He Will Do Anything…

Sallie Hamblen had three incredibly hot, sexy nights with Jacob Donovan, an undercover CIA agent, before he disappeared, leaving her broken hearted and forever yearning for the man she lost. Years later, Jacob doesn’t know that the beauty he’s about to seduce in a small town bar is the woman he held in his arms all those years ago… and that she’s on the

This is a Cowboy Romance, and this is the 2nd book in the Moving Violations series. I am lucky to receive an e-copy of this book from Netgalley, and I will post a review as soon as I finish reading it.

Loved the romance.
I was really looking forward to this story so I was happy I was able to get into it pretty quickly. The authors created a compelling read that was set up to add a little bit of intrigue to the story.

Something substantial happened in the past between these two characters and we get a little peeks into the event here and there. Sometimes it was a bit frustrating trying to piece together the entire story and it wasn’t until the end that much of it came together fo

Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martins Press for approving me for this ARC. I haven’t read a Cowboy book in quite a while. Though I loved Lora Leigh’s Breeds series so I thought I would try one out for a change. *RTC

Kyra Hamblen has been working undercover for the FBI since her military tour ended. Focusing on her job helps her forget the pain of the past. Kyra keeps to herself and is in no hurry to let her guard down--and does not expect to give away the key

Lora Leigh has always written some hot and steamy books and this one is no different.

Jacob and Sallie are drawn to each other like moths to a flame. She knows why and he doesn’t. That is part of the mystery trying to figure out why he can’t remember Sallie from their past. I’ll give you a little spoiler - he has a valid reason.

Sallie was definitely wise and mature for her age. I kept forgetting that she is only 24 in this book. Which is amazing, so many times our heroines are written to act yo

ARC received for review

Sallie has been in lust/love with Jacob for awhile. The stars align and they finally hook up, and boy to they hook up. That first night was hot, but they just get hotter after he realizes that one night wasn't enough. There's a bad guy from the past looking and causing trouble. Loved all his friends and cousins. (When Justice and Lynn finally stop snipping at each other and hook up, it's gonna be hotter than this book.)

Now why only four stars, the ending sucked. Yes there'

I like Lora's books, I dont find that they have crazy drama, I dont feel jittery wondering what the heck is coming next, however that being said when I see one of her books I tend to grab it because I know it will be an enjoyable book and not make me crazy or too sad, which right now I dont need. Wit these two main characters you felt the chemistry and you were good at going along the ride with them. I liked but I hated not getting an epilogue, I know I know can't ask for to much, but was it too ...more

Waited a long time for this book which had now been replaced by A Cowboy Like you by Donna Grant. Too bad this book sounded interesting but I'll go ahead and read the replacement and put up a review.

Second in the Moving Violations romantic suspense series and revolving around "Sallie Hamblen" and Jacob Donovan.

This eARC was sent to me by NetGalley and St Martin's Press for an honest review.

My Take
Leigh/Chadwick use third person dual protagonist point-of-view, so we get into both Sallie's and Jacob's heads with plenty of whining on Sallie's part. For his part, Jacob is obsessing about his attraction to Sally and wondering what he forgot all those years ago.

Action-wise, there is plenty of sex

Sloppy. This book was soooo sloppy.
It is highly repetitive and very scattered. It was going to be a DNF for me but I was like “no, give it a chance. It could get better.”.

It didn’t. This opens to 3 years after Sallie and Jacob initially met. Sallie is wondering if she was truly unforgettable to Jacob because he is all that she’s been thinking of. It was very hard to follow and had me wondering if something was missing. It was sooo rushed and I didn’t feel any sort of connection with the two char
I haven’t read Lora Leigh in quite some time and was happy to be provided an opportunity to read this book entitled “Strong, Silent Cowboy. Although the story was an enjoyable read, I did have difficulty following along as it did become repetitive in some areas. The story could have been developed a bit more specifically with regards to Sallie’s reasoning for why she ran that linked back to Jacob and the history between them. Sallie was on the run from her past, but the story did not spell out m ...more

Strong, Silent Cowboy by Lora Leigh is the second book in her Moving Violations series I did read the first book One Tough Cowboy however this one can be read as a stand alone. First off: You'll definitely need a really BIG fan because this is a very hot book with a cowboy and a sassy lady but as the story goes on they have a

If you’re looking for a story that’s heavier on steam and less on plot then this will make a great read. For me, I would have like to have seen more substance to the story rather than the overpowering sex scenes. Some of it was over the top and repetitive and it just made an unbalanced story for me. I ended up skimming a lot of the scenes. I’m all for some great sexy scenes but when it overtakes the storyline, I lose interest altogether. I also would have liked for there to have been more on the ...more

What a fitting tribute to the late author Veronica Chadwick. I loved this series from the first book, who doesn't love a hunky cowboy, but the series always contained so much heart, and this continues strongly in the 2nd book.

