Absolution

According to canon law, it is forbidden for a priest to betray the penitent for any reason. Even murder.

The consequences?

Excommunication.

For years, I’ve listened to your confessions. I know your darkest secrets, and have swallowed your sins in silence. In return, I’ve offered you forgiveness in His name. But behind the partition that separates us, I’m nothing more than a man who has long questioned his own faith.

Your contrition is my invitation: to mete out the kind of justice you pray will never come. I’m neither pious, nor merciful, despite what you see. I’m an imposter, an abomination to all I represent. A quiet executioner who’s kept below the radar.

Until her.

She’s seen what I’ve done. She knows the man beneath the cloth and my every mortal sin. She has witnessed the uncontrollable vices she hopes to use against me in order to get what she covets most.

Yet, I know her sins, too. Ones she doesn’t bother to confess. The kind, for which, there is no absolution.

*The short story first appeared in the Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology. This is the full-sized novel, which includes the conclusion to Damon and Ivy's story.

C’mon, pécheresse, let me hear you scream.”
“Oh, God!”
“There is no God here, Ivy. Only me.”

Bless me, father, for I have sinned. Oh how I've sinned! I've sinned So. Freaking. Hard. And I'm not even a little sorry. Absolution was a deliciously thrilling ride that skirts the edge of propriety and was so good, it was downright sinful!
Moans muffle into the pillows, while she rolls her head and claws at the bedding as if possessed by demons. Maybe she is. Surely, God isn’t present here, while I f*ck her with the kind of reckless abandon that’ll land my soul in hell.

If you've never read anything by the immensely talented Keri Lake, then this is the story you need to start with to get a good taste of her addicting story telling. And if you're a fan of taboo romance, that you definitely need this book in your life!

Father Damon is not all that he seems. There's a dark undercurrent to this man of the cloth and a history riddled with demons that have followed him into his present. When a man steps into his confessional to describe a crime that's horrific beyond words, it sends Damon into a tailspin of repressed anger and vengeance. Then a a beautiful woman with her own dark secrets puts his faith to a true test.

Absolution is a sizzling story full of grit and a dash of darkness with a heavy layer of taboo. It was a page turner from beginning to finish. A high paced thrill ride of vengeance with a deliciously sizzling romance.

Ivy is a character that I wasn't sure I'd like at first but boy did she grow on me as the story progressed. Her reasons for getting to Damon aren't exactly altruistic. This is a woman with a hidden agenda, but one made out of utter and complete helplessness. She's desperate to get away from a demon of her own past and she'll do anything to escape him. Even make a sinner out of Damon...

With plenty of mind-blowing twists and turns that I've come to love and expect from this author, Absolution was one unputdownable read that I recommend for any fans of gritty taboo romance.

This was originally published as a novella in a limited time anthology and it's now been expanded to be a full length novel and it packs an even bigger punch. If you've read the novella, then you'll definitely want to get your grabby little hands on this because it delivers on the satisfying conclusion that was missing in the novella. There has been an entire second half added that takes the reader beyond Ivy's revenge and deep into the dark bowels of Damon's.

She's desperate to get away from a demon of her own past and she'll do anything to escape him. Even make a sinner out of Damon...

In her signature gritty style with an undercurrent of darkness, Keri delivers on the side of Damon we barely got a taste for in the novella. Here you get to know the man he used to be and the man he becomes along with the sacrifices he makes along the way. There's so many twists and turns, it will leave your head reeling.

With plenty of mind-blowing twists and turns that I've come to love and expect from this author, Absolution was one unputdownable read that I recommend for any fans of gritty taboo romance. Trust me, people, if there's one book you need to read right now, it's THIS ONE!!!

