This is a complete re-write of "Survivors." Same story, whole new voice.
A trip to the grocery store turns into a hair-raising experience for ten-year-old Jessi Owen. Stuffed in a trunk, she must endure the horror on her own. Or so she thinks.
Double-chocolate fudge or dark chocolate? Devin James hates it when his wife Vivian forgets her cell phone. But now he's forgotten his. This innocent oversight turns out to be disastrous when he witnesses Jessi's abduction. He follows the car, having no plan for when—or if—he catches up. The killer is armed. Devin isn't. Dead, he'll do Jessi no good. Follow the pastor and the black belt as they cross the state of Arkansas, desperate for a plan, desperate for help, desperate for hope.
Based on a true story, Finding Nowhere is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat until the last page—and to leave you breathless.
This book deserves ZERO stars! It is the worst rubbish I have ever read. I forced myself to finish it because I actually PAID money for it. The cover looked interesting and it has mostly 5 & 4 star reviews. I can’t tell you what the book is about because after 238 pages I have no idea. It is so confusing what with people being called by different names. The pages in italics – what the dickens are they? Dreams? Who is dreaming? An editor clearly never touched this book. Examples – Pg. 38 –“Just a old ax handle…” Pg.157 – “Now that made since.” Can anyone please explain to me what the phrase “cursed his brow” means – it is used many times. To bring God into this hogwash – quoting bible verses – seems the ultimate abomination. I am cursing myself for spending my money on this trash.
So I must be missing something. This book has amazing reviews all the while I was barely able to finish it. The story is allover the place, I got completely lost several times. The concept was great, execution not so much. I was really excited to read this book, only to be very disappointed. No suprises there, no action, just shooting, crazy-crazy-crazy-unbelievable and then somewhat decent ending. I was going to give it 1 star, but since the epilogue was actually coherent I decided on 2 stars. Definitely not for me.
Finding Nowhere by Jeff Wade is a beautifully written creepy book. I’ve read several reviews comparing his writing to Stephen King’s or Dean Koontz’s books. I kind of rolled my eyes but decided to check it out because of the positive reviews.
Mr. Wade has managed to write a novel that far exceeded my expectations. It is not Stephen King and it is not Dean Koontz. This is most definitely a Jeff Wade novel written in his own unique voice and style. This unique style is absolutely wonderful and is a spiritual relative of the Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels we have.
The characters, story, and setting all combine to make for a truly unique creepy thriller. The story never drags and yet gives the breathing room necessary for me to come to feel like I knew and understood the characters and learned to love and/or hate them.
If you enjoy something reminiscent of King or Koontz, this is the novel for you. It is fantastic to have another author writing in this genre that is engaging and fun.
Devin James is a pastor and a Taekwondo instructor in the small town of Morrilton, Arkansas. Devin is somewhat unsure of his faith in God at times. He is very close to Grace Owen and her daughter Jessi. He made a promise to Jessi's father ,when he was on his deathbed, to take care of Jessi and she is also fond of Devin. She refers to him as “Sensei” because she is one of his Taekwondo students. After a tragic event takes place at a local grocery store on a rainy night, Jessi is kidnapped by a maniac and Devin has to race against time to save her. Finding Nowhere is a well crafted Thriller. The readers get to understand the character's backgrounds as the story progresses and their thoughts are revealed which gives all of them depth. I found that the crazy kidnapper's history explained a lot about why he was so disturbed.
Wow! This book was very intense. It had some things in it that some people may not agree with, but the writing of it and how good it was for the characters was great. The characters Jessi Grace, Daniel, Vivian, Timmy the elusive Mary, even the secondary characters that were not supposed to be in depth were actually the best in this book. All I can say about this book when it comes down to a critique is that the author just became too literal with every single thing. There are certain things that a little kid is not thinking about when they going through a trauma and stuff like that that made it just seem too much. Other than that I can tell you right now. This was a great read. A great book written well. Love the characters! Bravo.
Have had this book for a while and didn’t realize it until I tried to buy it again. The title intrigued me so I began reading it - even though I was currently reading four other books. Hard to put down, especially close to the ending. Amazed at the author’s ability to make a serial killer story ring of something spiritual. Absolutely loved it. Read Drawer #7 as well. Plan on reading more.
Ole Coach Tanner is a freak show. His words of wisdom: Just bring them the pork, boys. Once they eating bacon, don't nobody care how the pig got slaughtered. Always tell the truth. Because you never know when you gonna need a good lie. Always be thinkin'! N' use common sense!. Ain't no harm prayin' for sunshine, but always bring a raincoat. These would make great t-shirts.
I think this book should have been twice the length if not three times. A big opportunity was missing expounding on the sheriff and Ted Reed, his deputy. Also Grace Owen could have been more developed. And where, exactly, did Devin James come from? Sigh... I guess the story is designed to leave you thinking and guessing, and imagining those things for yourself. I hope he comes out with a sequel!

Awesome story but... the violence. I reluctantly admit it need to be there to give the story inpact, but man... it's so... Personal! In fact, just that it happens to characters Wade makes you love and cherish. I guess that makes it traumatic rather than gratuitously violent. But that's even worse! Great story if you're not squeamish.
Dude is crazy. Seriously, how could you come up with a story like this if you weren't a french fry short of a happy meal? Great story, but I'd never let him babysit my kids! LOL seriously though, it's a great story that sends chills down your spine.
Master Paster didn't have his cell phone and the store phone had been disabled. Now what can he do when he sees young Jessie kidnapped? He chooses wisely to follow them. The rest you'll just have to find out.

As a former English teacher, the occasional split infinitive bothered me a little. Not to mention the southern drawls. But I got over it. Wade demands your full attention and I found it impossible to resist. Overall a great story.

Where can I find Ellis D. and the Alter Egos? LOL but seriously they sound like a great band something Tim Lovelss would no doubt listen to, no surprise there.
I was so mad at "Tuli" that I almost threw the book across the room! You don't fool with someone else's firearm, not ever! Lots of road blocks stopping Jessi from escaping. That's what makes an exciting read.
If you like Stephen King, or Dean Koontz, you'll like Wade. I bet his bookshelf is filled with King and Koontz. Now I'm going to read his other works, which numbers only TWO! Get busy, Wade!
This guy HAD to grow up in Arkansas because he nails the southern twang and the whole way of living in a place like that. I felt like I was there in the story and that's what makes a good book.
Great writer, but only a few stories that I could find. That's a shame, but I guess quality takes time to write. I will still be thinking about what happened to Jessi when I'm old and gray.
Cannot stop thinking about this story. Go ahead and guess who the voice is you would be wrong. Many things to think about before I ever open another book.
Time Loveless is outright crazy! Think is, I hated myself for feeling for the guy. I hate him, but I understood his insanity, which is a little disturbing. My heart was torn out about Mary Maples.

Finally, a story that bucks the typical three-act platform—as well as most all conventions of modern writing. Strap in for a thrill ride that is simultaneously intense and unorthodox!
