My mom read this book to me when I was a baby.
Like all of Sandra Boynton's books, it's fun and sing-songy and blessedly short. When my kids bring me one of these books, I praise God for His goodness and Sandra for writing short books. Don't get me wrong...I like reading to my kids, but at the end of a long day I just want to rest.

Okay, THIS one is our favorite! I made up a tune to go with the words and my grandson runs to get the book whenever he hears me singing it. Gets grandma hugs and kisses every time. :-)

My son got this book as a valentines gift from his grandmother, and after reading it to him once I find myself singing the song all over the house to him. He loves it! Cute little illustrations and super easy song to read (it will get stuck in your head! But that's not a bad thing.

Ben’s favorite book so far! It has a song to sing, cute illustrations and is just plain adorable.
A little love tune! There’s no preset tune to sing the story to but I found a tune came naturally. Over all cute and perfect for the little one you love!
... am I the only person (other than my spouse) that cannot stand this book?! to be fair my kids and their grandparents adore it. so that's cool. but seriously. I force my spouse to read this at bedtime when I'm mad at him.

Kids are undoubtedly going to love the silliness of the book, but somebody please send me an audio or video link for how in the name of ZEUS' BUTTHOLE you are supposed to sing the song. Because every time I try, I feel like I'm speaking English for the very first time in my life. It feels so choppy and wrong. I can't be alone in this. Too gimmicky. It demands to be read a certain (over-the-top) way, tries too hard to be cute, and lacks poetry. And the illustrations were of a bubbly, color-in-the-lines style that only served to compound my frustration with the imagination-limiting book. I would have preferred a little book that just had the words "snuggle puppy" over and over, with fluffy puppy illustrations accompanying each one.

A friend of mine gave this to my grandaughter. The first time I read it I thought it was kind of silly, but over time I realized this is the perfect book for a very little child. It is short. They book itself is sturdy. Small children love the simple story and it gives adults a great excuse to express their love for a special child in their life.

A really cute and super quick read. My toddler loved the singing parts (which is practically the whole book).
On the first read, I found this book quite silly, but I chalk that up to my uneasiness with my new role as mother. Now, i love to read and sing this book to my newborn son every day!

Honestly I thought this was too cute for me the first time I read it but now my almost 5 year old and 2 year old sing it together almost every night, which is the most adorable thing in the world.
The first couple times I tried to read this, it felt awkward, because I tried to sing it without any idea for a tune or a rhythm. Likewise, my one-year-old would at first shake his head "no" when he saw me reach for this particular book (to be fair, he shakes his head "no" at everything, including food or toys that he is, at that very moment, accepting from me). This adorable book is great for younger children between the ages 2 and 5. It follows a song about a mother dog and all that she loves about her puppy. It talks about acceptance and how the mother loves her puppy no matter what. Its uplifting with a lot of colorful illustrations. Snuggle Puppy (2003) by Sandra Boynton is a really, really good book. I've had it for a long time; it's one of my favorites, and I plan to keep it forever. I love this book because I love the song. I like to sing it with my mommy and grandma. I like how the mommy dog gives the baby dog a cookie. I think kids should read this book because it is one of the best books ever. This is a fun book to read to your children at home. It shows love and warmth of a puppy and its parent. Also being in the form of a song it is a different way of reading a book rather than just being read to. Children will be able to pick up on the song and sing it with you while it is being read to them so they can become more engaged.
I am only 3 months old but so far this book is my absolute favourite. The book is a little love song in book form. When mom reads/sings it to me I kick my feet and give great big smiles. Mom and Dad even sing the song to me when I am upset to calm me down. I like looking at the pictures too though.

I have read this book with both of my boys and it's a family favorite. I always sing-song the book to them and they do it with me. I've never heard the song that goes with it, but I'm sure our made-up one works just as well! It's definitely a book I will treasure for the rest of my life simply for the memories made while reading it.

I read this to a bunch of 3 year olds during a volunteer event a week ago. I loved it more than the kids I think. So adorable and now I sing this silly song to my own “snuggle puppy” almost everyday. ♥️

This book is one of my favorites! Sandra Boynton is an awesome children’s author. Her books are silly and fun for kids to read. My family sings along to it, rather than reading it which makes it even more enjoyable for children.