"God promises mercy, but he does not promise tomorrow."
description

Absolution is a dark and twisted contemporary romance full of passion, sin, and suspense. Father Damon Russo has done his best to serve God and the church and forget about the life he left behind. When Ivy Mercier stumbles into his confessional, his life is turned upside down. Ivy is involved with some dangerous people and she is desperate to get away. When she discovers Damon has a secret, she decides that he is the answer to all of her problems. Ivy has a light-hearted gypsy spirit and yet, she is also a master at seduction. Damon is instantly drawn to Ivy and she becomes his obsession. Together they are perfectly matched and become a force to be reckoned with.

description
"No amount of theology can banish what has been pumping through my veins since the day I was brought into the world."
Told in multiple POV, Absolution is an action-packed ride full of many twists and turns. The plot is complex and the characters are thoroughly explored. In true Lake fashion, the connection between the main characters is smoldering hot and each moment seamlessly blends into the next. The timeline blends fluidly which allows the reader to be immersed in the story and have a full understanding of the torment and despair both Ivy and Damon have experienced.
"Ivy is poison in my blood."
Overall, I highly recommend Absolution to anyone who enjoys an action-packed taboo read full of passion and complex characters. Keri Lake has always been one of my go-to authors and once again she has crafted an unforgettable story with the promise of more greatness to come!

READ MY REVIEW ON THE BLOG

If there is one author I trust implicitly with dark romance, it's Keri Lake. While her characters are morally dubious at best, they always have a good core and a good reason for their actions. In Absolution we are introduced into a new world that is no less violent and bleak as her Vigilante world.
Ivy is poison in my blood.

Like all her male characters Damon has experienced great loss. He turned to his faith and became a priest and so far he has been steadfast and strong. Enter Ivy. I wouldn't call her a damsel in distress, the problems she has are way more sinister. One day she witnesses and proper Father Damon doing something very unpriestly and uses that knowledge to manipulate him into helping her getting rid of the thorn in her side that is actually more of a dagger.

Damon is charismatic, mysterious and commanding but also surprisingly kind. No one would ever call him sweet though, except when we get the flashbacks and glimpses of him with his daughter.

Ivy is a cunning little devil but she isn't a bad person. She has no compunctions to fight dirty to survive and has buckets of spunk. But there is also a vulnerability and it gets pronounced towards the end when she shows the weakness she has for the sinful priest.
“You’re quite the little serpent, aren’t you? Disguising yourself as innocent and naïve?”
“And you’re a wolf in sheep’s clothing, so how bout we both shed these skins and be real for a moment.

ABSOLUTION is a long-ish novella but Miss Lake has this incredible talent to masterfully plot like there is no tomorrow. You get unbelievable depth for a book of this word count. It feels like a full length novel.

Keri Lake doesn't use pretty words in her books. They are honest and gritty, violence is part of the world her books are set in so she doesn't spare the reader by fading to black. Yet there are glimpses of purity and beauty and light and those are the ones you live for when you take a book by this author into your hands. I hope she expands on this world and makes it a series because I need more Ivy and Damon!
I can’t take my eyes off this girl, this enigmatic, intriguing little creature who’s seized my attention.

The storyline is fantastic. It's a brilliant, gripping read with twists and turns that nearly gave me whiplash. Not only does it involve a gritty story, but we also have characters who will tear your heart out with their grief and pain, leaving you feeling bruised and battered.
Father Damon Russo harbors secrets, he has scars. Ivy Mercier is tough as nails with a provocative attitude. Their relationship is as perfect as is perfectly flawed. It is forbidden, but it’s this forbiddance that makes it all so irresistible. Their chemistry is unbelievable, and that’s why you want them to be together with every fiber of your being.
This book makes you feel. Absolution blew me away! It was captivating, heartbreaking, antsy and broken!! I recommend it with all my heart!

In short:

soooo… this is my kink. lol.

the beginning of this reminded me a lot of ‘priest,’ but then when it took a turn into the mafia/cartel area, i was caught a little off guard. not my most favourite thing to read about, but it suited the story. there was a good balance between romance, plot, and easy to read writing.

overall, a very good guilty pleasure read.

Keri Lake left me high once again! This talented author just know how to draw me right away in her gritty and dark world. For once the action doesn’t take place in Detroit but in L.A. That doesn’t mean the story isn’t as intriguing and captivating as any of her previous books!
What started as a story about confessions has more edge and ties than it seems at first.

Father Damon isn’t you usual priest. He has a troubling past and his reasons to become a priest are heartbreaking. A dreadful confession is going to test his vows and change his life in more ways than one.

Ivy is a determined woman who made the wrong choice at a vulnerable moment. Her intentions might be noble but her actions are a little reckless. Well not that she has much choice and not that I blame her at all because in her position I would have done worse.

