The book might be relevant for the exam, and a good reference for that for all I know, but the author claims this details "advanced" Microsoft 365 setups, and this I find a bit funny, because it only goes into detail about a basic Microsoft 365 tenant setup. I didn't find this book useful at all, but overall "okay", as it is easy to follow and well structured, describes important features, although elementary. I didn't learn a single thing from reading this book, and it didn't inspire any further reading topics.

If you're new to Microsoft 365 then it's not too bad, but if you are already administering Microsoft 365 tenants and want to learn more about good practice or advanced features, this is not worth the read.

This is not unlike other Microsoft books except its on the subject of MS 365 Identity and services which of course covers some azure and blended installs with an onsite ad and exchange.
Like all other Microsoft books it does not cover everything you need to know to pass the exam, it is a very dry read, and it has links to places online where you can find further reading on the subject. This further reading on the subject was available online for free prior to you purchasing the book that does not have all the information in it that you need to pass the test. Is it worth it? Maybe to you. Not to me it isn't.
It could be that your employer reimbursed you for the cost of this book because they want you to pass this certification test. Still, the "free" book is going to take up time you can never get back. Like any book, you should ask your self if you think this one is worth that. The price tag is just a distraction. For me it wasn't worth all that. MS makes it a hassle to sign up for their standardized tests, publishes study guides that don't cover all material on the test, and then if you fail the test they don't tell you what your score was. Sounds like a scam to me.

I think this book was great. I was trying to find a decent source to prepare myself for the MS-100 exam and this was good. I am yet to pass the exam, but after reading this I have an idea of what I understand and know and what not so much.

This book gives you boundaries of what topics are included in the exam, what's the depth and details you should delve into and gives you a list of exam tips - things you can bet will be there.

If you think you're not sure about a topic, you're provided with a link on docs.microsoft.com where you can go and learn more and in-depth.

Overall, great resource. I'll update this if I pass the exam.
