**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: https://bookbriefs.net**The Dragon of New Orleans is the first in the adult fantasy series, The Treasure of Paragon, by author Genevieve Jack. I enjoyed this book, and I think I will likely continue on with the series, but it didn't blow me away like I was hoping it would. It is no secret that I love fantasy books, and I have been very into dragon tropes for the past 6 months or so. The Dragon of New Orleans was a good book and there were m ...more

Raven is dying from cancer – and her time is almost up when Gabriel visits her hospital room and pulls a tooth from his mouth and has a dying Raven swallow it – unknowingly bonding herself to a dragon. When she starts getting miraculously better, she thinks it was a dream. When he requests that she work for him, she agrees to help him.

I loved this romance and I loved Gabriel and Raven. The romance burns slowly, and the suspense on if Raven can help save Gabriel will keep you glued to the pages.

Magic, adventure, and romance fly off the pages of The Dragon of New Orleans! Gripping from the very first page the action is almost nonstop in this book. I was wrapped up in a world full of dragons, witches, and falling absolutely in love with every bit of it. There was just so much to this book. So much emotion. So much suspense. So much love. It truly is magical!

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review. This is the first book in a series and the first book I've read by Genevieve Jack. I love dragon shifter books, and this is a great entry into that particular sub-genre. This was a really good, entertaining, edge of your seat read. I really liked Gabriel and Raven. I loved seeing them interact with each other, and seeing Raven learn about her bloodline. I was in her corner the entire time. There was also a cool plot twist I wasn't really expec ...more

What a fabulous start to this new series! Raven is a great heroine; tough, plucky, funny, and brave. Her voice is so strong, right from the first page, that you root for her immediately. Gabriel is a grouchy, heart-stoppingly hot hero, and his transformation from gruff, secretive loner to protective partner is a delight to read. Even if you don't usually read paranormal romance, I highly recommend you give this one a try. You'll be hooked! Bravo, Ms. Jack!

I am a huge fan of paranormal romance and anything that deals with mythic creatures, ESPECIALLY dragons. So when I saw the blurb for The Dragon of New Orleans I was immediately intrigued/wanted to read it and I was NOT disappointed! The Dragon of New Orleans tells the story of Gabriel, a paranormal being who was cursed by a voodoo Queen to do his bidding. Oh and if you haven’t already realized by the title…he’s also a dragon. Enter the heroine of this book Raven, a woman who sadly has cancer and ...more

This is a new author to me and I want more!! She has such a way about her writing that just makes you feel like you are there and living through the characters. She had such a delicious cover model on her cover that I was instantly drawn to the book. Gabriel is racing against the clock to break his curse set on him by the voodoo priestess of New Orleans. Ravenna is dying from brain cancer and in her final days she is visited by what she perceives as “Death” but it is really Gabriel. He gives he ...more

I do like read a good paranormal romance, and this is a good paranormal romance. I absolutely love dragons. This is book one in a new series, but can be read as a standalone. Now I got that out of the way, and we are introduced to Raven who was suffering from brain cancer and the end was near and she wanted to die she had enough. When a man visit who she thinks is death, but instead offers her life.

The Dragon of New Orleans was recommended to me by Suzan Tisdale. Though it is not a genre I normally read, holy cow what a beautifully written story! I am completely taken with the world Genevieve Jack has created. She has an innate ability to make the reader feel what the characters feel, to smell the aromas and see this incredible world through their eyes. I can't wait to get the next book! You've got me hook, line and sinker.

The Dragon of New Orleans is a compelling story of love over coming all obstacles. The characters are colorful and easy to relate to, tragedy loves company in this whirlwind of an adventure through New Orleans. I really enjoyed the story between Gabriel and Raven, I just couldn't put the book down, their story just kept me at the edge of my seat. I highly recommend this read.

Gabriel is a dragon shifter and has had to keep to himself but now everything is threatened .
Raven is dying of cancer and feels so trapped then along comes Gabriel and he heals her but then binds them together and she feels trapped again , These two are so perfect for each other but the fight is there , I really did enjoy this book and look forward to the next one in this series!!!

Amazingly written with a phenomenal storyline

In true Genevieve Jack style this Dragon series is phenomenal already. Weaving a story that will cross over to the next book and intertwining characters and family members made me a huge fan of her previous books. This one did not disappoint and I am anxiously waiting for the next one. Steamy, erotic, pulse pounding and edge of my seat action kept me entranced in this book. Loved it!

The Dragon of New Orleans is so good. I love paranormal fantasy books and this one was right up my alley. Gabriel is racing against the clock to break a curse. Ravenna is suffering in the end stages of her fight with cancer. Fate brings these two together to find a cure for Gabriel’s plight. Now bonded, Raven finds she is not who she thought she was, but so much more. Banding together, Gabriel and Raven fight against paranormal forces to break the curse that can destroy them all.

All I can say is "wow." The author's complete mastery of this story, this world, the characters, the magic, this setting is impressive. Her carefully chosen words gave me full visual imagery to "watch" the story unfold. The imagination that created this story is immense and creative, and the book is a masterpiece of paranormal romance. Fans of Genevieve Jack's, as well as the genre as a whole, will fall in love with this Book One of an exciting new series.

I have to admit that I did not fully read the synopsis of this book; I think I skimmed the synopsis back when I first saw it advertised. So, by the time I finished the second chapter, I was really excited by this book. I could tell that the storyline was going to be unlike anything I had read and I couldn't wait to learn more about the MCs, especially Gabriel's backstory. I fully expected to fall completely head over heels in love with this book, but that didn't happen. As the book progressed, I ...more

I liked the premise of this book; Raven, a young woman dying of cancer saved by Gabriel, a dragon masquerading as a man whose life is being threatened by an evil witch. Raven is not your typical human being and Gabriel knows she will help save his life. The two quickly fall in love and go on a series of adventures that takes them from New Orleans into another realm – Paragon a land of dragons and Gabriel’s home. Both Raven’s and Gabriel’s backstory is very interesting (Raven is a descendant of t ...more

A dragon and a curse in colorful New Orleans. Did I mention a dragon? This first book in the series is packed full of supernatural creatures, romance, suspense, adventure, and magic.
