I know many people rated this higher but this story had me a little confused. The H had had a series of on again off agains with Daphne until he finally asked her to marry him. MEANWHILE he had been having an intimate relationship with Lilith for months until...wait for it, Daphne returns. Lilith is now pregnant and she decides to remove herself from the triangle so that the H and Daphne can marry. But she is so upset/depressed with the situation that she attempts suicide and this results in a premature birth. Both of the mothers (H/h) knew that she has a daughter and no one tells the H. Sure he acted like a douche, but he deserved to know.

After finding out about his daughter, this married former lover sleeps in the bed with Lilith! Yup, great guy. Sorry ladies, but this man leaves a lot to be desired. He wants everything his way and fails to realize how much he is hurting others. To close the loop, Lilith is killed and the H and Daphne raise his daughter. Hopefully this child will not realize what a douche her father was to her mother until she is old enough to handle the truth without months of therapy.

NO KNIGHTS HERE!!!
OMG! Wow, talk about one heartbreaking and gut wrenching tales. Grab some tissue cause man are you gonna need it. A whirlwind of emotions and events that pull your heartstrings tightly. Jennifer didn't cut any slack. Throwing caution to the wind. Her no holds barred, no pulling punches and take no prisoners attitude really hit hard. All the drama, uncertainty, fear, mystery and suspense increases while tension spirals. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances that make for one interesting experience. The characters and scenes are written with such realism it really pulls this little guy together perfectly. Jennifer did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Great job Jennifer, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

Boring! No real background on Callum and Lillith's story. Just vague ramblings and nonsense. Callum was a selfish idiot who wanted his cake and to eat it as well. I'm not understanding why two women let themselves be played like this. And Lillith was no better, as she set herself to be a martyr. A dysfunctional love triangle without rhyme or reason. This book was awful and did not have any redeeming qualities to it. The ending just plain sucked, why did that have to happen to Lillith? No happy endings here.

A story of young adult angst that you will either embrace wholeheartedly for what it represents or you will shrug it off and poke holes into the story - it all depends on how you read a book. If you read to suspend reality to a degree, then you will feel for the characters and your heart will go out to the young people involved and their struggles to navigate young love and the problems that come with it. Callum is a typical, immature young man that means no harm but is still learning what love means, despite believing he is in love with two women. Lilith is a confused woman who seems to lack any strong female role models and does the best she can.

An insightful view into young minds and mental health and for those who want perfectly formed characters with a lot of back story and characters that are not flawed, don't bother with this gritty angst-ridden story. For those who want a glimpse into how hard love can be for the young and foolish, this is a quick, and emotionally charged story.

Callum had two great loves, his best friend Lilith and his wife Daphne. When Callum and Daphne were going through a rough time it was Lilith he ran to. They rekindled their love but she made him go back to Daphne. Then she disappeared only to resurface four years later. He is still in love with both of them.

This is a contemporary romance filled with emotional drama. It is the most emotionally charged book that I have read this year and had me in tears. The characters are all in such unthinkably difficult positions. And yet the book is filled with such love and caring. But in love triangles one or more are often the losers and with such likeable characters you want them all to find true happiness. It is extremely well written and the flashbacks add a great deal to the storyline. It is rare that a book touches me so deeply. It is a must read if you love romance at all.

A heart wenching story that will having you crying at the end of the book. So get your hanky ready just in case.
I generally loved it. A sad, but somewhat upbeat story too. Lots of emotions and words. That make you think you jumped into the middle of another story.
Callum hasn't quite stopped thinking of her (Lilith) in a while. But always wondered what she was up too. He shouldn't because he has a wife and child of his own to care for. But that doesn't stop him from thinking of his best friend and past lover. That is until he finds the real reason why she left and never contacted him again. Can he make her current life work with that of his past but current future too? Or will he be completely broken in two forever.

I received a copy of this book from Shifted Sheets and I voluntarily leave my review also Jennifer Hartley is a fairly new author to me and it’s a clean romance and I enjoyed it immensely. Wow this story is a heartbreaker it’s about a man that loses the love of his life and his best friend when she up and just disappeared, he waits quite awhile for her then he decides to move on with his life. He falls in love with another woman they have a child together and they are happy until this other woman comes back into his life. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read, it’s also a nice change having a clean romance to read.

