Sexy Russian with complicated past falls for simple divorcee

The Hero, Ilya Dragonavich, is a bit hard to quantify easily. He is basically a Mafia hitman who has been adopted into the family he is currently in, but his real family is much more complicated. Either way, he is sexy as all get out and he sees this simple woman jus in the process of going through a bad divorce and he decides to help her out so she doesn’t lose her home to her deadbeat ex.

When Ilya gets to know Emma Jane Preston a bit

Humans in this world are not alone...and if we take this idea...we can follow this to past generations which become legends...All cultures have families which go back in time and have had an impact on the world. Lora Leigh has created a world which follows this concept and Lethal Nights (Brute Force #3) lives in it. The feeling of more than just a love story is powerful and I was caught up in it from the start.

Ilya and Emma Jane were hot from page one. There was just so many people coming in that I had no idea who they were or what the point was to them being in the story. That kind of reminded me of book one. The bad guy was pure nasty. Then the ending just left a lot to be desired.

My review will be live on donnasbookblog on 24th September 2019 - publication day!

I have read a few books by this author and she always writes an excellent story and this one was no different!!

I thought it was well planned out and I loved the attention to detail throughout the book.

The plot was addictive and I couldn't put it down, it had me completely hooked!! The character were well developed too and worked really well with the plot, they were perfectly developed for the storyline!

Lethal Nights is a terrible title that doesn't describe any part of Ilya and Emma Jane's story. The Dragon's Mate would be better. Or more accurate, The Dragon Gang Heir Whose Tattoo and Blood Sing To Its Mate. And if you can figure out that title, then you can make sense of this convoluted, histrionic tale of a bad guy who refuses to be with the good girl he lusts for because of the assassins his mom sent after her. A classic boy meets girl tale, if you will, except the boy has a dragon tattooe ...more

Love a stoic and alpha man? Look no further than Ilya Dragonovich. The bastard son of the infamous Dragon, Ilya should have been treasured as the only son of the Dragon. Instead, he's been treated in the worst of ways as a child. The horrific acts perpetrated on a child ten and under are pure evil. Each of these acts were encouraged by his birth mother. This is unfathomable to me. How can a mother treat their child so horribly? Or encourage such body scarification? She should be drawn and quarte ...more

I am a fan of romance and Lora Leigh. I prefer my romance stories to have a strong story line with romance intertwined. There was plenty of romance here but not much story. The story starts off with Emma Jane because of her failed marriage and is about to lose her house. For some reason, she needs a sophisticated security system. The reason is not really explained and she has a ton of over-protective males all around her, her father, brother, childhood friend who is also conveniently the sheriff ...more

•I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.•

Lora Leigh is a favorite author of mine.
I have read the other books in this series awhile ago. This book can be read as a stand-alone.

Emma Jane is a strong woman who has been put through the ringer for sure. She is just coming out of a divorce with a selfish a**hole. She has been emotionally abused by him and maybe even physically abused. She is trying t

    Can you say SIZZLE?

This book grabbed me within the first couple of pages and kept me going until the end!!

Ilya never knew a normal childhood, it was filled with hatred from his mother and violence. In order to survive, he had to be violent.

Emma Jane had the perfect family life with a family that love and respect her. She is now going through a divorce and because of her childish ex, she could lose the home she loves.

Emma Jane is presented with the opportunity for her home to become a safe home
    Jennifer Stanley
I felt that the beginning was a little slow. I had to go back and reread the previous book to see if Emma Jane was featured and I somehow forgot her. But then that just added to the mystery of Illya, as I just thought of him as Ivan's good friend. As I read more about him, I became intrigued by this mysterious, ruthless, driven man who has the capacity to love so deeply.

Once the action started in the story, it didn't seem to stop. Something was always happening that kept my invested in Emma Jane

Lethal Nights, book #3 in Lora Leigh, A Brute Force series. This was bar none the best book I read this year; with us only halfway through 2019.  Lethal Nigh a fast pace read, with lots of suspense and action to keep any reader entertained. I love the two main characters of this book.

Ilya, aka the Dragon Heir, has been in shadows a long time. He and Ivan fought through fire together, surviving against odds most other men would crumble against. This is Book 3 in the Brute Force series. Even though this is a series, you can read this book as a stand-alone book and have no problems understanding what’s going on. I thought this was a great story! Ilya Dragonovich has helped Emma Jane save her home. Dragon expects Emma Jane to be scared of him but she shows him that that is the last emotion that he will get from her. There’s no way that she’s going to be scared of him. Lethal Nights book 3 in the Brute Force series is fast paced, full of suspense, drama and a whole lot of steam. From the first moment Ilya sees Emma Jane, he knew automatically what she would mean to him, he was intensely attracted to her and already feeling possessive. Emma Jane was in the process of divorcing her no good, selfish and immature husband and since still technically married, would not act on their mutual attraction. He leaves her for her own good, but when she is placed in danger, ...more

DNF. It really pains me when this happens, especially since it is from an Author I am a huge fan of and getting the book through NetGalley to boot, but when a book feels like a chore instead of an escape than its time to quit. I was struggling right from the beginning and falling asleep in the middle of some action scenes is never a good sign, especially since I generally read way past my bedtime. The blurb sounded promising but once I started to read it felt to me as if another Author wrote thi ...more

I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher for my honest review. Another great one by this author as she continues the Brute Force series with Ilya’s story. He is the son of a dragon (no this is not a paranormal romance) from his gypsy heritage and the large dragon tattooed on his face. It’s been foretold that the dragon knows when it meets his mate and while he was interested in Emma Jane at first sight he didn’t think it was love, an emotion that hard been beat out of ...more

Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.

This book is part of a series but it's not necessary to read in order but maybe for characterization. I didn't read the first two books in this series but it may have helped to get to know all the characters.

Ilya Dragonovich helps rescue Emma Jane Preston from house foreclosure, by using her home as a safe house. Now he wants more than to help her, when he realizes she might be in danger because she is his mate. Emma Jane

I am a huge Lora Leigh fan and was very excited to read this book. After reading it I realized this is the third book in the series. I will definitely be finding the other two books to read, even though I will be reading them out of order. The storyline of the Dragon is so intriguing and I loved every single character, well except for Iliya's mother and everyone who hurt Iliya.

If you've read Lora Leigh's books, then you already know how steamy her love scenes are. And this book is no exception!

Sexy and hot, with a bit of spice that fans of the genre will enjoy. I found the first third of the novel somewhat confusing and a bit off putting. Because it was so convoluted, it was hard to connect with the characters or feel invested in their story. By the halfway point, this had changed and I was totally engrossed in this book and flipping pages just as quickly as possible.

So, 5 stars for the last half of the book. I found myself loving the characters and invested in their story. What felt

This was one powerful book. It kept me engaged, intrigued and delighted. Emma Jane first met Ilya at a job fair. He knew she was sad, but was called to her. He knew she was his dragon mate. After an attempt on her life, he could deny her no longer, though he did try. I was horrified by the way young Ilya was treated and how Emma Jane's ex made fun of her for her love of romantic and erotic books. The story had mystery, some great love scenes and a very satisfied Emma Jane. The Dragon Song in the ...more
