The book “An Unfortunate Dimension” by Dominic Schunker is a very good novel and this is the first book the writer wrote. But I have to admit that it was not easy for me to follow the main figure that was constantly moving around the various locations in the book. The book is very well written and the characters are well elaborated. As the book was over, it was easier for me to follow the main action and I really like the end of the book. The book could be classified in several genr

The author requested I review this novel. I received no compensation in any form. The request did not affect the following review.
An Unfortunate Dimension by Dominic Schunker is a mind-bending trip over a multi-dimensional landscape. The author invites the reader on a journey through a real, present day, not quite normal, everyday world. Then, as if in making a multi-layer cake, Schunker imposes on top of it two worlds. One is a world that is presently in development, one of Artificial Intellige

I like science fiction but I haven’t been reading a lot of it. To be honest, I got burned out by it. When I saw the blurb for An Unfortunate Dimension, I decided to read it. I am glad that I did because this book was good.

An Unfortunate Dimension is the story of Salvador. Salvador has been having a rough time lately. His wife, Jemma, is in a coma, on life support. Salvador has been experiencing weird occurrences. Like being dropped into an intense laser fight, naked. Or seeing his best friend wh

Disclaimer: I received a free copy from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review of his work. Below are my thoughts:

One of the first things I thought at the end of this book was "That was very Inception-y". I mean that as a compliment, because Inception and An Unfortunate Dimension are both compelling stories where a man finds himself stepping outside of the reality we know to get back the life he wants the most. In this case, Salvador uses virtual reality to try to figure out why she

What a wild ride this was! "An Unfortunate Dimension" by author Dominic Shunker was given to me as a .mobi file in exchange for an honest review, and as I haven't reviewed a race-against-the-clock novel in quite some time, I was pleased with the exciting plot and creative worldbuilding!

A wild and unpredictable ride

An avid reader of thrillers I wasn't comfortable with the blurbs Sci Fi reference but this book was recommended by a close friend so I delved in. To my surprise I was unable to put it down, constantly fast paced. An unfortunate Dimension cleverly meshes the real and virtual worlds of Salvador and those close to him. I simply fell for his character from the beginning, his big nose, clown feet and thirst for giant hugs made him so loveable during his unforgettably acti

An Unfortunate Dimension (Kindle Edition) by Dominic Schunker

You think you know what's going to happen. You are wrong.
This fast paced, but well timed novel is an excellent exercise in sleight of hand. Just when you think you've got it, the plot takes yet another twist, and there you are!
The characters are all very real, yet also very not. But we have all had friends like these, and if we are incredibly lucky, maybe love as well. The timing is very well done, as are the characters. This is a bon