Absolution being a novella, you’d think it would leave you with something missing but not at all! The story is extremely well developed and the tension between both characters is tangible and their connections gets stronger and stronger with every page you turn.

I’m already at the edge of my seat to know what the future hold for Ivy & Damon.

4.5 Stars!

Father Damon Russo has been on the righteous path for eight years, but one night he hears a confession that stirs dark emotions. As Damon tries to reconcile what he discovers, buried instinct fuels his need for retribution.

“Like an old friend, something cold and familiar snakes through my veins, winding itself around my tightly woven composure and strangling my control.”

Ivy Mercier leads a humble life but she managed to get involved in a situation that doesn’t have an easy ending. Tired of not having options, Ivy seizes an opportunity to finally walk away but it comes with a cost.

“Now tell me what you want, Ivy. Tell me what dirty things you want me to do. Confess your sins to me.”

Told in dual POV, the plot moves forward at a swift pace with convincing character development, especially given this is a novella. Weaving the past into the present helps to explain Damon’s evolution to priesthood and then it all explodes.

“I lay my hands on her head, as if conferring the Holy Spirit upon her, and tip my head back when she sucks me base to tip. “Yes, that’s it. Take all of it, Ivy. Every inch of what you’ve sown.”

Damon is absolutely tantalizing with his pent up sexual desires and dirty mouth. I liked his edge and the conflict between being good and bad. From the beginning, his interaction with Ivy is intriguing because she ignites a fire that he’s tried so hard to extinguish. Ivy is feisty and resilient but she is also sincere and giving. With their push and pull chemistry, they are combustible.

Absolution is a dark and taboo romance based steeped in revenge and underworld dealings. This book will appeal to those looking for a smoking hot romance with gritty action. I look forward to more of Damon Russo.

After loving the novella, I was curious about Damon’s past and how he was going to reconcile his pain. In this novel, there are answers amidst building tension. While the story rounds out the novella, I didn’t feel it added to the complex layers that were previously written. For those who like a tidy ending, this novel will satisfy such reading prerequisites. Overall, some parts seemed rushed and slightly unconvincing, but I enjoyed getting back to Damon and Ivy.

Absolution is a new short story by Keri Lake, part of the Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology, Absolution is a sinful story about a priest with a dark past trying hard not to go back to his old ways and a young woman ready to do anything to save herself.

I had no idea what to expect going into this book. I mean it’s about a freaking priest and Keri Lake is writing it, I knew it was going to be scorching hot and I was not disappointed.

I’m not usually a fan of short stories because when things develop too fast, it normally doesn’t work for me. Not this time though, I loved the story, how Keri managed to write so much in such a short book, how she skillfully wrote an intricate story of forgiveness, vengeance and sex. Steamy steamy sex.

Absolution is definitely an unconventional story, even for Keri Lake. We’re used to dark, gritty, raw stories from her but this one is, in my opinion, on another level. Not necessarily darker even though it is pretty dark but because she wrote a dark erotica about an actual priest. Legend.

I loved every word of this book. I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t stop reading, this story is riveting, so bad and yet so good. How can a priest be so hot?

I liked both main characters, they seem so different at first but we soon come to realize that they’re more alike than we thought. I enjoyed seeing their weird relationship develop, how bold Keri Lake was and, oddly enough, it was actually believable. I know.

Even though the twist at the end was quite obvious to me, I still enjoyed the story tremendously and definitely recommend to everyone who loves Keri Lake and her unique, twisted and dark stories.

☆☆☆Review of Absolution by Keri Lake☆☆☆
“I absolve you of your sins.”

Oh, my!!!! How it is possible to write such an intricate story, to built up the anticipation, to gave life to multidimensional characters and stir strong emotions in a novella is completely beyond me. But Keri Lake did it, mastered it, another proof of her incredible talent.

I found myself captivated from the first pages by the dark and gritty atmosphere of Absolution. The mystery and chilling revelation surrounding the first confession set up the tone, there will be no sugarcoating anything in this read.

Father Damon, broody and handsome priest hides secrets and a past which ledt him scarred.

Ivy, strong and feisty heroine is eaten away by guilt and threats. She made a pact with the evil to protect her Mamie but can barely contain all the stress and disgust induced by her situation.

