Tyler Ruston is off-limits in every way. He's my possessive new friend's twin brother, but even worse, he's the only one who knows the secret that would destroy me. Starting over at a new school could have been exciting, but not here. This school is all about money and prestige, and I have neither of those. My parents are the hired help, and I'm a scholarship kid--the charity case. What could these rich kids and I ever have in common? But what if we did have something in common? What if I was just as rich as the rest of them? Before I can overthink it, I tell everyone that's exactly the case. And that's when my life starts to get exciting. Friends, parties, sitting with the popular crowd at lunch. One little lie is giving me a dream life that I've only seen in movies. But I have a huge problem. The hottest guy in school, Tyler Ruston, knows my secret. I don't know why he hasn't told anyone yet, but if he does, the fake life I've built for myself will come crashing down around me like a house of cards. Will Tyler rat me out? Or does he have secrets of his own?
Sooo, okay, this book was good. I would've finished this book yesterday, but I had other important things to do. I am glad I finally finished because after a while I get tired lol. But the book was good; I didn't know if I'll finish it until I started!
I wouldn't say I liked the fact that Rinidi had to pretend to be someone else for her to make friends. I think if she would've been herself from the beginning, she would've still had friends. She probably would've gotten Tyler or maybe even had a crush on him.... though; he probably wouldn't have talked to her.
But I do understand that she had to do what she had to do. With trying to fit in because she felt like she would've been BULLIED for being a charity case (poor girl) if she didn't lie about how she was rich and the granddaughter of Andrea's mom....
I was also glad; that Megan got the stick from up her behind because, for one, she was jealous of Rinidi and was stupid for sitting and starving herself to please Lizzie even Rinidi kind of did that too by not eating what she wanted.
No way could I do that..... but at least they all came around to be here still (Rindi) friend even after the lies she told had come out in the open. She also changes Cooper too; from being a womanizer and Megan finally got the guy and she sort of change Megan for the better, even Lizzie...
She has moved school so many times that she has no real friends and feels invisible. Now at a very posh school she tells a lie about being rich. Now she is the centre of attention. When her lie comes out she may feel even worse than invisible. Will any of the friends keep being friends? How will she survive the rest of the year? See if she keeps any of the new friends

A Great Interpretation Of a Story Previously Told.
Surprisingly, I liked it!
I knew what I was getting into with this book since I read the blurb, so I knew what was coming but $%@& - the minute Mirinda told the lie, my heart sank and I had a horrible attack of cringe-itis.
Rindi is very naive BUT once the cringe-inducing lie was told, I saw glimpses of her personality come through in the way that she responded to people and situations; and I thought that even though she was standing on a lie, that she was standing as the core of herself within that lie.
Sherri Renee is absolutely right when she says that this book has shades of Mean Girls, because the parallels are absolutely there. That concerned me hugely because I am part of a seemingly tiny portion of the population that did not enjoy Mean Girls at all. But I loved the cover which is definitely reminiscent of Gossip Girl.
The difference here, in this story, was how those similarities are handled and the responses to it in the book. I was very impressed with that. I understand a desire to be more, wanting to have more and the need to play on a level playing field. And if you open the recesses of your minds and explore your memories, if you’re truly honest, this book will probably bring back an element of those cringey memories for everyone, albeit on a possibly smaller scale (and if it’s a bigger scale, I’d love to know it!).
So yes, I did not like Mean Girls one bit, but thanks to the way that Sherri Renee wrote this story, I liked this much better!
I went into this book fully expecting it to be like the girls in Mean Girls, expected the rich girls to be mean and snobby and cruel and while they did have that front and often did act that way, they turned out to be great friends. Rindi not only changed herself through the book, but she seemed to change others around her. She managed to bring out the soft or good side in each person she encountered, I can only imagine what she would do after an internship with Andrea. I thought I was going to review this book comparing it to Mean Girls, but instead I find myself comparing it to a more mature version of the Clique series, with a very strong Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants vibe. It was well written and I had a hard time putting it down.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book is full of Mean Girl and Heathers (original) vibes. To the point where some of the scenes are almost exact. o which I say, it's just another retelling. All fine and good.
I enjoyed the book for the most part, but the biggest problem came after the lie came to a head. Pretty much everyone's personalities except for Tyler flipped. It was like the last 15% was written by someone else or the author forgot about the core of the characters. The way the girls reacted was so out of place I just couldn't get into the ending. It's nice to want to hope for the best and spread love, but people don't change overnight.
So with that, I just couldn't fully get behind the book.
I'm not usually a fan of mean girl type stories, but I think that's more to do with my personality (I'm likely to stand up to them, not suck up!). This book wasn't what I was expecting - Rindi has good motivation and the Queen B has depth, so I was far from frustrated when reading. The story's a little more like a love story than about money, although it revolves around it. I liked it and was worth getting into - an easy read.
Very Mean Girlish and very enjoyable. Fast, easy read. Lots of stereotypes but I also feel all the characters were well rounded and each of them showed some amount of growth. Even the Queen Bee was a likable character once you really go to know her. This would make an excellent summer beach read. I would say the content is acceptable for 13+ due to some glossed over sexual situations. Highly recommend if you like fast paced, fun, and entertaining novels.
This book is carried by the wonderful main character named Rindi. She is relatable and likable and her adventures into the world of wealth via her parent's employer make for a great story. I really enjoyed reading this story. I loved how everything in the story progresses from her introduction to the other students at the school to the end. Wonderful writing and great characters.
This was a great light read! A nicer, sweeter version of Gossip Girl. It was addicting I couldn’t put it down!!! The ending didn’t give me as much closure as I would have liked but it was enough! **recommended**
This book was a cute young adult read! I enjoyed seeing the characters develop throughout the book. The dynamics of high school friendships and relationships were depicted very well and it kept you reading to see how everything would play out!
This was a nice easy read, it's like Gossip Girl but toned down. It's full of girl drama and crushes. I really enjoyed it. It was well written but a little predictable. The characters were interesting and fun. A very entertaining book!
Another winner from this author! I loved this story. A modern-day Cinderella with a few twists. Predictable in some ways but fun and original too. I will definitely look for more of this author’s books. Highly recommended.
Mean girls, rich poor hierarchy..everything that affects young people these days are covered. This is sumthing that has to be addressed with care and the author has done a good job!enjoyed reading it and itz definitely worth a read
I really enjoyed this one...it put me in the mind of a modern day, with a spin on cinderella. I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review for a copy of the book.
