Everything But a Wedding
Every Hungarian Grandma knows that words have power. Nana Salo never meant the words she said in anger to become a family curse, but that's just what happened. Two grandchildren have found love, but not managed to break the curse. Nana's last hope is Dori, who promises to help her break the curse when she marries...if she marries. Okay, so Dori doesn't plan to ever marry. So there's no worry about not being able to keep her promise. Enter Carter William Hastings. He's pretending to be an interior designer in order to help his cousin, CeCe. Who could have predicted that this ruse would end with his developing feelings for the contractor, Dori Salo? But Dori knows him as Bill Hastings--what chance does an ordinary guy like Bill Hastings have with her?

And the curse is broken....
Another fun fluffy read in the series... this time it is Dori's turn to break the curse.... And Nana is convinced that Carter/bill is just the man to do this... but who is the real carter/Bill, please stand up.... thought this was another sweet love story slightly implausible, but I do enjoy spending time with his family....

Another great story. It was amazing to read that finally after all this years Nana Vancy realized that there was no curse.

Loved it
There's no mystery about who should end up together. The story is the obstacles they face in getting there. And a well written story gives you relatable characters who engage the reader so that you're rooting for them, and even though you knew they would you're relieved when they surmount that last one. This is a very well written story.

Family getting bigger.
I gave book 3in the Everything but.... Series a five star cuz it is a must read to understand the Salos story. It is about another character of the Salos' family but it introduces new character to add to the family love.

A silly, sweet love story, rated high because it had me chuckling a number of times. This is a short story.
STORY BRIEF:
Hungarian Grandma (Nana) believes she caused a curse upon all her husband’s offspring. Accidents and disasters take place during their weddings. Dori is the last single grandchild. Nana hopes Dori will break the curse and not have a disaster at her wedding. Dori works in the family’s home construction business. She is a tomboy. She lives in jeans and works with a hard hat. She believes she will never marry. Cece is an interior designer who wants to do the design work for the model home in one of Dori’s real estate developments. Because Cece is pregnant and confined to bed, she talks her cousin Bill into pretending to be a designer who works with her. She wants Bill to make the design presentation to Dori (which Cece had previously prepared). Cece also insists Bill dress as a metrosexual, with Cece buying and picking out exactly what he is to wear. Although Bill is an architect, he pretends to be an interior designer temporarily to help Cece. Odd circumstances cause Bill to be in Dori’s presence and with her family on a few occasions. For these events, he is overdressed due to Cece’s urging, and it makes for some funny moments.
This is the third book in the “Everything But” trilogy. It was ok as a stand alone book, but I think I would have preferred reading them in order. I had some curiosity about the other couples that wasn’t answered here. The first two books are “Everything But A Groom” and “Everything But A Bride.”
REVIEWER’S OPINION:
There were a lot of funny lines. I was frequently chuckling. I enjoyed Dori’s tomboy nature and carpentry skills. She made things for her nephews that her brother in law couldn’t, like a tree house and wooden window seats. I usually don’t like conflict based on lies, but in this case, it was acceptable. Bill blamed Cece’s irrational thinking and requests on her pregnancy state. I was happy to go along with it for the sake of a silly story with a few laughs. This is a pleasant, sweet and charming story about Bill and Dori falling for each other. It’s a short story. I read it in about half the time I spend reading other romance books.

Everything But A Wedding is the third installment of series. About what happens when a Hungarian grandmother unintentionally curses her family to never again have a big, fancy wedding. Dori is the last unwed grandchild, and Nana's last chance this generation to break her accidental curse. The entire family seems to believe that interior designer, Carter, is Dori's love and destiny. Dori, however, strongly disagrees. How can a life-long tomboy form a committed relationship with a metrosexual clothes horse?
One of the best things about this series is the strong sense of family loyalty. As Carter learns, your family does have to be large to have strong ties. What's not so great is that the characters tend to be rigid in their ideas and beliefs. Emotional cowardice is also a running theme. I prefer more daring characters.
Everything But A Wedding is a clean romance that is appropriate for the PG13+ crowd. Parents will enjoy the story, yet not feel uncomfortable sharing the book with teens.

The curse that wasn't a curse finally comes to an end.
Dori knew her Grandmother planned on her breaking the family curse, but she's got no plans whatsoever of ever falling in love and marrying. She's got her family, her nephews and a new baby on the way, and she's got her housing projects.
Carter William Hastings plans on moving out west and starting his own architectural firm, but he's willing to do one last thing for his cousin CeCe before he goes. Win a contract for her with Salo Construction to do the interior design.
So Dori and Carter create a friendship to satisfy both families knowing they won't have to keep it up more than a few weeks. But lies and emotions and changes of the heart get in the way. Loved this story and this series.

I haven't read anything lately, and didn't know what to get, so I just picked this up while browsing at the library.
It's a very cute, quick read. Cheesy at times, the writing is a little elementary (I could even tell). It's clean though and that's what I was hoping for. I will read more from this author.

Wonderful
This book was so funny and romantic I enjoyed it. Dora and Bill were perfect for each other and Bill was a perfect addition to the Salo family. See Dora and Bill really did break the curse you'll have to read this book to find out how.

#3 of 3 this is the last book about the Wedding Curse. Will Dori break the curse? Carter/Bill hopes so. Grandma Vancy has to be dealt with. fun easy read.

I didn’t connect with this book. I found it quite repetitive (how many times can you remind the reader that Nana Vancy is a tiny spitfire?) and the formatting wasn’t great. Now the formatting issues aren’t the fault of the story, but it just added to the other issues I was having.
Dori’s thoughts on marriage didn’t make sense to me. Even once we get her back-story, I wasn’t convinced that’s how a woman would respond. Carter/Bill was exhausting with his reminders that he never breaks promises, blah, blah, blah. I liked Bill’s personality in most ways, but he really needed to use some common sense in this area.
Speaking of Bill not using his common sense, his cousin really got on my bad side. I’ve been pregnant and been around pregnant people. Yes, a pregnant woman can be highly irrational. But it doesn’t usually take the birth of the baby for her to regain her common sense. It’s generally a minute by minute thing. She spent so much money on clothes for “Carter” she probably came out even on the job she landed with the Salo family. Then there’s the baby daddy issue that just, again, made no sense once you know the back-story.
I think I need to give this series a break. As with the other books in the series, the concept of the story turned out to be better than the actual story. I’d be better off picking back up with these when the weather warms up and I want something super fluffy I don’t get too invested in for the beach or a road trip.
