Savannah Jezowski is an author I only discovered quite recently, and the first novel I read by her, "After," held me absolutely spellbound. So when she offered me an advance review copy of "The Innkeeper's Wife" I was super excited to accept. And oh my gosh, I was not disappointed! What a beautiful and heartrending Christmas story! More than once I had to put the book down in order to wipe away my tears. She had me crying at one point so hard that I couldn't see the words on the page. This story ...more

This was a deep, soulful read.

Ginny's struggle really came to life and found myself aching so deeply for her. Gave me a new compassion for the many women who struggle with infertility. Though we might not always understand, I was personally reminded that sometimes we go through hard things, but that doesn't mean we should give up hope. God is always right there in the center of our pain, heartache, bitterness, or any other emotion we might be greatly struggling with. He may ask us to be strong

Awwwwwwww. This is such a lovely story! As someone who struggled with getting pregnant initially, though I've since had three healthy babies, I really identified a lot with things going on in this book.

Ginny and Caleb are in their mid-thirties. They own and run a bed-and-breakfast. They've wanted children for years, but never conceived. In the middle of a Christmas snowstorm, a young couple arrives at the b&b, which is full. The young woman is great with child, to say the least, and Ginny

Ginny is married to Caleb who thought it a great idea to buy a b&b so this he did but it needed to be done up and so after much hard work they find them selves at Christmas snowed in and with a full house when to stalkers turn up. Well you can guess the jist but not the pain this brings Ginny who is desperate for a child of her own and Caleb also. The pain of no baby then 2 teenagers turn up and she is ready to go but we'll you need to read this story. A Christmas miracle but why always ...more

If you have ever suffered the pain of infertility or a miscarriage, you will understand this book. You will understand Ginny and every gut-wrenching emotion she goes through. You will understand what may sound like selfishness to someone else, but is really a deep, deep agony so silent and so profound and so personal that it's almost impossible for anyone to understand unless they've been there.

I have never struggled with infertility, but I have had a miscarriage that was one of the most

I received this book as an ARC. I liked the message of the story that if we seek the best for others, instead of dwelling on ourselves, we will be blessed. We will be comforted, and maybe given the desires of our heart. The author states she wanted to present a message about the struggles women go through with infertility and how it impacts their life. Her purpose was beautifully presented. My only negative comment about the story was Ginny. She was so self centered, that I could not relate to ...more

I am not a fan of SHORT STORIES, so I was really disappointed when suddenly the book was over. I would have loved to have had more.

Ginny and Caleb own and run a Bed & Breakfast.
It's Christmas and they are booked full. "No room at this inn."
Along comes a couple with a very pregnant, "Mother to be." After much discussion they make them a room in the garage. Hence there is a nurse at the inn, and a child is born in the middle of a terrible snow storm.
This is a very touching story and a great short story to read.

I laughed, I cried, it moved me, Bob.

No words.

I've been trying to find words for the last 24 hours and I just don't have any.

This was a beautiful story that I can't help feeling like it belongs to me in some small way.

It's like turning that last corner onto the road I live on, and I can see my house just down the way.

When a young couple appears at the secluded Timeless Bed and Breakfast on Christmas Eve, Ginny and Caleb finally agree to house them in a little used room over the garage. The inn is full, the couple's car has broken down in the midst of a blizzard, and the young woman goes into labor just as Ginny has announced they have no more rooms. Fortunately, one of the guests is a nurse who has delivered babies before. As Caleb and Ginny rush to get the needed supplies, they must overcome their own ...more

This heartwarming tale shows us how important it is to appreciate the people in our lives and what we have now. A perfect message for Christmas. Or anytime.

I really liked this good short story, wall written & an enjoyable none offensive way to pass the time!
Sandy Duke
This was a sweet short story that deals with the pain of infertility and the drama of an unplanned home birth. The author did a good job of fleshing out the characters quickly and drawing the reader into the story. I was bothered by several errors that apparently were missed by the proofreaders and editors, but there were not so many that I stopped reading. Clean Read -- unless you are squeamish about the birth process. Christian elements, but not preachy.

A Little Too Short

This was a nice story but a little too short for my taste. I guess I will have to read the second book in this series to find out what happens between Ginny and her husband Caleb.
