This is the third book in this series I've read. The first in which someone from the past visits our time. It is probably a lot harder to write such a story. For, how would someone who lives in 1850 really react to big city London life in the 21st Century? I think Donna K. Weaver did a great job with describing Gareth's reactions. He thinks life will be better and easier in the future. Turns out there were two world wars and there is terrorism... Life in 1850 has it's perks.
Beautiful story with

It only took reading a couple pages and then I was completely immersed in the story. I enjoyed how this book stands alone, but all the books in the series intertwine. When I started reading, I felt like I already knew the characters. "Aunt" Nellie was quick to love and Gareth also won we over quickly. He had a certain quality that I eagerly wanted to read more about. Catherine too was wonderful. In fact, all of the characters were fantastic. I enjoyed Gareth and Catherine's "lessons" when Gareth ...more

I'll be honest, fantasy and time travel are not genres I usually read. Because of this, I was a little overwhelmed at the beginning, but eventually found myself sucked into the story and had a hard time putting it down. Gareth and Catherine are so sweet together. I love their give and take with one another. They complement each other so nicely.

This is the first book I've read in this series and obviously I enjoyed it, but I wish I had either started at the very beginning of the series or at the

With the Magic reminds me of the movie Kate and Leopold, which is one of my favorite Meg Ryan movies, so as you might imagine I did enjoy the book. If you’ve read Weaver’s first book, Against the Magic, you’ll be familiar with many of the characters already and with the conclusion of that book we were left wondering what would happen to Gareth Hildebrand. With the Magic answers that question. Weaver does a great job with character development. In short, With the Magic is about finding out what i ...more

Gareth Hildebrand (who lives in 1850) met and fell in love with a woman from the future at Twickenham Manor, but she chose someone else and went back to her time. He's fascinated with what it must be like in the future and talks Aunt Nellie into painting his portrait so he will be able to travel in time.

Dr. Catherine Ryan (in the present time) attends the monthly balls at Twickenham Manor, where she seems quite taken with a painting of Gareth Hildebrand. Aunt Nellie arranges for Catherine to be

This was my second visit to the magical Twickenham Estate, and I enjoyed it likewise, though this one had a much sadder tint to it. Both the hero and the heroine are widowed, and the hero seeks to go to the future to find some closure after the woman who loved him out of his heartbreak left him for another man. Then Aunt Nellie has some matchmaking plans laid in place to bring in the good doctor to be his tour guide. It was interesting seeing the Victorian age and modern times compared and contr ...more

I received a free copy of the clean time travel romance novel With the Magic:Twickenham Time Travel Romance Book 4 by Donna K. Weaver and this review was given freely.
A nice blend of modern and historical day to day life mixed with highlights of modern London tourist destinations and defining world military events. This novel ends happily while hinting at sequel. Picking up where Against the Magic ends with Gareth entering just prior to the 'JUMP', Aunt Nellie brings life and love into th

This book made me laugh a little then cry a lot, and then left me very happy. I love it when a book can do that - keep me up reading until 2:00 in the morning, yet feel like it was totally worth it! I really enjoyed seeing characters from past books, and how they’re doing now, as well as watch the personal growth within the characters, be they the main or secondary, etc characters. The characters I’ve met so far in this series have been very realistic and believable, even though it is a time tra ...more

This was so exciting and lovely how it all came together. I could see just how it all played out in my mind as I read. Excitement and danger was there, love and denial also. Two hearts brought together through time only for one to think they would bring the other down. Great ending and am looking forward to the next in the series.

So magical. I thoroughly enjoyed the well crafted tale of Gareth coming to the modern world. He finds more than he imagined or bargained for, especially when it comes to Catherine.

t was wonderful to watch Gareth and Catherine try to understand each other and learn from one another.

Aunt Nellie is one of my favorite side characters.

As always, Ms. Weaver spins a beautiful tale.

Can time keep them apart?

When Gareth is given the opportunity to visit the future, he has so many preconceived ideas about how ideal it will be. The author did a great job in showing his surprise at so many “modern” things. I loved the way he tried to pretend he wasn’t completely lost in our society.

I liked Catherine as well. She was passionate about helping her patients. She was also practical and fun. The way she figured out Gareth’s secret showed her intelligence.

