This is a book I was suspicious about. I had read The Weeping Bookings of Blinney Lane, the prequel to this high fantasy, assuming it was a standalone. When I heard there was a sequel, I was hopeful but doubtful. The first was so perfectly complete. Well, Drea Damara outdid herself, doing the almost impossible and improving on an already powerful story. She did this by taking one secondary character and one tertiary character from the first book, two extremely flawed but colorful characters and ...more

Stunning...
An age-old curse is unleashed when Franci dresses up as her favorite movie star and now it is up to her friends to find a cure. Through magical worlds and mythical beasts, will they be able to find a cure and save their friend before it is too late?
Okay let's start at the beginning here. Let's begin with the cover art. I think the word that I used "stunning" refers mostly to the cover that you see when you first pick up the book. Brilliant use of color and hints of magic behind every

This book “Beyond Farwin Wood” is the second novel in this series - ‘The Blinney Lane Books.’ I was really impressed with this novel, although I have not read very many books from this genre, nor I have read, the first book, entitled ‘The Weeping Books of Blinney Lane.’

Drea Damara’s creative skill in writing showed as this super, imaginative, tale of fantasy and adventure flowed well from the start, even when the story was moving between the different worlds.

The story mainly concentrated on Val

Thank you NetGalley and BHC Press for this arc.

I did not realize this was a sequel when I first started reading it. As a result, I was a little disoriented reading the first 25-30 pages. By that time, I was captivated and kept on reading and enjoying! I found this to be a charming and gentle fairy tale, despite the "monsters" (all animal, no humans). a very sweet adventure story with strong characters (though some did suffer from befuddlement in new worlds). I'll keep an eye out for the 1st book

I was asked to read this book for an honest opinion. Normally, I do not like fantasy books, but I absolutely LOVE The Blinney Lane books! This is the second book of the series, the first being "The Weeping Books Of Blinney Lane." This book flows well from the beginning, especially jumping back and forth between both worlds. We pick up with the same cast of characters from Blinney Lane, but this story focuses on a few different ones than the first story. The only main character that continues to ...more

I was really so excited to get the copy of this and I thank BHC Press for sending me a free copy of this in exchange for a review.

I've read The Weeping Books of Blinney Lane and it was the book that really made me into reading Fantasy. I wasn't suppose to be reading Fantasies because they aren't really my type but this book really change my perspective! When I found out about the sequel, I was really excited about it.

Drea Damara never fails to amaze me. Her way of writing, how she narrates the s

This book was almost like if Dr. Seuss had an influence in creating the world from the NeverEnding Story. Needless to say, there’s some interesting lands and creatures to discover here! The residents of Blinney Lane exist in what we would identify as the present day, albeit with some intense supernatural elements at work, as they are impacted by an old witch’s curse that restricts them to living within a 3 block radius of this small Salem town. However, some of the residents have successfully tr ...more

*this book was given to me for review purposes. Thanks to Drea Damara*
This book was really good! I did find it a bit slow to start with, but that may have been because I kept reading in only ten minute slots.
The characters were really interesting; I especially loved Valerie. She was very independent and thought that she didn't need a man to make her happy. Even though she did enter a relationship towards the end of the novel, she was by no means defined by that relationship.
The plot was engag

Thank you Drea Damara for the opportunity to read your book. This was a great read. The story was really interesting to me. This book is a great blend of fantasy and romance. I really liked the writing style. Also, I really liked the characters, especially Valerie. I thought her character was different and brought the book some energy. I really liked her character. Also, her dynamic with Ricky and Ranthrop wa

Good follow-up of original characters of Blinney Lane and life with a never-ending curse. More in-depth character development which finds Franci stuck in a role of her favorite star. The others at first think it is just normal Halloween pranking until it is revealed the original actress committed suicide. Now all the residents, Mary and daughter Valerie, Reggie a narcissistic gigolo, Sarah and her nephew Ricky, and Sarah's new love, Hugh. A council meeting among the cursed residents with the add ...more

The sequel to The Weeping Bookings of Blinney , Damara takes your journey deeper into the weeping books beyond Farwin Wood .
A masterfully creative land of Terradoon . The characters must confront the Tunnel of Whispers. Damara creative world building captures you into a wonderful high fantasy. It's the second book I read in this series and I think it's even better than the first one.
I love how the world building is being developed, the cast of characters and the style of writing.
The plot is engaging and entertaining, it never bores.
I look forward to reading the next installment.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

I hesitated to read this because I thought it couldn't possibly be as good as the first. I have had so many disappointing experiences with second books. But guess what? IT WAS EVEN BETTER!! Valerie's travels to Farwin Wood and a Halloween Costume allowed for some comedy that wasn't present in the first book. And I got to know some of the people of Farwin Wood and Blinney Lane a lot better.

Drea Damara thank you for taking care of the travel between worlds. Please please write more!!!!!

Drea Damara was born and raised on a farm in North Central Illinois. She spent her youth working in the fields, taking care of the family's livestock, and going on adventures in the woods with her three sisters. With a family of seven (including Drea's parents and her invalid grandmother) in an old farmhouse with no air conditioning, one bathroom (and an outhouse), and one television, Drea spent m ...more