Both Ivy and Damon are tormented, I found them perfectly imperfect and all the more endearing for that. I loved their dynamics, Damon's darkness and Ivy's fierceness and determination. The taboo and heavenly sinful relationship, the sexual tension between Ivy and Damon were sizzling.
“But your penance is my pleasure. And you have much to atone for.”

As the story unfolds the reader discovers the depth of the plot. Little by little, more elements and twists increased the suspense until all the pieces of the puzzle eventually click together.

Absolution is definitely a book that will keep you enthralled and played with my nerves all along.
Keri Lake built a world I would eagerly read more about Ivy and Damon, dare I hope for a second book?
“Only God forgives , Ivy.”

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

Merged review:

Father Damon!!!

After reading the part of the Absolution novel that was published as a novella in the Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology, I couldn't wait to read the full length book!

“Forgiveness only comes with divine punishment, Ivy. Reparation for your sins.”

I am in love with father Damon, you should know! Keri Lake wrote a very dark and ruthless, yet somehow very human priest. Broken, haunted due to the  tragedy that occurred years ago, he now lives into hiding. His priesthood takes a new turn of events when a young woman, Ivy, storms into his life.

Follows then a fast-paced and action packed journey where mystery and danger blend with intensity and passion. It's clearly one of those books I couldn't put down.

The anticipation gripped me to no end as Ivy's feistiness appealed to the brooding and protective priest. Seduction has certainly a new face where Ivy is concerned. But wait until you hear Father Damon's dirty words! Oh boy....

“I swear you taste sweeter every time you come.” “It’s the purity of your holy cock.”

Sinning never felt so good! After all, who wouldn't be Father Damon's little pécheresse? The forbidden theme and temptation where amazingly handled, utterly fascinating.

4-Bless me father, for i have sinned-Stars!

“Tell me what you want. Ivy. Tell me what dirty things you want me to do. Confess your sins to me”

Absolution is a dark, gritty, disturbing taboo and forbidden romance. And who doesn’t love a good forbidden romance with a splash of taboo?

Mixed with Murder, Vengeance, and betrayal, i present to you this sinfully hot book.

Father Damon is so damn hot!! And Ivy is a beautiful feisty and kickass heroine. The connection and chemistry between the two is sinfully delicious. These two really took me on a wild ride!

The storyline is fantastically intriguing and captivating, and i was hooked on every line.

I highly recommend Absolution for lovers of dark, action-packed taboo reads, full of hot, steamy and compelling characters!

Favorite quotes:

“As much as I believe we’re all deserving of God’s mercy, there are those among us, wolves amongst the flock, who are, by their very nature, unrepentant predators, the kind that seek out the most innocent and vulnerable.”

“I can’t take my eyes off this girl, this enigmatic, intriguing little creature who’s seized my attention.”

“He doesn’t look like a priest. He looks like every other sinner in the city of angels.”

“You’re quite the little serpent, aren’t you? Disguising yourself as innocent and naïve?”
“And you’re a wolf in sheep’s clothing, so how bout we both shed these skins and be real for a moment”

“Forgiveness only comes with divine punishment, Ivy. Reparation for your sins.”

“I had no idea a man like that. A priest. Could be dangerous and deadly. As well. Like a fictional fantasy come to life.”

“C’mon, pécheresse, let me hear you scream.” Head kicked to the side, her moans heighten, become intense, bouncing off the walls with every slam of my dick. “Oh, God!”“There is no God here, Ivy. Only me.”“Damon! Please, Damon!”

”Forgetting the taste of her poison, after having licked it from her most forbidden places, is like trying to forget how to breathe. Impossible.”

Absolution is part of an anthology title, Wanted An Outlaw Antholgoy

Forgive me Father, for I have sinned. I know that seems so cliché to write, but it is so fitting for this story.

If you not had the pleasure of reading anything by Keri Lake before, this small novella/short story is the perfect look into what you will get when you read her stories. Keri is one of my go-to authors for anything she writes.

In Absolution we find two people - a man who chose to become a priest when he could no longer fight the demons tearing away inside of him. But as we all know, you can never quiet your inner musings. There will come a time when you can no longer hide who you truly are. Are you absolved of your past sins when you become a man of faith?