Gareth take a trip into the future

After being introduced to Lord Gareth in book 3, I was very anxious to read this book. He had developed so much in the little appearance he made in Against the Magic that I was super anxious to read his full story.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series. Gareth’s story has been a favorite of mine. He goes to the future and sees first hand the advancements that have been made to his home land. He experiences life in the 21st century, but it is not the utopia he wa

I enjoyed With the Magic very much because it was very descriptive of the time period and also socially correct. Every once in awhile, I like to read a romance where men are gentlemanly and mannered. I truly enjoyed Catherine and Gareth's story because they didn't let time come between them.

A man out of time

I loved this installment of Twickenham Time Travel Romances. Gareth thinks the time Reese came from must be a utopia. He meets a lovely doctor in modern times. They both discover that all history has it's delights and horrors.

So enjoyed this book. I really identified with the doctor in the story. I wasn't sure if I would like a time travel story, but it totally held my attention. Want to read the rest of the series!

I am thoroughly enjoying this series despite my typically not being a big time travel reader. These are fun. I really liked Gareth and grew to really like Catherine. I didn't connect with her instantly but I got there. I loved that Gareth was willing to learn and improve and not allow pride to stand in the way of real progress. I loved how quickly he overcame his non-feminist views, once it was pointed out to him anyway. As he said, it wasn't that he really thought a woman couldn't do something ...more

I didn't read the first of Donna K. Weaver's Twickenham books (Against the Magic) but I almost wish I had because this book seems to pick up right where the events of that one left off. There are also plenty of references to how our hero Gareth thought that he was in love with the heroine of the previous book and how she changed his life. I just thought I would put that out there in case other readers are bothered by that sort of thing. I usually am, but second-chance romance really doesn't inte ...more

This is an enjoyable story that easily draws you in and keeps you entertained with romance, time travel, humor and fae magic. Gareth and Catherine complement each other perfectly and I loved the humor the author infused in the story, especially when Gareth, who travels to London from 1850, first encountered jeans and zippers. Torn between responsibility and love, Lord Gareth and Dr. Catherine, have to decide if the potential for love is worth making sacrifices for. The author did an excellent jo ...more

A Sweet & Clean Magical Love Story

Would you cross through time to spend your life with the one you love? That is ultimately the question before Catherine and Gareth. Fae magic can open the portal, but they must decide their own future.

With the Magic is an entertaining romance with very likable characters. I easily connected with Gareth and Catherine. They both had faced extreme sorrow, and they both had given up on love. Neither expected their chemistry to developed steadily, nor did they expe

This was a great story. I loved seeing how Catherine had a passion for history and went to the dances put on at the Twikenham manor. I enjoyed her medical mind as well. Gareth had found out about the possibility of time travel and wanted to go to the future. Once he got there, he met Catherine. The chemistry between the two was pretty strong throughout the book. Seeing how the couple interacted and the situations that they came across added to the story. Catherine and Gareth had decisions to mak ...more

I’ve listened to or read other books in this series but this is my second audiobook by Donna Weaver in this series. Many of the books in this series can be read out of order. But make sure that you read Against the Magic before this one. This is the story of Gareth that we meet in Donna’s previous book. He gets his own love story. He decides to go to the future to see what it is like. After meeting Reese in the previous book he is curious about this future land. He meets Catherine. They each hav ...more

This is actually book 2 in the series and I hate reading out of order but this story is so good and so much fun to read. I love time travel series and this one is a whole lot of fun. In this story you have Charlotte and Garreth who are from two different time periods. Charlotte is from our time and Garreth is from 1850. Then you have Garreth's aunt Nellie who is a fairy and she uses her magic to send people through time, usually people who are meant to be together which can be difficult seeing a ...more

Gareth had his heart torn to shreds when his wife and son died soon after a premature birth. Feeling that he is incapable of love, he goes in search of shallow pleasures with the hope of dulling the pain.
After Reese shows him the error of his ways, he realizes that she has traveled from a time in the future. He wants to travel to that future to learn how he might more meaningfully help the people in his own time. That is when the magic and Aunt Nellie bring him to modern time to meet a doctor na

With the Magic: Twickenham Time Travel Romance, Book 7, my third read from author Donna K. When she goes back in time with him she will struggle with staying or going. Being a modern, stubborn doctor, some friends, magic and the earl need to convince her that thebpaatbis her future.