Sallie has been fleeing from an unknown assailant for years now. Her step-father finally sent her to a small town to hide out amongst cowboys. She made an impact on Jacob Donovan on her arrival but she has always been "frosty" towards him although perfectly pleasant. That m

Strong, Silent Cowboy is for me a difficult book to review, in the main it was entertaining enough but let down by being at least 75% sex scenes and part thriller.
Sallie met Jacob in Switzerland when she was 18 and they spent a passionate weekend together, he left her bed telling her he’d be back but never returned. Fast forward 3 years and Sallie is living in a town under a different name running from a stalker convinced she has information on the where abouts of someone he’s looking for. Enter

Wow, Strong, Silent Cowboy by Lora Leigh and Veronica Chadwick was the wrong title for this novel. Jacob Donavan is anything but silent...strong, yes, but silent, no. He was also an obnoxious, overbearing, rude jerk who was very domineering in the bedroom. Sallie Hamblen, who was the woman he "marked as his own" by leaving hickies all over neck after he picked her up in a bar, so everyone would know she was his was a pushover, a doormat who had slept with Jacob 6 years before. The H & h meet when she is in Switzerland with her ambassador stepfather & mother, while he, a CIA agent, is undercover on an assignment. They hook up and spend the weekend together in bed (putting it mildly) but thereafter he disappears without a word leaving her heartbroken and thinking that the connection she felt they had, had been one-sided.

After a failed marriage and finding herself being targeted for reasons unknown, Kyra is forced to live on the run, moving from place to place & changing

WOW!!! Strong, Silent Cowboy written by Lora Leigh and Veronica Chadwick had me hooked from the very first chapter. The one thing that did make me sad was how it ended. I felt that we needed something more unless there will be another book coming after, which I hope there will be.

I felt this book took me on an emotional ride throughout which is what I want from a book. I felt everything that both Sallie and Jacob felt. I hated that Sallie was on the run until she finally found a safe place to la

Strong, Silent Cowboy is a lustful romp of romantic suspense. Sallie Hamblen is on the run for her life. Her husband disappeared after serving her with annulment papers and then someone tries to kill her. Using her stepdad's money, Sallie disappears to a small town only to discover the man she lost her virginity to is a local rancher. With embarrassment, Sallie discovers Jacob does not remember her at all when he is all she thinks about. Years, later Sallie finally succumbs to Jacob's charms onc ...more

Right from the very beginning my heart was already invested in Sallie’s story. My heart just broke for her when she realizes that Jacob does not remember her after three days of the most memorable nights of her life and then three years going by with her basically trying to stay away from him. Jacob has noticed her around after their “first” introduction 3 years before, there is something about her that he recognizes but could not quite grasp from where. Now they are in the same bar and Jacob de ...more

Sallie is running from her past and longing for the man she spent three wonderful nights with six years ago. One day that man, Jacob, walks into the store she manages but doesn't remember Sallie, yet sparks fly!

I read Lora Leigh before and was intrigued by her partnership with Veronica Chadwick, who I've never heard anything about. I wanted to like this book but I thought it was awful. When I was 30% into the book, there was yet another drawn out, ridiculous sex scene and little story. The writ

Strong, Silent Cowboy is a magnificent romantic suspense by Lora Leigh and Veronica Chadwick. Team Leigh/Chadwick has provided readers with a well-written book and furnished it with a spectacular cast of characters. Sallie was on the run and hiding in Deer Haven. When she meets Jacob she's stunned that he doesn't recognize her and he has a different name from three years ago, but then, so does she. Jacob and Sallie's story is packed with drama, humor, smokin' hot sexy bits, action and suspense. ...more

Wow. I was grabbed from the first pages, my heart was wrenched around and twisted, and then I had to wait for all of Sallie’s/Kyra’s secrets to come out, right alongside Jacob’s. She’s terrified and broken-hearted, he’s drawn to the woman no one seems to be able to nail down, and then the trouble starts. We’re taken on a ride full of revealed secrets, mystery upon mystery, and the ultimate heartbreak for Sallie before all is said and done. Hawt read... Wow... Authors are known for their scorching reads but really love the alpha male in this book... Jacob. Wowsa!

What did I like? This book from the first chapter just sucked me in... Kyra meets the hot man she spent a weekend burning sheets with and he doesn’t remember her. What? So obviously book starts with that elephant in the room feeling but then they start throwing off sparks... I’m grabbing popcorn just waiting for flames. Kyra and Jacob were a phenomenal couple!

A kaleidoscope of lost memories gnaws at his subconscious.

I received a complimentary copy of Strong, Silent Cowboy in exchange for an honest review. Overall, this was a great story with lots of drama, suspense, romance, and everything in between. I even found a few of the plot twists to be creative and well implemented.

Hopefully, this version of the book will go to editing one more time before it hits stores. There were a lot of editing errors especially in the beginning which was distracting. I also thought the storyline about Jacob's lack of recogni

An entertaining, light-hearted read. I was completely surprised to find out this was book two in a series, as they never interacted with another couple in this story. To find that the Sheriff had a previous book when he was only mentioned and never present made me think more of it being two standalone novels set in the same town, but this is from the perspective on not having read the first novel.

Sallie and Jacob were great characters and their love story was good but I didn't really believe th