And a woman who sold her soul to the devil. A deal she made that has haunted her from the very beginning. What happens when you can no longer fight? Can someone ever be absolved of a sin for a crime they were aware of, but had no proof and did not report?

Keri's delivers a very twisted and gut-wrenching story of two people's lives that are forever changed due to one person. It's a story that reveals two people who finally see who the other one really is once the veil of self-loathing is removed.

Oh I loved this one so much. And I have no doubt that we will be seeing more of these characters in a future book.

I liked the mafia/cartel aspect to this because usually priest stories focus only on the forbidden aspect but in this book you get a hot, dirty talking priest who's also got some thirst for blood in him. Double the heat eh?

The chemistry between Damon and Ivy was scandalous but questionable. What are the odds that their lives are intertwined? But then again this is a fiction book so I closed one eye and continued to read. It is readable, really. Though if the end wasn't predictable it would have been a better story.

(What's a priest-who-turns-into-a-horny-priest story without a smut scene in the church right? Forgive me Father for I have sinned)

This wasn’t my favorite book by Keri Lake, and I can understand why she chose to unpublish it. Compared to her more recent works, this one felt a bit too simple and predictable.

That said, I still found myself enjoying the read. It had all the dark, sinful, and erotic elements that are signature to her style. The plot was engaging enough, with layers of mystery and secrets that kept me turning the pages.

While it may not stand out among her best, it’s still worth reading for fans who appreciate her unique blend of romance and suspense.

Gah!! Keri Lake did it again with this amazing new story. Absolution was everything!! Dark, disturbing, taboo, forbidden and so erotic. I could not stop reading as I was hooked on every word of Damon and Ivy's story.

If you've read this author before you know to expect the unexpected. That is one of the reasons why she is an autoclick purchase for me. Her writing is flawless and the subject matter of her stories is unapologetically gritty and intense. Lake does not pull her punches nor does she soften the impact of her words, even when she knows what she writes may be hard to stomach. I absolutely loved this story and Ivy in particular as Absolution highlighted the resiliency of her spirit and her will to survive. To escape the wrath of the devil she knows, she tries to trap a monster in sheep's clothing to do her dirty work. But she has no idea who and what he is and the repercussions of her actions.

Gah!! I loved this book. Damon was an apex predator who reinvented himself to forget a life of pain and violence. But his connection to Ivy and their sizzling chemistry could not be denied.  While this was an amazing start to their story I am greedy enough to admit that I feel like we only received a brief glimpse of who they are and what they could mean to each other. I hope we get more of them as I would love to see Damon get his rightful vengeance. Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

description Oh, my God,” she says and giggles again. “First time in my life I’ve come during sex. And it’s with a priest.”

Wrapped up in sin and temptation Absolution is a book that would test all your hard limits and check all your forbidden boxes. The priest, the temptress and a tirnado of emotions and heat to light a fire.

description Fuck!” In a brief moment of mercy, she releases me on a pop of suction. “Yes, I agree. We definitely need to fuck again.” Her laugh brings a smile to my face, and I curl my fingers into her hair and tighten my fist. “You’re making this worse.”“Bad is good, though. Isn’t it, Father?”

I always thought that it was unfair to deprive priests of one of God's best gifts to humans. Sex is good..

Well no, sex is great and nobody priest or not should suffer abstinence in the name of a religion or a belief.

description I mean, it’s not fair to you. Going all those years without sex. How can the church expect that? It’s a natural thing for humans. A beautiful thing.”

description I wish I didn’t need sex to feel the same level of satisfaction I did last night. I wish I didn’t crave the scent of a woman and nails digging into my flesh—basic human appetites that a man of my position has no business indulging.

descriptionC’mon, pécheresse, let me hear you scream.” Head kicked to the side, her moans heighten, become intense, bouncing off the walls with every slam of my dick. “Oh, God!”“There is no God here, Ivy. Only me.”“Damon! Please, Damon!”

I read this story as a part of an anthology and believe me if I say it was hands down the best I read to Keri Lake. When I heard it was going to be a full length novel I was ecstatic.

description

description Oh, my God,” she says and giggles again. “First time in my life I’ve come during sex. And it’s with a priest.”

