Eloquent and Emotional

Heaven Denied is an emotional, poignant and introspective read . It deals with grief of many forms . Not only death of a love one is devastating; finding out about they had an entire secret life you knew nothing about . And that knowledge is soul crushing and life changing at the same time. That's when you begin to question yourself , your choices and those around you. Would you have done something different or absolutely the same?

Heaven Denied is a well-written book , tha

Matt has not lost one wife, but two, taken before their time. Heaven Denied is a look into his psyche to see how one person deals with grief, the desperation of loss and the need to know….

Ken La Salle has a way of digging deep into my mind, raising questions and making me wonder what I would do. How would I handle the loss of someone so important to me that I cannot let them go. He gets inside my head, scrambling all my perceptions to the point where I get Matt’s motivation, his need to do somet

Ken’s books are different from what I usually read but I always enjoy them. Heaven Denied is the sequel to Heaven Enough, a book I really loved. And I loved this one too!

Heaven Denied takes us on a journey that is well-written, has well developed characters, and is realistic. Matt’s story is an emotional one that made me feel all sorts of things. What happens when things aren’t what they seemed? That’s a hard pill to swallow for sure. Matt learns and grows through this book and his story made m

I positively loved Heaven Denied.

I didn’t read the sequel to Heaven Enough, I devoured it. Forgiving yourself for choices you’ve made in life is tough. Especially when you are still questioning all of your choices and what you thought you knew and where you placed your priorities. Humorous, frustrating and hopeful, this is a story about life, relationships and The Void. Learning to accept what we have, what we can change and what we cannot. Heaven Denied explores it all. You can’t help but care

Matt's story is an emotional one as he deals with his grief and finding out about his wife's secret life before him. I felt for him and everything he's gone through and his need to know more. This book really took me on an emotional ride and pulled on my heartstrings. This well-written book really got me thinking about life, the journeys we all take, people we meet along the way and how their stories affect ours. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author in the future. I voluntar ...more

Just a very real book overall in my opinion. Most of us have dealt with grief in one way or another and have dealt with loss. You wonder what next what's out there and how are you going to move on.

This was a great look into all of those questions and even more. There are some darker moments and really emotional times throughout this book, but there is humor laced in between in places that I thought was perfectly done.

It's a story about acceptance, living, and life in general.

This is the 2nd book I've read written Ken La Salle; he has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of his books.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

I loved the characters.

I read the whole story and truthfully I can't honestly say I loved it. I found it hard to continue reading and thought a lot of times it just didn't make a lot of sense. But then if you think about it this book is all about putting to bed the ghosts of the past.

What a fantastic read. Starts of slowly and deals with a lot of things you will interpret in your own way, I think it can connect with many different people in that way.

There are just so many what if's in this world and things you don't know and I think this sheds light on that while giving us characters we can connect to and understand their position. A truly wonderful read!

Born on an 18th century mining ship, Ken La Salle is not his name. He just likes it. He writes about whatever he damn well pleases, hoping to build more of a cult following than a readership just for a cut on the robes. Looking for the mainstream but sticking to the shore, you can find out more about Ken La Salle at the imaginatively named www.kenlasalle.com. ...more
