Hi, and thanks for stopping by my Goodreads page! I don't visit this site often, so the best way to reach me is via my websites at www.rubyredshoes.com.au and www.twigseeds.com or on instagram and facebook where I'm @missrubyredshoes and @twigseeds

Kate Knapp is an Australian author and illustrator.

Her studio, Twigseeds, has given flight to a world of colourful characters, including the charming and much loved aware hare and children's book character, Ruby Red Shoes.

Ruby lives in a prettily painted caravan with her grandmother, Babushka Galina Galushka. Ruby is gentle and kind and cares for all living things. Her days are spent tending to her vegetable patch, chatting to her chickens and enjoying the outdoors and sunshine. Ruby is particularly partial to strawberry jam and peppermint tea. She is also rather fond of red shoes.

The Twigseeds band of furry and feathery friends have grown a following of both children and grown-ups alike. They have appeared in books, magazines, art prints, greeting cards, stationery, plush toys and bed linen.

Kate creates all her artwork by hand, using pencil, ink, watercolour ... and a bit of magic.

What a lovely story, which I’m so glad I spotted in Hatchards! I enjoyed all the puns tucked in the illustrations. Need to find the other Ruby Red Shoes books!

I have come to love this gorgeous little series of early readers.

Ruby Red Shoes Goes to London is full of love and kindness and tenderness.

In London, Ruby and her grandmother, visit family for Christmas.

We meet, aunts and cousins (and the Queen!) and we sadly learn a little more about why Ruby lives with her Babushka Galushka.

Ruby explores London and spends time playing with her cousins, before the time comes all too quickly to return home.

The Ruby Red Shoes series rejoices in family and home.

I enjoyed this more than my daughter and that is because it was fun to see iconic British landmarks hare edition (such as Harethrow Airport) and she ends up meeting the Queen Hare Majesty. London has always been on my travel bucket list and Ruby’s adventures are how I imagine my trip will be (whenever it will be).

This is a gorgeous addition to the Ruby Red Shoes series. I love the series because they are just the complete package - cute story, delicate illustrations, thick quality paper, just a lovely object to handle and own. Describing it as charming seems a bit facile but that is really what it is.

In this adventure, Ruby Red Shoes and her Babushka go to London to visit her Auntie and cousins. They see all the sights, and meet some very friendly corgis and their majestic owner! There are also some very cute and clever puns to spot within those illustrations.

It was fine. I just hope Kate would bring Ruby to a different country instead of going back to her chooks

A hare visits relatives in London.

The production quality of this book was high, the graphics were sweet, but the story was a bit thin.

Reading time around twenty minutes.

Lovely, detailed illustrations are the making of this book. I have a soft spot for books about London and am glad to add this one to my collection. The story is sweet and gentle too.