Wrapped up in sin and temptation Absolution is a book that would test all your hard limits and check all your forbidden boxes. The priest, the temptress and a tornado of emotions and heat to light a fire.

description Fuck!” In a brief moment of mercy, she releases me on a pop of suction.

A beautiful thing.”

description

description I wish I didn’t need sex to feel the same level of satisfaction I did last night. I wish I didn’t crave the scent of a woman and nails digging into my flesh—basic human appetites that a man of my position has no business indulging.

The reason why my rating dropped from 5 to 3,5 stars was because the second part of the book couldn't meet my expectations. There was no suspense and the relationship between Damon and Ivy felt forced and based on sex more than on feelings.

I wouldn't rank this as the best Keri Lake came up with because she has stories that would blow the reader's mind but I wouldn't say that this was a total failure because Damon was so hot he deserves to be know.

I wanted to read this story so bad, since dec 2018, I read in apr 2019.

I saw in a review (actually on Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology). and there was a quote "“I think you want to play, don’t you? Does my little whore feel like testing her limits? Huh? Want to see how long I can choke you before you black out?”"

*GUEES WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT*

this is from the bad guy.
my heart is broken.
im so fucking frustrated.

i misleaded by a GR user (not her bad) and i got different expectation. I thought I was gonna read a priest who love chocking.
i'm gonna cry. and crying inside.

I said "watever nothing to do" cuz still the blurb was alluring so I keep reading.

I dont want to talk about story, but I can tell I love their names; Damon- father, 35. Ivy- a broken girl 20smt. you see?

BUT somehow i dont like as much as I expected. not bc of the quote. His attraction was immediately, his feelings was quick, she was into him too but she was trying to involve/use him or asking his help watever u say to get away from her evil and her feelings develop in between trying. i didnt love/buy it. Cliche but HE SHOULD offer help her.

also i'm sick of this "the (bad) connection between h & H even they dont know in past" thing. dont do dis anymore if you are not making it worthy.

"Unbuckling my belt, I lock my eyes on hers as I slide it from the loops of my slacks, and fasten it around her neck like the white collar at my own throat. “But your penance is my pleasure. And you have much to atone for.”"

at least i got this quote, AMEN!

OoooMmmGggg! Absolution by Keri Lake is SINFULLY delicious. It's crazy HOT! A forbidden love story with a PRIEST! *Gasp* I should NOT have read it! It was baaaaaaad, but SO damn good! I didn't like it, but I understand why Ivy did what she had to do to Father Damon, but HOLY HELL! That scene in the old pathologist office... I think it was the HOTTEST thing I have ever read! I did not want to put this book down. I devoured it! I could not get enough of this tortured bad boy. I desperately NEED more Damon Russo! Revenge never sounded more sexy. Gah! It's going to be amazing!

STORY: ★★★★★
PROOFREADING: ★★★
OVERALL: ★★★★

REVIEW OF THE STORY:
I’ve read many stories about religious men who break their vows for an enticing woman, but there’s a lot more than that happening in this intricate, fascinating story! Yes, there is smoking hot, steamy sex between the main characters, but there’s also murder, a hidden identity, blackmail, bereavement, abuse, a Mexican cartel, and more! It’s a definite page turner! However, like pretty much all of the indie books I’ve read this year, this one was difficult for me to fully enjoy due to the need for it to be proofread. This book was inundated with commas, commas, and more commas!!! So many commas that were not necessary!!! But that’s not all… For more details the proofreading issues that continuously distracted me from the story, continue reading. Otherwise, this is the end of my review.

REVIEW OF PROOFREADING:

There is no denying Lake’s incredible talent, I just wish she would’ve forked out a few hundred dollars to hire a good proofreader so her innovative story wasn’t surrounded by so many distractions!

“Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.”

description

Thus begins this Rollercoaster ride of passions bound, chained and forbidden. Keri loosens her grip on all morals to pen this scorching tale of human frailities that lead to the downfall of man or priest alike. The apple that tempted Eve takes form of Ivy Mercier.
Her mission, if Father Damian chooses to accept is: Get rid of Calvin Bianchi.
She gets under his skin, in his brain, in his heart which stores his deep dark desires!!

