Jack Stone is an ordinary guy, living an ordinary life, with a semi-ordinary family. He has no mother but lives with his uncle and genius father, who strangely has become very ill when Jack’s life changed abruptly. When Jack’s father becomes ill after coming home from his lab, Jack begins to worry, but now, after it has been quite a few days, Jack is relieved when his father tells him he wants to show him something. What he sees changes his life forever; his father has created a Rift Tunnel Machine. Having no idea the jumble of science terms his father shares with him, Jack decides to hit the library and figure out what his dad has made. In the process, he runs into a strange orange-cloaked figure running through the library. After a failed attempt to catch the figure, he calls up his buddy from school, Wayne, and tells him the whole story. On their way home from chatting about the Rift Tunnel Machine, they catch sight of the orange-cloaked figure and chase after him, thus dragging their future into a brand new adventure.

In my opinion, Infinity: The Secret of the Diamonds is a fascinating book. I truly enjoyed the characters, the plot twist, and the extra-terrestrial life forms befriending Jack and his Earth friends. My favorite part of the book is probably in the beginning when Jack first encounters the orange-cloaked figure and chases after him. I had no idea how the author, Tejas Mathai, was going to combine the first chapter of the book with the words on the back cover. I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it for readers between ages 10-12. This book is not overly complicated, and it's a great start to a long and hopefully amazing career for the author.

If The Hobbit took his adventure in the realm of Star Wars, it would certainly describe Infinity: The Secret of the Diamonds by Tejas Mathai! He has created a protagonist that is easy to get behind and that you root for, while also giving significant detail to setting and intricacies of his world.

Jack Stone is any normal 18-year-old living in New York City...except his dad is not being himself and suddenly three members (and a robot) of the Infinity Corps are knocking at his door! Sucked into a war he didn't even know existed, Jack is soon fighting alongside his new friends from outer space to protect the five Infinity diamonds from the evil mastermind bent on using them for his own means.

Opinion:
A science fiction novel told with a large dash of heart and a little dash of humor, Infinity: The Secret of the Diamonds is a fun, easy-paced, space-packed read. I enjoyed the description of the characters, settings, and items in the novel - these made for easy "picturing" of the action in my mind while I was reading. I also liked the connections Jack had with other characters; Jack and Anne's chemistry seemed very natural, as did Jack and Wayne's easy friendship.

I feel this book will appeal largely to readers 12-15 and will really appeal to male readers in this age range. I would suggest this to someone who is maybe leery of reading or just looking for a great book to get them hooked!

I bought this book due to my fondness for novels on the likes of Rick Riordan and JK Rowling. This book kept me engrossed and I couldn't put it down until I finished it. In the beginning, you could sense the rawness of the author, which gradually matured in his writing by the time you reached the end. A thumbs up to his genuine imaginative creativity. I cannot wait for the continuation novel to be written. I bought another copy for "ThelittleFreelibrary" hoping to spread the word to other budding young authors or people who just have the passion for reading fiction.
