The publisher’s blurb promises that if you like Jim Butcher, Kevin Hearne, Steve McHugh, Michael Anderle, Ilona Andrews, Patricia Briggs, Shannon Mayer, or K.F. Breene then you’ll love this book. I have read many books by all of those authors and pretty much uniformly enjoyed them. None beat Shayne Silvers and the Nate Temple tales. I used to have what I called my “Dresden Test” that used Jim Butcher’s Dresden as the ideal and compared books against those of his Dresden series. That test is long ...more

After what I thought of as a lull in his usual thrilling style, Legend hit my Kindle, and with twists, turns, tears and titters, Shayne Silvers brought Nate Temple back with a bang! There are so many revelations and emotions running through this book that you spend your entire reading experience riveted to the page. holding your breath waiting for the next shock to hit. It's been a long time since I've been this entirely captivated by TempleVerse, and I'm thrilled Shayne is bringing intensity, s ...more

I said it since the day it first showed up and I WAS RIGHT!

Book 11 of the Nate Temple series follows the same increasingly compressed pace as some of the more recent Templeverse installments (the Phantom Queen Diaries in particular) and to start, that is really the only thing that in this instance does deal a particular hit to the book, not in lack of quality or cohesion, but rather that it feels like there was a bit of wasted opportunity to cram in just a few more sub-plots an

He does it again.

To make a long-lasting series enjoyable to me is the ability of the author to let me in to watch characters ' growth as the series progresses. I am talking about series that are more than a trilogy. If I am not seeing even a smidgen of growth by Book Four or Five, I won't be reading beyond that. Obviously if the author is publishing books numbered in the teams, then I am in the minority.

That's ok with reading Shayne Silvers. You will get personal growth handed to you by the buc

Nate, Alex, Grimm and the Bifrost...Oh My!!

I'm pretty sure I cussed Shayne several times reading this book. I also laughed so hard my dog and housemates wondered if I was okay or having a fit of some type. I f@#$ing love this damn book!

Reveal parties, Gods attacking, DEAN!!!! Alex goes badass as hell. A broken Bifrost to fix.., Then there are the tears and more tears and denial. Nate's so going to be in trouble when Ashley hears the story. And then there's Alice. Nate has a son (Alex) and I'm

My only complaint about the books of this series is that they are incredibly short, quick reads. Each one is like a delightful little snack but leaves me hungry for more.

Just wow! Legend is epic, with all of the reveals, action, heart-wrenching, and WTF packed into these pages. In retrospect, WTF is correct but understating the matter.
Basically, take a huge amount of WTF. Wrap it in a rainbow. Call Grimm. Watch the impending explosion, splattering rainbow-gut-soiled WTF all over the place. Then try to read the entrails of the exploded rainbow-sullied WTF to divine the future in the TempleVerse.
THAT is Legend.
You may need a safe word.

Break on through to the other side

A wise man once said “I don’t even know which part to start screaming about” and that’s exactly how I felt. There’s a stupid amount to unpack here. Nate’s looking for answers but sometimes he doesn’t ask the right questions. Or listen to the answers he’s already been given. Sometimes Nate runs from the answers he’s demanding and it’s all catching up with him.
The Norse are coming and a planned trip to Fae for some answers suddenly becomes a race against some seri

I don't know what the exact chronological timeline of the Nate Temple books is; how long has actually passed in his world since the series started, but with everything that's happened to him, revelations about his family, secrets from his past, new powers, old powers, old loves, new loves, fight clubs, betrayal and the possible destruction of the Earth (more than once), it's a wonder he's even sane. Legend simply piles on to what's come before as Nate finally returns to Fae to confront the truth ...more
Legend - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Shayne Silvers works his customary magic, in the second visit by Nate Temple to the Land of Fae, in Book 11 in the Templeverse series.Legend.

And there are certainly plenty of legends - and legendary figures to choose from - as Nate not only has his own unicorn, Grimm, but has a fight with Thor the Norse god, who with his heroes has come to conquer all who stand in his way, whether Fae, Witches, dragons, werewolves, vampires or King Arthur's knights.

