I HAVE WAITED FOUR YEARS FOR THIS BOOK IT BETTER BE GOOD!!

The opening to this one really got to me. I hated that a happy time for Rowan and Clive was ruined and not just a bit, but so very bad. The event spurred Rowan into action, to find the people who would do this. During her investigation she found out that there had to be people close to them betraying them, which seemed to hit her hard, especially as that info was figured out after another hard know. I loved that Clive was right there supporting Rowan, helping and giving her space as needed.

I've waited over 2 years for this book. I kinda gave up on the series. But to my surprise and gratitude the author will finish this one.

The vampires in these books may not be something new, but the main character certainly is.
Rowan is the type of heroine that you rarely see. Super confident. Powerful. And opinionated without being arrogant.
I think the thing I like most about

I feel as if I’m in a pre-existing relationship with this book that I need to disclose – even though I only just finished it. I know that sounds a bit (possibly more than a bit) odd.

You see, the first book in this series, Goddess With a Blade, was one of the first books I ever got from NetGalley, eight long years ago. I still remember sitting down at my kitchen table to read it, and finished it in one sitting. (To be fair, it’s only 200 pages, for me that’s

Despite its flaws I love this series

Rowen Summerwaite is a Hunter who enforces the Treaty protecting humans from vampires and other supernatural creatures. She is also the embodiment of the Goddess Brigid. Rowen’s husband Clive is a vampire, the head honcho of North America. Her step dad is The First, the first vampire to exist, and so old he’s crazy powerful and sometimes just crazy. Evil forces want the treaty to end and supernatural creatures to have unrestricted use of humans for food and po

There was something about this installment... not sure what it was...that made this one largely a miss for me. I really love this series and remember reading the first book and being so pleasantly surprised by the main characters and the world. And each installment has been pretty good about maintaining and growing the character development and forward story. But this one just left me feeling largely empty and unsatisfied.

At the end of the previous book, Carey, one of Rowan's employees and close

Too many mistakes for a trad published book, but unfortunately it wasn't the biggest problem this book had.

It wanted strongly to start with a bang, but it was all over the place. Honestly it was a WTF moment ending with Rowan churlishy kneeing a vamp in the 'nads. I won't tag it as a spoiler as it happens in the first pages, but her posse in the US is killed while she's away. And rather then having a dramatic moment, it's robotic, flat. There is no real bang as there is no real drama. (Or rathe

I was so excited for this book. I've missed this series in the four years since At Blade's Edge came out. I love a kick-ass protagonist, but what I adore even more is if their partner is equally strong. That's why I love the dynamics between Rowan and Clive. They remind me of my favorite romantic couple in Eve and Roarke from the In Death series by J.D. Robb.

Having said that, I'm giving Wrath of the Goddess 3.5 stars. The inciting incident right from the start of the book was shocking and set hi

Rowan is BAAAACK! She and Clive are back in Las Vegas, back in the middle of an investigation, and back in the business of bringing down the "big bads".

Their relationship is deepening and so is their trust in each other. Those are good things because Rowan is rapidly losing the people closest to her. I was so incredibly happy to see Genevieve come back and become one of her sidekicks, not that David, Rowan's valet, will allow her that title (wink, wink). Learning it's okay to allow herself to l

After marathoning the entire series before reading this newest release, I’ve noticed that a lot of the plot seems overly similar. I don’t like the feeling I get when I purchase a book only to read the same story with a few changes in cast. Although the h has made significant allies & war has been declared, this book left me feeling like I’ve been running on the treadmill expecting to get to a predetermined spot. That’s to say I don’t feel we’ve made much progress on the overall arc. This was ...more

I love this series, and Wrath of the Goddess was an excellent addition to it. But it wasn’t without it’s problems. The most significant being that it was years since the last installment. When I started the book I remembered the general characters, but that was it. I remembered absolutely nothing from the previous book, and while yes the beginning briefly goes over the ending of the last book, it wasn’t enough. I didn’t remember The who, what, when, where, and why. I kept hoping that I would get ...more

It was wonderful to get back to these characters after so long. The storyline was exciting, dramatic and rich with emotion. Rowan is as always, large, incharge and acerbic. Clive is still dark, deadly and impossibly swoon worthy. Together, they are a great couple that is easy to root for and feel a strong connection to. I highly recommend starting this series from book one. Otherwise, I think you will feel lost. I would also advise the same for readers that have read this series before. It has b ...more

I forgot how good her books are! It has been awhile since I have picked up a book by this author I'm glad I decided to read this one. Rowen is a Hunter that married Clive who is a Scion she is the Vessel for a Goddess and evil is afoot killing her loved ones and close friends. Magic, Mayhem and Love all rolled into a good kick ass story. you van read this as a standalone but would be more fun reading the whole series to see what happened to her over her life and how she got to the point she has. ...more

Vampires and witches oh my. This story is about Clive and Rowan. After getting married a dark evil intrudes into their life and kills one of Rowan’s staff. It’s better to read the books in order but you don’t have to. Clive is a protective Vampire that is enough man to handle his Rowan and all the trouble that comes. Did I mention there is a goddess in there to. Hmmmm! This book received 5 stars from me because it was entertaining, and I wanted to see who won in the end. Not to mention the Godde ...more

Perfect as always

As normal, my love for Clive and Rowan continues. I love how their relationship continues to grow. I also love Genevieve's growing part in this book and hope it continues. The deaths of Rowan's friends was disheartening, but they did emphasize the growing plot against Rowan. These books must be read in order, and I am looking forward to the next book. Keep them coming.

I didn’t realize this book was part of a series at first, so I had to go and read the previous books before I finished this one. I am so glad I did!

Rowan is a badass that any girl or woman can look up to. Clive the that debonnaire Vampyre who you don’t cross for fear of death.

My favorite character though is Theo. The First is the ultimate Vampyre that I would love to see him find a mate that is his match. That would be fun!!!

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Rowan is back and ready to exact justice
They already killed one of her friends.
Who is going to be next ?
They picked the wrong slayer to mess with.
Read the next chapter in Rowan Summerwaite saga.
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

An enjoyable read, but it didn’t wow me, just felt a bit unfulfilled after it. Like you had an ok meal but we’re still hungry. It was entertaining enough it just seemed to lack something I couldn’t put my finger on.

Good but not great.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Ok first off, I love this series. I kept checking to see when the this one would come out.
I love the characters and the world they live in, the plot it draws you in and hooks you to the end.

After saying all that, for me this one miss the mark, the story was good but there was something lacking in this one that the others have.

Amazing!

This book like all the others in the series is amazing. While I thoroughly enjoyed the book, it felt like a prelude to the next and somewhat like a filler book. But overall, it's definitely worth it

I like Lauren Dane's books and this one is no exception, however I would recommend reading the previous four books before reading this one. I was just a bit confuse when started reading because I haven't read most of the books and events from those books are referenced.

I hate that I can't give this a higher rating, I really love this series. There was a few things that really bugged me but I'm going to hold off on my rant til I have listened to it in audio - which I like better with this series

Lauren Dane has been writing stories since she was able to use a pencil, and before that she used to tell them to people. Of course, she still talks nonstop, and through wonderful fate and good fortune, she’s now able to share what she writes with others. It’s a wonderful life!

The basics: Lauren is a mom, a partner, a best friend and a daughter. Living in the rainy but beautiful Pacific Northwest,
