I bought this book for myself despite the fact that I am not its target audience. But I love the story of a Christmas Carol and just couldn't help myself. I would have had it done in one sitting but life has a way of interrupting a good book.

This version of the story stayed true to the original only change is everyone a mouse, which changed nothing in my opinion. No surprises if you no the story but still worth the read.

Geronimo Stilton us my favorite mouse of all time! I loved this version of Charles Dickens classic novel and the standout illustrations added so much joy and whimsy. This gorgeous book would be the perfect way to introduce young readers to a well known classic in such a fun way.

Judul : A Christmas Carol
Original Text: Charles Dickens
Di Adaptasi Oleh : Geronimo Stilton
Tahun terbit: 2019
Penerbit : Scholastic Inc.
Pinjam di: Libby

A Christmas Carol sudah di terjemahin di seluruh dunia. Cerita Adaptasi-nya pun ada banyak sekali. Salah satunya Novel Grafis ini.
Sedari kecil aku suka sekali sama cerita A Christmas Carol, rasanya benar-benar membekas.

Delightful!

Stilton’s version of the classic A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is a delightful showcase of design and color which shines even when reading it on a kindle or phone! His revisions only help clarify the story and make it easier to understand for younger readers.

Interesting how I came upon this. I wanted to get credit for the read towards my yearly kindle challenge but this was the only version of A Christmas Carol I found through Libby that allowed for reading on a Kindle! Well I didn’t plan on really reading through it as I was listening to the audio of the classic version. Well I might have come for the credit but I stayed for this amazingly delightful read and feast for my eyes version!

Proud of myself for having started this at the right time to read a little bit out loud every day (to my kids) for the past 5 or 6 days so we were able to finish it comfortably today. I enjoyed sharing this version of the story with them! I was going to read them the original Dickens' classic but I think that might have been a mistake. This was a good compromise. The author kept all the important bits (and vibe/time period) of the original while updating the language (and making it more accessible to a younger audience).

Last year, I bought a class set to use for Language Arts instruction with 4th and 5th graders, and it was worth the investment. This book was a big hit with my students, and it does an excellent job making a classic tale accessible for an audience of younger readers, regardless of their reading comprehension levels. This version also has beautiful illustrations. 🎅🏻 To all of my teacher friends, I highly recommend using it with your students!

So this isn’t the Dickens book I was meant to read…but I have a feeling Charles would have gotten a laugh out of this!
I actually found that I learned from this. The moral of the story: be kind and find joy in life.
It’s a beautifully presented book, I loved the double spread images and the words that were illustrated on classic Stilton style.
Overall it was a nice, short Christmas read, a retelling of my favourite classic and a nostalgic trip into the books I loved when I was a kid.

This is another good mouse story. He had not heard of Scrooge as a Christmas story and this was a great introduction. He has carried the book around for a few days and loved the pictures and the ghosts. This adaptation is the Scrooge story dated without the heavy Dickens part about 19th century England but maintains the essence with a happy ending. Great series and so engaging.

Great looking book from the outside, great colored pictures inside.

Great adaptation of a Christmas classic.

Gonna be honest I thought I was just reading an abridged version of a Christmas carol and I didn’t realize it was a mouse version. Mousiness aside, I was a little disappointed because it felt very choppy and like it didn’t have the spirit (for lack of a better word) of the original story. I didn’t feel like they captured Scrooge’s personality very well and my favorite moments of the original story just weren’t there at all. I still gave it three stars because it is a children’s book and I don’t want to be overly critical, but it wasn’t what I was expecting.

I love the Christmas Carol story and this was a pretty faithful adaptation of it. Of course, the original is better but I think this is a fun way to get the story in the hands of younger readers. Plus this edition has beautiful glittery red sprayed edges!

I love Geronimo Stilton books. I love the art, the stories, the world the mice live in. I love the Christmas Carol. I love the message, the ghosts, the Christmas cheer. This is an adorable read with heart-warming nods to the original and charming characters.

This is just a beloved story. One filled with much insight to our past, where we are today and where that will lead us in the future. We can change if we don't like the person we are or where we are headed. This version of the story is super cute and the illustration is amazingly beautiful!

This is a great adaptation and so close to the original. So many different versions rison of this story exist, but this one is the closest I have read while being a little easier to understand.

A great spin on an old classic that kids will enjoy. Used this as one of our homeschool readalongs for my 4th grade son and we both enjoyed the writing and the illustrations.

A great retelling of a favorite Christmas classic for kids. I wish they hadn’t left off any of Tiny Tim’s phrases, including the “God bless us, everyone!” at the end.

A Christmas Carol is my favorite Christmas story and this was my favorite read this year on a take from the Dickens tale.

Same ideas and situations but all with Geronimo the mouse flair.
