Invasion of the squirrels and a Sasquatch Brew Master.
Shady Grove has always attracted the strangest critters, but Grace and crew aren't prepared for the supernatural invasion of giant squirrels that take over much of the town. These furry varmints wreak havoc, unsettling the fairy population of the town.
Grace and Levi must find a way to rehome the nuisances before the town revolts. Plus, a mysterious creature lurks in the woods leaving giant footprints and empty beer bottles. Littering is one thing, but Yeti sightings in Alabama aren't normal.
Will Grace and Levi ever get a little bit of alone time? Who sent the pesky squirrels to Shady Grove? Is the Yeti lurking in the woods friend or foe?
Find out in Book 11 of the Fairy Tales of a Trailer Park Queen. Coming Feb 5th, 2019.
From early in life Kimbra Swain was indoctrinated in the ways of geekdom. Raised on Star Wars, Tolkien, Superheroes and Voltron, she found herself immersed in a world of imagination. She started writing in high school, and completed her English degree from the University of Alabama in 2003. Her writing is influenced by a gamut of authors including Jane Austen, J.R.R. Tolkien, L.M. Montgomery, Timothy Zahn, Kathy Reichs, Kevin Hearne and Jim Butcher. Born and raised in Alabama, Kimbra still lives there with her husband and 5 year old daughter. When she isn't reading or writing, she plays PC games, makes jewelry and builds cars.

Bright-Eyed and Bushy-Tailed is LIVE!!! Hope you enjoy this fun romp with a plague of squirrels, a beer-brewing yeti, and a whole lotta gravy!!! readerlinks.com/l/504170
This is a very interesting series about magic, magical spells, kingdoms and creatures. Grace is the Queen of the fairy world of Winter but resides with the outcasts in Shady Grove-where all outcasts are welcome. She is trying to build a different kind of kingdom not based on cruelty and caprice but rather working together as a group. While they are getting ready for a war with the winter kingdom they have an invasion of large squirrels just to keep them on their toes. Seems a bit silly but it works as a distraction to hinder their progress in preparations for battle. Levi the magical bard, Lancelot, of the days King Arther and his knights, werewolves, and a Yeti, sirens, and magical beings of all kinds. A fun story and series. I have to admire someone that can create a whole world in their imagination and put it down in writing!
I’m thoroughly invested and sucked into the trailerverse. The past 10 books have been a constant up and down between bad guys, struggles, life, death, rebirth, destruction, love and chaos. Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed came back to the mirth and humor than made me fall in love with this series. It was light hearted and fun, but that doesn’t mean it was without its bombs. Instead of being “action packed” like previous books the reader got a HUGE info dump. If you’ve read the books from Bless Your Heart to now, you know without a doubt that Kimbra Swain is a master at weaving her story. It’s a puzzle she gives the reader bits and pieces of, sometimes so slyly you miss it. Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed she put in BIG BOLD LETTERS some of the bigger pieces that fit into the puzzle that is Grace and Levi’s destiny. I had a huge realization that things are going to get a LOT heavier than I have ever anticipated and that this was the big breath before the wave. I loved BEBT, It has everything I’d been hoping to see as well as meeting some new characters I’m absolutely adoring. I’m nervous to see how things play out. The storm is coming, and I don’t think we are ready for it.
I wanted to give this a 3.5, but obviously there isn't a way to and j couldn't justify giving it a 4. This is a good in between story before the rest of the series continues because ethere really isn't much going on and the big nuisance they have to remove from the town is easily fixed at the end. There were some proofreading errors in this story that really messed up the flow and that is always bad especially when you have to read it a couple times. The author mixed up Riley and Wendy at one point in the story. Another thing is that it's been awhile since the last story came out so I had to refamiliarize myself with the characters and thank goodness she had the character descriptions at the end otherwise I would have been a little out of sorts since there are so many supporting characters. Lastly without giving any spoilers, Stephanie's part in the book just seemed too easy and if it was so easy why did we have to wait until now for it to happen. This could have been a novella instead of a whole story but it's a decent read.
