’s dragons. It is well worth the fall and like me, you may find yourself soaring away with dragons, magic and most of all love.

Loch is fighting his dragon. If he doesn't find his mate soon he will lose complete control. Add to that his mother's assignment to give his father justice from the family who murdered him.

Lock agrees to go and take care of it. Who would think the first thing he finds is his mate. The second is that her family is the second part of his mission. Now what?

Ash has to be better, faster, stronger than her brother. He's a shifter and she is not. They mine for gold. Her brother runs one of the sites she another and her father the last one. Finally, she's given a chance to prove herself. The crew knows she's a woman and test her, her father and brother don't believe she can do it. But she will! Now is not the time for a man to interfere. She never gets involved with her crew. And she's hired Loch. She doesn't know why she is so drawn to him. He does. Now what?

His mother's quest. His mate. If he chooses one will the other be lost to him?

I always enjoy the author's books. Shifters with a real plot and great characters not to mention plenty of steam. I'd say this is one of my favorites, and I feel that way--but then I always do when I read a new Kimberly White book.

Now just to wait for the final. It sounds like a good one.

Really enjoy this series. And how fun that this one is set in a mining camp. Nice change of pace. It amazes me how attached you become to each set of characters, and you are rooting for them to hurry up and discover each other already! Loch and Ash are yummy together...as fated mates should be, and good strong sibling rivalry. And the dragons are 100% awesomeness. Desperately want one to keep for my very own! My heart bled for Avalina. How do you get past such a horrific past? She makes a perfect matriarch for her amazing family. There are so many similarities in each storyline, but the circumstances and characters are completely different. Set in a mining camp in the Yukon, with many different shifters living and working together. It would be fun to learn more about how they learned to tolerate each other and thrive. And perhaps how their differences are an asset to each other.
One of my favorite features in this book is how Kimber ties in storylines from previous series. Almost like seeing old friends again. But now I’m totally fretting about Kian!! Wish I could be the one to save him!

Revenge....will it turn to Ash?

Claimed by Fire is book four in this amazing Dragonkeepers series and focuses on Loch and Ash❣️ Aveline has sent Loch on a mission to avenge his father, centuries after he was murdered. However, as Loch starts his surveillance he finds more than he bargained for....one his mate and a vendetta that could potentially tear them both away from their families and even each other, when the truth finally comes out. The epilogue left me with goosebumps.....😢

Kimber is such a great storyteller and I absolutely love this series and each story, as they are unique and so different to each other which makes it that much more enjoyable and not predictable 😍 A big thank you to Kimber for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review❣️

This is an intriguing dragon shifter romance with a fantastic plot filled with unexpected events. The unique characters are well developed and impressive with individual personalities.
There is: various kinds of shifters, drama, intrigue, suspense, twists & turns, adventure, action, mystery, magic, secrets, danger, threats, vendettas, family issues, attractions, confrontations, realization, mates, hatred, jealousy, conflict, lies, deceit, anguish, rage, fear, compromise, happiness, love, some steam & a satisfying ending with a tantalizing glimpse of another book.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and really would recommend it.

Wow, what an exciting read. Loch’s story is the beginning and ending to his mother’s pain and grief. Sent to find the descendants of the man who murdered his father, he didn’t count on meeting Ash. They both realise what they are to each other but will the family history get in the way of them being together?
Great read, story, plot and characters. Each book includes more characters as the Brandhart family grows. Although this book seemed to have the most angst it was thrilling. Lots of cute moments, a very tasteful mating, and a sweet ending.
Downloading the final instalment about Kian, Unfortunately I think Kian’s story will be the hardest to read.

Loch and Ash

I believe the author gets better with every story in this series. I have read this book in one sitting. The story a so smoothly written that I felt compelled to know what was going to happen next. Yes, you know the book will have a HEA but it is the getting there that makes it worthwhile.

You will learn more about what happen to Magnus and the trials that Avelina suffered to finally hatch her clutch. Visit from some old wolf friends will round out the story.

I eagerly await Kian story now.

Another scorching romance by Kimber White. The dragons are again searching for answers. It is Loch’s turn to go looking for a way to avenge his father’s murder. What he finds instead will have you warmed up this winter for sure! Filled with plenty of heat don’t miss this next fiery story with the dragons.

I received this book in exchange for my honest review.

I loved that this brought in different kind of shifters in which the reader wasn't aware of previously and how there is communities of shifters who work together. With also having the family which killed Loch's father it was interesting to see how he handled that as well as his family.

Without a doubt this is my favourite of the series so far.

One more book in this series and that one may be the best of all. This book has been as good as the previous ones and the ending is somewhat of a surprise. I didn't see it coming for sure but it really makes you want to find fish the last book too.

This book in the series was just as intriguing as the first three. There’s closure between both the jaguars and Avelina. What I felt bad for the most was Kian and he’s almost lost. It’s what’s pulling me to read the final book in the series.

-Fourth book in series
-First person
-Dual points of view

This book had some serious heat! As always, Kimber White did an incredible job of taking her readers on an amazing journey. She seamlessly weaves perfect imagery into the entire book. The main characters have an instant chemistry that pulls them to each other. A bit of angst, deceit and mystery make this a great, page-turning read. I personally love how the author makes past, beloved characters an integral part of her current stories.
