Mirror Bound was a magical read. It really was. If I hadn’t loved the first book so much this would probably be a five star review, but I think the first book gave me very high expectations. Seventh Born was a 5 star plus for me. I loved every second.

Mirror Bound has all the ingredients to make another pulse racing read. The seventh born are the key to the story and Sera is on track to get everything she wants.

The mystery is spine chilling and kept me guessing at every turn.

I like this book I

Having been expelled from the Academy at the end of the last book, Sera is now living at Barrington’s home, studying under his tutelage and continuing to work as his assistant. Sera is now almost ready for the examinations for entry to the Aetherium, and encounters continuing anti-seventh-born discrimination and antipathy as she tries to gather all the necessary references and documents required.
Meanwhile, grieving father, Delacourt, and best-friend, Whittaker, are convinced that Sera killed Ti

10 stars out of 5. Extraordinary sequel!

It has been absolutely lovely to be back in the magical world of Seraphina Dovetail and Professor Barrington, as well as the magical community in which they live. The story picks up some months after the events of the series opener. It is a pleasure to see the growth in Sera’s abilities, advancement of her training, and how well she and Barrington work together.

Author Monica Sanz is quite skilled at crafting words; driving the plot forward at a steady pac

Mirror Bound is a sequel, but I didn't realize this until after I started reading it. I do think reading the first book would have been helpful for background information. Sera is a seventh born witch with very few allies, and trouble seems to follow her. She wants to know about her past, but she also must pass important exams, all the while working magical cases

Received in exchange for a honest review.

This picks up where the first left off. You do need to read the first to understand this one because there are references to the past incidents that you need to know about to help put all happening in this book in context.

Favorite character: Barrington. Love him. He is patient and kind. He doesn’t think much of himself and as he learns about his brother it kills him on the inside.. He sacrifices alot for Seraphina in this book and he changes. He is still

Oh my!! This book was so much better than the first where the multitude of mysteries unfolding in the pages had me gasping with joy. The story pulled me from all angles. The chemistry between the lead characters had me wincing with the muted passion that was shown.

Sera was now living with Professor Barrington after being expelled from the Witchling School. Her training under the tutelage of the professor advanced in leaps and bounds. Anger no longer controlled her but guided her with perceptive

Loving this series. Sera and Barrington are both dealing with inner demons. Their work relationship and personal one are starting to merge together. While a lot of the focus was on Sera and her exams the mystery part of it was interesting. I wish there would be more about the background of the evil item/person. Action packed and story was well paced. Ended well with no real cliffhanger but open for the next book.

Mirror Bound starts right after Seventhborn ended and I loved going back to Sera and Barrignton.

This book might have been less angsty than the first one, but I loved seeing Sera and Barrington's relationship grow and evolve. I also loved learning more about them and get to know new characters.

After we were introduced to Sera and Barrigton on the first book and they started their dynamics I couldn't wait to read the sequel, because I was left wan

Mirror Bound is the sequel to Seventh Born, and if I were to compare the sequel to the first book of the series, I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t as good as the first one. Seventh Born was a fast-paced story, as was Mirror Bound. The difference is Mirror Bound dragged in some parts, while Seventh Born flowed at a steady pace. I know this sounds like I didn’t enjoy the book; the pacing of the book in certain spots is my only complaint. Watching Sera grow was fantastic and intriguing. I truly enjoyed g ...more

I absolutely love this story and am so freaking sad that there isn't a third one planned. 😭

The first one was really great and I've read it a while ago. Also after being in a few recent reading slumps I wasn't sure that the second one would get me out of my reading slump and fully excite me. But as I was suddenly in the mood for a mystery and some superstitious powers of course never missing my all time favorite ' a brooding love story' I finally picked it up. 😊
It didn't take me long to get right

I would like to thank Entangled Publishing and the Netgalley website for allowing me to read this book and I still got fooled I was thinking of an independent book and I see that it is the second in the series: "The Witchling Academy" which makes me want to read the prequel even more.

It features Seraphina who is the seventh daughter of a witch. She feels isolated following the loss of her powers and the loss of her mother.

A young professor brings her to his house to hire her in his moonlighting

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the YA Bound Book Tours. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Mirror Bound by Monica Sanz is the second book to this interesting series. We follow Seraphina trying to get into the continuing school so she can become an inspector, dealing with her feelings for Nikolai, and still taking on cases with him. Well, until a particular case that he doesn't want to take presents itself.
Are the secrets in the mirror?

This novel was an enjoyable read and continues the story of Seraphina Dovetail, whom is trying to discover her family, become an inspector, and keeping ghosts away from her. As a seventhborn, she is treated unfairly and has very few allies, one being Professor Nikolai Barrington. Sera became his assistant and has been helping him with cases. 3.75/5 stars.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as I did Seventh Born. I absolutely loved the first book, so I was really looking forward to this one. Unfortunately, this just didn't hit me right. A lot of it felt predictable to me, especially the climax near the end. For most of this book I was teetering between loving it and finding it "meh". The beginning just didn't draw me in, so it took a lot of buildup for me to become invested in Sera all over again. I do love how Sera and Barrington both g

I really loved Mirror Bound!

But let’s start from the beginning and I need to tell you that Mirror Bound is actually book 2 of The Witchling Academy series. To be honest, I have not heard of it before but I was lucky to be given access to both books and be able to offer you a more in depth review.

The series starts with Seventh Born in a world where withches are the norm and there is a strong held belief surronding the birth of the seventh born girl of a witch. Let’s me tell you it is all about ra

Mirror Bound is a great sequel with magical moments and mesmerizing characters. It’s a sequel that is just as good as the first book, if not better. Sera’s growth in this book is fantastic; she doesn’t just grow as a person, but also grows in using and understanding her magic. It was really nice to see that growth in her character.

Sera is not only struggling with her growing feelings for Barrington and acing her School of Continuing Magic exam, but she’s fighting to maintain control over her min

Mirror Bound is the second book in The Witchling Academy series. When I originally read Seventh Born I was not sure if I would enjoy it but luckily that was not the case. When given the chance to review book 2 I jumped at the chance. I could not wait to dive into this world again.

All Seraphina wants is to be a inspector, but she has to be accepted to take the exam and people are working to keep that from happening. Thankfully she has allies that are on her side, but its still a journey.

It's been a little over a year since I read SEVENTH BORN, and I was scared that I wouldn't remember the story well enough to really enjoy MIRROR BOUND. Thankfully it all came back to me as I started reading.

Exciting. Mysterious. Bewitching..

This amazing new voice in the fantasy genre and her exciting debut series have me truly captivated – perfect for fans of Delaney’s Spook’s Apprentice series and Sage’s Septimus Heap series –

This series chronicles the journey of one powerful and mysterious seventhborn witch apprentice and  investigator-in-training with more locked secrets and scars than she has years and her brilliant, daring, damaged rogue  of a genius alchemy professor/wizard mentor...

Perfect for the Halloween season, Mirror Bound is a fantasy story that will bring all the magic! Especially with that cover!!

This is the first time in reading this author with her story intriguing me. It had me as soon as it said seventh born which has always intrigued me. This is also in a genre I do not find often anymore that can pick my interest unless they are a go to author.
This story turned out to be very refreshing with many aspects to it to keep a reader engaged. Seraphina story unravels so that right away we have to see where this goes. It has a favorite elements besides the elements a detective agency. Bar