This book is actually closer to the 3.5 stars mark for me. Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed is a lot lighter than the books we’ve seen since SFSE. It was a much needed light book for me. The humor was light and fluffy enough that I truly needed it even though I didn’t realize it was what I needed. I’ve been putting off reading the book, because I just wasn’t ready for something heavy and sad. I’m glad this wasn’t it. Life has moved on for those in Shady Grove, it was a sad and tragic event, but life goes on. I needed Grace to stop being so sad, and Levi to chill on the brooding. I’m glad we find out Grace’s story on why she was exiled from Winter in the beginning.
The squirrels are an interesting type of villain, very light. Nothing dramatic other than finding out why.
Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed is a perfect filler book for the battle coming ahead in Shady Grove.
This book and its connecting series has taken my life by storm...and not just the icey snow laced wind or hordes of tiny furry bodies kinds of storms!! These characters took over my heart an just set up camp. Kimbra writes with a skill and talent that sadly lacks in so many books now days. She weaves a story thats seemless, unique, heartfeltb laugh at loud and so intriguing that you wont be able to walk away!! Grace and her town of sweet southren sass an charm will not let you down that i can promise. Kimbra writes for her characters to be able live not to sell pages, that passion comes through stunningly clear in all of her novels!! Give this series a chance an I promise you will be hooked on moonshine, orange soda and southern hospitality for the rest of your days!!
As always, I love the way that Kimbra allows the story to evolve. Squirrels... no big deal... Oh wait. Squirrels sent from Summer to wreak havoc... Problem! A Yeti in the woods drinking beer... no problem as long as he's not hurting anyone, but we need to find him so he stops leaving trash all over. Wait... He and his beer are going to save us from the squirrels. Levi... I love you, but we can't find time to swap gravy... a date? sure... Biscuits and gravy... too funny. Then the distraction of having to stop and meet with the ladies in the salon. Then FINALLY... some swapping gravy... Can't wait to see what happens next as I just love this series and all the characters in Shady Grove!

Aptly named, Kimbra successfully created another layer of mystery.
Layers of interest in Shady Grove’s appealing saga are building like the Taj Mahal. Squirrels are usually not easy to keep in an area. They are little “Rolling Stones” just rambling to and fro. These particular rodents are instruments of chaos and destruction unparalleled in the world outside of the Trailer Park. The story of olden times continues to be reduced to writing in between the demands of being Queen and protecting the veil separating the OtherWorld and Shady Grove. When will the history be completely recorded and life begin to move forward again?
An absolute trip. How does one get rid of a supernatural squirrel invasion? Pirates! Well, maybe not. Add Yeti sightings that eventually inspire a comedy routine. All of this distracts from preparations for war against Uncle Brock, but at least there aren't any more problems in Shady Grove. Oh, wait. The realization is that they can't handle other real world problems until the Winter Realm is handled. And then there's Stephanie, sitting in jail wearing a helmet for her safety. Hilariously nuts and enjoyable.
*Just when you think it will never happen...Bam! Swapping gravy! Grace and the Trailerverse are so wonderful I got my husband reading this series! I recommend it all my bookish friends and family. This series is everything you could want all wrapped up under a fantastic cover. This particular book has bushy tailed invaders and much more distrubing life in Shady Grove, as well as a bit of gravy swapping that you just can't wait to read about. You don't have to start at book one but once You start you wont be able to stop.
This book felt a little thin compared to the other books in the series. The problem really did not have much of a confrontation and the remedy turned into something quite simple. The longer helm story about the veil possibly being broken was solved in this book with little fanfare. It was a problem that they took so long to find a solution and were very careful about, and then all of a sudden easy fix. It seemed like it was too easy for all the build up. It was a sweet fun story, but maybe it should have been a 10.5 in the series.
As a lover of fairy tales and happy endings, this book was the best book yet. I loved the build up, the magic, and the deep commitment between Grace and Levi. While Grace is strong and sassy, it's her heart that draws me to get. She is loyal and fierce when it comes to protecting all around her. She needs a strong protector and she fights for her happy ending. This book is also very funny from beginning to end.