I felt this was not really a clean read so much as a limited details read. It wasn’t explicit or graphic by any means but it does talk about sex and them being intertwined and sleeping together (mind you while he’s married to someone else...but that’s ok because they’ve always loved each other?!?) I admit that once I started reading I was invested in the story and had to see what he would choose to do, stay with his wife and son or be with his life long love and the daughter he didn’t know they’d had? I did think the quality of writing was well done but content was much less than I expected from a clean romance.

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.

Callum couldn’t believe that Lilith had just saying she loved him and goodbye. Callum’s mom was talking to Lilith mom and asking why she never told him. Lilith mom told her that because he had gotten back with his old flame and she didn’t want to bother him because he looked so happy. Callum over hears this and can’t believe he has a daughter Lilith didn’t tell him about. Callum was still married but he told her that he had seen Lilith again and they had a daughter. Callum assured Daphne that he was going nowhere. Many twists and turn and did not see that ending coming.

It was unfortunately just one cliche after the other and extremely foreseeable. The characters did not draw me in at all. I especially did not like Callum. He seemed like a very weak person, irresponsible, naive, ignorant and not charming at all. I did not understand the problem of their relationship. It was too superficial and strained. I know there needs to be a problem but theirs just missed the goal. It surely was meant to add depth and tension to the story, but it didn't. It simply did not make any sense at all.

**Mild spoilers, read the book's summary and a couple chapters and you should be able to piece together the book.**

I knew a couple chapters in that I wasn't a fan of the book. One man loving two women and then throw in innocent children. Had this not been a novella I wouldn't have finished it. I forced myself to read the remainder of the book and push through my irritation.

I would say within the first five chapters I had figured out how the book would end. I will say the last chapter took this from a 2.5 star to a 3 star rating for me.

This romantic story between Callum & Lilith of love found and lost and found again. Callum and Lilith were deeply in love then one day Lilith suddenly leaves. Callum is heartbroken but goes on with his life marrying Daphne and they have a son Kevin. Then one day Lilith comes back in his life and Callum must choose between his first love or the marriage he is committed to. This heartbreaking romance of second chance love is fantastically written and I really enjoyed it.

A Short but Sweet Love Story

This is my first time reading this Author & it was very good. It's really the story of a Love triangle between Callum , his wife Daphne & his ex-dance partner & best friend Lillith. We don't get too much of a storyline about their pasts but just enough to keep you interested in what will happen next. No spoilers here but it's a quick read that ends when you least expect it.

This is such a heart braking story that you had to have the kleenex ready. Triangle love is so difficult for all involved. It was between best friends/dance partners, Callum and Lilith, and his ex-girl, Daphne, whom he married because Lilith up and left without saying good bye. Four years later Lilith is back with a daughter. Guess who is the father? This story just breaks your heart as Caalum must decide what happens now. It is Real Tear Jerker!

I didn't like the story because the man was in love with two women, which never works out well. I felt so bad for both of these women. What happened near the end was terrible and tragic. There really couldn't be a Happily Ever After for all three of the characters. Fortunately it was very short.

I liked this novel, didn't love it and Lilith ( the character) was very annoying. The novel's concept was interesting, just not fully fleshed out. Bittersweet and refreshing..

I tried to see the good in this story, but just couldn't. This guy is so wishy-washy, and has spent most of his young life going back and forth between these two women. And they let him. Lillith had sex with him even knowing he would more than likely go back to Daphne, and she told him to go back even when she was pregnant. Daphne knew, even up to the point where she married him, that he would always love Lillith (and not in a best friend sort of way). Although, there is a lot of background left out, I think. All of them plus their families and friends were all part of the same small dance circle, but nobody breathed a word of Lillith's pregnancy? Weird. He cheats on his wife with Lillith, and immediately starts the wishy-washy back and forth thing again. He only goes back to Daphne this last time (like all the times before) because Lillith tells him to. Such a cheating wimp! I've seriously never been so turned off by a male character before. And having one of the women die at the end? Well I guess that means that he never has to learn to be decisive! Although he's still crying all throughout the rest of his marriage about the one he lost. This was a hard no for me.