Legend : A Nate Temple Supernatural Thriller - Book 11

This story isn't one of my favorites. The story was surrounded by lies, upon lies, terrible deaths and deception, slow moving and sometimes confusing with who really was who. Nate continues to wallow about his lack of powers, magic or Fae.
Nate was in hocks to the King of Hell, but he also was owed two out of Hell free cards. Nate, Gunner, Talon, Alice and her mother Alvara head to Fae land, while Alex and Grimm head off chasing rainbows. Rain

What do I say that I haven’t said before? This book was a gasp-inducing story from beginning to end, just like it always is. I love how you never know what quite to expect, but then when you think about it, the signs were there all along. As I’ve said before, I am a very fast reader, and I know I miss a few of the subtleties. However, that in no way hinders my enjoyment of these wild, fun, non-stop action books. No, I can’t really go into many details because at this point in the series, almost ...more

A Legend is born...

There are books that stand out in a series, that you return to again and again, that are something more because they demand something from their readers—Legend is just such a book When you are on book 11 of a series it is very easy to fall into the pattern of writing what your readers want to read. Shayne Silvers, once again, goes against the grain and takes our favorite wizard, Nate Temple, to a place that none of his fans ever wanted to see him end up. However, in doing so,

Ok, yes this was a good book if you like magical action and snarky humor (the snark is back, thank goodness). There is also a lot of heart in this one.

In this book:

Gunnar learns he is going to be a daddy.

Nate has a fight with Thor in which the Bifröst (the rainbow bridge that connects Asgard to Midgard) is killed by Nate’s unicorn, Grimm. This leads to the necessity of a quest to rebuild it, which has to be done in Fae.

Magical beings are disabled and killed in Fae, some of them permanently. Most

In this magical episode of the Templeverse saga, the reader is mesmerized by The writing style of Shayne Silvers. The storyline is well-written, epic story-telling, SNARK!! There are answers, more questions, a growing family, surprises unfold more of the past secrets, some sadness and fantastic world-building. Very different from previous books

I’m actually very confused right now. This was a very emotional book. I’m not used to feeling sad after reading books by this author. I’m never pleased when a key character dies but I’m not the author. I better get over myself. The key thing about this book is I feel it wasn’t finished. We’ve been dealing with stuff from this character for a few books, I’m getting tired of it not being resolved. The only thing that changed was a key character and a secondary ch

This is a fast paced captivating story that's really difficult to put down! I love the unique characters in this book and the dangerous adventures they go on. Nate is determined to find answers about his Fae childhood, but what he discovers is so much more. I love that no matter what happens, Nate gives his all to protect his friends, his family and his city from threats they are under. Mr Silver's is the writer that just keeps on giving. I'll happily confess to being a fan. This is the eleventh time Nate Temple and his wacky crew have amused, bedevilled and amazed me.
I won't go into detail here.
Just know thatbyou should expect a dollop of tear jerking, a pinch of anger, some twists and a lot of turns. Nothing is ever as it seems. The paceis frenetic and then it speeds up.
Yes Nate is not prefect. But he's perfectly not perfect.

Nate has holes in his soul, and gaps in his memory, but that's standard fare when you have lived two lives, one in this world and one in Fae. The problem is that when echos of one life come into the other, it makes Nate go a little crazy. To unite the two halves of his soul, Nate is headed back to where this all began. Hopefully by facing his past, he will become more powerful in the present. Along the way, Nate finds clues and allies that were in front of him this whole time, and confrontations ...more

This book is amazing and startling in its revelations.

Legend lives up to it's title. Nate Temple at his best! There are many defining moments to the character of Nate Temple in Legend. The struggles he faces as well as the myriad of clues to who he is that he has unearthed in this story is mind boggling. This story takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and the strengthening of childhood bonds leaves you breathless and racing towards the finish line. The best story in this series yet!

There are lots of laughs, and alas, lots of tears. This one got all up in the feels. The surprises, oh my. My mind is blown, and can’t even begin to contemplate where it goes from here. There are a lot of errors in this book I was a bit surprised about. I’m also wanting some of the things to not drag out as much as some of them are. The next story, can only imagine. I can't get enough of this series! I started reading this series out of order because I read the Feathers and Fire series first and wanted to find out what was going on with Callie since the two series are connected. There's a lot going on in this book so keep your wits about you. Not one of my favourites of the series but I can kinda see why we needed to go there (you know, to Fae and all that). Lots of loose ends here and that is the trade mark of the Templeverse series, you never quite know where the author will go next. I would really love Callie to take up a bit more screen time in Nate's world, sigh a girl can dream.

Have to keep sneaking away to read this series!

The story is building into something so gripping that I am having to find jobs in the shed to get in reading time! I don't want to put the book down. Nate/Wylde is a hilarious, big hearted, smart, spoilt brat, what's not to love?! Thrown into multiple impossible scenarios all for a big plan that he has not been told about.