Fairys, swashbuckling brownies, Sasquatch and wolves. WOW.
Fun heartfelt and lighthearted. It hits all the feels. This series builds into such an intricate story. I love that Kimbra doesn’t take the easy or obvious twist and turns. Each character is very well thought out. Grace is, as always, an amazing, strong, fun and serious woman. Queen, lover, mom and Fae. Love this series.
I love the continuation of the story line about Grace and Levi and the whole cast of characters in Shady Grove Alabama.
In this part there is an invasion of critters in every house in town, not to mention there’s been a siting of a yeti drinking beer!
What happens, well Grace calls her knights to decide on a course of action. There is also the happenings of all the pregnant ladies in town. So much going on and so much to get done! A great read!
I keep feeling like I missed a book or novel between fuller than a tick and Bright eyed and bushy tailed. It a short novel maybe? where was christmas and what happened in vegas? Amazon didn't have a book 10.5 linked that I could find. I just had a hard time getting immersed in this book because of so much missing info and who was the man that showed up towards the end of the book who had something to do with vegas and working for Remington ??
I really enjoyed the majority of this outing for Grace. The character development was absolutely spot on and its great to see long term relationships grow to fruition.
My only gripe is that the main plot felt more like a side plot and resolved very quickly without much consequence. Almost blink and you'll miss it.
That being said - some bread laugh out loud moments and a bit of a different direction from the rest of the series
Finally, Levi and Grace might get their moment. Everything just keeps interrupting them, squirrels overtake the town, a yeti is on the loose an Troy and Amanda's babies come. They try to find some alone time to no avail. They deal with the babies, squirrels , a yeti and finally, Stephanie, to get some time alone.
This was a good story, tells a lot of how life can get in the way sometimes. I highly recommend this story and series. Off to read the next book.
I was sold on this series from the first. This book does not disappoint. Who doesn't love squirrels as protagonists??!! I mean ... SQUIRRELS! Thank heavens, however, for Cast of Characters section. After 10 books, it is to be expected that the Trailerverse has expanded to include tons of extra folks, but I would have had trouble keeping up without a little help.
Kimbra Swain did it again!! From the first book she sucked me in with this magical story. Grace and Levi are what true love is all about. I'm sad but excited to see how this will all end but I know with Winnie and Nicks stories we will still be able to stay in Shady Grove!!!!
Another fun ride from Kimbra Swain. All your favorite southern supernatural people are back at it again. New developments, some gravy, a mess of squirrels, and a micro-brew. The winter Queen lives in Alabama ..... and the crazy is just getting started.
Another awesome installment in my favorite Trailer Park Queen’s life. This one was more lighthearted than some of the others with many laugh out loud moments! A few grim points of backstory revelation, but overall an upbeat story. What a great read!
Oh Grace, how I love you. Such an independent, beautiful fairy with just the right amount of sass. And finally, you got laid! Brilliant story, wonderful characters and written by a beautiful author. Bring on book 12!..... Like now Kimbra, I'm waiting...
How are Grace and Levi going to protect the town from a swarm of squirrels? How much coffee does one fairy queen really need? Where did this yeti come from? These and many other important questions are answered in this selection.
I look forward to each new grace book and this one does not disappoint. Kimbra brings grace, her friends and family to life and you root for them to continue in their story.
Larger than normal havoc-wrecking squirrels! How funny to have a story with them causing so much damage. Real life issues here folks. I enjoyed this installment. The more I read Swain's books, the more I fall in love with Cletus and Tator. Those two are a hoot!!
Not so dark this time and you just have to love How the characters are growing . Levi never disappoints and maybe one day we will see his full potential as he keeps his queen in check.
I know I needed more light and laughter, this book delivered. While the war is coming, people needed to be reminded of what they were fighting for. I can't wait for the next installment.
I came across this series completely by chance and read all 12 books in like three days. I love the depth of the characters and the twists/turns of known legends and fairytales being told in a different way. I can't wait to read more about Grace and Levi.
