Very passionate and romantic love story. Poor hero he was so broken and tortured my heart broke for him. His past and sexual abuse were horrific. Our heroine was a sweet woman who has loved him forever and eventually managed to bring him to light. He was experienced and she was a virgin so this book was perfect for me. Loved the very short but sweet epilogue with their daughter. Maisey Yates is one of my favorite Harlequin authors!

I need fairy tales sometimes without prince charming. This one met my need. 😉

Angstey with lots of sexiness, feels and an awesome, royal stepbrother trope! Would have given full 5 ⭐ if the H hadn't been raped as a teen! That sort of blew up the romantic bubble, even though I knew going in that it was included in the book.

His Forbidden Pregnant Princess by Maisey Yates is, as the title implies, a royal romance with a forbidden love affair theme. King Luca of San Gennaro has been tasked by his late father to provide for his stepsister by marriage (his father married her mother). This means arranging a suitable marriage for her. Never mind the fact that he’s lusted after her most inappropriately since she came of age.

For Sophia, secretly in love with her older stepbrother, the thought of marrying someone else fills

This was so angsty and dark, and yet so very good.

Quite a lovely story! I must say there were potent emotions and diabolical attractions. I could almost feel how much the forbidden attraction was killing and destroying them. Sadly they didn't know they wanted each other ,badly. We have a tormented king who was aloof and arrogant by force due to his past. We have his step sister a princess abandoned by her father and found solace in the King's father. They fought against their disastrous attractions until no barrier could withhold them. Dark and compelling....

Luca, the hero, is as dark and compelling as the story. Sophia's and Luca's lives are so intertwined that (more than once) it seems impossible for their underlying emotional and sensual ties to each other to triumph. Both are seemingly locked into a life of expectation and protocol that has been set by promises made and shocking past events. As much as I occasionally despaired of Sophia for being so compliant, and Luca for being so imperious, I could not stop reading until

Sweet story of royal romance. Though i hate the H at first for being a jerk, but he had a good reasin behind it; but still not justified the means. I liked how the romance was building on pace and the relationship grew from understanding, acceptance, and compromise. It was a good story of how a relationship came into terms with how awful past they had. A good story.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author Maisey Yates lives in rural Oregon with her three children and her husband, whose chiseled jaw and arresting features continue to make her swoon. She feels the epic trek she takes several times a day from her office to her coffee maker is a true example of her pioneer spirit. In 2009, at the age of twenty-three Maisey sold her first book.