"The sinner.
The manipulator.
The unforgiveable starlet in every fantasy I’ve had over the last few weeks.
She lied to me, and I was right about one thing all along.
Ivy really is poison in my blood. "

description

The proverbial apple gets bitten, sin consumes them both as they tumble down from the Garden of life into Hell fire of guilt.
But the taste is oh so sweet, the ride euphoric. Culminating in the most mind blowing orgasm known to mankind !!
Of both apple and skin..... Holy Mother Of God Hotness!!!

"A man who’s never tasted an apple is only bound by his own curiosity, while a man who’s indulged in the delicious fruit is enslaved to the tart flavor that lingers on his tongue."

description

My pulse is on fire, the combined thrill of indulgent sexuality and dark depravity has left my blood rushing to my ears. Only Keri can make sin taste to delectable.

This is my 9th Keri Lake book that I read. I'm a huge fan of her and I was very exited to read this one .
What I really liked about this book was the evolution of the male protagonist . I loved how Damon started as a "good" priest , but then during the book connected with his past darkness. I loved the turn of the plot in the first third of the book. It was super gripping and I couldn't take my eyes away from the book. After the turn the plot was pretty cool and exciting too and I really wanted to know who killed Damon's family and who was after Ivy. Also there were a lot of elements in it that reminded me of the "vigilante series". I was also able to see some parallels between Nick Ryder from "Richochet" and Damon. I love how Keri Lake develops her characters and how I can always find some sort of character trait from another character of hers in a new one .
Furthermore, I loved the erotic scenes in this book. They were very hot and I was very satisfied and I think it was amazing that Keri Lake gave Damon a life before being a priest ,because otherwise he probably wouldn't have a sex life.

The only thing I didn't like and which is why I give this book 4 stars instead of 5 , is that the action in this book and the mystery was too much at the end . For me personally, the mystery and action plot was too far-fetched. I personally would've preferred if Damon's father was the killer and not some random old drug lord and cartel owner in Mexico.
Maybe it would've been better if there was a backstory about this drug lord or Damon's past life . Also I think the death of him was a bit too quick and could've been a bit more gripping.

Nevertheless I still enjoyed the book and think Keri Lake is massively talented !

This is a sinful ride with Father Damon that will keep you entranced, excited, and eager to read till the very end. Or is it the end? Father Damon is not like all the other priests. He has lived a life on the other side and experienced the punishment of sin first hand. Damon knows what it means to deal with the devil especially when the devil is your own blood. Keri Lake nails the nuances of faith, sin, and temptation with Absolution. Looking forward to reading the entire Outlaw Anthology!

Merged review:

Keri Lake you have scattered all I know about faith into the air and blown the tiny particles of what is left like dust bunnies resting on a tiny ray of light with Absolution. There are no words to describe how intense these two characters are as they bare their souls to us chapter by chapter.
Father Damon is not a priest from the old catechism, but a man with a dark past who isn't afraid to stand up to the devil himself. Ivy holds on to her sins knowing that there is no absolution unless she can find the courage to face the evil head on. Alone. That is until Father Damon.
Ivy and Damon are two of the most addictive couples I have read in a long ass time. Every breath, every bite, every sultry encounter between them was mind-blowing.

Hmmm... a handsome priest with a bloody past and a strong and feisty heroine with problems and secrets of her own. An amazing, sizzzsling hot love story; a little dark, a little taboo (probably... if you're religious) and lots of creative, well made up twists and turns. LOVED everything about it! ❤ Great book! Great author!

Wow, Absolution had my heart racing!! It’s suspenseful and gritty, and so sinfully delicious. Father Damon is so damn hot!! I never wanted this story to end. I really hope Keri has more in store for Ivy and Damon!

This was crazy good. I’ve read a few bad boy priests with sinful actions but Father Damon by far takes the cake. He takes the trash out. Ivy had me all twisted up keeping up with her. This was an awesome book that will keep u on edge. petalphile’s, murders, steamy sexy, twisted lies, and some just down right evil people. I’m still stunned with the twist in how they are all connect. Only Kari Lake can pull this all together. Nicely done. Loved it! I’ll never look at a curling iron the same way. Thanks for the image. 🤦‍♀️
